Buck was waiting for the day that Eddie came clean about being a werewolf. The entire 118 pack had scented it on him during his first day but he hadn’t brought it up or taken Bobby up on his offer to join them for their full moon night in the mountains. As it turns out, Christopher was going to force his father’s hand because in the middle of Buck’s living room was a half-transformed and terrified child.
Or: The one where Buck takes care of the Diaz boys, especially when Christopher turns out to be a werewolf too.
Buck is feeling a little hot under the collar and it's everyone's problem.
@closetspngirl
Buck had officially moved into the Diaz within 48 hours of mating with Eddie and now the fire under his skin was burning hotter than ever. He had been convinced that it was just the mating bond taking effect but now he wasn’t so sure. His wolf was urging him to find all of the blankets and pillows in the house and start building a nest, layering it with pieces of Christopher and Eddie’s clothes to keep their scents nearby.
Unluckily for him, he realized what all of this meant when he was on shift.
“Cap, I think we have a problem,” Buck pulled Bobby aside, pulling at the collar of his uniform, feeling feverish. Bobby took one look at him, probably taking in his flushed and sweaty skin, and sighed.
“You’re really just trying to hit a world record for number of big life events in a single week, aren’t you, Buck?”
“Not trying, just unlucky,” Buck chuckled, wiping away some sweat on his forehead. “But, um, Cap-” Bobby waved off the rest of his sentence,
“Take Eddie and go, I’ll make something up for the emergency leave request and Hen can pick up Christopher.” Buck hugged Bobby, the older man patting his shoulder before pushing him towards the locker room where Eddie was. “Do not do anything you wouldn’t want your sister to hear about in my firehouse,” Bobby warned. Buck flushed, wiping away more sweat as he hurried towards the locker room.
Eddie was digging through his locker for something but looked up when Buck walked in, head cocking to the side. Buck had really hoped that he would have more time to explain things to Eddie but as it turned out, he was getting an extended crash course in lycanthrophy whether either of them wanted him to or not.
“You’re sweating a lot,” Eddie stated point-blank, eyeing Buck. Buck could see the cogs in Eddie’s head turning, trying to figure out what was happening despite not having all of the information.
“I am, it’s, um, a-” He did not have the words to explain this right now when all he wanted to do was push Eddie down on the floor and fuck him silly. “We have to go home,” Buck tugged at the collar of his uniform, which was damp with sweat. “Like, right now.”
“What’s wrong?” Eddie turned serious, closing the distance between them, and god that just made everything better in the worst way possible. Eddie pressed the back of his hand against Buck’s forehead, frowning in concern. Buck’s self control was hanging on by a thread. Why, why, why did he have to get his heat at work? In Bobby’s firehouse?
“I’ll explain in the car but we have to go. Now.” Buck shoved Eddie by the shoulders, grabbing his duffle and Eddie’s from their shared locker. “Now, now, now, move your cute butt.” He started herding Eddie towards the locker room door.
“Hey! Buck, what is going on?” Eddie tried to plant his feet to get Buck to stop but the larger man kept pushing him along.
“Have fun, kids!” Hen called down from the loft, laughing. “Remember to hydrate, Buck. Eddie, make sure he hydrates,” She added a little more seriously.
“I will?” Eddie confirmed, confusion evident in his voice as Buck essentially bulldozed him out of the firehouse. Buck’s skin was on fire, the burning getting worse as Eddie’s spiced citrus scent filled his lungs. “Buck-”
“You’re driving, I’m sitting in the back seat,” Buck shoved the truck keys in Eddie’s hand, scrambling to open the back door but he had forgotten to unlock it before handing the keys over.
“No,” Eddie said firmly, pressing Buck against the side of the truck. “You’re going to tell me what’s going on.” Stern voice? Dominating presence? Hot as hell? Check, check, check. Buck’s heat-addled brain couldn’t take it. He whined, exposing his neck, his mating mark.
“Fuck, Eddie, I’m about two seconds away from asking you to mount me in the damn parking lot. Drive first, ask questions later. Please, we will not live this down.”
X
Eddie’s brain rebooted. Morally, he was against screwing his boyfriend/wolf husband in the parking lot where any member of the public or their crew could see them…But with the scent Buck was giving off, he was caring less and less about that. Then something Chimney had said before the moon hit him.
“Heat. You’re in heat,” The unholy whined Buck let out was answer enough. He didn’t exactly know what a heat entailed but he was starting to understand the urgency. Eddie unlocked the truck, starting to feel a bit hot under the collar as well, getting into the driver’s seat. “Okay, yeah, home. Home?”
“Home,” Buck whined from the backseat and the sound went straight to Eddie’s dick. “If you, oh-” Buck groaned like he was in pain and that had Eddie turning around in his seat to look at him. Buck had his seatbelt on but he was laying across the back bench, holding his stomach the way Shannon used to when she got period cramps.
“Buck, what do you need? I don’t know how this works.”
