Building tip: Tileless doors and arches

If for whatever reason (example below) you ever want to remove the floor tiles that appear when you place a door or arch on a second floor or above, it's pretty easy to do. Just place frillen's invisible tiles over the floor tiles. Note that this is not just an invisible floor, otherwise there would still be a trim around the tiles. This is a buy mode object you place on the floor.

Oeh, I've decided to revive my long-forgotten blog. This is a sim I made 6 years ago (2015, hello!). Her name was Lilith, sadly, she's lost. Made this screenshot back then, decided to post it. t_t'

lavender doesn't nearly die, she does die :(

In the films, she’s seen as lifeless on the floor. A behind-the-scenes book says that she is meant to be dead. We can therefore assume that the movie version of Lavender is indeed dead.

However, canon Lavender is a different story.

Her last mention is this:

“NO!” shrieked Hermione, and with a deafening blast from her wand, Fenrir Greyback was thrown backward from the feebly stirring body of Lavender Brown.

Note that she is still alive when Greyback is thrown from her. If JKR had intended that as Lavender’s death scene, she wouldn’t have written her as “feebly stirring.” In the real world, it would be completely realistic for Lavender to have later died from her injuries. But this is fiction where details like “feebly stirring” matter.

Furthermore, when Voldemort gives the fighters an hour to collect their dead, Lavender isn’t mentioned as among the dead bodies.

After Voldemort’s defeat, Lavender is similarly omitted from the names of the dead:

They moved Voldemort’s body and laid it in a chamber off the Hall, away form the bodies of Fred, Tonks, Lupin, Colin Creevy, and fifty others who had died fighting him.

There is zero reason for Lavender to be lumped in with the “fifty others.” If anything, the death of another secondary character would have packed an additional punch. 

If Lavender was not included among the names of the dead and if she was still alive when Hermione cursed Greyback, there’s only one possible explanation. She was alive at the end of the final battle.

In case that isn’t enough, note that in the Pottermore infographics for Fred/George and Snape, the deaths of Fred and Snape are noted. Lavender’s infographic is in the same format, and her death isn’t included.

This is Waldermar. Got him as a result of the Good Genes challenge from The Garden of Shadows. I’ve photoshoped him a bit, but still he’s pretty close to his original looks. I still don’t have lots of CC since it’s on another hdd, but I hope that soon I can have my CC back and edit this guy. He’s got some decent look.

That’s Simona, sim, I made after deleting my Downloads folder. I miss my d’loads, but much more I miss playing without bugs. At least, I can fill up my folder with junk anytime I want (and sure I will!).
