Satoru never cared much for babies.
He thought they were sticky. Loud. Strange little creatures with too-big eyes and unpredictable emotions. “You can’t even do anything with them,” he used to say, half-laughing, always dismissive. He didn’t see the appeal. Not then.
But now, when those tiny, hiccuping cries echo through the house, it’s his hands that reach out first. His steps that are soft, practiced, sure, against the cool hardwood floors. He lifts them into his arms with a tenderness he didn’t know he had, whispering low and sweet as if the words alone might soothe them. “Shh… I got you, baby. You’re okay now. Daddy’s here."
The nursery is dim, painted in golden hues from the rising sun that spill in through gauzy curtains. And in the quiet of it all, Satoru rocks them slowly, heart twisting at the way such a tiny thing could cling so tightly to him.
Their little fingers curl instinctively around his, impossibly small and soft. The little fist moving to tug at his snow-white hair with an uncoordinated giggle, and Satoru laughs too - gentle and breathless and amazed. He leans in close and nuzzles their round belly, peppering noisy kisses between mock growls.
“The strongest needs a snack,” he murmurs against their skin, grinning as the baby squeals with delight.
And still, deep in his mind, something quiet aches.
I didn’t think I’d ever have this.
Didn’t think I’d survive long enough to want it.
Didn’t know I could be this soft, this full, this happy.
Later, you’ll find them sprawled together on the living room floor. Satoru still half bare chested and Hello Kitty pajama pants, hair a mess, baby asleep on his chest - both of them completely knocked out. His hand cradles their back protectively, even in sleep. His breath rises and falls in rhythm with theirs.
And as you stand there watching, heart full to the brim, Satoru stirs just enough to crack one sleepy, love-dazed eye open.
“Hey,” he whispers, voice hoarse with exhaustion and something tender, “look what we made.”

Tired
Word count ✮ 773

You had a habit. Not a bad one, some may even think it’s a good habit! But you couldn’t decide. When the nights grew long, each second lasting a life time as you stared at your ceiling, you’d clean. Of course you and Satoru would tidy up the house before bed, but you always found yourself scrubbing tiny corners after midnight, mind racing with unfinished thoughts. You didn’t know why you felt like you needed to clean when you couldn’t sleep. Maybe it was to tire yourself out, or maybe it helped you organize your thoughts as you organized the house.
The time felt irrelevant at this point. You had been up cleaning for a few hours. You had completed all the laundry, somehow folding and putting it all away without waking Satoru, as well as sweeping the floors. You had now moved on to doing the dishes. You two had a dishwasher, but you always hand washed them when you were up like this.
You scrubbed each dish twice, using the hottest water your skin could handle. Scrub in, out, rinse, repeat. It felt cleaner this way. You set them aside to dry, going on auto pilot after a few dishes.
Scrub in, out, rinse, repeat.
“What are you doing?” Satoru’s tired voice spoke, immediately snapping you out of your autopilot. You nearly dropped the plate you were holding.
“Jesus Satoru-“ you exhaled heavy, leaning over the sink trying to regain yourself, “what are you doing up?”
“I think a better question is why are you up? It’s nearly 4 am,” he retorted, crossing his arms.
You looked over at the clock on the counter, it read 3:52 am. You didn’t realize how late it was.
You sighed, going back to cleaning the plate you were holding. You had to restart your process.
“I couldn’t sleep, so I decided to do some cleaning,” you replied honestly, putting the plate in the drying rack.
“Why cleaning of all things to do?” He walked over to you, putting an arm around your waist, “there’s plenty of better things to do. Being productive is definitely not one of those things.”
You laughed softly, rinsing off a fork, “Is that so?” You hummed in reply.
Satoru leaned his head on top of yours, yawning loudly and dramatically, “were you planning on ever coming back to bed?” He asked.
You shrugged, “haven’t decided quite yet,” you replied in a somewhat playful tone.
Satoru hummed in acknowledgment, “you know, if you’re up doing stuff you probably haven’t realized you’re tired quite yet,” Satoru reached over and turned off the faucet, “come to bed, please?”
You looked at him, forcing his head to move from the top of yours. You scanned his expression before looking back at the sink, which was now conveniently empty. You sighed, relaxing your shoulders.
“Fine,”
Satoru kissed the side of your head, patting your butt gently as he walked away, “I’ll see you in bed then.”
You stood there for a moment, gazing at the bubbles in the sink drain. The longer you stood there, the more exhausted your body became. You realized how heavy your eyes felt, and how achy your feet felt from standing in the same spot.
Eventually you were able to get yourself moving, walking towards the bedroom. Satoru had made the bed while he waited for you, knowing how you could only sleep if the bed was made m. You smiled softly, walking over and sitting on the edge of the bed. Satoru joined you, holding a bottle of lotion.
“I noticed the water was really hot, so put some on so your hands don’t dry out,” he held the bottle in his hand, his finger on the pump.
You held out your hand, Satoru putting two half pumps into your hand, then two into his own. You weren’t really a fan of how lotion felt in your hands, but you didn’t like dry hands either- so you rubbed your hands together till you could bare the feeling.
Satoru looked at you, “better?” He asked simply.
You nodded, “for the most part.”
Satoru leaned back, rolling over onto his side of the bed. You laid down, Satoru pulling you into his arms. He nuzzled into the back of your head, closing his eyes.
“Next time, wake me up when you can’t sleep,” Satoru asked softly.
You laid there for a moment, the tiredness you felt becoming overwhelming. You closed your eyes, giving a slight nod.
“Ok…” you replied, your voice trailing off.
Your mind was tired and quiet, finally allowing you to get some sleep.

