Dreaming of His Little Lily

A/n: Sorry for answering this so late. School has been kicking my butt and this is definitely not my best. I hope you like it, though.

Polly didn't quite remember the night before. She'd always wondered how Aberama ended up in her bed, but she was never upset about it. He’d always smell like grass that was freshly cut. She enjoyed it a lot. It reminded her of days that weren't filled with constant violence and death. He liked to call her his little lily, because she seemed so beautiful and pure despite how impure he’s seen her be.

 He knew he wanted to marry her. He just didn’t know how to tell her yet. Tommy thought it was an okay idea. Of course, the threat of a beating came after the approval. Aberama didn’t need approval, though. Polly was a grown woman and could make decisions for herself. That’s what he loved most about her; Polly Gray could most definitely handle herself.

His little lily was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. His previous wife–the mother of his child–was quite beautiful, but not like Polly. He had imagined her in a dress that accentuated her beauty, one that would show off how classy yet smart she was. However, seeing her walk down the aisle of the church and the pews packed of family and friends, some of which were travelers, was absolutely the best day of his life. After losing his son, he was distraught. She made it a bit better. A little less depressing and a bit of fun. Suddenly he couldn’t breathe. Polly shook him awake from his dream and he opened his eyes to see the love of his life. It was just a dream but he’d hoped to make it a reality.

Crazy things had happened, but Barney could still remember every single word.

There weren’t many things he liked to think of that belonged to that part of his life, but these did. The words had kept him alive, they were the only thing worth remembering. Better than the padded cell, better than the darkness, better than the cries he didn’t want to hear anymore, even if they were still stuck in his head, coming out at night when he didn’t need them at all. Sleep was important, he didn’t want to miss out on it because of something like this. He didn’t need this voices anymore, he had a future now. Tommy had found a job for him and he was back where he belonged.

It’s time for the Garrison Fest!

Prepare for some weeks full of amazing fanworks!

Here we are! Maybe you’ve already prepared your pens, pencils and other things you need, maybe you are gonna improvise … but this or that way, amazing that you’re here too!

What this fest is about: Every week there’ll be a prompt list with different types of prompts. Starting today (January 4), going on for 8 weeks! Share your amazing ideas and talk about what you came up with with others!

Prompt types:

Topic prompt: one word prompt, a trope or something similar

Art prompt: a famous or not so famous painting that might help your imagination

Character prompt: characters some people might forget about, but they’re there and might help you to tell interesting stories

Ship prompt: a rare pair (romantic or platonic) that might deserve more fanworks, if you’re interested in a challenge

Peaky quote prompt: wise words

Lyrics prompt: sometimes songs can be very inspiring

Gif prompt: many aesthetically pleasing scenes from the show

Allowed:

Not allowed:

every ship with more than 100 works for it on AO3: Tommy/Alfie and Tommy/Grace at the moment
