Reverie Resolution 7 is the greatest rpg of all time, a true childhood classic even with it's flaws - I'll never forget being ambushed by the Watercooler in the Shinyi Company building that happens when you try to climb the 99 stairs instead of taking the elevator or spending hours in the Golden Saucer doing the Thundersnail races. The songs are also pretty recognizable, although SOME songs are definitely too recognizable on the internet - We have perfectly good boss songs such as "Burning Fight" which plays for every boss, "G-O-N-E-R" which, granted, only plays like six times in the game for G-O-N-E-R Types G, A, S, T, E and R bosses, the theme "Those Chosen by the Prophecy" that plays during THAT scene - pic related - is what makes it so iconic but nooo, EVERYBODY and their mother talks about and uses "Heartless Angel"

Seriously though, going to actually tag the spoilers this time and reply to the chain properly, I'm sorry about the many errors submitting this on my part as I genuinely haven't used tumblr properly in ages and the latest chapters alongside this reply chain awakened my art muse, hopefully there is no snafus or 404s in this reblog and if there are STILL problems I will cry. For anyone wondering about art context; I tried to impliment Ralsei's "oh things blur in the dark" to blur together the Dess/Knight armour, it probably could be done a little better but I'll make the Dessiroth pun

So, here’s a weird question. I’m aware that there is a lot of different names for irl video games (Planet Bound, Keeby). But I’m curious of the name for Final Fantasy. Or if there is one. I would love their reaction to the franchise.

In most cases, there are analogs to the series we have over here in the world of Deltarune. "Super Smashing Fighters" was the first direct one we got. "The Sblurfs" was the most recent one from Chapter 3.

So I took that idea and suplexed it into the ground with stuff like "McDongles" and "Planetbound". So naturally Final Fantasy would also have an analog. Though I'm undecided on the name. "Endless Epic" comes to mind, but it's not 100% the same meaning (you gotta stick to the alliteration).

I do like, however, that Tetris keeps the same name here and in the canon of Twin Runes.

[Twinrunes] Deltarune Desss Doodles

posting more twitter stuff over here on tumblr, this is all of based on @akanemnon twinrunes designs and, sometimes, who I feel I'm slightly harrassing with my occassional silly sausage doodles. Also yes, I am aware that the Batter/OFF Dess I doodled earlier has become hilarious in hindsight now Toby is making OFF soundtrack. I'll begin posting with a "The Holiday Family having Christmas themes can be applied to books or songs" idea I had, which has text on it to explain the gist of what I was going for, that the undertale/deltarune variants could have vastly different "Christmas" themes, for example Undertale December is Yuletide since not just an ocean pun, it's ironically different from Snowdin's entire esthetic with King Asgore being Santa and her dad being Rudolph.

Next up is a sort of "So, what WOULD Akane's Dess look like now" doodle because technically, it's been like 7 years since they've seen her so the reference I'm using? It's actually out-of-date since it's her school design, she'd be an actual adult monster now.

I then decended into Dark World Sillyness when I realized I could make this pun, I REALLY want to draw her with the baseball bat extending off the panel to complete the reference, but to be honest I can see "Summon a giant Basketball to nuke the world" being a actual Toby-Fox type attack since Chapter 2 had queen use a Baseball Moon. Also fun fact: Akanenom drew a Mario and Luigi styled Kris and Frisk so it makes this reference even funnier.

Next... Is just me messing around with Knight designs, Dess is depicted as a knight a lot in the fandom and, while I understand WHY - my personal thought is Dess's final dark world design is likely to be similar to Susie's since it adds elements to the susie/noelle interactions- , I also think we might be cutting off many interesting Dark World Concepts for December Holiday by just sticking to "she has to be a knight and nothing else" train of thought

And finally, Sonic referencial sillyness Because haha, Sonic and the BLACK KNIGHT. With Me would also be a fantastic song to use/reference since the Final Chapter might be based on Gerson's Lord of The Hammer , but also I want there to be massive emotional payoff to the fact Kris, Noelle, Asriel and December actually are friends: I know Akane probably won't use the Paladin design, so I at least want Kris and December to essentially have a final boss showdown between one another similar to Sonic/Merlina, especially if it's highlighted how they are opposites: Kris REALLY wanted horns but will never have them, December removes her horns but the Dark World forces them on her. Kris wants to leave his Light World life behind to go on Dark World Adventures for a day, and Dess wants to leave the Dark World to go home even if it's for a night, and of course Kris may get to see Frisk grow up but Dess will NEVER get to see Noelle do the same. There's just so much that can go between them in a finale, it's a lot of pressure to live up to the hype.

Reblogging to remind Akane to put this on twitter as well, my art muse is a fickle mistress but having an actual Dark World design for Asriel is something I've sort of been waiting to see, since I can compare it with a previous Asriel design Akane did ages ago when Dark Lord Temmie was done for similarities/differences between Undertale and Deltarune reasons.

Deltarune Doodles

I havn't been posting twitter stuff over here on tumblr, this is all of @akanemnon twinrunes stuff - I got inspired by their designs for Dess, both the Deltarune one and Undertale one, and sort of did a bunch of my own stuff

I honestly hope Akanemon considers a sort of parralel plot with them, since the idea that Undertale Dess and Noelle could go through something like Deltarune Dess and Noelle did is kino, especially if Kris and Flowey are there as well - It has lots of potential as an idea, like Akane could really run with True Labs having a Dark World section and going "ooh time is a flat circle and Kris has to deal with today being THAT day - the day the bunker was opened - and everything that happened before is happening AGAIN because he just HAD to exist in Undertale", it could honestly be suspenseful having Kris essentially having a mental meltdown thinking about that past event repeating while spooky stuff is happening to Undertale's Dess and Noelle

I gotta ask, will the subject of piano come up between Frisk and Kris? I know the only song Frisk has (probably) ever played is Undertale's piano puzzle one, so it might be nice for Kris's interest/skill in the instrument to actually be shared between the two of them, even if the songs Frisk might learn are going to be the simpler Undertale ones like Bergentrückung

It’s such a cute thing, especially since you could have Kris play songs that have his own personal stories attached to them, like “I played this song in the hospital, it’s called “Fallen Down”, “I played this in Noelle’s house on halloween once, I call it “Entry 17” with a possibility of “Hey, do you want to hear an original piece of mine? I call it “Don’t Forget”, and this is how it goes...”

Deltarune Mood Again

This Christmas I’m just in a Deltarune mood I guess, so here have a big wishlist/ wall of text ramble. I’ll try to summarise - Basically, I’d like Ralsei to start having similar mechanics to the Darkners we fight, simply because I think having the ability to send Ralsei back to Castle Town via the Revruit mechanic as interesting. Also, I hope Toby Fox plays with the Titles in Deltarune ACTUALLY doing something for retaining them, even if those changes arn’t huge - it’d add a lot of replayabilty simply by having titles retained to the end become Permanent Lvl8 Titles that will always remain, so you Don’t Forget what you have done AND possibly make Chapter 1 slowly open up to Weird potential (since you’d possibly ALWAYS start at Chapter 1 for Title Retainment challenges, which would give permanent rewards that MIGHT change Chapter 1 just a tiny bit)