You'll Wait if I Have to Make Sure
Kento Nanami x OC
Summary: Akari is going through quite the rough patch after losing her friend, Haibara, on a mission. Kento Nanami, the only other person in her grade now, and the person she has feelings for, tries to comfort her.
Word Count: 1.4k
***This is my first time ever writing and posting fanfiction, and I wouldn’t have done it without my bestie @whispersingojo! Hope you enjoy reading!
———————————————————————
Akari laid in bed, staring up at the ceiling endlessly as if it held the answers to all her burning questions. There was a glint of sunlight streaked across the ceiling, telling her that it had become sunset at some point. Or was it the sunrise? She couldn’t remember, it had been a few days since she had left this room. She couldn’t face everyone. She couldn’t look them in the faces and say that she was alright, because the truth was that she felt far from fine.
She had failed in the ultimate way: her friend, Haibara, had died on the most recent mission. Akari let out a sigh as the images returned to her, filled with so much blood and gore. She should have been quicker, she should have been smarter. If she had been better than she is now, she could have saved him. But in the end, Akari proved to be worthless, because Haibara had been dead before he hit the ground. After all, a healing technique was useless if the user couldn’t use it effectively and save everyone in their path. There was a knock at the door.
Akari made no moves to get up from her bed.
Then a familiar voice called through the door.
“Akari, can I come in?” Kento pleaded, his voice laced with concern. “I’m… We’re all worried about you, just need to know you’re ok.” His voice trailed off, waiting for a response. Little did he know, but he was the last person she could face right now. Her eyes had widened in horror at the idea of having to see Kento’s saddened and disappointed face. He had been on the mission as well and witnessed her failure. At least the others had merely heard about it, but Kento…
“I’m alright, don’t worry about me,” Akari uttered, barely audible to Kento outside the door. She was barely holding back tears, terrified of him seeing her this way. “Just leave me alone!” The words came out harsher than she had meant and that caused her to start crying. She wrapped the blanket around her, trying to muffle her sobs, but Kento heard them clear as day this time.
“I’m coming in,” he states, with no room for defiance from Akari. At first Kento tried opening the door with the handle, only to discover that it was locked. He huffed and backed away from the door, preparing to use his strength to get inside and check on Akari. Just as he was about to charge forward, Akari’s voice called from her room.
“Wait! Wait!” she yelled, rushing towards the door to prevent him from making a scene. She fumbled with the handle nervously, tears still streaming down her face, before unlocking the door and opening it slightly. She peered out into the hallway only to be met with the intense gaze of Kento Nanami looking back at her. Only there was no frustration, anger, or disappointment on his face; he looked sad and worried, his hazel eyes taking on a bluish nature due to his emotions. That is what broke Akari.
“I’m sorry,” she sobbed, collapsing to the floor and hugging herself, causing the door to swing open more than she intended. Kento took that opportunity to enter the room and immediately sat on the ground next to her. He wrapped his arms around her tightly and felt her melt into his touch. “I tried… I’m so sorry, Kento, I tried,” she repeats her words, afraid of what he might say if she stops begging for his forgiveness.
They sit there in an embrace for a few minutes, allowing Akari to slow her breathing and her sobs to halt. After she stops crying, Kento gently places his hands on her cheeks, guiding her face upwards to look at him. He doesn’t say anything immediately, only looking over her features as he brushes her tears aside with his thumbs. He lets out a sigh and smiles down at her, his eyes adorning a new admiration for Akari in this moment of vulnerability.
“You did everything you could, darling,” he comforts her, not looking away from her eyes for even a moment. Kento closes his eyes and presses his forehead to hers, almost like he is attempting to take away her pain, like how Akari does for everyone else. “You did enough, Akari,” he whispers in the softest tone he can muster, his hands still caressing her face with the utmost affection.
Akari is taken aback by this reaction, having expected him to be angry and upset with her for not saving their friend. But instead she is met with comfort, empathy, and what seemed to be a bit of love. She would never let herself admit that this felt like love though; Kento was too good for her, a kind soul who she would serve the world to on a platter if he had demanded it.
“Thank you,” she whispers in return, placing her hands atop of his. She had felt so cold these past few days but the sheer presence of Kento had warmed her very being, thawing her heart from the inside out. “I needed that, Kento,” she admits, her breath hitching slightly due to her confession.
Kento nods and leans away from her just to look down at her face once again. Her eyes are so distant, it breaks his heart. A week ago, this was the same girl who would smile widely and ask him to go out on walks with her. The same girl who had taken his minor injuries from sparring away because she couldn’t stand the look of pain on his face. Kento frowned for a moment before composing himself; he had to stay strong in this moment, for her.
“Come on, let’s get you cleaned up,” he suggests as he stands up, his hands shifting to take a hold of hers. Akari nodded along with him, standing up alongside him and slightly leaning on him for support. Kento held onto her shoulders before leaning down to wrap an arm around her legs. “I’ll carry you to the bathroom. Hold onto my neck,” he explains simply, waiting patiently for her to prepare for him to pick her up. Akari meekly wraps her arms around his neck and murmurs an ok before Kento swings her upwards into his arms. He clutches her closely to his chest, so much so that she can hear his heart beating quicker than normal.
“I got you,” Kento whispers to her, as he carries her to the closest bathroom without any prying eyes. He sits Akari on the sink before moving over to the tub to begin drawing a warm bath for her. They both remain quiet in the short amount of time it takes for the tub to be filled with warm water. Kento checks the water one last time to ensure it isn’t too hot before turning back to her. “You can take as long as you want, let me know if you need anything,” he gently squeezes her hand before starting to head to the door to give her privacy.
“Kento,” she calls out to him, hoping he stops in his tracks. Kento had never turned around quicker than when Akari called out his name. Her gaze avoids his own and her brows furrow; her fingers pick at the loose skin near her nails nervously as she works up the courage to ask him for another favor. “Will you stay with me?”
The question catches Kento off guard but without thinking he nods.
“Yeah,” he quickly walks back over to her side, taking one of her hands back into his to prevent her from ripping off her delicate skin. He doesn’t exactly know what came over him, but Kento brings up her hand to his lips and kisses the back of her hand gently as if she were made of fragile porcelain. “Always,” he promises without meaning to, but he means it with every fiber of his being.
Eventually, Akari undresses while Kento tries to control his wandering to respect her decency. He assists her into the bathtub, where she curls into the fetal position and begins to dissociate. Kento helps her get cleaned up, sadness filling his eyes at how utterly wrecked she is; Akari, the girl that he loves, broken and bruised in the most emotional way possible. He wants nothing more than to wash away all her sadness, so he does his best by helping her bathe. There is no awkwardness in the way he takes care of her, only pure admiration.
Kento realizes he would wait an eternity for this girl, but keeps his love for her stowed away until the day Akari expresses her own interest.
Eternity is a long time, but with her there beside him, he knows he could wait.

I Answered
Word count ✮ 1.2k (part one and part two)

