Got reminded this place exists today! Can't even remember the last time I posted anything here, but I guess the world has changed....both digitally and in reality.

I still stream over at twitch.tv/whiteblazingphoenix, because my love for video games is one thing that will never die.

But I'm, I guess, version 3.something of myself now. Whether that's good or bad, I haven't really figured out yet.

Game of the Day 88/365: FarCry 3 (PC) I've played a few of this open world shooter series but this is the I've spent the most time with so far. An entire tropucal paradise is yours to run around in but it's not all fun in the sun; you're engaged in your own little war with the pirates that rule the roost, captured your friends and killed your brother. Game of the Day 87/365: Super Smash Bros. Melee (Gamecube) I bought a Gamecube just to have this sequel after getting to try it out in the Chips shop in Bishop Auckland. Nintendo took everything from the first game, amped it up to 10 and then just a little more to 11. New fighters, stages, modes and items plus the excellent Gamecube controller (which I still use to play Ultimate to this day) makes for the single best multiplayer fighting game at the time. Game of the Day 85/365: Jurassic Park (SNES) Of the JP games I've played, this one still sticks out to me. As Dr. Grant it's up to you to wander the iconic Isla Nublar in search of items that can help you escape. Of course. the dinos aren't going to make it easy for you! Game of the Day 83/365: Rocket Knight Adventures (Mega Drive) Sonic wasn't the only animal hero on Sega's legendary console; enter Sparkster, an opossum with a rocket pack and armour (because why not?) who blazes across the screen on his journey to save his kingdom from an army of invading pigs! The ability to boost your way through the stages makes for some clever gameplay, not to mention some i incredibly tense boss fights! Game of the Day 82/365: Lord of the Rings - The Battle for Muddle-Earth (PC) Tolkien's epic fantasy meets Command & Conquer! Take control of the forces of Good and Evil and do battle through iconic locations from the films. While the sequel refined and added a lot of cool stuff, the original is still a good time all its own. Game of the Day 81/365: Star Wars: X-Wing (PC) The first in one of the most celebrated sets of Star Wars games to exist, this space combat sim lets you live the fantasy of hopping into the cockpit of the X-Wing starfighter itself (along with other Rebel craft as well). While much less technically advanced than its successors, it's still a blast to chase down a screaming TIE as you try to get that laser lock. Game of the Day 80/365: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (Game Boy Advance) While the original FFT is praised for being rather epic, its follow up on the GBA seems to get underappreciated often. The gane follows Marche as he's sucked into the world of Ivalice and his quest to rerurn to the real world, taking part in turn based team tactical battles along the way. What sets this apart from others of the genre is the Law system; in nearly every battle a Judge is present to enforce a random rule that's in play for the duration. It can be sonething as sinple as 'no healing magic' to tough stuff like 'Don't use melee weapons'. If you break the rules, be prepared for consequences! Some disliked this mechanic but I personally enjoy it; it forces you to adapt your strategy! Game of the Day 79/365: Skitchin' (Mega Drive) One of the most 90s games I've ever known! Skitchin' (skating and hitching, get it?) is the more cool and hip cousin of Road Rash, sharing a lot of the former's gameplay. The big difference of coyrse is that you're skating instead of biking, so the obly wayto get anywhere fast is to hitch a ride on passing vehicles. Game of the Day 78/365: Civilization II - Test of Time (PC) While I'm more familiar with the original version, this is possibly the definitive edition of a classic.
