Children, as in nature top seeds needs the best soil for the best growth conditions to flourish, are the citizens of “tomorrow” and the resources of the future and it is important that this group have stimulating and developing physical limits in their everyday sphere.

Vertical Garden House in Tokyo
Vertical garden house in Tokyo designed by Nishizawa is a narrow building which can be easily put between two buildings. It is a house, which includes all the necessary rooms in itself.
Tumblr media
“With no true facade, all that emerges in the anonymous front are the from bottom to top: the living room and kitchen on the ground floor, followed by the first bedroom on the floor above, moving on to a bathroom, then to a second bedroom, and finally to the roof-terrace, where a tiny room is located, used either as a guest room or extra storage. No interior walls divide the surface area into “rooms”.
Tumblr media
“Only full-height windows and curtains form the separation between the interior and the amenities placed in the exterior: a bathroom and laundry room, along with benches and planters functioning as parapets.”

House in the Moscow Region
I would like to write about this house because, firstly, it is situated in Moscow, secondly, it has quite interesting and beautiful as I think design, and, thirdly, its architect is M2 Architectural Group . I would like to tell you about the exterior of the building, so here it is.
Tumblr media
The main aim for architects was to consider a nature as mush as possible. The design and architecture of the building have to be site-sensitive in relation to its orientation and light capture, while interior has to have best views. One more challenge was that here are a lot of trees, which cant be cut.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Building facades are finished with larch planks. Larch is also used in some parts of interior finishing: flooring and walls. This allowed the house to be insertion into the surrounding landscape organically. Also two colors, a lot of glass, and light spots make the building very modern, light weight and interesting lighted.

Chrysalis Childcare Centre
This Chrysalis Childcare Center, which architect is Collingridge and Smith Architects in New Zealand. Originality of this center is that in the site there are two trees, which cannot be chop down. So architects came to an interesting idea how to build it.
Tumblr media
Architects said that the main problem and at the same time the solution of this problem was one thing - presence of trees. But for such building as childcare center trees will be very symbolic and beautiful solution.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The design of the center building is in creating the space around these two trees. It has a moon shape and the idea was that the trees personify the sky father and the building - earth mother, so the graceful curve of the building appears like two arms reaching out to the sky.

Smoking Room Grand Tree Musashikosugi
The smoking room situated in the shopping mall, designed by Hiroyuki Ogawa Architects in 2014 in Japan. The main and the key thing and concept of this room is that it is constructed so that there will always be clean air. In order to reach this the room has interesting design.
Tumblr media
Two important measures were taken. First, setting the carved wall and utilizing the character of the smoke - smoke is pulled to walls - let the smoke go out on the ceiling.
Tumblr media
Second measure was setting the fan between the ashtray and the exhaust outlet, so the smoke from people’s mouth are quickly drawn in. These two measures let the room always be fresh and do not let the smoke to stay in it.
Tumblr media
Talking about the design and materials - there is a wooden carved wall and the interesting thing is that one wall is covered with mirror-end, which reflects the room and make some illusion of smog.

Jordan Road Restaurant & Bar
The Jordan road restaurant & bar in China is designed by architecture bureau CAA. The main concept of this place is that here meet together Chinese “bamboo weaving” elements and western “Arch” structure. Interesting
Tumblr media
This sketch will help you with understanding the construction of the cafe. There are structure analysis, structure frame and internal space itself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I would like to show you some interesting details, which are in the design of the bar. For example, walls, which are made of brick, have their own concept and order. Look at this sketch and photo of wall -you can understand the structure by visual demonstration.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or on these next two photos - this is how made the corners of the Jordan road bar & cafe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This makes the effect of movable of brick, so we can see how they move from one point and position to another.
Next set of photos illustrates the wooden structure, which covers columns and roof from the inside.

House in Valley Street
The House in Valley Street was designed by Baran Studio Architecture in 2014 in California, USA. The surface is made of grey metal and steel, and around the entrance the wall is covered with light brown wooden boards. The building has an interesting ad unusual shape and that’s what I like in it.
Tumblr media
In the house I also like the way that windows are designed - they are very big or several small together. And they are situated on every wall so a lot of light comes into the building and the glass of windows makes the house lighter in weight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Interior of the house is made in simple way - so everything is white colored and has simple shapes. However there are also some interesting pieces of furniture, like bedside-table or near the chair, as you can see on the photo. Either the table in the center of hall or chandelier over the table are not usual.
Tumblr media
Here is one more photo of the exterior just to let you understand the view of the house more correct. Here also is some fireplace outside and several chairs for resting. On the ground there is pebble.
And also plans just for understanding what is where - ground and first floor.

Library Quarter
The Library Quarter, is also designed by MVRDV in 2013 inNetherlands, was built for the need for additional housing and combining it with library, offices and supermarket near the Mountain Book.
Tumblr media
Houses are traditional shaped, but this is all about traditions. The main material for building was brick and it was a new look for traditional using of it. So it was used either for walls, or for roof, or for floor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The interesting thing in this houses is windows and how they are made. As you can see, they are situated on joints of roof and walls, or roof and building surfaces.
Tumblr media
On top of the entrance to the parking lot is a series of apartments forming a follie, a house that appears tilted through the clever creation of an optical illusion.