His body, or what was left of it, laid tired on the broken rubble beneath him. His breathing slowing, his eyes heavy. Satoru stared up at the sky, his body feeling light. He tried to take a deep breath, but was only met with blood in his mouth as he exhaled. He fought so hard, for so long- part of him was happy to be here at his end. To finally be free from what chains his life felt like.
He never thought he’d be happy to die, but here he was, looking forward to what ever was waiting for him. He hoped that maybe instead of what was waiting, it who was waiting.
As he closed his eyes one final time, a memory began to play in his mind. A memory he never thought he’d remember.
“Thought I’d find you here,” Satoru had finished hoisting himself up onto the roof, walking over to Kuromi. They were sat in the fetal position, knees to their chest- arms wrapped tightly around them. Almost like they were shielding their heart.
“Want one?” Satoru asked, holding out a can of pop that he got from the vending for Kuromi, “it’s caffeine free, don’t worry,” he added.
Kuromi looked at him, silently taking the can from him, “thanks,” Kuromi replied softly.
It had been a month since Suguru left jujutsu high to pursue his impossible goals. Satoru took it hard, but Kuromi to it hard in a different way.
Satoru sat down next to Kuromi, opening up his own can of pop, “so you gonna tell me why you’re sulking all the way up here?”
“I’m not sulking-“
“Then what are you doing then?”
The two continued to sit in comfortable silence for a few minutes. Kuromi used this time to gather their thoughts, and Satoru waited patiently for them to open up first.
Eventually, Kuromi spoke their gathered thoughts, “do you ever wish to be normal?”
“Normal? Where’s the fun in being normal?” Satoru chuckled
“Being a normal teenager, not worrying about curses or if your friends are going to die,” Kuromi rarely spoke about their feelings. When Satoru realized Kuromi was opening up, he cleared his throat.
“Nanami and I talked a while back, a little bit after Haibara passed,” Kuromi relaxed, stretching a leg out in front of them, signifying them opening up to him, “we talked about how we wanted to be normal, how we wanted boredom in our lives…we were tired of watching our classmates die and worrying about curses and our missions. We didn’t want to have the responsibility of peoples lives anymore.”
Satoru listened intently, understanding where they were coming from. From their father Toji leaving them to fend for their little siblings Megumi and Tsumiki, to Haibara dying, and now Suguru leaving-
“I’ll be honest, I like being strong and powerful,” Satoru responded, taking a sip of his pop. Satoru set the can next to him, leaning on his left hand, “I like being relied on. I don’t know if I’d want it any other way,” Satoru looked down at Kuromi’s untouched can, leaning to pop the tab open to encourage them to drink it, “but on the other hand…I don’t like being seen as a tool that jujutsu society can just throw around. I’m a person too-“ Satoru held the now open can of pop to Kuromi, “you feel like you have to be here, don’t you?” He asked.
Kuromi took the can, staring into the dark bubbly substance within it, “im just a kid who was forced to have to much responsibility. I’m strong…I’m capable because of that…but I would’ve been strong without it too- people will continue to die without me here. So I have to continue being a Jujutsu sorcerer, even if I hate it…” they took a sip of the can.
“Guess we’re both weapons in the end, huh?” Satoru chuckled, picking up his almost empty can of pop, “but hey, maybe in your next life you can be normal.”
“Maybe.”
“To normal?” Satoru held his can in front of Kuromi.
Kuromi rolled their eyes, clinking their can with his, “to normal.”
A bright light surrounded Satoru, nearly blinding him. He put his hand in front of his eyes, trying to block whatever light this was. Eventually his eyes adjusted, blinking repeatedly.
He heard to familiar voices. His heart began to race, walking and then running towards where the voices were coming from.
In the distance he saw them. Both of them. His eyes filled with tears as he ran harder than he ever could, tears flying from his eyes. Eventually the two figures noticed him.
Kuromi’s eyes immediately began to tear up, also beginning to walk towards him. Suguru grinned, walking behind the now running Kuromi.
The two slammed into each other’s arms, the pain radiating through their chests but neither of them caring. Satoru’s hands cradled Kuromi’s head, one resting behind their head and one at the base of their neck. Kuromi’s hands wrapped tightly around his torso, feeling like if they let go he’d disappear. The two softly cried, no words being spoken between them.
Eventually Satoru broke the silence, speaking quickly, “I heard your voicemails…I answered every single one of them- I’m sorry for everything it was my fault I-“
“Shut up-“ Kuromi hushed him, speaking quietly and just to him, “nothings your fault…it’s just the life of jujutsu sorcerers…”
Satoru pulled away for a brief moment, looking into their eyes. He kissed their forehead, their cheek, and then their lips.
Satoru felt like it had been a lifetime since he had last seen Kuromi, felt their skin with his. Kuromi felt the same, immediately melting into the kiss. They stayed there, enjoying the warmth and love on one another’s skin. Both thought they’d never see each other again. Mourning one another, losing the one you loved the most.
Suguru cleared his throat, chuckling softly.
Satoru broke away to look at him. They have Kuromi one last look before moving over to Suguru and hugging him just as tightly. Suguru inhaled deep as they hugged, it being even longer since they had last seen each other. So many emotions flooded Satoru, he didn’t know how to speak them into existence.
Once Satoru let go of Suguru, he turned to both of them, finally speaking.
“How long have you been waiting here?” He asked, wiping his tears.
“To long,” Suguru replied, chuckling at Satoru’s emotional state.
“We waited here for you so that we could all proceed into the next life together,” Kuromi spoke, “I know that sounds silly but-“
“No, it’s not silly-“ Satoru took Kuromi by their hands, leaning down towards them slightly, “I want to be normal with you- both of you. Have mundane lives and jobs- to he bored with you,” Satoru spoke, “I want to find you, both of you in the next life. I’ll do whatever it takes,” Satoru stood up straight, placing a hand on Suguru’s shoulder.
“I don’t know if this is our Satoru, Kuromi,” Suguru hummed, “Satoru? Wanting to be boring?”
“Let’s not dwell on it to long,” Kuromi chuckled, “let’s get a move on before he changes his mind.”
Satoru smiled, looking at his two closest friends in the world. The only two people that ever saw him as a person.
“To normal?” Kuromi asked, taking Satoru’s hand into their own.
“To normal,” Satoru replied, giving their hand a loving squeeze.

Please Pick Up
OC version (read the first part!) (x reader version!)
Word count ✮ 984

