Things I’d like to see with Vampires in fiction: ⬇️

More Vampires without fangs. (Yes, I know very controversial and already straying away from traditional Vampire lore. But here me out, imagine a Vampire figuring out how to feed without fangs.)

More Vampires of color. Fortunately, we’re starting to see more of them. But I would like to see more and especially those from different parts of the globe.

Vampires that when newly turned are completely overwhelmed with their new abilities just collapse and blackout for a short period of time.

More psychological, horror, and thriller Vampire stories. That don’t revolve solely around romance.

I’d love to see more Vampires who prey on humans who are terrible/awful people. (Ex: murders, rapists, abusers of people, greedy evil billionaires, etc)

Less of Vampires being afraid of crosses. Like let’s be real here, would it make sense for a Jain in a village in southern India during the 12th century to be afraid of a cross? Nevertheless to know what it is.

Blood from humans that are sick or have diseases being dangerous to Vampires.

Okie dokie, that’s all folks. Maybe I’ll make another wishlist about Idk in the future. Lol 💖

honestly it's kind of both combined?? usually i have some kind of general thoughts about the character, y'know basic traits, then fill in the backstory and I go like "oh yeah, they'd be bitter because of this and that" or "yo they could be in love". i think there's nothing better than constantly discovering something new about OCs

Okay, question for the character creators out there: Do you first write the backstory and then decide the character’s personality/traits based on their past, OR do you first decide how the character’s personality/traits fit into the story and then write the backstory of how the character became the person you created?

I’m sure there is a lot of overlap and intermingling of the two during character creation, but PRIMARILY which do you do more? Personally, I lean more towards the second, but I’m curious to see the process of the majority!
