the arcane fandom can argue about literally anything, but the one thing we all agree on is that ekko, the boy savior, is the most unproblematic character ever, and that we all absolutely love him. while everyone else is caught up in gay tragedy of all kinds, my boy ekko is just over here trying to fix his goddamn tree

Supacell was absolutely fire. Well overlapped storylines, well placed controversy, ties to current events; plenty of great, note-worthy moments.

As a mixed person with some not-supportive family members due to racially charged differences, I appreciated Rodney’s storyline. Michael and Dionne’s conversations felt relatable. I appreciated Sabrina’s healthcare experience.

Looking forward to season 2. Protect your own, no matter what.

I think one of my least favorite things people tend to say about matt murdock is that he’s ‘playing at being helpless’ or ‘acting like a helpless blind man’ or whatever when he has to use his cane, or say he is visually impaired to someone being rude or cruel to him. Besides it being…uh, questionable, to say that at the very least, I think it misses the point that he is in fact unable to do anything about the ableism he faces. He isn’t pretending to be blind in those instances- he is blind. No amount of being able to punch and kick can do anything in an instance where someone with power over him- a dirty cop, for example- is trying to humiliate him for what he is. It’s what gives Matt as a character a really relatable type of frustration, and one that I think is especially relevant with what’s been in the news lately- knowing that for all your abilities, all you’ll ever really be seen as is the diversity hire. Matt has had to quite literally hear all of this shit from the time he was nine years old and just grin and bear it

Like…is it a wonder he is a stunted, manipulative, angry, self-absorbed and emotionally hurt person constantly caught between his ultimately good nature and his self loathing. Is it a wonder he finds cathartic release in beating the shit out of his enemies

what makes Matt Murdock one of my favourite characters is how ideologically muddled he is. Ep 3 of born again was a great study of this. Him sitting in the court chamber, choral music playing, fiddling his devil horn like a rosary, it was just shy of heavy handed but I loved it. His ideological beliefs are pulling him in different directions and are overdue to rip him apart, again. His crisis of faith with his Catholicism is long established. Being a lawyer and a vigilante are diametrically opposed ways of being. That tension is the undercurrent that runs through everything, it will go unresolved till the end of his story. The conversation he had Hector with in the cell was projection, deep down Matt knew he’d suit up again, telling him not to was futile but he had to say it, if only for himself.

What's Arospec? it is a spectrum of a romantic orientation of someone who has little to no romantic attraction. you feel that you do not need a romantic relationship to feel complete or fulfilled. You don’t experience “crushes” or being “in love” with someone else. In a world where romance is glorified, aromantic indivs are most likely to be alienated, and thats where arospec visibility week comes in!

So you don't feel love? Yes, we don’t feel or reciprocate ‘romantic’ love. But lucky for us, love comes in different forms! in fact, aro ppl are inclined to feel 3× the love through platonic/familial love, all my friends have such a special place in my heart, and my family will always be my day one. We literally cannot love anyone more than this. There really shouldn’t be this misconception that the love that alloromantics feel is somehow a more complete or more powerful love than what we feel. It’s just a different kind of love. Aromantic ppl are full of love, they're not cold-hearted stubborn people!

“noo you're going to die alone!” Society places an enormous amount of importance on romance and romantic relationships. To someone unfamiliar with aromanticism or unable to see alternate life paths, not experiencing romantic attraction might seem sad or lonely. But again, aromantic people (and all people, really!) can find fulfillment and happiness outside of romance.

How you can contribute! is by not saying "you haven't found your person yet" or any derogatory/dismissing statements, by not alienating us, by being aware that not all people are allo, by understanding our boundaries and not crossing them, by denying amatonormativity or the thought of changing our orientation, or by simply respecting our orientation!

p.s if you're confused weather or not you're aro, it's normal to be confused, I had to figure it out for 3 years and yes you can ask me questions :)