“Drive the damn car, Eddie,” Buck started pulling at the buttons of his uniform, pupping them off instead of properly undoing them. “Now, Eds.”
Eddie finally started to listen, pulling out of the firehouse and driving through the LA traffic as quickly as he could. Buck’s scent was sickly sweet, filling the truck, and the noises he was making? Fuck, those noises were going to kill Eddie.
“So, I assume this has to do with sex but is there something else I need to know?”
“Lots of sex, I’m going to need to build a nest, fuck, I usually plan this out better.” Buck panted like he had just run a mile, for such an athletic guy, cardio was really not his thing. “I didn’t think that mating would bring it on early, shit, Eds, are you going into rut?” Eddie’s silence earned a groan from the sweaty werewolf in the backseat. “You don’t know what rut is, do you?”
“Yeah, that would be a no. Am I supposed to?”
“Do you want the short explanation or the long explanation of what’s going on here?” Buck, who normally sounded like a kid on Christmas when he got to explain things in great detail, instead sounded like he would rather take a fire axe to the foot.
“Short, we’re almost home, sweetheart,” Eddie tried to keep his voice soothing.
“I wanna be bred - yes, even though I can’t get pregnant - and you wanna breed me. Heat and rut go together. If you go into a rut, you’ll be able to knot me.” Oh. Oh. Eddie was going to hell for the absolutely sinful rush that went through him at the mention of getting to breed Buck. There was a little part of his brain that wanted to schedule a therapist appointment based purely on having a new kink being unlocked like this. “Oh God, I can smell how turned on you just got. It’s like you’re trying to kill me.”
“I can’t help it!” Eddie cried out in defense, voice going up in pitch. “I, you, I just-” He fumbled for words and then groaned. Luckily for both of them, they pulled into Eddie’s driveway minutes later.
When they pulled in the driveway, Buck ran inside and Eddie felt something snap inside of his chest. It was almost identical to the rush he had felt when Buck had run away from him on moon night, except in human form, Eddie was faster.
Eddie caught Buck in the hallway, bullying him to the ground right there in front of the bedroom door. The growl that came out of him surprised even him.
“Yes, please, Eds, need you so bad,” Buck whined, only encouraging Eddie as he tore Buck’s uniform pants and boxers down. The sight that greeted him was heaven-sent. Buck’s slick was dripping down his thighs and Eddie couldn’t help himself, spreading Buck’s cheeks and licking a broad stripe up his ass, moaning at the delicious taste that was orange and spice, just like their mixed scents.
“I’m going to give you a pup,” Eddie’s wolf was doing the talking now as he pushed down his own pants. “Going to fill you up over and over again until you give me a pup.”
Mate. Pup. Mate.
“Yesss,” Buck whimpered as Eddie pushed into him. Buck was wet and warm, and fuck, Eddie snapped his hips forward, sinking down to the hilt with one, hard thrust. “Want to have your pups, Eddie.”
The confidence from the amount of gay porn he had been watching on silent in the bathroom over the last two days and from his horny wolf were enough to buoy Eddie through any doubts or worries he might have had about mounting his wolf husband in the middle of the hallway.
Eddie dug his fingers into Buck’s hips, holding him in place as he moved, driven hard and fast by the wolf inside of him needing the release, needing to satisfy his mate, to give them both what they wanted.
“I love you, I love you so much, like, so, so much,” Buck moaned out beneath him. The words wrapped around Eddie like he had stepped outside on a warm summer’s day and Buck was the sun shining down on him, it just made Eddie love him more.
“I love you too,” Eddie grunted out, feeling the tight coil in his stomach cinching. He reached down with one hand and groaned, feeling Buck’s hard cock and the way that his omega was leaking everywhere. “You love this so much. You want me to put a pup into you so bad,” Eddie stroked Buck, wanting him to cum before Eddie did. “Do you want a pup, sweetheart? Do you want me to get you pregnant?”
“Fuuuuck,” Buck moaned. “Yes, yes, yes, want that. Want that so bad, want you to get me pregnant.”
“Cum for me, sweetheart,” Eddie commanded, voice deep and growly. “Cum on my cock like a good little omega, my omega, my pretty, little omega.”
Eddie’s knot started to grow, catching on the rim of Buck’s hole with each stroke until he couldn’t pull out any more. When he caught that last time, Buck came, spilling all over Eddie’s hand and the floor with a loud moan that the neighbors could probably hear.
The feeling of Buck clenching around him was too much, sending Eddie right over the edge alongside him. The sensation of cumming with a knot was different, for one, Eddie felt like there was a lot more than usual coming out, which was interesting to say the least.
“I love you,” Eddie said again, softer this time, guiding them to their sides on the hardwood floor, pressing kisses along Buck’s neck. “How are you feeling, sweetheart?” He ran a hand over Buck’s side.
“Better,” Buck murmured softly. “The heat comes in waves, so I’ll be good for a little bit before I get all needy again.”
“Long enough to explain what a nest is?” Eddie whispered, starting to suck a hickey onto the side of Buck’s neck. “Because I know birds have nests but I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a wolf with a nest.” Buck laughed, the sound filling Eddie’s heart with love and warmth.
