i know times can’t be erased yet embarrassment still burns my face it goes so red it becomes my blood i burn and burn and flow to a flood the blood flows fast and crashes violently it drowns and thrashes it hurls boulders and climbs rock walls it drags me down and many will fall once i realize others have rivers too mine stops and flows anew it turns gentle and greens the ground it’s now quiet, as if it never made a sound the blood turned thin to water it is clear and made not to slaughter i am glad to not suffer alone everyone has a torrent or a cyclone sharing with others puts me at ease i love the feeling of being at peace my raging river has turned to a brook once again at me i can look without tearing in shame or putting on blame im proud of myself and my now-tamed stream i sing a lullaby, and i go to dream
