For that, it seems that I… I mean my letter was able to bring more smiles to the iast! A proud Ciero deserves to be smug for three weeks to keep the peace, after all! About the depictions on the books… You need not worry at all! All heroic books mostly—though I should say always contains most achievements, which kind of confused us if they experience more internal problems, but it seems to inspire most, so it's fine, I suppose. Wait… The letters come out from your appliances? That is quite weird… I thought it will come mailboxes too! No wonder I got a toast after your letter. However, I got hungry, so I ate it on the way to school… Where I am answering the toastless bunny's response! I sure hope Ciero could tell us! I mean you and me!

Now… To answer your questions…

Do you still have superheroes in whatever time you live in? what are they like?

We do! In fact, there are so many academies focused on making heroes and villains and to maintain the balance! They also have interesting costumes that inspire me to make more clothes for those dashing successors—I mean New Generation heroes; yes, I am also one of those heroes and designers at the same time… I am still practicing on the design part, to be honest.

Is it peaceful there? Did we make a better future for you all or…that might be too sad of a thing to ask.

Personally… It is peaceful! The best city, in fact to the point I fell in love with Rose Bay the moment I transferred here! The people here are helpful, kind, compassionate and determined to keep Rose Bay safe, whether they are heroes, villians, or everything in between! But… You know, someone just had to break the peace just because she "does not feel Rose Bay's compassion", what a downer. And she had the gall to belittle your heroic deeds too! And now things go flipping upside down, to the point I would not even know who is the villain, hero, or even our actual enemy here… Did I ramble too much? Sorry for telling all this, I am just disappointed on a certain someone for not keeping her things to herself. We will still fix it for you and for everyone, no worries! I hope I can guarantee it though.

To repay you from 'stealing' your toast, I shall deliver some merch from here to there! Can we call it a fair trade or you want to have the exact toast?

Dear Charlene, I don't kering how much ally that much more peaceful considering how much more singing that causes, but eh, I like to see him happy : ).

It's understandable on the books, We definitely have…plenty of internal problems, but I don't think it'd be very inspiring to read about my therapy sessions in a book about heroic acheivements unless we're counting my therapy breakthroughts as achievements, which Ciero seems to find a lot more impressive than my ability to fight crime, for reasons I don't think I need to go into.

and yeah no clue what's up with that, it might be because i boobytrapped our mailbox or something but i'm not going to pretend to be an expert on time-travelling mail box functions. Ciero certainly doesnt' seem to be one despite knowing SOMETHING about it.

thank you for answering my questions, that…all makes me feel a lot better. So now theres schools for it…I wish you kids weren't getting into all this, its too bad we're still needed at all, but I'm glad you're getting prepared. Keep your designs practical okay? like feel free to get creative and have fun but it's kind of a pain to fight in a big frilly cape and dress I can say from my early days…doable but not great.

to think someone could really like this city other than me, that brings me a lot of peace…thank you, it's a shame someone else is still causing trouble, I wonder if any descendants of my therapist Howie are around, he sure was a good therapist. has his girl tried therapy? this is a lil character from a cybervictorian story i'm working on named Daisy, a little alien robot that fell to earth and recruits a team of magical girls (well , theres a magical boy too) to help her stop her former master from taking over, or possibly even destroying the town they live in! she's about the size of a little porcelain doll and i just love how cute she turned out ehehehe, i think this is the perfect setup for my third original book!

Not that anybody asked, but I think it's important to understand how shame and guilt actually work before you try to use it for good.

It's a necessary emotion. There are reasons we have it. It makes everything so. much. worse. when you use it wrong.

Shame and guilt are DE-motivators. They are meant to stop behavior, not promote it. You cannot, ever, in any meaningful way, guilt someone into doing good. You can only shame them into not doing bad.

Let's say you're a parent and your kid is having issues.

Swearing in class? Shame could work. You want them to stop it. Keep it in proportion*, and it might help. *(KEEP IT IN PROPORTION!!!)

Not doing their homework? NO! STOP! NO NOT DO THAT! EVER! EVER! EVER! You want them to start to do their homework. Shaming them will have to opposite effect! You have demotivated them! They will double down on NOT doing it. Not because they are being oppositional, but because that's what shame does!

You can't guilt people into building better habits, being more successful, or getting more involved. That requires encouragement. You need to motivate for that stuff!

If you want it in a simple phrase:

You can shame someone out of being a bad person, but you can't shame them into being a good person.

Car crash's sister, Decent Driver

just a fun little sketch I did of a design for her, she has high visibility markings on her clothes and she's meant to resemble a stop sign. on her days shes not wandering the city correcting driving mistakes with her powers and preventing car accidents (one of the only superhero-esque things she COULD do without counting as an official superhero, thus being able to survive heartbreakers reign of terror though she always felt sad she couldn't go further than that in her superheroing especially given her brother used his powers to cause so much damage) she runs a driving school where she teaches people how to drive safely in a city filled with supervillains and superheroes and how to handle emergencies on the road. She's saved a lot of lives, but she hides her good deeds for the sake of being able to stay alive while working. once heartbreaker died though and halcyon came to be, she realized it was safe to be a hero, and she put together a cute little outfit for herself and went out to do good, likely learning under Halcyon like many other new heroes are.

she's about 31 or so I'd think, and she also runs a car repair place as her day job :) Her sidekick is called BOY mostly because he has no powers and it just kind of started with her being like "now boy ya gotta get on over here with that screwdriver" and she did that often enough that his nickname just became Boy, hes very unhappy his nickname is just Boy and yes supervillains do make fun of him about it if he ever runs into them, thankfully , thats when Decent Driver crashes the supervillains own getaway car into their knees and Boy cuffs them while theyre yelling about it. She's based on some of my favorite family members :) and I love her very much

Reading your letter is like reimagining how fun a peaceful world is like, laying with capybaras, eating meal, having conversations with the crew (the hairdresser?)... They seem really nice memories to look back, and you all deserve it for your heroism!

Though it seems that our books about you are true and I am happy you are learning to socialize with people with THE Ciero in both letter writing and in-person interactions! If only someone in our time takes the same effort to be as dashing as you are!

I still cannot believe that letter arrived in your hands and I got the reply... Looks like we can get in touch for some time!

My official take on fan content in relation to my work

Any and all fan content is a deep compliment to any creator in my opinion an one of my biggest hopes as a writer is that I can create a world my readers want to get lost in.

my only rule is that I ask that you be kind to one another if you do create fan content, don't tell someone their oc cant be this or that they did something wrong when they made them, don't tell them who or what they can't ship, if you don't like how someone plays with their toys, just don't play with that person. No fandom police. Don't you DARE dox each other. remember the rule of Ao3, don't like, don't read. it costs nothing to leave people alone. and try to be supportive of each other please, if someone writes a fanfiction and you like it and you can put into words why you liked it, or even leave an emoji? Please do! it's okay if you don't or if you're uncomfortable doing it, but if you can, it would help the fandom grow and it would help us have more fun in this space together because man it sucks doing things all by yourself- if someone draws fan art? not only can you @ me and let me know so i can reblog it and gush about it too, but tell them what you liked! if you wan't to support Halcyon, the best support you can give is supporting EACH OTHER.
