Hisoka sat alone in the dim light of his suite, fingers drumming on the cold table. The news spiraling through his mind was like a slow poison in his veins: Illumi and Lira, together. Disgusting. And— worst of all, Chrollo, ever lurking on the edge of both of them, quietly and methodically weaving his own web as usual, his threads too fine and delicate to ever catch a glimpse of.

His mind raced, tangled in a tempestuous web of emotions he refused to name aloud.

They think they can corner me? Trick me? Control me? His lips curled in a twisted smile, but it didn’t reach his eyes. It never did.

He thought he’d always been the puppet master, the wild card—the one pulling strings behind the scenes. But this? This alliance? It unsettled him in a way few things ever had.

He was no stranger to lust, to obsession, nor to the intoxicating power of danger—and yet… this was different.

Lira.
Her name burned in his thoughts and burned in his mouth, her very existence burning hot. Hot like the sun itself, scorching him from the inside out, leaving him dry and parched after basking in her artificial light for too long. That bubbly, venomous and fraudulent excuse of a woman. The enigma who scorched his fingers whenever he reached for her.

Illumi.
The man born with the cold beauty of a star-studded moonless night, and simultaneously, the snake who had her. He’d coiled himself so tight around her body that Hisoka was surprised she hadn’t suffocated yet. The one whose cold, unsettling presence had always grated against Hisoka’s pride, rubbing against him like rough scales no matter how many times the man had submitted to him.

Chrollo.
The shadow looming over them all. The man bathed in the ethereal and eternal, yet inconsistent glow of a blue moon, steeped in cruelty and ruthlessness. The spider itself, the puppet master, crafted from vengeance and contingency plans. The calm storm who always had another card to play, another meaning to his words, full of either theological nihilism, or nothing at all.

A/N: y’all know that one sun/moon/star/eclipse meme thingy? this was lowkey inspired by that, with Lira being the sun, Chrollo, the moon, Hisoka, the stars, and Illumi, the eclipse. ☀️🌙🌌🌒