“Satoru?“
“Yea?”
“How’s your head feel?”
“Eh, a little longer…”
Satoru turned his face into Kuromi’s stomach, laughing softly and nuzzling closer. The two were sat on a bench outside of Jujutsu High. Satoru had a migraine after a long mission, so Kuromi offered to take a break from their paperwork to have Satoru lay in their lap. The two sat and laid there for quite sometime, Kuromi running their fingers through Satoru’s hair while he laid there in their lap.
“Satoru I need to finish my work- you have to get up,” Kuromi began adjusting Satoru off their lap, getting up eventually.
“Oh come on, Kuromi,” Satoru pouts, “you’re no fun,” he sits up, retying his blindfold around his eyes.
“I have to finish up my work before tomorrow, you know this,” Kuromi replied in their typical monotone voice, dusting themselves off.
“I know but what if tomorrow is the last time we ever see eacho- ow!” Kuromi punched him in the arm, stopping him mid sentence, “what was that for!” He whined playfully.
“Don’t talk like that,” Kuromi ruffled his hair, leaning down and kissing his cheek, “I’ll see you later, Bluebell.”
Satoru smiled, “see ya, my little shadow~”
Kuromi rolled their eyes and stuffed their hands into their pockets, walking away back to their office.
Satoru regretted what he said that day. He felt like it was his fault this happened because of what he said. Regardless, he felt it was his fault. It was his fault getting sealed in the first place.
Satoru sat on the outskirts of when Sukuna and Mahoraga faught. He wondered how Kuromi felt, what they saw that day. Satoru ran his hands though his hair, feeling the strands through his finger tips.
“It’s getting long…” he thought to himself…thinking about how Kuromi used to cut his hair. Satoru couldn’t cut his hair…he felt bad even touching it. He felt as if it was washing away Kuromi’s touch. He’d do anything to have Kuromi run their fingers through his hair.
Satoru looked down at the blindfold in his hand, feeling the fabric.
Satoru knew Kuromi had left him over a thousand voicemails, he had was working up the courage to listen to them. He didn’t know what to expect from Kuromi. They had never experienced such loss like this, so he didn’t know what to expect. He took out his phone and swiped it open, looking at the photo of the two of them.
Every year, since Kuromi didn’t have time to celebrate their own birthday growing up, he’d always plan a day trip for just the two of them- even before they started dating.
Satoru had brought Kuromi to a flower garden called Hitachi Seaside Park in Ibaraki prefecture. He had never seen Kuromi so happy before. The two of them took a photo together before they left, having the memory now live forever.
Satoru smiled softly at the photo, but soon remembered he’d never be able to make memories like this one again- not with Kuromi.
He tapped the contacts icon on his screen, scrolling down for what felt like ages till he reached the very first voicemail.
Satoru lifted the phone to his ear after pressing play on the voicemail.
“Hey, Bluebell…long time no see.”
Satoru couldn’t help but laugh a little, but it hurt him to hear the pain in their voice. He continued to listen to the voice, every word ripping at his heart.
“having to be strong without you is exhausting…and I know you’re not dead and I’ll eventually see you again but not knowing when…it feels worse than if you were actually dead,”
Satoru, in that moment, wished he was. He’d be with them. He wouldn’t be here with the memory of them. Satoru began to cry out of frustration with himself. Why? Why did he have to be so careless? If he hadn’t been sealed, Kuromi would still be around. He wanted to hear them tell him to rest- to take a break. He wanted to lay his head on their lap one more time. Hug them one more time. To kiss their head and tell them that everything will be ok.
When the voicemail ended, Satoru sat there in silence as he cried softly. His tears running off the tip of his nose and falling onto the ground. His tears stung his eyes, soaked his lashes. He felt like he deserved this for being so careless.
How was he supposed to be the strongest, when the person that made him strong was gone?
Satoru tapped to the call button on his phone, dialing Kuromi’s number. He lifted the phone to his ear, the ringing making his heart race. Maybe somehow they’d pick up, maybe they weren’t really dead, maybe they-
“This is Kuromi Fushiguro. Sorry I couldn’t answer your call, leave a message and I’ll call back as soon as I can.”
Satoru’d heart sank, listening to their voicemail. He took a deep breath in, trying to regain himself before leaving a message.
“Hey, little shadow…sorry I couldn’t get back to you in a timely manner,” he let out a pained laugh, trying his best to be happy, “sorry that I wasn’t there to save you…I’m sorry for all of this. I-“ Satoru sighs painfully, able to keep his heart together, “I love you, I’ll see you soon, Angel.”
He hung up, letting his hand fall into his lap. Satoru stared at the ground beneath his shoes, wondering what he was gonna do with himself.
He continued to call them every day after listening to a few of their voicemails. Satoru missed them more and more every day, each day becoming more unbearable than the last.
Satoru missed Kuromi, so much.
So he didn’t care that Kuromi would never get to hear these messages.
He just missed Kuromi, and this was all he had left of them.

Long Nights
Word count ✮ 681

You inhale deep, exhaling a large puff of grey. The smoke burned your airways as it exited. The smell brought you a strange sense of comfort. You stared across the balcony as you leaned on the railing. The loud noises of car horns and running engines drowning out your relentless thoughts that plagued your mind. You took another long drag, making sure to savor the burnt cheap taste.
You and Nanami were currently out of town in a mission you were on. You invited Nanami along, not wanting to be away from him for to long due to your anxieties. He was currently sleeping writhing the warmth of the hotel room. Today, while on part of your mission, you were unable to save someone who you clearly should’ve been able to. It’s haunted your mind, losing someone who you didn’t even know. Losing someone who you had only known for a few short minutes, who depended on you so greatly regardless.
You took another long inhale, but was quickly ended by someone grabbing it out between your delicate fingers. Your head snapped around to see Nanami standing behind you, clearly groggy. Nanami without a word snuffed the cigarette out between his fingers, throwing it off the balcony.
“Darling,”
“Nanami, I-“
“What?”
You fall silent, unable to think or talk your way out of this. You sigh, looking away from him and completely leaning against the balcony railing.
“Are you gonna talk to me?” Nanami leans his waist against the railing, looking at you with all the love in his heart. You can feel his eyes fixated on your skin.
“We were instructed to retrieve people out of this burning building. I’m leading the trauma team, telling people what to do and all that…you know my favorite thing to do,” you said sarcastically, staring down off the balcony, “there’s this kid…maybe 13 years old. He’s in agony, burns on his skin, laceration all over,” you close your eyes, every detail carved into your eyelids.
“He’s begging me to help him, I tell him I can and I start trying to use my technique on him. I can feel my skin starting to adopt his burns. That’s when my lugs feel like they fill with smoke and-“
“He died, didn’t he?” Nanami cuts you off, hearing your voice begin to tremble.
“Yeah…” you replied softly.
Nanami takes a step closer to you, finding your hand and holding it gently. He sits there waiting to feel your hands stop shaking before speaking.
“Some people, when you know you can’t save them, are better to comfort while they die,” Nanami usually wasn’t one for words, but every once in a while he’d talk to you deep down from his heart.
You leaned into him, unable to cry anymore tears. You closed your eyes and listened to his heartbeat for a moment.
“I can’t help but feel responsible for every kid that comes to me…it feels like when we were at jujutsu high all over again…”
Nanami immediately knew what you meant, hugging you closer. He didn’t say much more after that, simply holding you till he felt you relax.
After a few minutes, he leaned ever so slightly away from you, looking down at you,
“How about you get some sleep. Standing out here is only going to have you continue to think.”
“I know…and I’m sorry about the cigarette. Just…”
“I know, we’ll talk about it tomorrow,” Nanami took your hand gently, placing the other one on your lower back. He lead you inside, closing the glass door behind you both. You sat on the edge of the bed, looking down at your lap. Nanami sat on the other side of the bed, leaning towards you and placing a gentle kiss on the back of your neck.
You laid down, him pulling you to his chest and wrapping his arm around you so you couldn’t leave again. You continued to lay there, staring out at the city lights beyond the glass door.
You both knew you weren’t going to get any sleep that night.