“It involves a lot of blankets and your dirty laundry.”
“My what?”

We all really do 🙌 I am the *worst* person to wake up in the mornings but Bradley would make mornings more bearable
Tumblr media
Cold Mornings | Comfort Drabble wc: 396
Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw x reader
Your bedroom is a little cold in the morning and you don't want to get out of bed buuuuuut Bradley insists...
Warnings: None! It's just pure fluff
@closetspngirl read it and go back to work lol
“It’s time to get out of bed, sweetheart,” Bradley kissed your shoulder. Stretching, your foot slipped from beneath the comforter, hitting the cool air of your bedroom. You gave a little shriek, pulling your foot back so fast the bed shook a little.
“Absolutely not,” You turned, wrapping your arms around Bradley’s waist, reveling in his warmth. Your boyfriend chuckled, kissing your temple.
“I think someone’s a little chilly,” Bradley teased, reaching around you to start pulling down the comforter.
“Watch it, Bradshaw, or I start wearing long sleeves and sleep pants to bed.” He paused. Ever since Bradley had started staying the night, you had found yourself wearing less and less clothing to bed thanks to his need to run his calloused hands over your bare skin whenever he could. Not that you were complaining about having a hot pilot want you naked constantly but still.
“No need for that,” Bradley chuckled nervously, kissing your temple again. “I’ll be good, I promise.” He curled around you, running his hands over your body, keeping you warm. Bradley kissed your neck, presenting a very convincing argument for not wearing more clothes to bed, even if it did leave you freezing in the morning. “We do have to get up though.”
“Nooooo,” You whined, pulling the comforter over your head.
“I’ve got you, sweetheart.” Bradley slipped out of bed, returning with clothes of his in each hand.
“What are you- Bradley!” You laughed as he dove under the comforter from the bottom of the bed, slipping a pair of sweats up your legs, planting a kiss on your stomach. He crawled up your body, kissing everywhere before his head popped out from the sheets. Your boyfriend looked so silly, grinning down at you, his hair messy.
“Arms up, sweetheart. It’s time for the shirt.” Once you were dressed, Bradley distracted you with a kiss, slowly pulling away the blankets without you noticing until he pulled away. “I love you and I would love nothing more than to spend all day in bed with you but we have to get up.”
“Fine,” You went to move but he held you in place, an expectant look on his face. “I love you too, baby.”
“That’s more like it.” Bradley gave you one more sweet kiss before getting out of bed, holding out his hand to pull you up as well.

You're working a late night event and are just over it. What do They (you know...The List) do? Come to your building and rescue?
😭🙏🏻
#sendhelp
Hi bestie 🤣 I mean...anon...
I'm doing an abbreviated list because I'm sleepy
Phoenix/Buck: They would show up at the event to keep you company and drive you home afterwards
Bob: Bob is too good of a boy to do anything underhanded or to sneak into a work event. He would text you loving affirmations and have dinner waiting for you when you got home late
Roo/Hangman/Eddie: They would 100% call with a fake emergency so that your boss would let you leave early
Colter: Would 100% pull the fire alarm to get you out of there
Russell: Ever been kidnapped? You're getting kidnapped. Power's going to go out at the event and then you'll be gone. Reenie will have a field day trying to make that police report filed by your boss go away....

How does any one of the Daggers, Colter, Eddie or Buck help you deal with working from home and freaking slow computers that all you want to do is throw them out the window and scream?
👀
I have a feeling I know who this is 🤣💖
💖 Phoenix: She would sit next to you and run her hands through your hair while both soothing your nerves and telling you all of the different ways you could "make the computer suffer too"
🩵 Bob: He'd assume you were hangry and tired since you work too hard, bringing you snacks and a drink, then sitting by your side and listening to you rant if you wanted him to
🧡 Roo: He is not a man known for making great decisions and would try to convince either to 1) take a break and dance with him/make out/go for a drive or 2) go out and buy you a fancy new laptop
💙 Hangman: He would give you the best shoulder massage ever and listen to you rant, occasionally kissing your hair/neck
💘 Colter: He would 100% suggest ditching your job and going freelance with him, that way you wouldn't have to worry about slow computers AND he would bribe you with kisses and spending more time with him
❤️‍🔥 Eddie: He is a straight up technology hater and would complain with you. Then he'd order your favorite food to make you feel better (he can't cook 😅) and call Buck to see if he can fix the computer
💝 Buck: He would try to fix whatever is wrong with the computer and if all else fails, he disappears for an hour and comes back with a new computer for you. Expect a home cooked meal and snuggles after work

The 118 family gets around to paying out their Buddie betting pool and Eddie makes a deal with Buck.
a/n: Sorry I disappeared for a week BUT here is almost 2900 words to help you forgive me <3
Eddie kept Buck close, an arm around the taller man’s waist, occasionally stopping their walk back to the cabin for kisses. All of the earlier panic had been silenced the moment Buck said I love you back, a confirmation that settled deep in his chest. Buck had been eager to please as usual and Eddie had no complaints about getting a blowjob in the woods but he was looking forward to getting Buck home so he could repay the favor. Had Eddie ever had gay sex before? Absolutely not. But he was sure he could figure it out.
