Looking for Manhwa Men to Stan - Look No Further (Part. 1)
I think it's been too long since we have given some appreciation to the men in Manhwa, and since my library has expanded, I would like to introduce you to the boys.
1. Hak - Yona of the Dawn
Tumblr media
Decorated military general, loyal af, HOT and a little bit cocky, what more do you want? I truly recommend checking the series out because the characters, plot, and action are really good! There is an anime, although it doesn't cover some of my favorite moments and some of the best points in the story. So totally check it out! NUMBER 1 Hak Stan (fight me!)
2. Heinry - The Remarried Empress
Tumblr media
If you couldn't tell that I loved this manga already, then here (along with Navier) is the reason why. Literally one of the most supportive and sweet males leads ever! He loves Navier with all his heart and saves her from a totally gross and toxic relationship. Also, look at how CUTE he is!! Henry slander will not be tolerated.
3. Dojoon Kang - Positively yours
Tumblr media
The wealthy and high-profile boyfriend perfectly fits his archetype and I am there for it. After he discovers that the girl he slept with is pregnant with his child, he puts his life on hold to take care of her, in sometimes unconventional ways. He brings her out of her shell and finally gets her to get over her fears of marriage. I love him and his interactions with her! Lowkey was jealous!
---
That's it for the first part of the Boys, let me know if you want more in the future. I'll also try to include some of my non-male lead picks going forward! Love y'all!

Top 5 Manhwa With the Best Art (Romance Edition)
After reading countless manhwa I have seen a lot of different styles of manhwa, and personally, these are some of my favorite I've seen so far!
5. Villains are Destined to Die
Tumblr media
We've seen it, we love it. If you haven't seen it, please do! Not only is the story amazing, but the art is stunning! Do you love great characters, a cool plot, a badass female lead, and a male lead that is to die for (literally)? Then you'll love Villains are destined to die!
Available on: Tapas
4. The Villainess is a Marionette
Tumblr media
There is no other way to describe it than gorgeous! The plot follows a pretty standard story, and is a great starter/introduction in what you expect from most isekais. After living as a pawn for her brother, and ultimately dying, the female lead (shown above), returns to show that she is not somebody's toy. The manhwa has recently returned after the end of season 1 and I can't wait to see where the story goes from here.
Available on: Tapas
3. Black Winter
Tumblr media
I know what you're thinking, where are the sparkles? Since all the other entries on the list are full of them. I believe that the art reflects the tones of the story. Although a romance story, there are many deeper and sad themes, related to death, loss, abandonment, and abuse. I really love this artist's style and the depth that was added to the characters. I am currently reading the manhwa right now and I truly recommend it. It is a little convoluted at first, but I highly recommend it.
Available on: (I don't know the site where official manhwa is released on)
2. Beatrice
Tumblr media
Welcome back to sparkle central, In Beatrice! After the Duke (pictured above in black) conquers a local kingdom, Beatrice (in purple) was forced to be taken as a slave. Eventually over time their love blossoms in face of all adversities. I recommend when reading, to read the entire thing in one sitting, since plots can be hard to remember after some time. I really enjoyed the series and I can't wait to see how it progresses.
Available on: Mangaowl, Manhua scans
1. I Became the Villain's Contract Family
Tumblr media
Do I love this story so much that I would make an additional post about it just because it deserves more gratification, um YES! There is not much more to say about it, all the characters and the world are beautiful except for the ugly characters (morally ugly characters). I read it all in 2 hours because I loved it so much!!
Overall I hope you enjoy the series that I recommended! It took me a while, tell me if there are any other stories that you would like to see me post! Thank you so much for all the support!

My Top 3 Recently Read Action Manhwa
Lately I have been trying to expand my horizon when it comes to reading. I have read so many SO MANY romance isekai that I felt like I needed to mix it up (the fake relationship trope was killing me)
SOOOO.... Here are my top 3 Action Manhwa to bring some spice into your reading.
---
3. Hero Killer
Tumblr media
In a world where Heroes rule over society, people are forced to live under their tyrannical rule. The "heroes" force the people who they were supposed to protect to be killed and abused. After the main character, Ihwa's, sister dies at the hands of a hero she swears revenge and promises to kill every hero one by one until she finds out who killed her sister. She joins up with the Villain League and then begins the slaughter.
I really like this story because it walks a fine line. As a reader, you root for Ihwa and hope she succeeds, but you are also introduced to the Heroes and some of them you really begin to like. Only to remember that they are going to die. (RIP CHAOS) I can't wait to see how the story progresses and if she actually succeeds.

