Personal space just not existing with Zuko and Katara after the air’s been cleared will always be my favorite thing.

Especially when it follows them into adulthood and after the war.

Imagine the council members metaphorically clutching their pearls when they witness Southern Water Tribe Ambassador and Water Bending Master, Katara cupping Fire Lord Zuko’s face before a meeting.

(Them not knowing she was being very professional and telling the Fire Lord he needs more rest and to eat something other than a few pastries and tea. The face cupping was purely platonic.)

Or one of the guards pausing on one of their many rounds, because they just witnessed Fire Lord Zuko lean on and practically drape himself over Master Katara’s back in what could only be a lovers embrace. Why else would he practically bury himself in her hair?

Just them being effortlessly affectionate towards each other and people constantly misunderstanding the situation.

The time is coming, Zutara friends! The Zutara Big Bang is (hopefully) returning for a second year, and in order to make that happen, we need to know how many interested writers, beta readers, and artists are out there. We're also looking to add to our mod team in order to ensure that the event runs as smoothly as possible. If you're interested in being a part of the Big Bang this year, please complete the interest check form linked below to let us know! If you'd like to be considered as a mod for the event, please complete the mod application as well.

A few quick points about this year's Big Bang before you get started:

The Big Bang will run from May 1, 2022 - August 31, 2022 with project proposals and bidding taking place in April.

The Big Bang is open to fans of all ages.

The Big Bang will be SFW again this year. This means that all fics must be rated G or T on AO3, and all art pieces must be SFW as well.

Minimum word counts for writers will be the same as last year: 6,000 words for oneshots and 10,000 words for multichapters.

Artists of any medium (visual, musical, etc.) are welcome to join.

The Big Bang will include an anonymous posting period again: writers, this means that if you have an idea for your Big Bang fic, you're welcome to tell others that you're writing for the event, but please keep any specifics about your story secret.

More information about the event, including a detailed event schedule, Big Bang FAQ, and role-specific guidelines will be posted after the interest check is complete.

Seven years since Zuko's banishment, four years since he turned his back on his homeland and any chance of regaining his honor. His life as a boozed up farmhand isn't really living, but he's too worn by his past to care. Until a chance encounter with an old friend introduces Zuko to a new path, one that won't be any easier, but might just be worth it. Maybe peace must be restored to the world, and maybe, with the help of the Gaang, and a certain Waterbender, Zuko can restore peace within himself.

Taking place in Book One. A tale of love transpires during the hard times of war. Katara and Zuko find themselves caught between loyalty and lust, an unlikely development that could either sedate the pain the one hundred year war has inflicted on them, or it may break them even further.

The corner of his lips tighten, “Yes, hate me. That’s what you’re supposed to do. I’m your enemy, not your fucking boyfriend. Leave, and forget this,” he points between the both of them, “ever happened.”

Tears break out, Katara’s sobs turning into uncontrollable weeping, “Why are you doing this? Why are you being so mean?”

“It's better than loving me,” he spat and that breaks her. Somewhere during her tear shed does Zuko fall to his knees, “Please, don’t do this to me. Don’t cry like that. Don’t *feel* anything for me. It hurts-“ He chokes, clenched fist grasping at his chest, “Let me let you go.”

The unmistakable rasp of a certain someone materializes from right behind her. Katara freezes like a saber-tooth moose lion caught in headlights. Her neck tingles uncomfortably and her back feels as though it has been lit ablaze. Now that she has heard his voice, every part of her body is suddenly hyper aware of his presence. Katara takes a deep, steadying breath, and tries to concentrate on whatever the fairly attractive man in front of her is droning on about. Saying. To her. She smiles pleasantly and nods, and gestures to the student who has recently joined them to elicit their opinion on the matter, doing her best to ignore the inferno behind her.

After years apart, Zuko and Katara meet again at their university's homecoming weekend. The more time they spend together, the harder it is to not wonder what was going on between them the first time.

Anyone ready for a super awesome commission from an amazing writer!? PLEASE INQUIRE!!

Question for artists out there: depending on wether or not the publisher I choose allows me to design my own book cover, would anyone be willing to do a commission for me? I can send different design references and ideas, and I’m willing to really, really pay for it! I’m getting closer to finishing up my outline, and I’d like to have an idea of what the cover could look like! It’s going to be New Adult Fantasy and I’m in dire need of a cover! Please PM me if you know of anyone/are anyone who would be willing to help! Its a trilogy, but I only need help with the first books’ cover because I’m still unsure about the design for the next two.