Christopher was going to be excited about the news of his dad and Buck dating, the kid already saw Buck as a second dad, and this was just further confirmation that all of these years playing house, wishing that Buck didn’t have to go to his loft at the end of the night, were a dress rehearsal for the real thing.
“Oh my God,” Buck laughed, “Those assholes bet on us.” As they came into the clearing, the adults of the pack were standing on the back porch, obviously exchanging money.
“Are you really surprised?” Eddie sassed even though he felt embarrassment creep up his neck. Buck kissed his shoulder, settling the nerves before they could take hold.
“I’m more surprised Chimney didn’t spill the beans before now.”
“And here comes the happy couple now,” Hen announced with a flourish of her hands. “I’m not going to ask why you’re covered in mud.”
“Why, you don’t want to take bets on it?” Eddie rolled his eyes. Not a single one of them seemed embarrassed in the least. “So, who won?” Hen clapped her hands together in excitement as she began to explain.
“Our big winner was Bobby, picking the right time frame for you getting together.”
“Pops!” Buck gasped, “Seriously?”
“I make no apologies but I will make mac and cheese for you during the next shift.” Buck folded faster than a house of cards,
“Deal, you’re forgiven.” Yep. That was his boyfriend/husband, easily bought with a home cooked dinner. Especially if the person cooking was Bobby.
“Karen bet that it would be Buck who convinced Eddie to join us for the full moon, Chimney bet that there would be a claiming before a love confession, sorry, Maddie.” Maddie huffed, flipping off her husband who grinned in return.
“That’s why you were pressing me to confess when we got here?” Buck sounded a bit betrayed, a small pang of sadness echoing through their bond. Eddie tried to purposefully send emotions over the bond, pushing love and affection Buck’s way only to receive it in return seconds later.
“To be fair, I called your crush on Eddie the same week that you met and have been trying to get you to come clean ever since.”
“That long, huh?” Eddie teased softly, kissing Buck’s cheek and then again when his cheeks turned pink beneath Eddie’s lips.
“Shut up.”
-
The drive down the mountain was similar to how the drive up had been days before. Except Christopher’s questions centered around when Buck was going to move in with them and if he was going to be taking over all of the cooking duties from now on, and just like before, Eddie was listening intently to the answers as well. Then the Diaz boys fell asleep, Eddie’s hand on his thigh once again, and this time Buck could enjoy the feeling instead of freaking out about it.
“Stay the night?” Eddie asked when they got to his house, waiting until Christopher was inside to press Buck against the Jeep and kiss him softly. “We can talk more about you moving in once Chris goes to bed.” Moving in with the Diaz boys would be a dream come true. He had been treating their house as his nest anyways, cooking, cleaning, taking care of Eddie and Chris, and how it could really be his. It was a little overwhelming if he was being honest.
“We have a shift in the morning,” Buck reminded him, sliding his hands into Eddie’s back pockets and giving his ass a squeeze just because he could.
“So?” Eddie asked, kissing Buck’s neck. Buck relaxed against the Jeep, eyes fluttering shut, sparks of desire shooting through him. “We can save gas, commute together.” Yeah. Uh huh. Saving the environment. His brain was struggling to stay online as Eddie teased Buck’s neck with his teeth, “And if you can be quiet, maybe I can finally get my mouth on your cock.”
“Fuck.” Eddie chuckled, nipping at Buck’s pulse. “Eddie, while I really, really, really want to do that,” Buck’s voice was an unconvincing, breathy whine. “We should probably be responsible and-” Buck pushed Eddie back by the shoulders but held on to keep him close. “Sorry, really hard to think when you’re pressed up against me like that.”
“As much as I love that big brain of yours, baby, can we please just be stupid and in love for a little bit?” When Eddie pouted like that, who was Buck to tell him no?
“Fine but I want Thai for dinner and you’re buying,” Eddie leaned in, closing his lips over Buck’s. Buck sighed into the kiss, cupping Eddie’s stubbled jaw, brushing his thumb over where he knew was a small scar from Eddie’s fighting days. If someone didn’t know it was there, they would never spot it, but Buck knew it was there because it was a reminder of the time when he had abandoned his family.
“Being sad while I’m kissing you is not reassuring, Buck,” Eddie broke away, his tone teasing but there was uncertainty in his eyes that tugged at Buck’s heart strings.
“I was thinking about the lawsuit,” Eddie’s frown deepened. “Yeah, I know, not exactly horny time material.”
“I forgave you for that a long time ago,” Eddie pressed a quick kiss to Buck’s lips, once, twice, three times. “Now come on, Chris is going to need someone to help him with his science homework and you know it’s not going to be me.”
