If you're against forced abortion, pro-choice is the position for you.
Pro-choice means the woman gets to choose. It means nobody has the right to force her to get an abortion. It means nobody should be allowed to pressure her. She decides if she wants to be pregnant. Not the government. Not any men or women in her life. Her.
A government that has the power to force you to give birth can just as easily force you to get an abortion. They don't care about you. The government having such intimate power over your body should be unthinkable.
Pro-choice means choice.

Just saw a trans community post where the subject in the post had a ton of internalized transphobia, and the poster telling him to kill himself.
Many of the replies agreed and said he should. What the fuck.
Tons of organizations, people, and government are already calling for our mass suicides or deaths, why should we encourage it in our own community? Do you think that will make our experience any safer, any better ? Hint: it won't.
Even if you just look at the transphobia aspect, why would a death be better than a reformation? Support and help go a much longer way in teaching and uplifting each other then scolding and calls for suicide. Not to mention clear infighting with no productivity.
Im just truly disgusted that some people's are so okay with telling others (who obviousoy got deep problems, and in this case, sucidial ideation) to kill themselves. There was no joke here, disgusting behaviour.

Why LGBTQ+ Representation Matters (And Why It’s Not Too Much to Ask)
LGBTQ+ representation matters. I mean, wouldn’t it be nice if LGBTQ+ characters were more than just a rarity? If they were given the same depth, care, and attention as other characters instead of being reduced to stereotypes or sidelined to the background?
Representation isn’t about “taking over” the media landscape. It’s about reflecting the world we actually live in, a world where LGBTQ+ people exist, thrive, and have meaningful, diverse experiences. Seeing that reality reflected on-screen or in a book is powerful, not just for us in the LGBTQ+ community but for everyone. It normalizes the fact that, hey, queer people are just people, and that’s really not a big deal.
For those who think seeing a gay or trans character is somehow upsetting or “too much,” let’s break it down a little further. Imagine growing up and watching all your favorite movies and shows but never seeing a single character that truly reflects who you are. Imagine feeling like your existence is either taboo, a punchline, or just doesn't exist. That’s the reality a lot of LGBTQ+ kids grow up with. And even as adults, it’s exhausting to keep being told, either directly or indirectly, that our stories aren’t “mainstream” enough to matter.
Now, think about how validating it is when you do see someone like you portrayed in a meaningful, authentic way. Suddenly, you don’t feel so alone. You don’t feel like there’s something wrong with you. It’s a reminder that your story has value, too.
And it’s not just about representation for us. It’s for everyone else, too. When people outside the LGBTQ+ community see more diverse characters and stories, it breaks down stereotypes and helps create understanding. It challenges assumptions like “all gay men are flamboyant” or “all lesbians are masculine.” When media shows us without only using the stereotypes, and instead as people with complex emotions, relationships, and lives, it helps the world see us for what we really are: human.
And let’s be honest: representation doesn’t hurt anyone. No one’s forcing you to watch a show with a trans protagonist or a movie where the love story is between two women. But their existence shouldn’t be a big deal either. If you’re okay with countless rom-coms about straight couples or action movies where the straight man gets with the straight woman, why is it a problem if the hero happens to be queer? If seeing a gay or trans character makes you uncomfortable, maybe it’s time to ask yourself why. Because the truth is, they’re just living their lives—on-screen and off—like everyone else.
When we have better LGBTQ+ representation, we create a world where kids can grow up seeing that it’s okay to be themselves. We create a space where ignorance and fear are replaced with understanding and compassion. And isn’t that something worth striving for?
At the end of the day, it’s not about making everything gay. It’s about making media a little more real, a little more inclusive, and a lot more human.

The United States sells more weapons of war than the rest of the world combined.

I think if you're responsible for selling more than half the world's deadly weapons you shouldn't get to be on the UN "Security Council" with the ability to veto calls for ceasefires and other binding resolutions. Conflict of interest. Major conflict of interest.

,🆘dont skip please save my family from the genocide🆘

I will take amoment of your time
My name is Shadi Issa. I am married and a father of three children: Tia (6 years old), Ibrahim (4 years old), and Sand (1.5 years old). We currently live in Deir al-Balah, located in central Gaza, after being forced to flee from northern Gaza where we previously lived in Beit Lahia. We, along with over a million other Palestinians, had to relocate to the southern part of Gaza, specifically to Rafah, where we experienced a period of relative stability until the outbreak of the conflict.

Before the war, I worked as an accountant and we enjoyed a peaceful and stable life in our home, which comprised five residential apartments occupied by my extended family and me. We had access to amenities such as a water well and a solar power system, and we cultivated olive trees on our land. Our lives were proceeding normally, and my children were about to start the school year, until the fateful day of October 7, 2023, when the war erupted, turning our lives into a living nightmare. Our home was bombed, destroying our dreams and future.
Our displacement journey began amidst the bombing and danger, leading us to makeshift shelters lacking basic necessities. We face daily struggles to find drinking water, which is often unsuitable for use. We currently live in a tent no larger than five square meters, which offers no protection from the summer heat or winter cold, and provides no defense against insects, scorpions, and snakes, which have impacted the health of our children.
We have endured immense pain and fear, witnessing death repeatedly. The situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, and all escape routes are blocked. Returning to northern Gaza is prohibited due to security barriers. After seven months in Rafah, where we faced further bombing and losses, we moved to Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, where we lost all our belongings.

Escaping Gaza to Egypt is not easy and requires significant funds to cover travel costs and other fees. The estimated cost is $5,000 per adult and $2,500 per child. The funds will be used to cover travel expenses and basic living costs in Egypt until we can rebuild our lives away from the ongoing conflict.

We are currently living in an extremely cramped tent, and we have lost everything we once had. I kindly ask for your assistance in raising $20,000, which will enable us to escape to Egypt, where we can be safe and start a new life, and where our children can attend school and have a chance at a normal life.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and will help save our lives. We urge you to support us and help us in this critical time.

I used to do cross country in high school, and there was this guy on the team that was wonderful. Great guy. But his advice to everyone that asked how to get good was to run 20k a day.
If you don't run, I'll just tell you, most people's bodies cannot take that kind of abuse. No matter how much you train, you will not be able to run 20k a day. It's like how you can't train to make your cuts heal faster. You recover as fast as you recover. So while a big part of what made this guy so succesful was the dedication and mental toughness needed to actually run 20k a day, an equally big part was that he healed like fucking Wolverine. And that's fine, but it would've been nice if he knew that and stopped telling new guys to commit suicide by jogging.
Different guy on the team ran like, 5-6k a day, which actually isn't all that much. His problem when he gave advice was that he didn't really get that 5-6k a day doesn't generally produce elite results for most people. He was lucky in the sense that he didn't have to work all that hard to get great results, and unlucky in the sense that if he pushed himself much further than that, he fell apart.
I think about those two whenever I get advice from succesful people. The very things that make them outliers also make their advice useless to most people. Worse, they're often outliers on totally separate ends of the same spectrum, so their advice will be contradictory.
