Death did, indeed, claim the witcher one cold afternoon. So Regis decided to take on the mantle of being a witcher in his honour, in an attempt to atone for mistakes he made in his past that have seemingly tied his fate to that of Geralt: a man who he keeps meeting each time Geralt is reborn.

Jaskier introduces Valdo and Lambert in the vain hope that the two of them will get along in the most Bardic of traditions. And they do - like a house on fire. Like a match set to dry tinder. Like lightning striking in the middle of summer.

That is to say, they match each other wits for wits and Jaskier immediately regrets his decision and flees at the first opportunity.

It's not all chocolate and roses. Nilfgaard is spreading across the Continent like a plague and with it the revelation of secrets that some had hoped would remain hidden forever. Between prophecy and destiny, between a sword and a crown, Valdo feels his loyalties and convictions tested. Good thing he has his very own Witcher to help him along the way.
