No idea when or if I'll return to pokeblogging, but I made a new RP blog about a Yoshi touring various Mario Kart tracks and rating them, if anyone's interested!

Hello!

I'm Yotri, a Yoshi! I live on Yoshi Circuit, and I was always fascinated by the races that take place there. Recently, I did some research into them, and apparently they're part of a whole recurring karting tournament! And there's a ton more tracks than just my home island!

I decided I wanted to see what it's like, so I got myself a racing kart, and started traveling the world. I'm going to try to visit every track that's been part of these tournaments, and I'm going to give my reviews on them!

Keep in mind that I'm a racing amateur, so my thoughts on the tracks will probably be different than yours, especially if you're a racing pro.

I'll be rating each track according to the following metrics, each on a scale of 1 (worst) to 10 (best):

Fun: How much fun is it to drive around on them? Accessibility: How easy was it to get to the track, and how accessible is the track itself for a newcomer like me? Aesthetics: How nice is the scenery of the track to look at, as well as the track itself? Pleasantness: How nice is it to spend time around the track? Food: How yummy is the food served near the track, if there is any? Overall: Taking all the above factors into account, how good do I think the track is?

Hi! @ifbench here! It's been a while since I've done much RP on tumblr, but I was struck with an idea for a fun thing, and made this blog!

This is an in-universe blog for a Yoshi in the Mario world, touring the different Mario Kart tracks and rating them according to various metrics.

A few rules and important information before I start:

You're free to send Yotri asks! Feel free to ask Yotri about anything from his track ratings to his personal life! However, please no NSFW asks. This is a strictly SFW blog.

In-character asks and interactions from other RP blogs are welcome, even if they're not a Mario RP blog! Non-RP blogs are free to interact too!

Please be patient with me. It may take a while for me to answer asks, or get to certain tracks. I do intend on doing as many official Mario Kart tracks as I can, ideally all of them.

On that note, certain tracks may be grouped together, such as each of the SNES tracks sharing a course type, and the GBA Bowser Castles, among possibly others.

I intend on only doing the latest release of each track, though if earlier versions have something interesting that later releases lack (such as Sky Garden), I'll try to take that into account.

The exception to these are Tour-exclusive retro track remakes. I'm sorry, but I'd rather not play Mario Kart Tour. I'll try to do research for Piranha Plant Pipeline, at least, as it's the only Tour-exclusive track that's wholly unique, but that's all I'll be doing. My apologies.

About humans, like in general? Uhhhh... hm.

I think my favorite thing would have to be how creative people are. We can make all these really cool things like food and buildings and paintings and stuff, and I think that's really neat, especially with all the variety and everything—

Wait, Tropius? Like the Pokémon? I didn't know Tropius could type—I mean, no offense, but like... is it hard typing and using a phone or computer and stuff? I mean Simisear gets around my phone just fine, but Simisear has hands and I don't think Tropius do.... I dunno, Cilan would probably know. Is it hard using technology though?

I never met any humans until I arrived here in the human world recently! And now I interact with humans all the time!

The last poll was intriguing, even though there were only 8 votes. Seeing that none of the respondents said they had either always been with or never been with humans is very interesting. The lack of answers for never having been with humans is perhaps to be expected, since this is a human-dominated platform. I would think the converse, always having been with humans, should be more prevalent then, hence this poll to see if was simply sampling bias.

Your species is much larger than mine, so you might have something of the opposite of my problem. In the lab the students often look well over me, bumping their hips in my face. Do humans ever not notice you? Have you ever managed to sneak by a human?

Well, I guess I might still be a bit biased from the whole Plasma thing. They'd teach us that humans are inherently cruel beings..

I'd say that my favorite thing about humans is their compassion. Mankind isn't as evil as Plasma wanted us to believe. Most humans are caring and loving. I was lucky enough to meet such people after my time in Plasma. These people helped me get better and heal, and are living proof that humans can be good-hearted and kind.

Oh, I also love our creativity ! We created Pyramid Head after all, which is pretty neat.

I would have to say my favorite thing about being human would be my hands. Any Pokémon or person can come up with beautiful thoughts, but I feel like it’s harder to make jewelry without opposable thumbs!

Hey folks! I know I've not posted on tumblr in a hot minute (I've been mostly on bluesky) but I figured I should blast this out to as many places as possible.

i like that humans write things down! if you go to a library or museum you can learn all sorts of things from all sorts of places. in that way knowledge can spread very far for a very long time! :-]

speaking of, your blog says that youre a tropius, which. i guess sort of discredits that entire last paragraph, since you obviously wrote the ask im responding to. X-[ do you know if tropius where youre from differ at all from the tropius where you are now? :-O
