I Overheard You giving up on your dream
I was special, but not anymore. I had a passion but now life demands something else from me. I have to get real anyway, so that was a nice idea, going to Carnegie, taking the adventure of a lifetime, following my dream.
How could that be me, how could it not be? What voice do I hear and listen to, I want to sing, to write, to stand at the window and share light with those in the dark.
I hear the sadness in your voice, the surrender to a lesser you, with a shrug of the shoulders, and a dip of the chin. The inner voice saying no, please don’t say that , while the outer voice, yields to the inevitability of the dream stolen.
I just happened to be sitting here, and hearing you say that. Without even looking at you, never having met, I know that your heart was crying out as you gave up one more piece of your dream.
I wish I could stand up amidst all these strangers, and plead with you, to look you in the eyes and speak from experience and plead with you to say no to anything that says no to your voice. To your words, to your truth, that is yearning, and will always be yearning to come out of you.
No matter how many times you do what you just did, no matter how many times you say no to your dream, your heart, deeply will always feel it, know it and believe it. The farther you lose touch with it, the harder it is to recover it, but it will never leave you even if you leave it.
Am I not brave enough to reach across this small space, and ask you to please reconsider, your small gesture of doubt and unbelief spoke loudly to this stranger hearing it, seeing it, feeling it.
I can see your voice, shining, singing, shouting from the top of the mountain of your courageous climb that would be ahead of you, where you to say yes, little by little, to your creative power. One day, with a few lines on your face and a few scars on your heart, you will be glad for the day that I tapped you on the shoulder and said, “Please don’t give up on your dreams.”

InSpire Moments 4 - Take Time to Reflect
This is a time of year that we often think about aspirations and goals to help us grow in the near year! A great idea and something to be encouraged! But don’t forget to reflect, on where you’ve been, what you’ve learned, what you’ve come through to get here! Growth is looking forward for sure, but it’s also looking back and recognizing how far you’ve come to get here! #reflection #inspire #growth

Fully Alive
a body of wonders,
I find before me.
did I choose,
or was I chosen to be here?
I only know I feel magic,
every nerve ending engaged.
a draw to be immersed,
overcome with the beauty I see.
So much it almost hurts,
and yet a pain I want more of.
Pull me into the depths of you,
each tantalizing scene.
I am fully alive here,
you did this to me by being you.
How can I repay you,
I only know I must stay near.
my soul needs this place,
please keep the door open.
I will come often,
and will honor your loveliness.