-
Luckily for Eddie, Christopher actually volunteered to go to bed early. Christopher had spent all of dinner telling stories about what they had missed on their “run through the woods” and reopening the line of questioning of when Buck was going to move in. What caught Eddie by surprise was when Chris asked if Buck could hang back a second after he got into bed.
A few minutes later, Buck came out with tears in his eyes, with what Eddie was coming to recognize as his “calming” scent heavy in the air. Buck didn’t say a word, dropping down on the couch beside Eddie and burying his face into Eddie’s neck.
They had always been close, trading casual touches, but this level of physical affection was a lot different than that. Hell, even with Shannon he hadn’t been overly touchy. But now that he had a free pass to have his hands on Buck? Eddie was surprised how easy and addicting it was to give and receive affection.
“He made me pinky swear that no matter what happens between me and you, that I’d always be his Buck. I mean,” Buck sniffled. “This morning I was worried you’d never let me see him again.” Fuck that hurt. Buck really thought he’d take Christopher away from him? Of course he did. Buck had a self-deprecating streak a mile wide and abandonment issues that worked in tandem to fill Buck’s head with depressing thoughts.
“I’d never do that to you, no matter what happened,” Eddie reassured Buck, kissing his blonde curls. Tomorrow Buck would probably gel them down and Eddie would miss them, counting down the minutes until they got off shift and he could run his fingers through Buck’s hair to loosen the product enough to bring them back to life. “No take backsies, remember?” Eddie’s tease was rewarded with a soft chuckle from Buck and his wolf purred, feeling the contentment roll off of mate. “Come on, sweetheart. Let’s go to bed.”
“Like sleep bed or bed bed?” Buck asked, lips grazing over Eddie’s pulse point, sending a shiver of desire through the alpha. “Because I seem to remember being promised something if I stayed.” Buck’s sweet scent perfumed the air and Eddie knew Buck was thinking about Eddie’s mouth on his cock.
Eddie chuckled, low and rough. He grabbed Buck’s hips tightly, holding him in place as he grinded up against the omega, relishing in the soft groan Buck breathed against Eddie’s neck.
“You’re right, baby,” Eddie placed an open mouthed kiss on Buck’s neck, feeling Buck’s rapid heartbeat. It drove Eddie crazy knowing that not only could he get this reaction out of Buck but he could also enjoy it. “You’ve been so good to me and to Chris over the last few days,” Eddie’s grinds didn’t stop and neither did his slow and methodical attack on Buck’s neck. Buck’s scent got stronger with his arousal and Eddie imagined that his own was doing the same from the way Buck was breathing him in. “And I think you deserve some thanks for being so good.”
Buck shivered, letting out a soft whine. Buck tried to move his hips, trying to speed up the pace of the grinds but Eddie held him steady, taking control of the situation.
“Why don’t you go to the bedroom and I’ll be in in a second to show you how much I appreciate you.”
Buck didn’t have to be told twice. He nipped at Eddie’s shoulder where he knew the mating bite laid beneath Eddie’s shirt, drawing out a groan from his alpha, before practically running to the bedroom. Buck pulled off his shirt and pants and crawled into bed, positioning himself upright against the pillows.
This was far from his first time in Eddie’s bedroom but now that he had a claim - well, an official claim - to the Diaz boys, the comforting feeling of Eddie’s scent all around him was even more comforting. Technically, he wasn’t due his next heat for a month but he felt the familiar need to make a nest with the soft blankets and pillows on the bed kicking up in his chest but he pushed it down. It must have just been a side effect of being recently mated.
Buck was squirming to stay still and be patient, waiting for Eddie to come into the bedroom. Patience had never been his strong suit but Eddie had called him good, not once, but twice, and he was determined to continue being good. When Eddie finally did come into the bedroom, he looked absolutely delicious, leaning up against the door frame with his arms crossed. Buck swallowed hard, squirming even more under Eddie’s intense gaze.
“You look so good in my bed,” Eddie’s voice was low and rough and doing things to Buck, who was hanging onto the last thread of his sanity with both hands. “I…I think you should be in it every night.”
Buck’s brain went a little fuzzy at Eddie’s words, trying to wrap his head around them. Buck had always been the impulsive one. Moving into Abby’s place, asking people to move in with him when he wasn’t even sure if he loved them, and Eddie was the guy who had a panic attack at the idea of being in a ready-made family with Ana.
So for Eddie to be the one asking Buck to move in after all of the rapidly life changes in the past few days, it was a lot for Buck to wrap his head around. But really, in what universe would Buck ever say no to Eddie?
“Okay, yeah,” Buck nodded, digging his fingers into the blankets in anticipation. “Is it like a, I should break my lease tomorrow kind of “you should be in my bed every night” or more of a “I want you to come over but afterwards you should still go home” kind of thing?” Buck stammered, his nerves getting the best of him. “Because I’m okay with whatever you want… I mean, do you-”
“Buck,” Eddie’s amused voice caught his attention, stopping his rambling. Eddie closed the distance between them, crawling onto the bed so that he was above Buck. His big, brown eyes were soft and full of adoration, making Buck’s heart flutter. “I, we, me and Christopher want you to stay. Will you stay?”