2. SSS-Class Suicide Hunter
Tumblr media
I know like three paragraphs ago I said that I did not want to read any isekais anymore.....well I lied. This manhwa has been one of the best Isekais I read so far (besides Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, if you haven't read I HIGHLY recommend it). The main character (Kim Gong-ja) is so sassy and I live for it. I would like to preface that there are suicidal themes, if that is not something you would like to read about then this might not be the story for you.
Set in the future, one day a large dungeon spawns in the middle of Seoul. So naturally, people from all over the world come to try and complete the dungeon. Through all the noise, one man stands above everyone else Yoo Soo Ha. (You thought it was the mc? nope. At the beginning of the story he high-key sucks) Anyways, so does Yoo Soo Ha, he is stuck-up, abrasive, and a hothead. He treats everyone like shit. After Kim Gong-ja (mc) dies because of Yoo So Ha, his true ability awakens. Regressing. After every death, he is able to choose a skill to obtain and is reborn. As the story progresses his real personality comes out and he is a lot more calculated and strong. He begins to care for people and protects the other hunters in the dungeon. It's a super good read, and I love his character progression! CHECK IT OUT!

1. HELLper
Tumblr media
This manhwa was the reason that I wanted to create this list. Honestly, it's SUPER good! I love all of the backstories and how it's written. Everything is so detailed and all of the characters have their own well-developed identities which makes it a joy to read. Before I start the summary I would like to mention that this series deals with subjects such as abortion, death, suicide, depression, gang violence, sexual assault, abandonment, and murder. There is a lot of tough subjects covered and since the setting is Hell so many of the things covered are not so pleasant.
I'm not going to go into the plot a lot because everything I say is basically going to be a spoiler. I will tell you what I like about it though.
1. Character Growth - I can't tell you how much I love some of the characters in this story. They are so well developed, their backstories are complex and beautiful and I can't help but want to hug some of them.
2. Art - Let's just talk about it for a second. I LOVE the author's style so much. It's amazing and different and wonderful and poignant. CHEF'S KISS!
3. GRANNY - Guess you'll have to read to find out <3
Available on: Webtoon

Luv you all so much for the support! I really hope you enjoy the list. The feedback on my last post was amazing! Let me know if you want more!!

Top 5 Badass Female Leads
There is no other way to describe them.
5. Ripley - The First Night With The Duke
Tumblr media
Ripley is one of the most iconic and amazing characters in the Manhwa community. I am completely in love with her attitude, sass, and ability to somehow continually screw up. The best thing about her is that she really is human. She has flaws, doubts, and sometimes really messes up.
The most impressive thing about her is that her moral compass and her loyalty to the Duke. I really can't wait to see how she grows throughout the rest of the Manhwa.
Available on: Webtoon
4. Empress Yulia - I've Become the Villainous Empress of a Novel
Tumblr media
Next up, Empress Yulia. I love her because...
1. She doesn't need a man to run a country
2. She manages to be a bad bitch and a fleshed-out character at the same time. She fixes the mistakes of the previous Yulia, cleans up her court, and maintains diplomatic relations, all while figuring out how to be an empress.
She is coolheaded, a wonderful ruler, and a great strategist. While Ripley I can relate to, Yulia I aspire to be.
Available on: MangaOwl and Tappytoon
3. Detective Sinclair - Purple Hyacinth
Tumblr media
Honestly one of the most underrated female leads/protagonists in the manhwa community. After her family was murdered, Detective Sinclair makes it her mission to take down their murderer. She enlists the help of one of the most famous assassins in the country and doesn't bat an eye.
She has amazing skills, a fearless personality, and human emotions. She is in no way a "flat character". Also, she doesn't come off as fake or too righteous, which makes her truly relatable.
Available on: Webtoon
2: Lady Medea Solon - Your Throne
Tumblr media
We all know her, we all love her, it's Lady Medea. This list wouldn't be complete without her. She is an outstanding strategist who can bend the country under her control. Not to mention that she carries her manhwa. In the beginning, I only read it because of her. Truly the no. 1 girl boss.
The thing that I love about her the most is how her backstory affects her as a character. Sometimes characters, especially female leads, become flat in course of a story. Truly her character arc and her personality reflect the things that have impacted her life.
Available on: Webtoon
1: Empress Navier - The Remarried Empress
Tumblr media
I've loved her from the moment she came onto the panel. Simply put she's amazing. Her etiquette around the nobles, her sweet personality, how she manages pain, and how she's a strong leader, represent everything that I love in a character.
Even when dealing with a divorce she handles herself with grace, and manners. She always has her subject's best interests at heart even if it hurts her in the end. I will continue to root for her throughout season 2. If you haven't read this manhwa I would HIGHLY recommend it!
Available on: Webtoon

If you have made it this far, thank you for reading! I had a lot of fun making this list and if you want to see more, let me know! Have a great day, and happy reading!

