Im in hell rignt now

I know this out of character and not ‘The Raven’ But This is the author speaking—the true author. And shit just hit the fan in my house.

So Im a young trans-guy, and my one supporting family member of me (My sister) just recently had a baby.

This morning I just learned that she could die.

she is running a fever of 102 and could get septic into her bloodstream and die.

I have been crying for hours rn and Im with my shitting step-father and half-sister rn.

My sister is the only one in the family who accepts me as a male and is literally my rock.

I don’t know what I would do without her. She is so sick rn and my mom is doing everything she can to take care of her. The doctors aren’t doing jackshit.

Please. God. If you believe and or have a religion, please pray for her.

I don’t care whether you are muslim, jewish, buddhist, Christian, catholic, wiccan, have one or multiple gods/goddesses or pray to the mcfucking spaghetti monster.

OMG, I just realized that I forgot to say "Plus, I'm about 99.9% certain that it counts as kidnapping to take any random, sad-faced orphan off the street and into your house," and I feel so stupid. :p

But aside from that, I appreciate your response to my complaint. It's not necessarily that having an unhappy childhood makes for a bad character (although having a character that lost their parents, then were put into an orphanage and abused by the nuns and the orphans in the BroCon universe is too farfetched to be believable!), but it's usually an automatic indicator of a Mary Sue. And most of the time, the authors never explain anything about their OCs, and I'm left to assume and explain everything because the authors are too lazy to come up with an actual explanation.

You know what's an annoying trope in Brothers Conflict OCs? OCs having abusive/dead parents just so they can be adopted by Miwa Asahina. I mean, we don't really see Miwa a lot, but I doubt that she's that generous to adopt any random kid with a generic sob story off the street. Plus, I'm 99.9% that counts as kidnapping to take a kid off the streets and into your house.

Usually most OCs, the way it’s expressed is never realistic and a bit of an overused trope when it comes to OCs.

I feel like the better plan of action would have to be having the OC go to the same school as one of the brothers (maybe even befriend one that’s not the love interest?) and befriend the other family members over time

It’s very overused for there to be abusive/dead parents in OC backstories. Not saying that it’s bad persay, but people have to be careful about how they go about it if that makes sense.

If the parents are abusive/dead, why isn’t the OC living with other relatives (which is most common in those cases)

At least explain why or how something happened rather than “it happened because I say so”

I’m not 100% sure about the kidnapping part, but if there’s a kid on the street the best, and probably most sensible course of action is taking them to the police station as a missing child.

Said child, if their parents aren’t around, would have to either be given to guardians (aka relatives) or put into the foster care system.

Most annoying troupes stem from people being like “This happened because I said so” without there being any explanation.

It’s not unusual for PETA to give terrible advice on how to fight animal cruelty. Here they sugest that ink is better than wearing fur. Remember, a human’s life is not as important as an animal’s life according to PETA logic.