Satoru was sitting quietly, his eyes completely fixated on his phone screen. Over a thousand missed calls from you, and over a thousand voicemails to accompany them.
He had no more tears left to cry, at least for now. Satoru had felt lost the past couple of days. He didn’t know what to do, where to go. He couldn’t bring himself to listen to the voicemails, to hear your voice missing his. Knowing that once he listen to all the voicemails, he’d never hear new words from your mouth- it left him empty. How could he let himself be sealed? Stupid Satoru. If he wasn’t so careless, you’d still be here. None of this would’ve happened. It was his fault you were gone.
As he sat with his thoughts, staring at all the voicemails, he had finally worked up the courage to listen to them. He scrolled through for what felt like ages, finding the first one.
He held up his phone to his ear after pressing play, his heart sinking at your voice.
“Bluebell…”
Every bit of his heart shattered. The way your voice shakes, holding back tears he knew were because of him. Satoru leaned over, rubbing his forehead in anger with himself.
“…but I love you. See you soon.”
He couldn’t stop himself from listening to the next one. And the one after that- and as many as he could get through till he couldn’t take it anymore.
He tapped out of voicemail category in his contacts, finding your contact easily. He pressed call, hearing it ring. And ring. And ring. Part of him hoped this was all some fucked nightmare he couldn’t seem to wake up from.
“Hello!”
Satoru’s heart jumped out his chest at your voice, opening his mouth to say something before he was cut off.
“If you’re calling me it must be important, so leave a message and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can!”
Satoru’s heart resank. He didn’t know why he thought maybe everyone was lying to him. He didn’t know why he was so hopeful. When the beep hit his ears, he decided to leave his own voicemail.
“Hey Angel…sorry couldn’t return your call in a timely manner. I miss you, too. You mean so much to me, and I’m sorry I did this to you. I’m sorry for everything,” Satoru’s heart felt empty, “I love you, I’ll see you soon, Angel.”
Satoru sat there for what felt like an eternity. He decided to start going through your voicemails, responding to as many as he could till he was needed.
He missed you so much, more than words could describe.
So he didn’t care that you’d never get to hear these messages.
He just missed you, and this was all he had left of you.

And You Never Picked Up
OC version (x reader version here)
Word count ✮ 972

It had been a month since Satoru was sealed. Kuromi was in charge of a small team of sorcerers so they didn’t have a lot of time to really think about his absence. Eventually their team had some down time, all sitting around a small fire one of the members had created. The group was laughing and telling stories about when they were all younger. A few were students, so they just sat and listened. Kuromi was mostly quiet, listening to the group alongside the students. Kuromi stared out across the shattered city, the torn apart buildings still crumbling.
The sound of everyone’s talking was soon drowned out by the thoughts of them and Satoru. How they had only just recently gotten together. They regretted all that time they could’ve been more than friends. They missed his stupid smile, and the way he’d lay his head on their lap after a long day. Their mind continued to go through all the moments they shared, smiling softly to themselves.
“Yo! Fushiguro!” One of the members shouted to them.
Kuromi was snapped back into reality, looking over at the one who shouted their name, “yes?” They replied calmly.
“What about you? You went to school with Gojo didn’t you? What was that like?” He asked, the group looking at Kuromi. Even the students were intrigued, looking at them as well.
Kuromi laughs softly, not knowing where to start, “well, he definitely hasn’t changed much since back then. If you knew him now you definitely knew him then as well.”
Kuromi continued to go on, telling stories of theirs and Satoru’s shared youth. Eventually the group moved onto other stories, allowing Kuromi to break off without much interruption.
Kuromi walked until they couldn’t hear their groups voices, pulling out their phone and opening it up.
Rumble crunched beneath their boots as they walked and found a good place to sit. They stared at their phone screen for a while, seeing photo of them and Satoru together. Shoko had taken the photo- the two sitting in a booth side by side. Kuromi was unaware of the photo being taken, and so was Satoru. The two were sharing a menu trying to pick what they wanted to eat. Kuromi argued for something salty, while Satoru argued for something sweet. This memory played in their mind, making them smile weakly at the memory.
Kuromi scrolled over to their contacts, selecting the icon on their screen and finding Satoru’s with ease. Plenty of received phone calls, the last being the day before the Shibuya incident. Kuromi stayed there on that screen for a while, wondering if they even wanted to hear his voice again. The thought of never being able to hear his voice again ran through their mind, gently encouraging them to click the call button.
Kuromi lifted their phone to their ear, the ringing making their heart race. Maybe somehow he’d pick up, maybe he wasn’t really sealed, maybe he-
“This is the Satoru Gojo! Know your missin me so leave a message and I’ll get back to you pronto!”
Kuromi’s heart sank at the truth as they listened to his voice. Their eyes closed as they let out a long exhale. Kuromi knew this would happen, but it stung all the same.
“Hey, Bluebell…long time no see,” Kuromi let out a pained laugh, not knowing what to say, “I uh…it’s been a month since you’ve been sealed, I haven’t really given it much thought since we’ve been so busy cleaning up the mess you left us,” they laughed a little more, pain clearly in their voice.
Kuromi’s heart ached more than it ever had before. They were taught to be strong, to be independent. Now they realized, that Satoru was their strength all along,
“Bluebell I-“ their voice cracked, trying to hold back the tears that were forming, “I miss you, a lot. A lot more than you would probably expect. You know I’m not a crier, so you clearly mean a lot to me,” they tried laughing away the tears, “having to be strong without you is exhausting…and I know you’re not dead and I’ll eventually see you again but not knowing when…it feels worse than if you were actually dead,” Kuromi began to completely sob. Kuromi had only cried a handful of times in their life, once when Toji left them to take care of Megumi and Tsumiki- and now when they had felt so alone.
“I wish I could see you…so maybe give me a call back when you can yeah? I love you, Bluebell- I’ll talk to you soon,” Kuromi hung up the phone, continuing to cry quietly to themselves. Part of them still hoped that he’d answer, but they knew he wouldn’t.
Kuromi eventually was able to pull themselves together and stand up. They made their way back to the group, who was still lively and talking. Kuromi took their seat back, joining in the conversation to get their mind off Satoru.
Kuromi continued to call Satoru every day after that for three years, every time part of them hoping he’d answer. But he never did.
Kuromi was in battle with Sukuna, the two packed full of cursed energy. But in the end, Sukuna was able to get the upper hand, killing Kuromi in battle
A week later, Satoru was unsealed. He immediately asking and looking for Kuromi, expecting them to be with the group that unsealed him. No one had the heart to tell him. So he went out and stumbled upon their grave. A piece of rubble that had their name scribbled on it. Satoru collapsed to his knees. Unable to understand what was happening.
He thought is was a dream, he begged it was a dream.
Sadly, this was the cruel reality of the world they lived in.

