Happy Saturday guys! I just wanted to thank you to all of your sweet words about the new design of my blog. I feel very lucky to have followers like you that are so supportive and that take the time to send me a sweet note. Like I said in this post, it’s been a great year but I would not have any of this if I wasn’t for you! As simple as that. 

Anyway, before I get too emotional around here…let’s talk about today’s look. We were heading to one of our favorite Italian restaurant in the city, Toscano, and we stopped by this cute little corner with beautiful natural lighting to take these pics. The jeans, you’ve seen before. They are one of my favorite styles right now. 

The scarf is my newest addition. Scarves are very on-trend and they are everywhere right now! My favorite way to style a scarf is by wrapping it around the handle of my handbag. It looks so chic! I think every girl should have at least 1 printed silk scarf in their closet; They are so versatile and there are a million different ways you can style it.

Under the Pier

While I’ve been in Vancouver, I’ve been trying to spend as much time near the ocean as possible. Having grown up here on the west coast, I used to take the ocean air and abundance of beaches for granted. After living in New York and now residing in Toronto, I’ve come to realize how much I miss that salty sea breeze.

The other day, Justine and I went down to Crescent Beach, near my family’s home – the lesser developed and more “locals only” beach as opposed to the more widely popular White Rock Beach. It was so nice to walk around during low tide. And since the tide was out, we were able to walk under the pier, where we stopped to take these photos!

SEA BREEZE

We shot these about 20 feet out from the shoreline just north of Ka'anapali Beach when the tide was out. It's one of the most beautiful spots in the morning and you can easily walk along the flat rocks just off the beach, giving you a feeling of walking on water.

One of the benefits of heading further west, is that waking up with the sun is so easy. Which makes for some pretty serene, empty beaches, and spectacular light, not to mention the opportunity to steal some pretty romantic moments with the one you love.

One of my favorite things about Maui is that even when it's 85 degrees at 7 in the morning, the breeze always seems to cool you down just enough. Plus, if you wear anything diaphanous, which I tend to lean towards whenever I'm in a tropical location, it instantly turns up the drama.

Paris Is Always A Good Idea

There’s really nothing better than a new graphic white tee, a black leather jacket, and statement heels in August. Can you believe that it’s already August? We are finally in my favorite month in the entire year. I might be a little biased because it’s my birthday month. August may be a month to party but it’s also a month to start thinking of transitioning your outfitting for fall. I’ve been loving the deep browns, greens and reds lately and I think my fashion brain is getting a little too excited for the upcoming fall months. I wanted to stay bright and summer-y in this post because it is still technically summer but on the inside I’m just ready to bring out my burgundy lipstick.

Sorry for the short and sweet post. I’m off to a fun birthday/dance party and a girl’s gotta look fly. Talk to you all soon!

… aaand FYI: I’m 6’2″, with a skinny, athletic body-type, wearing a true US10 or EU43.

I’ve dreamed about these shoes for so, so long. I first saw them on my homie from the UK, Toni Tran, and was absolutely struck. Now I finally made the move and got them from MR PORTER the other week. Absolute beauties. I wore them with what could have been a casually sartorial look, but added an elongated t-shirt underneath the blazer to get more of a skater aesthetic, rather than that of a Mediterranean afternoon. This may or may not have been related to the fact that, as announced in the previous post, I have recently become quite fond of skateboards and may or may not have been shopping for one that day as an early birthday present from my mom ….. but I won’t shoot it until it’s my birthday on Saturday ;)

I’ve had this black lace maxi dress for quite some time and it ‘s just been sitting in my closet. I wasn’t quite sure how to wear it, and every time I reached for it, I’d go to something else, it always felt too dressy or formal. And then the other week we were heading out for dinner and I decided to throw it on. I almost took it off, again, but then threw a chambray shirt around my waist and put my hair in a messy bun and voila, it felt right! So next time you pass over something in your closet, try adding something a little unexpected, you may surprise yourself.

Summer Leather

I prefer long sunny days, but when the clouds roll in and the wind picks up a bit, the bright side is I have a chance to wear one of my favorite pieces of clothing—these faux leather pants. These were perfect for a short walk from my apartment to one of our favorite restaurants in the city. My parents joined my husband and me for what turned into a Sunday feast! It was one of those meals that are so good that you ALMOST regret it after. 