Anime Recommendation - Ahiru No Sora
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Welcome back to my blog! It's been a while, but I missed y'all. I hope you understand the infrequency of posting!
Okay, I know, another sports anime. Let me tell you that after Haikyu!! I had a phase. This was one that I watched directly after, give or take two weeks, and damn was it good! If you like Haikyu!! you will LOVE this anime. I know I did <3
Let's take a walk. The anime opens up with our black hair Hinata, I mean, Sora Kurumantani. He is super optimistic and loves basketball. The only problem is that he is short. He's never been able to play because of his height. So now that he is in High School he tries out for the Basketball team. Only to learn that it is filled with delinquent losers who have no interest in playing basketball. Throughout the story we see Sora and his friends learn how to work as a team, overcome challenges, and most importantly, play ball.
It's a pretty long anime, but the plot moves pretty quickly. I really love how the relationships between the characters grew, and all of their fun personalities. I really hope you check it out, as it is not a popular anime. If this is not your type of anime, feel free to check out my other recommendations on my blog. Happy anime watching!

Reading Recommendation - Leveling My Husband to the Max
Tumblr media
Hey all, yes it has been A WHILE! But I am back again with another manhwa recommendation! Is it an isekai? Yes. Is it a romance? yes. Does it feature a girlboss lead? OF COURSE! (Have y'all noticed a theme yet?) Welcome to one of Webtoon's newest releases, and a new favorite.
The story starts when the female lead, Amber is killed for "treason" against the crown. We learn that she was pregnant with the Duke's child and she wishes that she could go back in time and prevent the Duchy's downfall. Her husband who was cold, and uncaring throughout their relationship finally shows a bit of humanity when he asks for her life to be spared. This does not happen and in her last moments we see her wish for one more chance.
Will she be able to transform the Duchy? or will her husband prove to be an obstacle she can't overcome?

Scarily Good Read - Homesick
Tumblr media
Don't let the violet aesthetic fool you, this manhwa is not as pretty as it seems. In a turn of events, today I am not reviewing/recommending a romance manhwa (kind of shocking), but a thriller! This series has been my guilty pleasure of late and I am ready to share the amazingness with the community!
The story begins with our lovely, beautiful, and a little paranoid main character, Rayne. She wakes up with no memories of what is going on around her. She is unaware of the apocalypse that has befallen the earth. Canaballistic murder monsters roam the planet, eating any human that comes into sight. You know, just casual stuff.
Sameal finds Rayne on the roof when she wakes up. A delinquent hothead, not much is known about him at the beginning. They strike a mutual deal to help each other survive. But when the world has gone to shit, who can you really trust? Your mind? Or will that eventually betray you as well?
I really hope everyone has gotten a good sense for how much I adore this story so far. All the characters have fun aesthetics, and the art style is so different from a lot of the series I have read so far!
Genre: Thriller, Horror

A Total Must Read - A Business Proposal
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To say I am absolutely in love with this Manhwa is an understatement! The art is gorgeous, the characters are well-developed, and the storyline is full of twists. Honestly I am so excited to introduce you to..... A Business Proposal.
After incurring a lot of debt because of a loan, our main female lead Shin Hari looks to her best friend for help. Her bff proposes that she steps in for one of her many blind dates and help to turn down the mystery man. Unfortunately Shin Hari meets Kang Taemu, not only is he stubborn, and cold, he is also her new CEO? Also, not to mention, he wants to marry her!
The rest of the story follows Shin Hari and an ensemble of lovable characters navigate their lives. The story does have some racy scenes (not that I'm complaining), but if that's not your cup of tea. Feel free to look for my other manhwa suggestions! I really hope you read this story, as it is definitely one of the better ones I have read!
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Available on: Tapas, and Mangaowl, Mangastic (better translation, more ads)