And You Didn’t Pick Up
Word count ✮ 484

It had been a month since Satoru had been in the prison realm. You had missed him, more than you could ever imagine or put into words. Everyone was too busy to check in on you, you were even too busy to check in with yourself. Eventually, you all had some downtime to take a few moments of rest.
You were tired of being around people, so you walked till you couldn’t hear anyone. The ruined city around you, the gravel and broken building beneath your feet made you uneasy being alone. The surrounding silence gave you a moment with your thoughts, a moment to remember how much you missed Satoru. His stupid jokes and laugh, the little gifts he got you whenever he went out on a mission. The random nights he knew you were staying up late in your office, so he’d bring you both dinner. The way he teased you and make laugh when you were sad. The sound of curses in the distance made itself clear in the silence, disturbing your thoughts. It reminded you of the reality you were in without him, how so much changed without him being around.
You took out your phone, swiping it open. Somehow your phone was still intact and working. You went to your contacts, opening your Satoru’s. It was no trouble finding it, since you two called each other regularly before the shibuya incident. You pressed call, listening to it ring. And ring. And ring.
“This is the Satoru Gojo! Know your missin me so leave a message and I’ll get back to you pronto!”
Hearing his voice shattered your world. You immediately began to fall apart, tears pouring out of your eyes. You missed him so much, and not knowing when or id you’d ever see him again crushed you. The beep rung loud in your ear, making you take a deep breath.
“Bluebell…” you take in a sharp breath, “I miss you- god I miss you. I don’t know when I’ll see you again, but I hope that you’ll get to hear this message,” you wiped your eyes, unable to control the tears flowing out, “I love you, I’m sorry I didn’t say that before you were gone…but I love you. See you soon.”
You hung up, finishing the voicemail. You stuffed your phone in your pocket, astonished that you even had service to call in the first place. You inhaled deep, trying to calm down. You wiped your eyes, turning around and making your way back to the group of people you were with.
You continued to do this. After every day, you’d make time to call him and leave a voicemail. You did it to hear his voice, it’s what helped you get through the day.
You did this until you and your group were ambushed by curses. You died due to your injuries.
Satoru was unsealed a week later.