“Always,” Buck didn’t even have to think about it. And he didn’t have the brain power to think about anything else as Eddie began to press open mouth kisses on Buck’s throat and down his chest. “E-Eddie.”
“Shh, you don’t want to wake up our son now do you?” Buck had to slam a hand over his mouth to keep quiet. He finally had everything he wanted and now all he had to do was be quiet and enjoy it.
Buck knew that Eddie had never done anything with a man but the enthusiasm rolling off of the other man in waves was dizzying. Eddie didn’t hesitate before removing Buck’s sweats and boxers in one go, continuing his assault of messy kisses and love bites over Buck’s thighs.
“Jesus Christ,” Buck moaned, grabbing a pillow to shove on top of his face to keep himself muffled.
“You look so good covered in all of my marks,” Eddie whispered, almost reverently, tracing what Buck knew was a bite mark left over from when Eddie had pretty much used him as a chew toy during the full moon. “You look so pretty for me.” Pretty. That was a new one but it made Buck shiver all the same. He could hear the smugness in Eddie’s voice as he continued teasing, pressing kisses everywhere but where Buck needed him most. “You like that, huh? You like being my pretty, little…omega.”
“Fuck,” Buck grunted, his hips giving a little thrust at the words. Eddie chuckled, sounding proud of himself for figuring out what to say to get Buck all worked up. Buck put the pillow down, glaring playfully at Eddie who was looking smug. “You’re an assh-” His words turned into a groan that he needed to stifle as Eddie licked a firm stripe up the underside of Buck’s angry, weeping cock.
“I’m sorry, baby, what were you saying?” Oh God, that bastard. Buck flipped him off with the hand that wasn’t covering his mouth and Eddie just grinned wider. Buck watched as Eddie began to teasingly lick and kiss his cock, trying his best to keep his noises quiet. “My perfect omega, all needy and desperate for me.”
Buck’s soul nearly left his body as Eddie began taking inch-by-inch of Buck into his warm, wet mouth. Fuck. Buck was going to die right there with Eddie’s mouth on his cock and even his ghost was going to be embarrassed by the inscription on his headstone. Here lies Evan Buckley, killed by a blowjob from his best friend.
When Eddie got about half of Buck down his throat, Buck felt him gag, his throat constricting around Buck’s cock and he groaned at the feeling. Eddie came back up, pressing a kiss to the slick tip.
“Feeling good, baby?” Eddie asked, a tinge of uncertainty in his voice as he stroked Buck.
“So fucking good, Eds. Why are you so good at this?” Eddie’s cheeks went pink and Buck knew it had to do with more than just the compliment. “Eddie…”
“When I told you to come back here and wait for me, I might have googled how to give a blowjob.” Buck’s heart swelled at the idea of Eddie wanting to do a good job so much that he looked it up and it just made him love Eddie more.
“Eds, that’s-” Adorable. He was going to say adorable. At least he was before Eddie took Buck back into his mouth and sucked, hollowing his cheeks, effectively turning off higher brain function in Buck. He went boneless, biting down on his lip to keep his noises to a minimum as Eddie worked him over, seemingly desperate to show Buck what he had learned from the internet.
It was over far too quickly for Buck’s liking, not embarrassingly so, but still. When he gasped and babbled, trying to tell Eddie to pull off, that he was going to cum, Eddie just doubled down until Buck released into his mouth.
“Holy shit,” Buck panted, reaching for Eddie, who crawled up the bed and gave Buck a soft kiss. “I think you killed me.”
Eddie laughed with his whole chest, smiling and guiding Buck to lay down with him.
“I’ll take that as a good review then.”
“Oh yeah, 10/10, 5 stars, A+,” Buck rambled until Eddie shut him up with another soft kiss. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” Eddie reached back to turn off the bedside lamp before snuggling close, holding Buck tight. Buck felt nothing but love, affection, and satisfaction through their mating bond and he let those feelings wash over him like warm, ocean waves, lulling him to sleep.

Eddie gets some sense knocked into him by Maddie.
a/n: I couldn't leave y'all in suspense now could I?
Eddie was gone when Buck woke up. At first, Buck chalked it up to Eddie being desperate for a cup of coffee or had to take a piss, then he felt the panic. Panic, regret, bone-crushing despair that wasn’t his own punched Buck in the gut. The mating bond was more than just a mark or a declaration of love, it was a literal binding of two souls together. Buck wouldn’t know every time Eddie got a papercut but strong emotions and feelings, those would come through the bond like an SOS every time.
Eddie regretted it. Eddie regretted bonding with Buck. Bile clawed its way up Buck’s throat at the thought of losing his best friend, his mate, Christopher, all because their wolves wanted each other but Eddie’s human half didn’t want him.