Tribune
This Tribune is a solution for Technical University in Netherlands. The Why Factory – a newly established research institute, lead by MVRDV and Delft University of Technology - had moved into their new residence on the top floor of the Faculty Building of the Technical University, the building was destroyed by fire, on May 12, 2008. As result, a historic building – the former headquarters of the university, was renovated to accommodate the faculty for the next five years.
Tumblr media
The East conservatory became the new residence of The Why Factory. Surrounded by the glass and steel structure designed by Eekhout and the original facades of the monumental historic building, the institute clearly distinguishes itself from its surroundings by its bright orange color.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The ground floor of the tribune provides a conference room and lecture room. On the first floor are the offices of various collaborators, and on the top floor is another meeting room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In addition to lectures and films, the tribune can also be used as an informal work space. This is due to strong wifi-network and sockets at the seats. The pyramid form of the Tribune allows for additional work spaces on the balconies

Museum Schiedam
Jan Giudici built a chapel in 1787 as a spiritual center for people. After the museum was opened in this chapel. In 2006 Stedelijk Museum Schiedam wanted to renovate their space, and add some new functions like cafe, wardrobe, museum shop and event space and they asked MVRDV to do it.
Tumblr media
MVRDV design combined all these functions in large book shelfs. It includes bookstore, cafe,  reception desk and wardrobe. As the chapel was made in gray colors, architects decided to bring back to life the building with some warm and bright color - red.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the advantages of such a decision is that now the space includes several new function, but it is still open, empty and free a lot. The chapel is listed monument, so the design could not change the existing structure and some historic elements, like windows, colons and organ.
Tumblr media
The construction is light enough, so if it will be necessary it could be removed without any troubles.

Beagle House
Nowadays a lot of people live with their dogs under one roof. Dogs live indoors with their owners and cant chose another place to live in. There is no architecture for dogs, but MVRDV decided to make it, in 2012 the architecture company MVRDV decided to make own space for dogs.
Tumblr media
And here it is! The shape of Beagle House is quite simple and usual. Also this house should solve several problems and includes not only the house function, but something else for dog. So it has several meaning.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The curved shape makes dog want to play with it, every time it comes in. It is easy to move the Dog House due to the rope, which is attached to it, and the shape.

Book Mountain
Book Mountain is a Library in the Netherlands, designed by MVRDV in 2012. It is about 9.000 m2 and includes library, chess club, an auditorium, meeting rooms, environmental education center, retail space and some offices. Due to the glassy facade, all shelves with books are visible from the outside, and the shape of the library reminds the traditional farmhouses - thats why it looks like the mountain of books.
Tumblr media
Tiers of pyramid are formed by specific spaces like auditorium and seminar rooms. On the terrace zones is the library itself to take advantage of the light and space provided by the glass roof.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the peak of the mountain is cafe offering panoramic views for visitors. For connecting the building to its historical context a lot of brick was used, covering floor, ceiling and doors. Higher book shelves which are out of field of vision divide the library’s archive and borrowing collections.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The interesting thing is that staircases for reaching book from higher shelves are situated on the facade of the building, fixed on the metal frame. And talking about materials - here were used wood, brick, glass and metal.
Tumblr media
Also there are a lot of place where people can read books, talk to their friend, work on computers and so on.
Tumblr media
In spite of glassy facade, which bring a lot of sunlight to the building, there are a lot of lighters in the library, letting you read books not only in daytime, but in evenings too.

The Church of St.Aloysius
The new Church of Saint Aloysius, designed by Erdy McHenry Architecture in 2009 in the United States, has vary unusual shape for church. It looks amazing and brakes all the stereotypes about how church should looks like.
Tumblr media
The way how architects used the light is wonderful and adds some unique atmosphere. Using a lot of glass also is very unusual for church, it gives a lot of lightness to it, but here I think it works. Also people from the outside can see whats going inside.
Tumblr media
The roof lines embody four devotions of Saint Aloysius: Blessed Sacrament, Passion of Our Lord, Love of Our Lady, and Choir of Angels.
Tumblr media
Locating the Church at the front of the site allows the church to be a more recognizable icon within the community. The materials, which were used for the church, are simple - wood, concrete, sometimes you can see some metal frames and thats all.
Tumblr media
Inside of the church is also very remembering. It is not overcrowded with furniture or other details, there are only the essentials. The ceiling with all these small lighters hanged from it look like sky and stars in evenings. I also like the way that architects put seats and altar.

Tretyakov Gallery. Part 1
Our new project was about Tretyakov gallery on Krymskiy Val. At first stage we were working in groups and I was working with lana1svetlana and lusine-araqelyan. We had to research everything inside and outside the gallery and come to several problems, which should be solved.
Tumblr media
First of all, we started to research the location of the gallery, try to find out what advantages and disadvantages does it have. We made a lot of different diagrams, which I will show you, and which show the situation of the gallery.
Just general information about the museum - where it is located, what is near it, how people reach it, how mane time do people spend on getting to the museum and so one.
This diagram illustrates several institutions like Tretyakov Gallery, such as Pushkin Museum, Polytechnic Museum, Garage Museum and several more, and where they are situated.
Tumblr media
This one shows several nearest metro station to the gallery. So we can see that the closest stations are Octyabrskaya and Park Kulturi - its about 15 minutes to get to the museum from here, and on the second place there are Polyanka and Kropotkinskaya stations - about 20 minutes.
