The Mind of Reggie Might

fucking hell I got dragged into a new interest so here's my analysis

Basically, I was watching simo's most recent stream, and I noticed some things behind how he talks to Billy

I know.. a decent amount of Reggie's behavior and character from a friend, but this is also like my second stream I've watched so bear with me LMAO

Here we go

He’s challenging and pushing Billy by saying he’s incapable. Reggie works off of spite, he’s trying to do the same with Billy

“So why do you think if I give you this chance- that I don’t have some kind of faith you can pull it off.” Hes saying to Billy "You can do this, I know you can, but you need to show me you can, and you’re not."

Let's be honest, this entire project of Billy's is a challenge. Reggie/Simo has said it himself, Reggie is making this a challenge for Billy so he can go to the rest of the company and tell them that Billy is capable, and can handle more responsibility. He knows Billy is capable, but this is going to be tangible PROOF of that. It can't be argued.

Hes asking Billy why he isn’t like “fuck yeah, I can do this, this is what I need to do”, and that's his way of telling him about the challenge.

“Prove them wrong” Reggie knows he’s capable and smarter than this, but using the excuse and view of others to say that LMAO. Cause reggie will never say to Billy that he's doing good or capable, cause it gives the illusion that he WONT drop him if he fucks up. It makes Billy think he's safe and can fuck around, when he can't. He's not at that level yet. Again, Simo has SAID that reggie will never tell him he's doing good.

“Sink or swim” Part of the challenge is figuring out what he needs to succeed. If he needs a Billy, he needs to find and get one himself. Basically, no shit this is a lot of work and you’ll need help with it, but YOU need to source and find that help yourself to get it done.

Recognize the issue (needing help) and solve it (getting help) instead of relying on others to do it for you.

Its another part of the test, making sure he can problem solve and be self sufficient, and thrive when no one else will help him. Hes making him figure out how to get help himself.

Billy can use spite to work, and reggie saw that, so he’s using spite again to push Billy to figure it out. Even if it didn’t work out great the first time, cause Billy was thinking more out of spite and less “okay, this is what I need to do this right”. Hence the shitty Billy that didn’t help him- he needs to find people, or find out how, to command others and get them to work. Not just because he was told to, because then he’ll get shitty parts and it won’t do any good. He needs to think, then get the good pieces so he can make the entire machine run better.

Find the right people, the right pieces, to get the job done right.

Reggie is SMART, this is meant to teach Billy a shit ton of how to make it in this world.

He’s pushing his head underwater so Billy is forced to find a more efficient way to swim.

Billy can’t just do the task, he needs to find a way to do it EFFICIENTLY and make it better in the end. So, he gives him a super hard task so he HAS to find a better way, and it’s a skill he’ll learn to use in the future. He’s forcing him to learn these skills, because if Billy can’t, then he doesn’t have the resourcefulness or ability to adapt and address things in a smart way, and he’s not cut out for this.

It’s a trial by fire, and he wants to see him come out fireproof. He knows he can.

He's TRYING to tell him how to do it, he's hinting at it and practically telling him, but Billy doesn't get the point

Billy saying hes dissapointed in reggie and how he should have been handling this better is HILARIOUS, because its exactly what reggie is thinking and should be telling HIM. Reggie is dissapointed, because Billy should have handled this better.

"Youre not a project manager" he's telling reggie everything he should be telling himself. Reggie doesn't give a SHIT about what Billy is saying because he knows he can do it. BILLY still needs to prove he can.

Reggie doesn't need a title or validation, and Billy needs to learn that too. Billy looks for too much help, he looks too much at others, he needs to know how to do it HIMSELF. Like, how reggie gets it done.

Reggie works with tough love. He wants to see people succeed, he wants to help them, but if he just helps them, they'll never learn to take care of themselves. Only those that have proven themselves (like KJ) as people he can trust and that can handle themselves, he'll help freely.

So, he forces them to learn. He cares, but he forces them to learn themselves, and that's how he shows that care. By helping them get better. Otherwise, he won't spare them a second glance, because they aren't worth his time.

"Just say 'I've fucking got this, you dipshit." Reggie is TELLING him he can do it, but Billy needs to believe he can do it, then suit up and do whatever has to be done to GET it done. Whether that's putting the plants on hold to find a Billy of his own, or make a better spreadsheet.

Meanwhile, reggie can't resist a puzzle and got sucked into figuring out the plants himself. Which, the slow tiptoeing around the edge until he falls onto the rabbit hole was ALMOST as funny as his descent into madness towards the end of stream.

Inititally had Phil KO'ed on the ground behind him but gonna use that sketch for another angst piece ;). But yeah I have so much lore about Missa man like if your not gonna make any I WILL make some for you man. Basically magical girled him but what else are ya gonna do.

