Make this dua no.122 as much as you can this Ramadan and during Qiyam ul Layl as we really need to rejuvenate our relationship with Allah. We often misunderstand Allah or judge him (which we really shouldn't) when we are faced with some misgiving. We also tend to think or say that we dont deserve this or that. The Prophet SAW said, "Allah the most High said, 'I am as my servant thinks (expect) I am. I am with him when he mentions Me. If he mentions Me to himself, I mention him to Myself; and if he mentions Me in an assembly, I mention him in an assembly greater than it. If he draws near to Me a hand's length, I draw near to him an arm's length. And if he comes to me walking, I go to him to speed.'" {SAHIH AL-BUKHARI} We need to put our trust completely in Allah and not misjudge Him for any of our shortcomings because whatever He has prescribed for us, is in our best interests. Surah Kahf contains 4 most-talked about incidents of all times in the Quran and each of them holds many lessons for us to learn. Allah created this world for us, human beings. To test us, who among us is the best in terms of deeds. Who, when provided with a blessing pays his gratitude to Allah or who uses that blessing in the best manner possible. Do we use our blessings in a right way or abuse them? Do we tend to forget all about Allah when everything's great and call for Him only in times of need? Something to ponder on. Incident of People of the Cave teaches us that if we entrust our lives with Allah we will never be disappointed. And that faith in Allah is everything, we should guard it with life. Those young men gave up everything just for Allah and Allah in turn protected them from others and made them an example in Quran for us to learn from. They lost everything here but gained everything There. SubhanAllah. Incident of the Man who had a garden teaches us that dont be proud of your blessings but always be thankful to Allah for giving you all that. It is His will that you have all of that and if He wants He can take it all back from you in a matter of seconds. You see, nothing in this world belongs to us but only our deeds. Do not put your faith in your assets that they will protect you from harm because thats a kind of Shirk,only Allah has the power to do so. Thinking that since you got everything here, its apparent that you will be provided with it in Hereafter as well. Having it all here is a part of the test that this world is. Material wealth can not help us when the time comes. Power and wealth cause absolute corruption. Ramadan is around the corner and the month of Shaban just began. Its been said that Shaban is a month to prepare ourselves for Ramadan. So maybe we should start doing that. {Ibrahim said: "And who despairs of the Mercy of his Lord except those who are astray?"} [Al-Hijr:56] {All the praises and thanks are to Allah, Who has given me in old age Ismail and Ishaq. Verily, My Lord is indeed the All-Hearer of invocations} [Ibrahim:39] Ibrahim AS was given the glad tidings of two sons at a very old age which was a miracle in itself and at which he was quite in shock. But the angels comforted him by saying that dont be surprised, Allah is the Most Merciful and He does what He wants and whenever He wants. The news which we brought to you is true. At which Ibrahim AS started praising Allah and thanked Him for blessing him with the good news of two sons. There are times when we ask Allah of something, sometimes we get it in a jiffy but at other times we have to be patient and wait for when the time is right. Instead of feeling gloomy and dejected we should repeat these words to ourself {Allah is the All-Hearer of all invocations} We should be hopeful of good things and just wait for our turn because Allah is the Most Merciful. And then comes the verse from Surah Hijr which talks about the same incident but mentions a different thing. When the angels told Ibrahim AS about the good news at which he was surprised and the angels asked him not to feel despair in the mercy of Allah. So Ibrahim replied saying whats mentioned in the verse above that I am not disappointed in the mercy of Allah but people who have gone astray and dont have faith in Allah are the ones who feel disappointed when they dont get what they asked or hoped for. People of faith never lose hope in the mercy of Allah and their patience never waver at the time of affliction. Sometimes when we are at the lowest ebb in our life, we see darkness everywhere and no sign of light. Just close your eyes and kneel down infront of Allah, talk to Him about your pain, your sorrows, your worries. He will surely help you. Whatever you go through in your life has been ordained by Allah. Hazrat Yusuf AS went through so many trails and tribulations but he never lost hope in Allah and beared it all with perseverance and patience. He believed firmly that whatever Allah has prescribed for him is in his best interests. Hazrat Yaqub AS faced the loss of his beloved son but his patience and faith in Allah never wavered. He never pointed fingers at his sons when he knew they were responsible for Hazrat Yusuf's disappearance. Instead he fought his sorrows with patience which got rewarded in the end. They were reunited. When we face an affliction we should bear it through patience and taqwa and the end result will be in our favor. Instead of complaining infront of others we should pour our hearts infront of Allah as He is the one who heals them. Allah is always on our side. I went to three funerals today The first one of a boy who was only six months. He was born, but died before he could live. The second of a girl who had lived for two decades but was only beginning to understand the meaning of life. One afternoon of swimming ended her. The water began to swallow her screams and soon after swallowed her. The third of a man whose hair was beginning to grey; who sighed more than he smiled. He was diagnosed with Cancer. Scientist said that 4 out of 5 people die from this sickness; They promised him that he was the fifth. But they couldn’t keep their word. I have been staring at the ceiling for the past five hours trying to make sense of the people that are gone. It’s funny isn’t it, how we’re so attached to a life that promises us death as soon as we are born. Time is limited, but we don’t know by how much. Death can arrive when you’re 12 months old or when you’re 12 years old. Death is not limited to age. Then how can we put off practicing Islam to when were “older”? If you can die today, aren’t you already old?