“Buck!” Christopher was awake, sitting on the ground, waving with a goofy smile on his face. Losing Christopher would be the hardest part because Buck knew Chris would be angry with him and with his dad and he might not get the chance to explain things.
“Hey, Superman,” Buck forced a smile, pulling himself together so that Christopher wouldn’t be able to tell something was wrong. He grabbed Christopher’s canes from the porch and walked them over, helping Christopher to his feet. “Did you have fun last night?” He hugged Chris tight, kissing his blond curls while he still could.
“It was awesome! I’m so fast like that, we’ll have to race next time,” Yeah. Next time. Buck’s heart hurt. Even if Eddie didn’t want to join them in the mountains anymore, hopefully he’d let Christopher come with them.
“Of course, bud, that sounds like a good idea,” He kissed his curls again. “Why don’t you go inside and get cleaned up, okay? Bobby and Michael always make a big breakfast after the full moon.”
“Great because I’m starving,” Chris emphasized his hunger by grabbing his stomach with a giggle.
“I bet if you ask nicely they’ll even make you chocolate chip pancakes,” Chocolate was Christopher’s kryptonite in any form, just like Eddie. “Now go wash up, you’ve got mud on your face,” Buck chuckled, swiping his thumb over Christopher’s pink cheek. He watched Christopher go, feeling like part of his heart was being ripped out.
“Evan and Eddie, sittin’ in a tree- oh that does not look like a happy face,” Maddie’s teasing tone turned serious. Buck dug his nails into his palms to hold back the tears that were threatening to form in his eyes. “Where’s Eddie?”
“He regrets it, Maddie, I can feel it.” Maddie’s eyes widened in shock, “I need to get out of here.”
“Oh, Evan,” Maddie’s face softened. She soothed her arm up and down his arm, which was covered in pink bite marks from the night before. “Take it from the runner of the family, talk to him before you do anything stupid.” It was good advice but looking into Eddie’s eyes and seeing his regret would tear Buck into pieces.
“I’m not doing anything stupid, I’m just going to go for a walk. Promise.” He held out his pinky, pleading silently for her to understand why he needed to do this.
“If you’re not back in two hours, I’m sending a search party.”
“Deal.”
-
He needed to find Buck. The feeling of sadness was getting heavier and heavier in his chest and Eddie knew that he had messed up. He shouldn’t have left. That was Buck’s number one fear, people leaving him, and Eddie had left, even if it was just to go inside the cabin they were both staying in. He needed to find Buck and fix things. The problem was, Maddie found him first.
“Edmundo Diaz, what the fuck,” She cornered him when he came out of the bathroom, dragging him into Buck’s room. “I can’t believe you finally mated with my brother and then you run away?”
“I didn’t mean to-” Eddie put his hands as Maddie swatted at his shoulder.
“You didn’t mean to mate with my brother?” Maddie swatted at him harder, cheeks going red with anger, “Of all of the stupid, irresponsible things-”
“Maddie, that’s not what I meant,” He tried to defend himself but Maddie wasn’t listening. “I love Buck.” Maddie stopped, sucking in her cheeks as she stared at him down, eyes narrowed. Eddie’s anxiety spiked under her harsh gaze, knowing just how far a sister could go when someone hurt their brother.
“You love him but you regret claiming him? How does that make sense, Eddie? Chimney said he talked to you about this.” The first thing Eddie was doing after they left this cabin was asking Buck to write a Werewolves for Dummies book for him and Christopher because learning about all of this from random side bars and stories being told at the dinner table was not the way to do it.
“All Chimney said was that I needed to bite Buck on the neck, he didn’t exactly explain everything that happened after. I mean,” Eddie groaned in frustration, tugging at his hair. “I get that I werewolf married your brother, or at least I think I did. And before you start hitting me again, I don’t regret that.” Maddie pursed her lips but said nothing. “What I don’t know is what this means for us as humans. Are we dating? Are we engaged? Are we still just best friends who don’t talk about the elephant in the room?”
“That’s why you’re supposed to talk to him before running off. Both of you! God, you two are made for each other.” Maddie ran a hand over her face, taking a deep breath. Both of them? Oh God. Eddie had a sinking feeling in his gut as another pang of sadness hit.
“Maddie,” Eddie felt like he was going to be sick. “Where’s Buck?”
“In the woods somewhere,” Maddie sighed, sounding exhausted. “He said he could feel your regret and that he needed to get out of here.” Shit. Shit. Shit.
“I’m going to go find him, I need to fix this.” Maddie’s lips quirked up in a small smile,
“Go get ‘im, tiger.”
-
Buck listened to the sound of nature around him. The babbling creek, birds, and insects sounding in a comforting melody. He didn’t know how long he had been out there but he knew someone would find him eventually. Probably after Eddie took Christopher back down the mountain. No one would be cruel enough to bring him back if Eddie was openly regretting things, they’d wait. Hen and Karen would probably offer to drive him back, just to give Buck and Eddie time apart to figure things out.
