i genuinely don’t understand how you could come to that conclusion, but all my posts are my own asks and words. please, do send another ask and explain why you thought i was— in any way— a bot.

can we please— i’m begging here— normalize liking popular characters. that might sound odd at first, but hear me out.

first and by far most revelant example: shadow milk cookie. he started to get REALLY popular when beast yeast first came out, quickly exploding for various different reasons. the love for him, however, quickly brought hate. why? for no other reason than his popularity. “but he’s overglazed!” he has a genuinely interesting story and background everybody is still figuring out. hes popular because people genuinely like him. he’s a good character. overrated doesn’t exist.

second example— sebastian solace. slightly less so because people the reasons for people liking him are more widespread. every time i see someone bring up liking him, theres always that one comment— “he’s a virtual fish”. so???

how does it harm you in any way if somebody likes or is attracted to a fictional character? how is it hurting you if a popular character is- well- popular? why do you think it’s so bad for a genuinely well written character to get the attention they deserve?

but that’s not all. if your favorite character in a series, game, or anything is a background or hardly mentioned, you get hated on and accused of just wanting to be different.

if your favorite character/fo/anything is popular, you’re “basic”. if they’re little known, you’re an attention seeker.

just like whatever you want. at the end of the day, your preferences don’t change because of other people’s opinions.

the constant infantilizing candy apple cookie gets put through actually disgusts me to no end. do not let the world come across a shorter woman who dresses and acts cutesy, apparently she’s immediately a child and watered down to be some other character’s daughter

it’s always “just fiction, doesn’t matter” when it’s an abusive/toxic relationship and/or sa but it suddenly becomes real when it comes to pronouns

people will spend so long ranting about how a “morally gray” character is mischaracterised then turn around and headcanon a serial murderer with zero emotions or empathy as a misunderstood teddy bear with attachment issues

hot take but i don’t think fear and violence should be used to correct a child’s behavior, “spanking” is abuse and teaches nothing, children are people and deserve respect as much as anyone, yelling is an unhealthy way to display frustration, the reason your child is “sneaky” is because they feel like they can’t trust you, food and clothes are the bare minimum, and last but not least controversial: educate your sons AND daughters

creation. creation is so much. creation is expression, creation is art, passion, admiration.. all in one.

when you create something, a character, a story, a drawing, whatever, you’re channeling your past experiences, likes, dislikes, skills, and talents all into one single piece of work.

you’re taking a piece of yourself and displaying it, whether it be for all to see, for friends to see, or for no eyes at all.

even a distant memory from your childhood can impact what you create. little decisions and actions can create a domino effect that could eventually lead to something amazing. a passion project could become mainstream. a small indie show could hit the entire world, all become of one persons vision.

that’s something AI could never do. ai doesn’t have likes, dislikes, a distinct style, preferences, or memories. ai was created to feed into whatever role humans give it. ‘write this’, ‘draw this’, ‘explain this’.

can it be useful? yes. i won’t pretend it isn’t. ai is one of humanity’s greatest inventions, but at the same time, the most harmful to those who had just become comfortable with expressing themselves.

ai has nothing in it that can come close to the love and care that goes into creation. it can’t capture all the little details, can’t throw in little references, can’t get inspired by an artist it admired. it does what it’s told and nothing more.

i’m gonna need my inhaler for this one

one thing that i see much more often than i’d like to is media with a genuine message or point being shoved aside and ignored because the very same piece of media has lgbt themes. let me explain.

first example: dead plate. this is a game made by studio investigrave (love them) that focuses on depending on another person and sacrificing yourself and others just to make them happy. that’s the entire message of the game, as seen with rody and manon and vince and rody.

rody was slowly killing himself just to make manon happy. he broke down and refused to accept it when she left him, continuing to call her his girlfriend and slaving away at a job he didn’t like just to gain her approval, but by then, she was gone.

but i hardly see anybody bring her or their relationship up. why? because they’d rather focus on men kissing eachother (i giggled).

everybody pushes the games message aside to focus on vince and rody, some even saying manon deserved to be cooked because she ‘got in the way’. those same people got mad once RIP (rot in paradise) was released, attacking rachel. why?

because the two main characters, june and ryan, weren’t both men. i’m serious. someone sent a question to her asking if he was trying to make them mad by adding straight people. they weren’t even in a relationship, and rach stated that romance was never a focus.

