I love a 'mechs was Jon's college band' AU as much as the next person, but I there's something that isn't talked about enough with them. it's the implication that, if the mechs exist, then Nikola stole the voice box of one of them, one of Jon's friends. the angst potential of that is INSANE and it'd make every Nikola-Jon interaction that much more horrifying. I really don't think it's talked about enough.
