1 - Best overall – Texas deadlift bar Cerakote Texas deadlift bar comes from a company with a storied 40-year long tradition – Buddy Capps. The sleeves are the longest among the top picks (second-longest overall). The distance between the weights is 1.625 greater (61.125 vs 59.5 ). This bar has more whip than other bars of similar quality and it's better made.
2- Runner-up – Rogue Ohio deadlift bar (Cerakote) The Rogue Ohio power bar is a version of the Ohio bar designed specifically for deadlifts. It's longer and the knurling is more aggressive. The e-coat version scored a high 13.875 and it would be in the top 5 on its own if I included it as a separate bar. There are other versions of this bar with different coatings that I decided against including here.
3 - Best budget deadlift bar – Valor Fitness OB-DL The Valor OB-DL bar has the greatest collar-to-collar distance of any bar we looked at. Compared to Texas, that distance is a slight 0.375 - but compared to Rogue the difference is full 2 inches. It might be the bar for you if you're looking to save money and you won't be using it daily.

A lot of people have heard of the Paleo diet but do not really know what it is. This diet is high in protein, low sodium, and low sugar which will get an individual in the best state of health. It is based on the diet that our ancestors from the Paleolithic era had. Though the main aim of the diet is to promote health, it also works great for weight loss. The individuals that developed this diet are of the belief that the cavemen that lived in the Paleolithic or Stone Age era had the best and most suitable diet for man.
This is so because since that Ɵme our genes have not changed much (only 0.01%) but the way in which we live has changed by leaps and bounds. It is thought that it is best that we revert to that diet as all the food was fresh and had no chemicals. Animals were hunted and food was picked and consumed. There was none of the addiƟves, arƟficial flavorings, or preservatives that we have today.
During the Stone Age, there really was no need for foods that had a longer shelf life or any requirement for instant foods. The need for these things has only come about in recent years as we have the ever-increasing need to have things easier for convenience. With the addiƟons of these chemicals, some foods are no longer as good for us as they used to be. Even if we have natural food the wrong porƟons are consumed posing more of a risk to our health than anything else.
This is the basis on which the Paleo diet was created. It is meant to keep us away from foods that are not good for us and give food opƟons that can provide all the nutrients that our body needs. The cavemen had very healthy lifestyles without the conveniences of fast food that we now have. The diet allowed our ancestors to do their daily tasks which were rather labor-intensive and required a lot of energy. This diet has a high protein component as the aim is to provide the right amount of energy to carry out tasks that are labor-intensive. Diseases are signs of greater problems. They’re messages telling us to change our ways. Sometimes the message is related to diet; perhaps we’re eating too many processed foods, jam-packing ourselves with preservatives and other dangerous chemicals. Other times, disease tells us we’re not taking care of ourselves, that we’ve failed to rest, to handle our stress, or to wash away the impurities that we knowingly and unknowingly absorb into our minds and bodies. Prostate cancer, I felt, was a pretty loud, screaming message.
I also believed that surgery and radiation were not the best responses to the message of disease. They might sometimes be necessary for an emergency situation, but they would not solve the underlying problem. Not only do they overlook the deeper ailment, but they also place additional stresses on the body, weakening its ability to heal. The entire idea of surgery and radiation is somewhat arrogant. It assumes that we humans know more than nature, which designed our wonderful and very, very complex bodies.
Acting against medical advice, refusing to allow the eager doctors to begin radiation treatments or surgically remove my prostate, I began developing my own healing plan, one that would get to the root of the problem, not just treat the symptoms (cancer). Peter Grimm, D.O., the oncologist at the Pacific Tumor Institute, encouraged my emerging plan to heal cancer metaphysically and spiritually while monitoring the malignancy with monthly PSA tests and digital rectal examinations. Meanwhile, I studied with many traditional and alternative healers, adopting and adapting their ideas to my situation. I knew that I was taking chances, but it was vital for me to interpret the message my body was sending me via this cancer, and to respond accordingly. I decided to give my plan six months. If it wasn’t successful, I would have the seed radiation.
Between January 8, 1991, the day of my diagnosis, and March 8, 1991, I earnestly put my healing plan into action. I was both confident and frightened. Confident, because I had devised and implemented much complex business, social, and political strategies before, often in the face of great opposition. I was accustomed to succeeding. But I was frightened because I knew I was challenging modern medical science. I was telling myself that I knew more than physicians who had spent years studying and treating illness. Frightened though I was, I stuck to my guns.
I prayed, meditated, and visualized myself healed. I expanded my exercise program. I took kelp, zinc, and saw palmetto, and eliminated all dairy foods and nearly all fats from my diet. I mixed eucalyptus oil and oil of lavender, 50-50, and massaged my wrists and ankles twice a day. I did a lot of psychological work. I got in touch with and released—by “re-feeling”—the anger and major feelings of sexual inadequacy affecting my prostate. My love and sex life became more fulfilling and supportive.
By April 1991, my PSA was down to 4.2. Not too long after that, it dropped even further, safer.