So yeah this thing + subsequent google doc of 3k words of made up lore was spawned by Missa saying in one his last streams that hes immortal. So yeah I feel a bit unhinged in how much drawing this absorbed me for the past couple days.

Added bracelets representing death family, changed hair color, made previous weird single colored belt into belt of phalanges, etc etc. Added back the hand hood from original design because that was my favorite part and I'm pretty proud of the sickles. They might be a little to de-saturated I'm not sure. Ignore this is the same background as a few pieces ago there is literally one good picture of Rose' Sanctuary man.

I'm so tired my brain is leaking out my ears I had so much to say but I just wanna post this, will edit later.

missa who spends so much time reaping and ferrying souls that he too struggles to tell what's 'real'. missa who wakes up in the middle of the night because it's too dark and he doesn't know if this is the real world or the afterlife. missa who has to ask phil if he's alive or not because he can't tell and he can't bear the thought of him being dead. missa who struggles to keep hold on reality and that distresses him. missa who clings to phil because his touch is so insanely grounding, because he can feel his pulse and hear his breaths and he's alive and this is real. missa who is always reaching for phil's hand, missa who is always within arms reach of someone he trusts just in case he needs a reminder, missa falls far too easily back into the afterlife and struggles to pull himself back out. missa who loses himself and phil who helps him find himself again

HA I TRICKED YOU, it's not little, it's a lot!

Alright, this was just supposed to be an attempt at character design of my own after I read bunch of Superhero AUs, but I got carried away and created some lore :')

-WILBUR-

Full Name: Both him and Techno had been adopted by Philza at young age and took up his last name, but wanted to keep something of their own. Hence, both have their nicknames "Soot" and "Blade" (not last names, they don't know what they were).

Alias: I wanted to base all names of the Syndicate on Greek mythology, however I had hard time finding something for Wilbur. I came close to calling him Apollo, but most of the things attributed to this god, aside being the patron of music, just didn't align with what I had in mind for him. Thus, ta da, "very original" Siren. Even tho, it's not really a name name - "lured sailors to their death with a bewitching song" just fits too well.

Powers: Hypnotic voice was an obvious choice, but I wanted all of them to have two main abilities. Thus, after long search I stumbled upon enhanced hearing, and hear me out. Wilbur wears mask over his eyes (he can see through it) but it gives the illusion that one of his senses is gone, and what they say when one sense is taken away? Another one amplifies >:D And I just think that someone whose powers are based on sound would be more sensitive to it. It's not like he has super hearing for miles away, he can just hear well what someone is whispering like few meters away form him :p

OK THAT'S IT. I think that's the most I've ever written on this site. To anyone who've read the whole thing: ily <333 thank for reading my rambling and sorry for any grammatical errors, English is not my first language and I was too lazy to do a spell check.

Full name: Explained before. I'm sorry, but I just can't separate those names from them, there is no Techno without Blade.

Alias: Now I spent a lot of time on this one, bc I just couldn't settle on anything. First I thought about Ares, for being the patron of blood lust and warfare, but just, it didn't work that much for me, I just think there should be more meaning behind the name. Then I searched more, I stumbled on Polemos and some other I can't remember and finally settled on Perses.

PERSES was the Titan god of destruction. He was the father of Hekate, goddess of witchcraft, by the Titanis Asteria ("Starry One"). Perses' name means "the Destroyer" or "the Ravager" from the Greek words persô and perthô. Hesiod inexplicably describes him as "preeminent among all men in wisdom"

And I just think this one's perfect. God of destruction? nice. "The Ravager"? Techno loved mc ravagers and I just can't pass this coincidence. "Preeminent among all men in wisdom"? Man's crazy smart, also as I'll explain more in a moment, Techno knows things he shouldn't really know, and he's almost always ahead of everyone, so, check. Also, my fav goddess aside form Persephone is Hecate so, additional point.

Powers: Enhanced durability is pretty explanatory. Mans could be thrown through a building and only his hair would get messy, maybe a bruise here and there and a lot of complaining, but that's it. You need someone equally powerful to bring him down. NOW, hyper awarness, man oh man, so I NEEDED to include the voices somehow. And I never saw them as something negative in his case. Of course, during combat, they start to demand bloodshed and make him sometimes loose control or result in sensory overload. BUT most of all, thanks to them he knows things - names of people or locations he never seen before, where the punch is coming at him from, answers to weird questions, who stole his food, and why is it always Wilbur, etc etc. So, yeah I thought that writing it down as hyper awarness, might work.

Additional info: His eyes are always red, but his sclera changes color to black when he's out on a mission or fighting, basically when the voices become louder the eyes become more intense in color. As civilian he wears red glasses most of the time to somehow mask the real color.

Full Name: You have no idea how much I wanted to write him down as Philza Mine Craft.

