The winged lion is a truly fascinating concept. You get the sense it really does wish to help, since that is what brings it the joy it seeks, but its joy destroys whatever it touches. It's the joy of eating, expanded to a cosmic scale. Its wants are too grand, its goals too incompatible with those of humanity, yet it wants to serve humanity, fatten us up, so it can eat us. Humans and their desires are livestock to it. A truly eldritch antagonist. I'm very interested to see how they'll dismantle it. And I wonder how developed this concept was when Ryoko Kui started writing this.