Long Days
Content ✮ Nanami x Reader
Summary ✮ You both come home tired from a long day. Nanami beaten and bruised, you tired from a 12 hour shift.
Word count ✮ 843
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You returned home before Nanami, which was unusual since he usually liked to return home around 5:30. You set aside the uneasy feeling that nuzzled inside your stomach, deciding to cook something quick. You slipped on your house slippers and made your way inside your home and to the kitchen.
You grabbed a few different ingredients as your body ached and screamed for rest. You pulled out a pot to start cooking when you heard the front door open and close. A smile made its way to your lips as you put down what you had been holding and made your way to Nanami.
Nanami looked not great- his hair disheveled, tie half way off, as well as holes in his clothing. Your smile fell as it was immediately replaced with concern. You quickly made your way to him.
“Nanami are you ok? What happened out there?” You questioned, your eyes fixated on the wounds that peaked through his clothings.
“A long day,” his tone sounded tired, not having a gruesome day like this one in a while.
Your eyebrows furrowed, clearly frustrated by his answer but knowing he wouldn’t say much more till he relaxed. “Let’s get you cleaned up, then I’ll finish making us some food.”
He nodded tiredly, taking off his shoes. You took his bruised hands into your own, dragging him to the bathroom in the bedroom you two shared.
You helped him get his shirt off, putting it in the hamper you two had designated for blood stained clothes. His body was covered in bruises, scratches, and a few deeper slashed wounds. You, being the way you are, immediately reached out took take his more obviously painful wounds away with your reverse curse technique- but was stopped rather immediately.
“We talked about this, you don’t use your technique on me, I can heal on my own,” Nanami looked at you, his bland expression now accompanied by concern and sternness all mixed into one.
“But I can just-“ You looked up at him, wanting to argue in return, but the way his eyes softly pleaded with you, you sighed. Nanami leaned against the bathroom counter, watching you as you knelt and grabbed your first aid kit from under the counter. Nanami placed his hand against the counter, so that if you stood and hit your head, you would only hit his hand. Nanami did many things like this, many things you wouldn’t noticed.
You stood up and placed the first aid on the counter, opening it and beginning to take out a plethora of things to clean his wounds. As you began, you decided to ask again what had happened.
“A special grade curse,” he responded simply, watching as you tended to his wounds.
“A special grade?” You repeated, Nanami nodding in return.
“He had a patchwork face, and he was unnervingly human-“ he took a deep breath as you dabbed a towel with alcohol on it on his open wounds, “he was tiring,” he added.
You hummed in acknowledgment, “were you able to exercise him?” You asked, glancing up at him and back to your box of things.
“No, he got away. He kept going on about someone’s soul- he seemed to able to transform people when he touched them, so I couldn’t get close.”
You shivered at the thought, your stomach turning in disgust. You suddenly realized, looking up at him, “wait, Nanami exceptionally dangerous why didn’t you-“
“I’m ok, darling,” he stopped your hand, holding it for a second, almost as a reminder that he’s here in front of you and he’s ok.
You relaxed in his touch, taking a deep breath, “call for back up next time, would you? Satoru, Kuromi- whoever,” you said sternly, furrowed your eyebrows.
Nanami couldn’t help but chuckle a little bit, finding your upsetness somewhat cute, “ok, I’ll call back up,”
“I’m being serious, Nanami!”
“I know,”
You soon finished up tending to his wounds, stitching and patching up what was needed. After you were done, you took a step back, making sure there wasn’t anything else while also admiring him shirtless for a moment. You eventually ushered him into the shower, leaving to finally cook what you wanted to eat.
You were so consumed and concerned by Nanami’s wounds, you had completely forgotten how tired you were. You immediately let out a long groan as your muscles ached once more, barely able to stand. You went to the couch, practically collapsing onto it. You groaned, rolling over onto your face. It felt good to finally lay down.
You must’ve fallen asleep, because you woke up to Nanami couched next to the couch. gently running his hand into your hair. You always loved these gentle gestures. You rolled over to look at him,
“Sorry I must’ve fallen asleep-“ you apologized, sitting up.
“No need. And I ordered some take out because were clearly both tired to cook,” Nanami formed a soft, small smile.
You couldn’t help but smile in return, “I love you, thank you,”
“I love you too, Darling.”
Tipsy Kisses~
Content ✮ fluff,tipsy!Satoru x sober!reader
Summary ✮ you come home from a mission to you lovely partner Satoru tipsy, trying to make good for himself food.
Word count ✮ 1.7k
You were currently at Jujutsu High, but typing away at your computer. You were completing a report of the mission you had just returned from hours before. You groaned, leaning back in your chair stretching. Your arms stretched out above your head, eye closed.
“What are you doing here sensei?” A familiar voice asked, causing you to open your eyes and look towards the door of your office. It was Yuji! A smile formed on your face, “oh nothing, just finishing up a report for my recent mission,” you replied, closing your laptop, “what are you still doing up? Shouldn’t you be asleep?” You asked, taking on a parental role for just a moment.
“Oh, heh,” yuji laughed nervously, “sukuna is a chatterbox tonight, so it’s kinda hard to sleep ya know?”
You nodded, packing up your things to go home, “well don’t stay up to long. Maybe take a lap, yeah?” You patted Yuji’s shoulder, “take care.”
Yuji nodded with a tired smile, “right!”
Soon enough you pulled up to the shared home between satoru and you. Unlike Satoru, you preferred the simple, somewhat older home. Somehow, when you two were moving in together, you had convinced him to downsize his home into a small, quaint house. You wanted the house to feel lived in, rather than play proper within your own home. Eventually, Satoru grew to love the smaller home, but he would never admit it.
You put your car in park, grabbed your things off of the passenger seat and stepped out. After locking the door to the car, you went and grabbed the mail from the bottom of the driveway. Flipping through the envelopes, which were a mix of bills, letters, and junk. You began walking back up as you read through the contents printed on the front of each envelope.
You approached the front door of your home. You quickly grabbed your keys from off your pants, searching through the plentiful amount you had stored up. Eventually you found the key, shoving the key in and turning it.
You open the door, music filling your ears and making you smile. As you stepped into the hours, closing the door and taking off your shoes, the smell of food it your nose. Not just any food…burnt food? Satoru, unlike what you expected when you two go together, was a good cook for the most part.
You slipped on your house slippers and began walking to the kitchen, the smell of burnt food becoming more prominent. As you turned the corner, you were met with a nearly crying Satoru leaning over the stove.
You couldn’t help but laugh quietly to yourself, making him snap his head around. His glasses were covered his eyes, but you knew exactly what was going on in his head.
“You’re hooooome!” He wobbled over to you, hugging you close. You laughed a bit louder, putting your things down to return the hug, “are you drunk, bluebell?” You asked, able to smell a small amount of alcohol on his breath.
”no! He replied in a childish tone. He stood up straight and crossed him arms, “I’m 100% sober currently.”
You had recently bought him the stuff to make a mudslide, which was an alcoholic drink made with icecream and a coffee liqueur. It was sweet alcohol, which is why you knew he’d like it.
You laughed quietly, pulling on the collar on his shirt to bring him down to your level, “sure, bluebell,” you replied, placing a kiss on his cheek. You picked up your things off the floor and moved them to the table, just incase ‘sober’ didn’t see them and tripped.
You made your way over to the burn food on the stove. It was quite literally just a couple of black rocks in a pan, “so uh…what you makin?” You asked, turning your head to glance back at him.
Satoru came up behind you and put his chin on your head, “I’m clearly making black rock stew can’t you tell?” He joked, a pout forming on his face, “I was trying to make eggs but I keep burning them,” he whined. Satoru wrapped his arms around your waist and put his face into the crook of your neck, “can you make them for me, love? I keep fucking it up,” he asked, sounding genuinely upset over his inability to make himself food.
You laughed, turning around In his arms to look at him, “you’re cute when you’re drunk,” you smiled, placing a kiss on his forehead, “I’ll make you some eggs ok? You just sit right over there and they’ll be done in a giffy, bluebell.”
Satoru let go of you and wobbled his way over the table where you had sat all your stuff. He pulled out the chair and fell quite dramatically into it. You knew he was playing up how drunk he was, since he didn’t enjoy drinking or getting drunk in general. Regardless, he was being cute so he was gonna get what he wanted.
You quickly threw out the black, burnt rocks in the pan and gave it a wash, not wanting the new eggs to taste burnt. You opened the fridge, pulling out the eggs and milk and setting them on the counter.
“How was the mudslide?” You asked, pulling a bowl out of the cupboard.
“It was good, honestly,” he replied, returning somewhat back to his normal self, “I could still taste some of the alcohol so I was only able to have half of what I made,”
“That’s good I’m glad. Now do you want fluffy eggs or normal eggs?” You asked, cracking a few eggs into the bowl.
“Hmm fluffy,” he replied, taking his glasses off and cleaning them with his shirt.
You began mixing a small amount of milk into the eggs, which helps make them fluffy. You hummed to yourself softly, putting the milk away. You turn in the stove, put a little bit of butter in the pan so the eggs don’t stick, and wait for the pan to heat up.
