thrilled to announce BURY YOUR GAYS is nominated for the 2024 GOODREADS CHOICE AWARDS. this is such an honor and particularly exciting because unlike other awards YOU BUCKAROOS GET TO VOTE. click here to vote for 'bury your gays' best horror before nov 24
as outsider artist writing an explicitly queer book, i am so PROUD to be here with you as we bend whole timelines towards OUR stories. taking a book like this (and ABOUT this) even more mainstream is without our power so if youve ever enjoyed my work please take a moment to vote
lets show this timeline what happens when you trot with so much sincerity that, even after years and years of calling you a joke, the timeline eventually bends TO YOU. lets show buckaroos the power of joyful queer unashamed neurodivergent art. thanks for nominating. LOVE IS REAL

Writing a novel when you imagine all you stories in film format is hard because there’s really no written equivalent of “lens flare” or “slow motion montage backed by Gregorian choir”

unsung benefit i think a lot of ppl are sleeping on with using the public library is that i think its a great replacement for the dopamine hit some ppl get from online shopping. it kind of fills that niche of reserving something that you then get to anticipate the arrival of and enjoy when it arrives, but without like, the waste and the money.

‼️boosting for any folks in hurricane milton’s path who have limited access to transport for evacuation:
Uber is offering free transport to shelters using the promo code ‘MILTONRELIEF’
To get a ride:
Open the Uber app
Tap Account on the bottom right and tap Wallet
Add promo code MILTONRELIEF
if i were living down there, i would be 100% reliant on a ride share service, so hoping this is helpful!

I know that Lucky Day is definitely a horror novel, but is it also going to be a spy novel?
no if anything it is also a science fiction or thriller along with horror but honestly i think it is mostly (and i am hesitant to use this word as there is a lot of baggage with it but here we go) LITERARY. maybe something like don delillo or thomas pynchon. at least that is how i see it.
it is VERY existential and i think the HORROR part comes from some very frightening existential ideas
i think there are TWO main thematic battles in the book. there is a bisexual character whose main journey is that of EXISTENCE vs NOTHINGNESS. i think this is the queer horror aspect because us bi buckaroos know what it is like to hear someone say 'bisexuals do not exist'. really the kernel for this idea was to say 'okay i want to write a story thats about a bi buckaroo FACING DOWN non-existence.'
and then there is the battle of ABSURDISM vs NIHILISM. when existence makes no sense then what are we supposed to do with that? how do you trot on in a world full of tragedy and grief? how do you make sense of a life that makes no sense?
i think buckaroos who are curious about my philosophy that LOVE IS REAL will really have a lot to pull apart in the trot of this story. it is VERY strange and goes very very deep into that kind of thing. honestly just a MASSIVE existential swing and i am happy that i have the support of a publisher willing to take it with me and to really press into these ideas with a large scale audience

“Cave Johnson here. I’ve received complaints from anonymous employees that our support of the “homosexual lifestyle” is “degenerate” and “irresponsible”. It really got me thinking and I think I found a solution. So good news! We now have 23 vacated positions reserved for members of the LGBT community. Additional good news, we began a new testing initiative on evolutionary degenration with 23 test subjects all ready to go.“

aparently in the latest fantastic 4 comics johnny storm has been in a relationship with an alien, and that would be pretty standard affair for marvel heroes, right.
except someone at marvel with fucking balls of steel and the biggest brain in the known universe made the alien look... actually alien

this is the greatest thing ive seen in my life, is almost enough to make me want to read the comic

basically I think that if your protagonist doesn’t want to fuck someone so bad it makes them look stupid, then there probably isn’t enough energy in your story. “Fuck someone” isn’t literal btw—they can want to uncover the secrets of their parent’s death, they can want to prove their worth, they can want a donut from one particular bakery—it can be anything so long as they want it so bad that they’ll make decisions that make any sane person go “are you a moron??”, with little to no forethought, or even tons of forethought and this is still the option they chose. Because they want to fuck that thing so bad.

“Inseminary”
or “Lockpick to the Priesthood” or “Come Unto Me” or “Pearl Necklace of Great Price” or “Faith is Like a Little Seed”
Authentic stolen holy text, Near Clear silicone, gold pigment.
I went to the mormon church’s website, looked up their views on homosexuality, noted the scriptures they referenced, ripped them by hand out of the bible and book of mormon I stole from their chapel, and then mixed them into a silicone dildo of my own design like confetti. A dildo which will of course be used for homosexual purposes.
I’ve wanted to try dildo making for literally over a decade. I don’t have any fancy equipment like a 3D printer or a vacuum chamber, I made the sculpt by hand, and I fucked up a lot along the way, but all that being said I’m proud of what I was able to accomplish and I learned a lot. I put in more gold than I meant to, but honestly, it was meant to represent scripture’s gilded edges, and as it turned out, it looks really beautiful or quite filthy depending on the lighting, which feels entirely appropriate for scripture.
It was hard to read all of those verses. But as I tore them up I bathed them in the intention to take words that were meant to inflict queer pain wherever they go, and say “Actually, I pull those words out when I want some queer pleasure.” Build joy where they want you to have it the least.
Read about/donate to the Timpanogos tribe, for whom brigham young sent out an “extermination order”
