Stolen
It stole fucking everything from me.
Figuring it out alone.
Being alone.
Nothing to see.
I could’ve been a young adult—
It hurt too much to be.
Now I’m 29,
And I don’t know who’s me.
I wish I had friends.
I wish I had me.
I wish someone had really seen me.
I still feel lonely—
But I hope I won’t always be.

Nobody tells you
Nobody tells you how you fall apart—
There’s no way to know.
First, it’s your heart broken in half—
No, it’s actually shattered into hundreds of tiny parts.
The fragments never quite come together,
At least, not the way you hope.
Because now you’re missing one,
Lost somewhere deep in darkness, trying to cope.
You feel broken, unwhole,
Losing all that once made you bright.
But you find a way to build it all—
Rising up again with all your might.
And that doesn’t change.
You’re still cracked, still tired, still hoping—
That maybe one day you’ll find
The missing piece to bring
Some kind of wholeness back to your mind.

The Long Thaw
Everything froze—
You left us.
You didn’t choose, God knows.
My mind was gone,
I wasn’t me,
Frozen in what could be.
I froze as me—
No path ahead,
No light to see.
I thought I’d never know me.
The pain you left was clear,
Fractures through us all.
Wishing you near,
So I wouldn’t feel small.
Covered in frostbite,
I try to warm, to return to me—
To be me for you, wondering if you can even see.
The pain that courses tests my might—
But maybe, one day,
I’ll thaw because I’ll be bright.

Parts —
You lose parts.
You give parts.
You take parts.
You find parts.
But when it shatters —
the parts go.
You can reassemble it,
but the centre’s gone.
When the centre’s gone —
the parts turn to dust,
because the glue that held it
is looking down
from above.
