Some Kinkou character concepts, to go with Akali’s release. Check out new Akali on Universe along with all of Worldbuilding’s cool Ionia art. (Also, dat map while you’re at it!) Because the Kinkou are the paragon of Ionian harmony and balance, we played around with incorporating a lot of natural materials in their armor, with the zig-zag of the green and brown leaf-like wraps creating camouflage in the forest. Also I imagined more junior members wearing brighter or softer greens (e.g bottom row), with the tones becoming more muted and dark as they go up the ranks, like leaves changing with the seasons.

Fae’lor
“The fortress of Fae’lor was built upon the westernmost island of Ionia. Highly defensible, this place had remained for centuries, standing against countless foes, before being finally overrun after a long siege during the Noxian invasion...
Fae’lor, at the forgotten edge of the empire...
Noxus had not won the war, of course… but nor had Ionia.
Nevertheless, many seasons after the end of the campaign, Fae’lor remained under the invaders’ control. Thirty-three warships were currently docked here, as well as perhaps half that number of trader vessels and merchant ships. Over a thousand warriors of Noxus—a mix of veteran warbands hailing from the far corners of the empire—were stationed here...
Fae’lor was not originally intended as a fortress. Far from it, it was once a center of tranquility and guidance, where gifted young Ionians came, from far and wide, to learn how better to harness their own innate gifts. All that had ended years before Sirik had been born, and the island that had once been teeming with life, study and peace, became little more than a barren prison. Barely any vegetation grew on the island around the fortress now—only dry, brittle thorn-bushes and ghost-gray lichen was able to thrive. Birds and other wildlife, so abundant on the nearby islands, also shunned it now, except for the dark, hateful crows and ravens that had come with the Noxians.” - Excerpts from The Dreaming Cave
Underneath Fae’lor was formerly Syndra’s prison.
Arguably, this is the best, and perhaps only, foothold Noxus has in Ionia. An island is hard to besiege without a well-trained navy, and even harder against a tried-and-true fortress. Along with the current measurements of the length of this map comparatively to our world - I assume the channel between Fae’lor and Navori is around 560 km (350 mi) long and 240 km (150 mi) wide. The large river into the main island is good for conducting raids or even larger invasion into Ionia; or alternatively allowing for Ionian traders or spies who have turned to Noxus. Although, the isle of Fae’lor recently suffered a large quake and damage during the release of Syndra, so it’s defenses are weakened for now.

Talking About the Map
This is one of the biggest developments in the knowledge of what is where when the narrative talks geographically in stories. We can understand geographical advantages and difficulties with much more ease since it is a topographical map with some geopolitical borders.
I will write about some locations, most notably the Noxian occupied Fae'lor in Ionia.
Personally, I can't wait to see how this map evolves over time with addition of new regions, cities, locations, bookmarks and more! With only three of the twelve seas, we've got much more to look forward to seeing - I greatly appreciate and admire the amount of work and dedication that went into creating this map and webpage.