I paired the faux leather pants with a simple vest and this gorgeous statement necklace from Arme De L’Amour. This type of accessory makes it easy to transform a relatively straightforward outfit into one that’s much more eye catching. Hope you guys enjoy the photos. Sweet Summer

Oh hello there. I’m sorry for being a little M.I.A but it’s all been for the good. I’ve had a lot on my plate the last couple of weeks with lots of fun life changing transitions: new job, moving, weekend getaways, family trips and planning the ultimate birthday vacation. Here I am, better late than never, with one of my favorite outfits this summer. The star of the show would be this multicolor, pleated skirt that goes with just about everything. I love this skirt more than words. I’ll be rocking it all year long for the rest of my life. It’s THAT wearable. It has easily become one of my favorite and most cherished pieces in my closet.

While I was moving into my new place, I made sure that the most important, most loved, and most valuable things were taken care of first. Surprise surprise, the first box that came through the door and the first to be unpacked would be my clothes. Ha! Hey, a fashion blogger has to take good care of her fashion…like duh. I didn’t even care about my dishes or furniture because I was too preoccupied with my clothes. I’m such a girl. After about two weeks of being in my new place, today was the first day with wifi and I cannot tell you how comforting it feels to be laying on my couch right now, laptop in my lap, Modern Family playing in the background, just writing to all of you. I’m in my happy place that is for sure.

I also did work a full work day today so I think it’s time for me to head to bed. Come back soon because I’ve boughten lots of new goodies the last couple of weeks that I’ve been M.I.A and I can’t wait to get those posts up.

How to Wear a One Piece From the Beach to the Bar

These are literally in the dog days of summer and before we know it fall will be here. I can’t believe how fast it’s flying by! It’s time to soak up every possible second, but to do so requires multi tasking. The one piece swimsuit made a major come back this year and though I’ve always preferred a bikini, I’ve been loving some of the new designs. I also love the idea of wearing it from the beach to the street by styling it as a bodysuit T(Exactly the kind of multitasking we need!) I thought I would try the experiment with this gorgeous reversible Wet swimsuit. 

I decided an easy way to dress this up was with a nice stretchy body con skirt. It folds up really small so it’s easy to throw in a bag and even easier to slide into after a day at the beach. I kept everything else pretty simple, the black lace ups I got last year and are still going strong, a simple pair of earrings, a cute clutch and a light leather moto in case it gets cool when the sun goes down. Honestly, such an easy look but really chic with a bit of sexiness. Because if you can be sexy in the summer, when can you be, right? 

For the beach, this one piece swimsuit looks great with a colorful towel, white birkenstocks and a straw hat. Super simple!

White for Swim Week 2015...

Every year...around the 3rd week of July is Swim Week. This year was a little different because the main sponsor, IMG, decided to not be part of the main event...leaving everyone confused. Many people even cancelled their trips because they thought it wasn't happening or that it was going to be a mess...the second part was a little true, it was messier than previous years. The problem? Many shows were at the same time AND on different locations...which made it impossible to attend many things (specially when you add the Miami traffic into the equation). I personally attended few shows for many reasons...as many of you already know I'm shy and running around trying to attend 5 shows per hour is...well I'll leave that for the extroverted kind (nothing bad about it!). I just prefer to stay in one event and have actual conversations with bloggers that are now actual friends! I wore this the first day, I went to an event for Sol De Janeiro ( a super cool Brazilian brand that I will tell you more later), to the Wildfox presentation, and then to have dinner with Kelly Saks and Flor de Maria. We all had a blast together!

For my outfit, since it was so hot and all events are mostly outdoors, I went for light combos. This romper is from a Miami boutique called OHM...very cool and very bohemian. To dress it up I added some high heels, my baby Chanel, and a dark lipstick!

La tercera semana de Julio generalmente es la Semana de la Moda Swim en Miami. Este año fue un poco diferente porque el patrocinador principal, IMG, decidió no ser parte de las actividades de este año...dejando a muchas marcas a la deriva. El problema: todo fue un poco más desorganizado de lo normal y muchos eventos eran a la misma hora que otros...causando que faltara mucha gente. Yo fui a muy poco shows por varias razones: 1. yo soy más tímida de lo que se imaginan, y ese corre corre es para gente extrovertida. 2. Prefiero compartir con bloggers- que ya son amigas, ir a comer, y pasarla bien en UN evento que intentar ir a 5 por hora. Esto fue lo que utilicé el primer día para ir a un evento de Sol de Janeiro (una nueva marca de productos de belleza de Brasil que les va a encantar...pronto les contaré más), de ahí fuimos al show de Wildfox, y a cenar junto a Kelly Saks y Flor de Maria.

En cuanto al look, quise usar este romper de OHM BOUTIQUE, una boutique en Miami que tiene cosas hermosas...especialmente si te gusta el look relajado y un poco bohemio. Para hacer el romper más elegante lo combiné con unas sandalias altas, mi Chanel, y un labial oscuro.

¿Qué les parece? MUCHOS BESOS!!!
