it is embarrassing that it took me this long to realize that I can just go to the store and buy a salt shaker full of MSG but it’s time to live deliciously

They should invent a method of asking for reassurance that nobody secretly hates you that doesn't make people secretly hate you.

Can’t stop thinking about Og E-Soul being “faceless”. The sheer amount of stupid situations..

I wonder how far Og E-Soul was willing to go with the whole “being a faceless hero” thing. Was it a complete secret? Did his friends or family know that he was E-Soul? Did any of his coworkers see his face?
I am getting the vibe that E-Soul was purposely designed to appear as a “classic superhero” you know. With secret identity and “I don’t care about fame I want to save people” theme going on. If that’s the case then he probably kept the secret from everyone except one or two closest people. Or maybe I’m completely wrong lmao

I immediately looked up etymology origins of mouse and rat to see if I could figure why English differentiates and that was less than helpful. My initial guess was the bubonic plague but it predates that.
Maybe it has to do with the pest control angle? Cats that are good at hunting for pests are called mousers. (and anecdotally cats don't know what to do with dead rats but will kill and eat mice)
Meanwhile ratters are typically specialized breeds of dog. Mostly terriers??? (But dogs who go after mice sucessfully are a rarity)
The first major distinction I was taught as a kid was fuzzy tail vs naked tail.
a mystery ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
on the flip side, English doesn't differentiate between extended family members linked to you via a female vs male relative or whether they're older vs younger than you/your parents, it just slaps everyone with grandparent/aunt/uncle/cousin and calls it a day

there's nothing i like more as a computer program than a long period of silent contemplation - not doing anything, not rushing anywhere, just standing here and enjoying this moment with the user. oh, it seems once again he has summoned my beautiful and ruthless wife Task Manager. hello, my darling! what are you doing with that long cruel scimitar

English has different words for mouse and rat but in Chinese they're both the same creature (laoshu) so I asked my mom well how do you differentiate between mice and rats. She, clearly having never felt the need to do so, was like uhh big laoshu and little laoshu I guess. Then I went online to see how the difference between (the English words) "mouse" and "rat" was being explained to CN->EN learners and there are numerous articles delving deep into the analysis. Bigger vs smaller, indoors vs outdoors, cute and favorable connotations vs evil and ugly, tail length, fear factor, emphasis on the fact that you cannot call it a "computer rat." Much thought is being expended on this little mystery of the English language
#patter#it also occurs me to wonder why it's translated as year of the rat... seems like it also could have been year of the mouse

There was clearly no need for him to take the lightning strikes shirtless. Xunfeng was there just 2 seconds ago, fully clothed, taking bolt after bolt. And yet the dramatic ripping off of outer robes to reveal defined but not overdone DFCQ back muscles, really takes this scene to the next level
#they fully commit to every bit of melodrama and that's what makes it hit#love between fairy and devil