Daily Anime Recommendation - Your Lie in April
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To be honest this show made me feel a lot of things. The vibrant characters paired with the beautiful scenes showed the character's love for music at every turn. The scenery is gorgeous and overall the story always made me want to root for all the characters as they went through their own struggles.
The story begins with the main character Kousei. After he loses his mother he begins to lose touch with his passion, the piano, to the point where he can't hear the notes being played. He imagines himself to be underwater when he plays; unable to register anything around him. This incapability leads him to abandon the piano, and live a "normal" life with his best friends, Tsubaki and Sawabe. This all changes when he meets the beautiful violinist, Kaori.
Kaori is vibrant and loves life. She brings lots of positivity into Kousei's life. Eventually, through their interactions, Kousei begins to rediscover his love for music. The rest of the story follows his journey into the world of piano and the competitions that follow. There is a lot more to the story, and I strongly urge you to check it out. I would urge you to bring tissues towards the end. I was bawling, period.

Daily Anime Recommendation (2/2) - Dororo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Welcome to one of my latest watches, and one of my most memorable as well. I watched the 2019 remake, as I couldn't find the original anywhere. It's a really well done commentary about human nature and survival. There are some times when you really hate characters that you liked in the last episode, which truly shows the well developed and life like characters.
The story starts with Hyakkimaru (the guy in both pictures)' father offering anything of his to the 12 demons, so that his land could have peace and prosperity. He recieves their favor and when his first son is born, he learns of the price that he will have to pay, his son's life.
His son is born without skin, eyes, nose, arms, or legs. For some reason though, he is still alive. The chieftain welcome's this payment with open arms, as this boy's sacrifice had saved his land and people. What he doesn't realize is that Hyakkimaru does not die. He grows up and with the help of a doctor, he learns how to fight. He also learns that he can regrow parts of his body when he kills a demon. He sets out on a journey to reclaim what was rightfully his, and save himself from his world of darkness.
I have left a lot of details out, as it is a complicated story. Before I end my review I would like to point out that this series deals with demons, trauma, violence, and some racy stuff. If this is not the series for you, feel free to try any of my other recommendations.
Genre: Historical, Drama, Action

Reading List - Beast With Flowers
Tumblr media
Welcome to my newest addition to the reading list, Beast With Flowers! I stumbled onto this manhwa when I was looking for something to read late at night and it delivered a well developed story and comedic characters. Also....LOOK. AT. THE. MALE. LEAD!! Let's begin the review!
The story begins with an expose describing the female lead, Hwa-Yeon. She has been in a coma for the past 12 years and recently her condition has gotten a lot worse, causing her doting father to become increasingly worried. In desperation, they resort to a magical lake to return her consciousness. It works, but instead of his daughter being transported to her body, the female lead transported from another world (shocking!).
After she returns home, she catches the eye of the ruthless crown prince, Moo-young. Famously known for killing anyone on sight during the recent war. He falls in love with her on the spot, and the resulting series of miscommunications result in the two lovers to grow closer. Will his past get in the way of his love? More importantly, can she tame this wild beast?
In all honesty, the series is kind of slow so I recommend breaking it up in chunks instead of cramming all 68 episodes (currently) at once. There are lot of funny characters and as you'll soon realize the emperor is one of the best characters.
Available on: MangaOwl
Genre: Romance, Historical, Comedy
Chapters: 68 (currently)

Daily Anime Recommendation - The Rising of The Shield Hero
Tumblr media
Today while I was mulling over amazing anime to recommend, I had a sudden realization. Why was I not talking about the Shield Hero? It has comedy, betrayal, a hot male lead, plenty of waifus (*cough* Raphtalia *cough*), and a great plot that involves a lot of maturity. Let's begin.
The story begins with our male lead, Naofumi, finding a book that transports him into a world filled with great danger. Every couple months an event called the waves of calamity spread throughout the land. It was prophesized that the heroes would go and defeat the monsters, and protect the kingdom. Now enter, the most stuck up pricks you will ever meet, The Sword Hero, The Spear Hero, The Bow Hero, and our boy Naofumi, the shield hero. At first you won't understand, but eventually you'll realize how much they suck! They basically abandon Naofumi, because the shield hero is thought to be weak and eventually get him blacklisted from the kingdom. Forced to protect the people that Naofumi despises, the audience witnesses his personal growth as he fights to level up and protect the people he cares about.
The story is so immersive that sometimes you'll be completely involved in Naofumi's emotional turmoil. This anime provides character arches that leave you feeling so emotionally satisfied, and you feel yourself rooting for Naofumi as he fights against the people who had tarnished his name.
I cannot express how much I was invested in this anime. 100% would recommend. It's not crazy long and there is rumored to be a season 2 coming soon, so you better catch up now!
Available on: Crunchyroll
Genre: Action, Isekai, Drama
Episodes: 25
Status: Season 2 releases in 2022

