( i think ) Prompts - Technology and music and midnight ( I know I already used it ) I honestly wanted to at least use the entire first verse but I got exams the whole week . Today's delusion : 'The Archer' is a Mello song

Another day and another delusion . This time its one of my favorites from the 'Taylor Depression playlist' , everybody please welcome 'The Archer' on stage!

The opening lyrics start with a very "Mello-esque" word , combat , now this could symbolize many things but I'm going to go with his constant need to prove himself to others ( especially Near )

In my interpretation , the line "I jump from the train , I ride off alone" , is about Mello leaving Wammy's House and riding off alone to "live life his own way" . He never grew up ( I mean what more do you want me to say? )

Okay this is one of my favorite Taylor lines to date but unfortunately I can't explain it as well as Google so let me just copy paste the meaning of "Cutting one's nose to spite their face" :

Definition of 'to cut off your nose to spite your face'. If you say that someone is cutting off their nose to spite their face, you mean they do something that they think will hurt someone, without realizing or caring that it will hurt themselves as well. You can do the math yourself but if you don't want that then let me explain . The phrase mentioned above is very Mello coded because well he has tried so many times to get a upper hand against Near only for that to backfire and give Near more of an advantage .

Mello is a L stan just like the rest of us . If you don't think that's the case then read 'Death Note Another Note : L.A BB Murder Cases' . Now , how did L die? alone .

I don't need to explain this breakdown of a bridge . The speaker in the song is literally having a breakdown , the speaker being Mello ofc .

Lets talk about the chorus as part of the conclusion : In my interpretation , the archer means to actively hurt someone but it is also followed by "I've been the prey" . So doing extreme mathematics we can conclude that the Speaker is shooting arrows at themselves . WHO does that remind you of? Mello.

Today's delusion : 'this is me trying' is highly Mello coded

On this special occasion I will explain to you , fellow clowns , on why 'this is me trying' is without a doubt a song about Mello

We're going to use verse 2 as a starting point . The first line -"The told me all my cages were mental" - talks about the speaker's ( in our case Mello's) inner turmoil . As in all of the cages/conflicts he goes through is all in his head ( inferiority complex enters the chat ) The third line - "And my words shoot to kill when I'm mad" is very self explanatory . Mello's an angry dude so we can all assume that he probably said some horrible shit .

Mello was definitely a gifted child ( duh ) which is evident in the fact that he was the only one in Wammy's House to rival Near . So in a way compared to his peers he "-was so ahead of the curve" . But his one sided rivalry led to him not gaining any sort of emotional maturity . This all resulted in him not having a chance to grow up past the age of 15 which all circles ( hey! ) back to the line "-the curve became a sphere" . "-and I ended up here" , where? A roadmap to his death duh .

Today's delusion - 'Dear Reader' is about Mello or is very Mello coded

These lines can be about Mello at 15 leaving Wammy's House especially the line "Desert all your past lives" . Past lives being his time in Wammy's .

The line 'Where I pace in my pen" can be about his writing hobby that we know is real thanks to L.A BB Murder Cases . Somebody explained that the line "No one sees when you lose when you're playing solitaire" could mean that no one sees the speaker losing a battle against themselves / their internal struggles . The reasoning being that solitaire is a game you play by yourself . Which circles back to Mello and his own inferiority complex . No one sees when he loses when he's playing solitaire