You couldn’t see it, but Satoru was staring at you. He loved watching you do mundane things, like cooking or cleaning. He enjoyed doing those tasks with you too, unlike before. You showed him the enjoyment of keeping a household together, instead of paying someone else to do it for him. Satoru stood from his chair, walking towards you. His arms snaked around your waist, holding you close to him. He set his chin on you, not saying a word.
You smiled, enjoying his quiet closeness. You dumped the eggs into the pan, hearing the sizzle as you grabbed a spatula.
You two stayed there in silence, just enjoying each other. You pushed around the eggs in the pan, watching them slowly clump together. Satoru placed a kiss on your head, before letting go to grab the two of you plates.
As the eggs finished up, you turned off the stove and moved the pan over into another burner.
Satoru set the plates down next to you, as well as forks he grabbed as well. You served the eggs onto the plates, putting the pan back on the burner to cool before washing.
As you two sat down, you noticed a smile on Satoru’s face, “what you smiling about over there?” You asked, taking a bite of your food.
“oh nothing…you just make me happy is all,” he replied, also taking a bite.
You began thinking for a moment, putting your fork down, “you purposely burnt those eggs didn’t you?”
Satoru chuckled softly, “maybe,”
You laughed, “how did you know I was coming home?”
“A magician never reveals his secrets,” he gave you a wink.
You rolled your eyes, picking the fork back up.
The two of you continued to eat your eggs, talking about how your mission went. It was nothing special, just in and out like usual. When you finished up your plate, Satoru stood up and took both his and your plate to the sink. It warmed your heart how much of a gentleman he was becoming.
“wanna watch a movie?” Satoru asked, beginning to wash the dishes.
“Sure! Lemme get a shower. you pick a movie, I’m too tired to do so,” you replied, walking over to the left side of satoru.
You gave him the eyes you always gave him when you wanted a kiss. He looked at you, chuckled a bit, and gave you a kiss. You giggled to yourself happily and skipped away, going to take a nice hot shower- which is what you needed after a long day.
Once you had finished up with your absolutely amazing shower, you quickly dried your hair and put on some comfy clothes. Nothing felt better than a good shower and clean clothes to you. You made your way out into the living room, where Satoru was sat on the couch looking through whatever streaming service he had chosen.
You took a seat next to Satoru, leaning into him curiously, “any decision on what we’re gonna watch?” You asked, watching him scroll through the movies.
“How about A Few Moments of Cheers? It looks cool, it came out in June,” he replied, reading the reviews and summary.
“Sure!”
Satoru pressed play on the movie, started to get comfortable on the couch. He laid across the couch, allowing you to crawl on top of him and lay your head on his chest. Satoru grabbed the blanket on the back of the couch, throwing it over the both of you.
The warmth of both the blanket and Satoru’s body made you instantly tired, the sound of his heartbeat in your ears didn’t help either. You tried you best to stay awake, but the exhaustion of the day was getting to you. You ended up falling asleep a few minutes into the movie.
You woke up a few hours later, the room was dark and the tv was off. You noticed you were still in the same place, and when you turned your head up to look at Satoru, he was passed out. You smiled, nuzzling back into the same spot you were just in. He was breathing softly, his heartbeat slow and steady. You closed your eyes, taking a deep breath and letting it out.
“I love you, bluebell,” you whispered softly. Soon enough, you fell back asleep in his arms.
“This doesn’t make any seeeeeeeense,” Satoru whiner, leaning back into his chair letting his head fall back.
“It’s not that bad, look-“ you began explaining some of the math on the paper to him, making him groan louder.
“‘Toru you’re surely never going to learn if you don’t try. You have to be pretty AND smart if you ever wanna get a girlfriend,” you put your cheek in your hand, looking at him with a questioning expression.
“No I don’t you know that,” he lifted his head, raising an eyebrow at you and winking.
You looked away, blush starting to form on your face, “let’s just keep working,” you picked your pencil that at and put the one the Satoru put down back forcefully into his hand.
You continued to explain the countless problems on the paper. Some he could understand. Seeing how proud of himself he was for being able to understand they questions made you happy. Seeing him happy made you happy.
Satoru put his pencil down. He leaned back, stretching his tired bones, “I’m getting tired of all these numbers…can we stop for the day? Pleeeeeeaase?” He gave you his biggest puppy eyes he could muster up.
You sighed, leaning back into your chair, “I guess, but we have to finish this tomorrow! Got it?” You pointed your pencil at him and gave a playful glare.
Satoru stood up excitedly, “how does ice cream sound?”
“Thats random…but I guess,” you picked up your pencil case, unzipping it and placing the pencils you had used back into the case, “can you hand me you paper?”
“Oh yeah sure,” Satoru picked up him paper, handing it over to you.
“Thanks,” you looked down at the paper, realizing that his name wasn’t written on the paper, “‘Toru are you nine?” You asked in a disappointed tone.
“What did I do!”
“Your name isn’t on the paper! Yaga literally marks off points for that!” You gently slammed the paper back into the table. Ripping open your pencil case, you slammed the pencil on top of the paper as well, “name,” You said sternly.
“Uuuuugh, fine,” he groaned, picking back up the pencil and scribbling his name on the paper, “can we go now?”
You giggled, picking the paper back up, “yes, we can go now,” you paper clipped all the stuff together, leaving it in a nice pile on the table.
When you turned around to follow Satoru, he was already half way out the door. You shook your head, jogging to catch up with him.
When the two of you finally got to the park where the ice cream stand was, Satoru stopped, “I’m ordering your ice cream,” he said sternly, putting his hands on his hips. Satoru leaned down to your height, “and I’m gonna guess your favorite ice cream.”
“Oh god this is gonna be a disaster,” you mumbled, looking back up at him, “fine then! I’m sure you don’t even remember it anyways,” you spoke to him as if it was a challenge, “I’m gonna go sit over there then, guess meet me there when you’re done.”
Satoru nodded with determination before spinning around to go get your ice creams.
As you sat down beneath the umbrella of your table, your phone when off. You leaned to one side of your body to pull it out, flipping your phone open. You noticed it was Shoko! It read:
S Where the hell are you??
Y I’m out with ‘Toru getting ice cream why??
S We were supposed to go out today that’s why!!
S you hate me now I see how it is…
You laughed to yourself, watching as Shoko’s life supposedly fell apart. The two of you texted back and forth a bit before Satoru came back with your ice creams.
You flipped your phone closed, stuffing it back into your pocket,
“I told the guy up there we’re on a date so we could get free ice cream,” Toru reached out your ice cream to you.
“Oh my god,” you shook your head, “you can’t be lying to people,” you sighed, taking your ice cream from him.
“But free shit! And plus,” he pulled out his chair and sat down, “maybe it could be a date.”
You were mid lick into your ice cream when he said that, “did you trick me into going out on a date with you?”
“Maybe,” he snickered as he took a lick of his own ice cream.
You were to stunned by his words to even recognize what flavor your ice cream was, so you went in for another lick. Your face grew hot rather fast with blush. Both out of his comment-
And the fact he actually got it right.
“So?” He was already half way through his ice cream.
“You got it right, actually,” you responded, enjoying yourself now.
“See? I’m not all that stupid all the time,” he smiled at you, which made butterflies take off in your stomach.
“Umm…sir,”
The two of you looked over to see a girl with trembling hands holding a small piece of paper. She looked extremely nervous. You looked further past her to see a group of more girls standing pretty far behind her all giggling to themselves.
“Yeah what’s up,” he said, taking a bit out of the cone of his nearly finished ice cream.
Satoru side eyed you out the corner of his glasses, which met your side eye. You both knew where this was going.
“Can- can I um…get your number?” The girls held out the small piece of paper. All the girls behind her had gone silent.
“Sure! Got a pen?” He asked sitting up.
“Oh right I’m sorry!” She scrambled through her side bag for a pen. Once she found one, she basically threw it at him.
You were a bit shocked. Weren’t you two supposed to be on a date? You were so lost.
“There you go! Give me a text in a little bit!” Satoru winked at the girl, whose face was deep red with blush.
“Thank you!” She said as she took the piece of paper and ran back to her friends.
“Let’s get going now shall we?” Satoru said, a bit eager to leave.
“Oh uh ok-“ you said standing up and following Satoru.
All the girls gave you a weird look, kinda like a we got your man kind of look.
You looked up at Satoru once you two were far enough from those girls, “so what was up-“
Satoru interrupted you, “I gave them Yaga’s number,” he said confidently.
Your jaw dropped, “No you didn’t! He’s gonna kill you!” You began laughing, almost needing to stop.
“What you think I’m gonna throw my amazing date under the bus like that? Never in a million years!” He laughed softly.
You two continued walking, wiping the tears from your eyes from how hard you were laughing. You had finally calmed down from your fit of laughter, your stomach still hurting.
“I’m thinking this weekend we go to a restaurant and tell them it’s your birthday for some free ice cream,” Satoru thought out loud.
“Is this your attempt at asking me for a second date?” You raised and eyebrow up at him.
“Maybe,” he responded with a smile.
You giggled, taking his arm into yours, “sure, we’ll go scam some people out of their ice cream,” you blushed lightly.
“Score!” He laughed, a small amount of blush forming on his cheeks.
Guess he was right.
He didn’t have to be pretty and smart to get a partner.
