For the past 4 days I have been animating for the first time (ever) in blender, and I also created my very first mesh from scratch (the lamp)! I'm going to try making a chair mesh myself as well (the one in the image is from the basegame I believe).

I will probably share my little animation here in the near future when it's done, and when I'm back home I'll see if I can manage making this lamp a functional ts2 lamp.

.... if I still remember how to use SimPE and milkshape that is haha... though I have a vague memory of downloading a similiar lamp from somewhere? so perhaps it's not worth the trouble 🥴

Bypassing adfly + linkvertise links

I've found a way to successfully bypass ad links (specifically adfly and linkvertise but this might work on other shortened links too?) so I thought I might as well make a little tutorial. Perhaps this is common knowledge by now? Anyhow!

1. Copy the ad-link in question (be careful not to click on it)

2. Paste it into https://unshorten.it/ and click on the button to unshorten it. Then you'll get the unshortened link here:

make sure you click 3 times to select the link, the whole link is not visible (there's many more letters and numbers after the "?") so if you drag and select, you won't copy the whole link

3. Copy the link you got from unshorten it and paste it into https://thebypasser.com/ and click the button to bypass the link.

4. Then it's finished! thebypasser will put out the clean, adfree link for you :-)

Hello Fruitvillevillage! :-D I'm not sure why box has (once again) trouble re-directing links, hopefully it's a temporary issue. Anyhow, I made a quick redirect (download here, and you need this addon: chrome / firefox) which seems to work as it should? I've tested the links on the page you sent and the next page, and they all re-direct correctly but do let me know if I messed up somewhere :-) for those of you who don't want to install the redirector, here is how I solved it:

Example url:

https://app.box.com/shared_item/https%3A%2F%2Fwww.box.com%2Fs%2F03b64dce4ab45fca3a5a

Delete everything after .com/ and write /s/, like this:

https://app.box.com/s/

and then, copy the numbers/text after "F", in this case these:

https://app.box.com/shared_item/https%3A%2F%2Fwww.box.com%2Fs%2F03b64dce4ab45fca3a5a

and then you should have a working link, like this:

https://app.box.com/s/03b64dce4ab45fca3a5a

and that's it!

Refering to tragic claun post - it's sad they forget abt including him and bonehilda in one of ts2 packages. :((

I can't do anything but agree anon! Midge thankfully re-implemented Bonehilda as an npc for ts2 here, and there is a clown-face burried in the game files (credit to memento-sims for finding it) but he sadly didn't make it into the final game for some reason - if the face is his that is.

I actually have an idea of defaulting him as the social bunny (or rather: as one color, bc I still want the social bunny as well). Since I have his ts1 mesh I'm pretty confident I can make it work. Not sure when I will get to that though, there's so much I want to do but no time... and packrat is slowly drowning in asks ha-haaaa

Information about the tragic clown?

It's no news that I'm kinda-super-duper-obsessed with Sunny from ts1, and I've come to the conclusion that I don't know a whole lot about out him. So my question goes:

Does anyone know any websites, articles, videos, magazines, screenshots, containing information about the tragic clown? Promo, demo, sketches, images, name of the person(s) who came up with his concept, credits, anything!

Hi VK - long time no chat!! I hope you're doing well lovely :) I have a question for you and a favour as well (if that's alright). My question is: have you or are you working on compiling Casaslindas (Helen Torres/Twinkie) files from her Wordpress and Tumblr accounts? There was two requests for her files from about 2 years ago on Packrat and you said you were in the process of downloading her files and finding the meshes, but you didn't have the time then to do this, but maybe in the future.

Hello Genelle! :-D always nice to hear from you!!! Hope you're doing well too! I'm doing fine, with the exception of school taking up much of my time (hence me being inactive on tumblr and very inactive on packrat). I also don't have my pc with me where I live now, only my mac, which I don't have anything ts2-related on sadly.

I started archiving Casaslindas' stuff back when the mediafire purge was about to hit (dec 2020?!?!?!? how time flies wtf) and I have archived and found most (if not all perhaps?) of the necessary meshes of Casaslindas downloads until page 17 (or 23?) I think, with the exception of the posts with already dead links. I have a post in packrat's drafts with links to the missing downloads - until page 17 (or 23, or however far I got). I don't think I touched her tumblr though, but I'm not quite sure.

That's awesome though!! To hear you started archiving her stuff. I totally get your frustration, both with her blog (my god her wordpress was a pain in the arse to navigate) and the missing/dead mesh-links. I, too, had to take many breaks hahaha. Much cred to you though for taking the stick and running with it!!!

I didn't know she deleted her ts2-posts.... that's bad news. Your sixth-sense is amazing haha! I'm going home - to where my pc is - in December, so I can re-upload the things I have archived from her (and the meshes I found) then.

And of course you can submit the missing downloads to packrat! Hopefully someone can re-upload. With pleasure, it might take me a while before posting (as you all might have already realized) but I do it eventually :-D and you're more than welcome to send me your list as well, unfortunately I won't be able to check my files until December :-( perhaps earlier, if I go home over a weekend sometime before. If so, I'll let you know!

Hi, I was playing Sims 2 recently and noticed how I can't stand how ugly is stack of books that child sims put on their chair before playing chess. I know yo make beautiful replacements of random thing in the game that I couldn't even thought are possible to replace but can you consider replacing the texture of those books? No pressure, tho, I just love your works and think you're really talented :)

Hello dear anon! :-D I agree, the texture is not the prettiest. I did try and re-make Maxis' texture from scratch but it didn't look that good haha.. so I went and did something completely different (which I don't usually do since I want to keep Maxis' "feeling" but this texture was not possible to save lol) so this is how my default looks right now:

Also: I still don't take requests but I have a lot of stuff on my to-do list (this was an item on there) and this ask made me want to do it now hahaha. So yeah, sending asks formatted as ideas are completely okay! Thank you for the kind words as well anon<3
