rant time cus I finally got around to watching avengers endgame and the ending with steve SUCKS

from what I know I think they needed a reason to not have Steve/Captain America v1 show up again cus of contract shit which sure, but there are much better IN CHARACTER ways to do that

first of all: Peggy is great and all but that whole plot line is at most a 'I dated her in highschool' level of relationship. he kissed like 1 time

second: he loves bucky way to much for that. just no. even if u somehow, trhough and enormous amount of homophobia and heteronormativity think that they aren't in love and don't at any point think about marrying eachother when they find out thats legal, their bond is far to strong to be sacrificed by steve for peggy. no.

third: remember all of age of ultron? that part where it's essentially implied that steve can't age? whered that go marvel??

fourth: same movie, different aspect: "God's righteous man. Pretending you could live without a war." -Ultron. He deserves to retire yes but 1) theres no way he actually would (this is the kid from brooklyn who fought when he could barely breathe) 2) he would want to be around just in case (remember half of the reason he took issue with the accords? "What if there is somewhere we need to go, and they don't let us?" -Steve) he would stay in his time just in case he's needed 3) he should retire with bucky, the only person whose been there for almost every part of his life, or at least somewhere where bucky is involved

so, my solution?

he comes back, gives the sheild to sam, finds a place to have a home where bucky would also live whenever he wasnt busy with his stuff, and ignores the outside world except for major updates (think he has a single phone with numbers to all the important people but otherwise he can just live his artist life inside his house and get updates from bucky on when he'll be home next)

the closest to in character that I think we would ever see of Steve "fighting bullies since I couldn't breathe right and running into war to save my best friend against orders twice" Rogers retiring and not showing up again

and this is only really an option cus I understand that actors cannot stay with one movie franchise for their whole career and everyone would notice if you switched out chris evans

I sit here for these moments, watching their names go by. waiting during these seconds that they do not have; they must keep running; to keep from adding another moment to this long list. each moment brings another tear, but there are far too many. I think of the moments I had when I was like each one: I fed from my mother at her warm breast, I began to crawl, I learned to walk or maybe talk, I started reading, I met new friends in preschool, then moved on to kindergarten, I moved up each level as all I worried about was the next math quiz or english assignment, at most worried about the wellbeing of a friendship. I did not have to worry about the wellbeing of that friend, or classmate, or teacher, or family member, or mentor. nor did I have to face that black void. we have years to approach it, some less, some more. but nonetheless so many years. and yet here they are. at most 2 years older, only including the childrens names. and they have entered this void headfirst, hoping to find those that entered before them. and waiting to catch others that might come after. some do not even know how to catch a tennis ball quite yet, they are too small. but they are here, catching bodies; keeping them from breaking any more. 🇵🇸🖤

Yeah - and so will Trump. Like, if you don't vote for Biden, Trump will win, and he will continue to send aid to Israel - in fact, he will likely send MORE aid to Israel. That's the reality of the world we live in.

And, to be honest, any US president will support Israel. Because the USA is Israel's ally. That's how foreign policy works.

So who do you prefer?

Biden, who has helped lgbtq rights, reproductive rights, infrastructure, the environment, lowered medication costs, supported unions, and done MANY good, progressive things,

Or Trump, who we already know is awful. Who we already know will destroy any human rights Biden managed to gain. Who will not help the environment. Who will not help trans people, or immigrants, or women.

Because those are your two choices. And if you think they're the same, you are dangerous to all marginalized people.

anyway: writing I did

there is this girl.

she wishes for love, she wants for someone

but noone ever proposes an offer

she stays confused waiting

it is because her heart is meant only to fill her ribs

but it fills more than just the room she resides in

it fills more than the campus of her school

more than even the city she lives in

it expands so far past her that she cannot imagine how large it is

and it hurts to know that any small thing can erupt that enormous bubble

so she puts shields around it

she has learned to control her emotions far better than many others ever will

and yet she seems so immature because her small breakdowns are their largest and she will never be able to escape the grandiosity of her emotions fully

she is just a girl

but she has learned her emotions far better than most adults

she can help control others

and she must

because if they explode, she will too

and that cannot be afforded

so she waits for someone to defuse her emotional bomb

and until then

she hides in her safe small space

and hopes that if she explodes

she is the only one hurt

Yeah, yeah, Writeblr is a community and all that. But I get it.

Some of us have anxiety disorders. Some of us are (or were once) minors on the internet who had it drilled into us to never make our presence known in online spaces lest we get stalked or groomed.

It's okay if interacting is outside of your comfort zone.

Some of us aren't actually on tumblr enough to make making a Writeblr intro worth it.

Some of us prefer to take a few months, maybe years, observing the community to learn the rules. And let's face it, there is a huge learning curve to Tumblr culture. I came here from Pinterest in like 2018 and hooo boy was it intimidating!

Like, I was that 17 year old pinterest lurker with an anxiety disorder who was taught that internet safety meant "never comment on anything" who took a few years before I felt comfortable enough with tumblr culture to reblog things with tags, let alone make public posts.

So I guess what I am saying is, I can't judge. Because I've been there.

Writeblr is a community. And the community (for me) is the best part. And remember that if you don't contribute to the community you don't get to complain about it either. But this is also a public space. Silent observers are to be expected. And on my blog you are welcome.