there are examples of this outside of SIG as well. ever since the book of bill released and we got more of an insight on gravity falls characters and their relationships, most notably bill and stan, most of the fan work surrounding it is ship art of either bill and ford, ford and mcgucket, or ford, mcgucket, AND stan.

in short, the problem isn’t lgbt themes. it never was. it’s the lgbt themes being treated as media’s only relevant feature.

this one is for all the gravity falls fans

mabel. in the end, there’s not a lot to say about her. she’s 12, 13 by the end of season 2, likes colorful things and being girly, typical tweenage things.

so why does she get so much hate? i’ll explain. throughout the series, she constantly pushes aside her brother’s warnings of danger and acts based on what she wants instead of what’s best for them.

examples of this are in season one episode one tourist trapped where she ignores dipper’s warning of norman possibly being a zombie, which, fair enough. at this point in time, they hadn’t been made fully aware to the oddities of gravity falls, and nobody really believes in zombies, so she wasn’t wrong here.

season one episode nine where she reverts and scrambles the timeline for waddles, ‘destroying’ any chance of dipper getting close to wendy. let’s be honest, that relationship was doomed from the start. sure, three years isn’t a big age gap, but 12 and 15 is a ginormous maturity gap, and wendy ends up rejecting him later in the series either way, plus both of them messed around just to get what they wanted, so they were both equally at fault.

season one episode twelve where mabel pressures dipper to go trick-or-treating even though he’s ‘sick’. the entire events of the episode (likely) wouldn’t have happened if dipper hadn’t been rude to the summerween trickster, only getting them deeper into trouble upon the candy barrel and nearly getting them killed. so, again, mabel wasn’t wrong.

season one episode fifteen where mabel essentially guilt-trips dipper into sacrificing his summer job (and opportunity to get closer to wendy) for a merman she met in the pool. mabel was trying to do a good thing, if mermano stayed in the pool he likely would’ve been discovered and killed sooner or later.

many more examples follow this, but i don’t feel like listing them all,,, the most prevalent, though, is in season two episode 17, dipper and mabel vs the future, where mabel guilt-trips dipper into giving up what could be the best opportunity of his life to stay with her. i agree, this one was kinda bad, but she was about to lose her brother, the only person she felt like she could talk to for god knows how long.

and even so, at the end of the weirdmageddon arc she was fully ready to embrace whatever choice dipper made, but by then he decided to stay and likely took up the opportunity again when they were a bit older.

mabel defenders and haters alike need to realize. yes, she was selfish at times, but each time was for a perfectly valid reason a twelve year old girl would reasonably have. and by the end of the series, she betters herself and learns to see things from others perspective as well.

TAKES AN INCREDIBLY DEEP BREATH

curly. captain curly, grant curly, whatever his name is. curly. an enabler, an abuser’s ally, blabbity blabbity blah.

we all know what happens to him. jimmy crashes the ship after being crushed under the weight of his actions, curly tries to stop it and takes the damage ruining his body forever, is assaulted by jimmy whenever he gives him his meds, fed his own leg, and put into cryostasis to prolong his suffering rather than end it.

i see some people saying he still cares for jimmy even after the incident and only regrets what he did because it ended up in him being bedridden. and to that i say.. did you watch/play the game with a blindfold and your ears plugged???

did he act immediately after anya told him? no. should he have? yes. but we have to remember that he had just realized that his best friend— childhood best friend— was an abuser and a terrible person and he turned a blind eye to it.

no, that’s not an excuse for his actions, but so many people throw that away just to find an excuse to hate curly. hate him all you want, he’s not perfect, but he’s not the devil.

i think the developer’s games before mouthwashing, how fish is made and the last one and then another, portray curly’s thoughts while in the pod. he considers what he should’ve done instead and how he could be so naive, but ultimately has to face the reality of what his blindness lead to.

even so, after the confrontation with jimmy, curly was torn. he couldn’t do anything about it seeing as the ship needing a co-pilot and nobody else was qualified enough, but he wishes he did something, anything. because inevitably, his neglect lead to everybody else’s downfall.

there were two ways he could’ve avoided what happened: never recommend the job to jimmy, or put him in cryostasis the moment he found out and train somebody else to be co-pilot. he brought up the job because he wanted his best friend by his side during the long trip, and the idea of locking jimmy away hurt him, scared him even. so he remained idle by choice until he didn’t have one.

in short, there were a lot of things he could’ve done. he didn’t do them. he hurt and lead everyone to their doom. but i know that if he had a choice, he would take off his rose tinted glasses and act. they could never make me hate you curly