A Tribute to a Classic - Age Matters
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last week marked the end of one of the most popular romance manhwas on Webtoon. I felt that it would be s devastating loss not to talk about. From the wonderful character development, to the k-drama like ending. This manhwa gives every type of reader a little something. Without further ado, let's take a walk.
The story starts out with our main character Rose moving into a new apartment immediately after discovering her ex-boyfriend was cheating on her. Now almost 30, Rose feels that she has missed out on most things in life because she wasted time. What Rose doesn't know at the time is that her new apartment also comes with a job. Enter Daniel, a young billionaire web designer, and Rose's new boss. Originally, like most manhwa love tropes, they don't get along. She believes that he is stuck up, and he believes that she is lazy.
Eventually they do grow closer together as she abandons her old job as his housemaid, to become his new secretary. He then sets down the famous ground rule, NO FALLING for one another (which we all know is meant to be broken). The story then follows Rose and Daniel's blossoming relationship, and the challenges that come with dating a billionaire.
This story also has some of the best secondary characters, with Dylan and Pommie being absolutely iconic. I really, really hope you check it out! It is such a great read, and there are tons of things that I left out!
Available on: Webtoon
Genre: Romance, Comedy, Drama
Chapters: 151

Daily Anime Recommendation - Say I love You!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey everybody! Welcome to another daily anime recommendation. Today we are going to talk about a CLASSIC romance anime (and a personal favorite), Say I love you! Waiting no further, let's dive right in!
Say I love you, is a story about Mei Tachibana's first love, Yamato Kurosawa, and finding the confidence to trust people again. After Mei was blamed for the death of her class pet she began to lose trust in the people around her. She became a loner with no one that she could depend on. Yamato Kurosawa on the other hand is a notorious flirt who is always surrounded by people due to his good looks. After Mei kicks him in the head (yes you heard that right), Yamato begins to become intrigued, and begins to pursue her romantically. Will they stay together, or will Mei's lack of faith put their relationship on the line?
The supporting cast in this show is amazing and every single character brings something new to the show. This show does delve into some bullying and social anxiety, but overall this is a light show and a wonderfully vibrant quick watch.

Daily Anime Recommendation - Noragami
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey all, today I am going to be recommending one of my long time favorite anime series, Noragami. Honestly I haven't watched this show in a hot minute, but the story and characters are so memorable that it would be a crime not to talk about them.
Noragami opens with one of the protagonists Hiyori Iki saving Yato's life (the hot guy from the pictures). Yato, instead of a normal man turns out to be a god, and because she saved him she is transformed into a half-phantom. Unable to turn back to normal, she turns to Yato asking for his help. To which he replies he cannot turn her to normal without help from a partner. She agrees to help him, and they eventually find a partner, a stuck up brat without an ounce of respect. The unlikely trio begins their adventure what they don't know then is how big of an impact this will have on their futures.
I would like to point out that despite the cute character designs and funny interactions this series deals with lots of serious topics. Such as violence, bodily harm, demonic possession, and depression. If this is not the anime for you, feel free to check out my other suggestions.
Genre: Supernatural, Comedy
Available on: Funimation and Hulu

Father I Don't Want To Get Married! - Full of Hilarious Misunderstandings
Tumblr media
Today I discovered this gem isekai romance. It is full of hilarious misunderstandings caused by lack of communication between the Female Lead, and her father. I honestly laughed so hard while reading this sometimes, and I 10000% recommend this manhwa. Let's take a walk.
The manhwa starts off by introducing to the female lead, Jubellian Eloy Floyan. Like any classic villainess isekai the protagonist goes around trying to avoid her imminent death at all costs. Which begins with cutting off her abusive boyfriend. This triggers her previously icy father to become curious about her wellbeing. He begins looking for marriage candidates. Around this time the readers are introduced to the male lead, Maximillian, the crown prince. Rumored to be a very cold hearted and ruthless person, she obviously does not want to marry him. Will she avoid him forever? Or will their fates become intertwined?
I purposefully was very vague when explaining the plot because it is hilarious and fully of witty lines. I REALLY hope you check it out, because it is worth the read.

Genre: Romance, Fantasy