Alias: So, I also struggled to find a name for him. I was battling between Thanatos or simply calling him The Angel of Death. But then I was struck and everything became clear. I love fanfics where Phil was a hero before he saw how bad the system is and decides to become the "bad guy" who's actually kinda good, but does bad things sometimes. So, why not use it. In my version, before he became a villain, he was known as Angel, the Hero Committee wasn't as fully developed, so the heros still could stay anonymous, that's why even now they don't know his real identity. After he left he decided to take up new alias and therefore Thanatos was born. Person with black wings associated with Death, also now has a scythe??? Fits perfectly. And that's how people from calling him Angel started calling him The Angel of Death.

Powers: He has the ability to hide his wings and manifest them whenever he wants. I thought about making them just permanent, but I think it's just cooler when suddenly you see a character spring out a pair of big wings out of their back out of nowhere for the shock effect. (no i wasn't just too lazy to draw them, what are you talking about)

Avian telephaty - I also just couldn't not include the Chat. Wherever you see a cloud of crows you know the Angel of Death is nearby. He can communicate with any bird that is a raven, crow or rook. They're his eyes and ears.

How does fits time on 2b2t impact how he acts and survives now? Interacts with others? How does it show in how he interacts with Phil or pac, in ways that probably aren't normal but make sense for him.

How does pissa interact that's special and different than everyone else? What makes you hold them so dearly? I want to hear.

How do you see all the shit that's happened affect Phil? How he's changed, how he acts now, how he thinks? Where's your ten page analysis you've scattered across discord dms, forums, and scattered in your brain. Let me hear it. Let me hear everything you die to tell people but nobody asks for

Cause literally they're taking over my brain and you see them in such a similar but different and intricate light so I want to see how you pick them and their brains apart. And please, don't think you have to stick to just these questions, go off about WHATEVER.

fit is always watching his back. he’s always watching pac’s back. always looking out for ramón. there is not a moment in his life that he isn’t paranoid about losing what he has—he always has to be on his guard. between his past with 2b2t and the pressure of the limited time he has left, he knows that absolutely nothing in his life is promised. at any minute, he could lose what’s precious to him, and he refuses.

it’s so easy for him to lose himself in how he used to be. sometimes he does just let loose—like when he’s protecting his family or taking revenge. he’s not a good man, and he’s never seen himself as one. if pac sees him as one, he’ll do his best not to shatter that image—but it seems like pac doesn’t give a shit whether or not he’s dangerous, so dangerous it is.

i think he worries a lot about accidentally hurting the people he cares about, and particularly about losing their trust. sure, he cares about self preservation. but the world is suddenly a lot scarier when he actually has something to lose. so much of it is disguised in humor but you can hear the way he cares, the way he takes things seriously when everyone else is joking.

as for pissa… god there’s a lot i could say about them. a lot of it for me is the aching loneliness of having someone, but not knowing where you stand with them. the contrast of missa loving so openly and phil being terrified to reciprocate. i think whether he knows it or not, missa being away so much is what keeps phil from taking that step. he’s been alone so long that it is utterly terrifying to be perceived—and even worse is the thought of losing that company once he finally gets used to having someone else at his side.

phil’s brain is way too much to pick at when i’ve already written this much. but trust me i have so many thoughts about the way this man’s brain works, particularly in regard to loneliness

expanding on the pissa sun and moon motif because qsmp updates and my server enabled me

who’s the sun and who’s the moon depends on who you ask.

missa would say that phil’s the sun. he burns so bright that sometimes he’s hard to look at—hard to be near. he’s brave and compassionate and stubborn to a fault, and sometimes missa worries phil will burn himself up in his desperation to make everything right again. he sees the way phil accidentally hurts others around him in his passion, but he can’t help but want to be near him anyway.

he sees himself as the moon, reflecting phil’s light, a shadow cast across him by phil’s brilliance, which he can’t help but feel he’ll never compare to.

phil thinks missa’s the sun. he’s a bright light in the darkness, the warmth of a gentle spring day when the flowers are just beginning to bud. he’s the sun at its gentlest—calming and enough to melt the frost from the grass. he’s bright in his laughter and warm in his embrace, and phil often wonders if he realizes just how brightly he burns.

phil sees himself as the moon—something cold and weathered, damaged at first glance, craters across his skin from taking hit after hit for others. he wants to reach for missa’s light, but it burns so hot when he’s close, and leaves him so cold when he’s away.

Big fan of sun motifs in characters not necessarily being about positivity and happiness and how they're so " bright and warm" but instead being about fucking brutal they are.

Radiant. A FORCE of nature that will turn you to ash. That warmth that burns so hot it feels like ice. Piercing yellow and red and white. A character being a Sun because you cannot challenge a Sun without burning alive or taking everything down with them if victorious.