He was so deep in thought, he didn’t realize there was anyone with him until he felt the warmth of another sitting next to him. Buck didn’t need to look up to know it was Eddie. Even if he couldn’t smell, see, or hear him, Buck would always know when Eddie was with him.
“I fucked it up, didn’t I?” Buck whispered, keeping his eyes on the running water. “I fucked everything up and now you hate me. You didn’t know what was happening or what your wolf was doing but I did and I shouldn’t have claimed you back because you regret it and now you hate me.” Buck ducked his head between his knees,
“Buck-” Eddie started with a soft sigh that was like sandpaper against Buck’s skin.
“You didn’t even want my mark, you literally backed away from me, and I still gave it to you. I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m so-”
“Evan,” Eddie whispered his name and the softness of his voice broke the little restraint left inside of Buck, sobs wracking through his chest. “Come here, sweetheart.” Sweetheart? Eddie wrapped his arms around Buck, bringing him into a tight hug.
Mate. Mate. Mate.
“Breathe, Buck,” Eddie murmured, kissing Buck’s temple. His tears stopped as quickly as they began. The weight of Eddie’s arms were grounding, soothing his raw emotions. “That’s better. I just need you to listen for a second, okay, sweetheart?” Sweetheart. Buck melted further into Eddie’s hold, burying his face in Eddie’s neck and breathing in their mixed scents. “Am I still a little confused and freaked out about what happened last night? Yeah, I’m not gonna lie.” Eddie kissed his temple again, “But let me make a few things clear.”
Buck’s teeth ached with the need to bite down on Eddie’s neck, to remind him of the bond they made last night. His wolf wanted Buck to show his own neck and beg for the same reminder.
“You’re my Buck.” The words were like velvet wrapping around his heart. “The man who saved my life, who I gave my son to. The love of my goddamn life,” Buck gasped, he tried to look up but Eddie’s hand on the back of his head kept Buck’s face buried in Eddie’s neck. “I loved Shannon but I didn’t know what true, unconditional love looked like when it wasn’t directed at my son until I met you and I’m scared shitless of messing things up.”
Buck rocked his body, knocking Eddie onto his back with a grin on his face. Buck planted a knee on either side of Eddie’s hips, pressing their bodies together.
“You love me?”
“I love you,” Eddie smiled softly, gazing up at him in adoration. “Even though you just covered me in mud.” Buck peppered Eddie’s face, pinning his hands on the ground above his head when he tried to move.
“I love you, I love you, I love you,” Buck whispered between kisses. “I love you so much.” Eddie laughed and Buck kissed him, wanting to know what it tasted like. The kiss was soft and sweet, an accumulation of years of silent yearning. Quick touches on the job, too-long stares from across rooms, sitting side-by-side long after Chris went to bed. Citrus, spice, and sweet cinnamon perfumed the air as Eddie licked into Buck’s mouth, deepening the kiss into something more.
Eddie used the distraction to roll them again, pressing Buck into the mud, grinding their fronts together, swallowing Buck’s moans. Heat spread through Buck like lava, slowly burning through his body from head to toe. Buck pawed at Eddie’s shirt, pushing it up to feel Eddie’s smooth skin beneath his fingertips. It was similar but different to what happened last night, the lust was the same but the sensations were different.
“You’re mine and I’m yours, Buck, never doubt that.” Eddie’s words were like an oath, sending shivers down his spine. “But I do have a question.”
“What is it?” Buck’s mind was fuzzy with lust, thinking about kissing his way down Eddie’s body. Eddie cocked his head to the side with that teasing little grin of his,
“Does this make us wolf husbands?” Buck smiled back, moving a hand down to the bulge in Eddie’s sweats, enjoying the way Eddie’s lips parted and his eyes shut.
“If I say yes, can I blow you?”
“Yeah, yep, okay,” Eddie groaned and let Buck maneuver him back onto the ground. “I can get on board with this.”
“I’d hope so,” Buck licked Eddie’s abs, tasting the salty sweat on his skin. Eddie shivered, hips keening upwards in anticipation. “But yes, we’re wolf husbands, no take backsies.”
“No take backsies, real-ohmygod.” Eddie moaned as Buck mouthed at his erection through the sweatpants. Buck wanted to draw this out, teasing Eddie as payback for making him panic this morning, but he also knew that his sister might be in the process of organizing a search party so faster was probably better this time. He pulled out Eddie’s leaking cock, kitten licking at the tip, becoming instantly addicted to the taste. “B-Buck.”
Buck loosened his jaw, taking Eddie inch by inch, relishing in the moans and whimpers Eddie was giving him.
Mate. Mate. Mate.
“Do you know how many times I’ve thought about this?” Buck asked when he came up, letting Eddie’s cock go with a “pop.” Eddie sat up on his elbows, glaring at him.
“Is this really the time for questions and answers, baby?” Eddie’s voice was scratchy and needy, sending a pulse of excitement through Buck, who eagerly got back to his task, licking a stripe up Eddie’s cock. This time when he took Eddie’s length in his mouth he hollowed his cheeks, sucking for all that he was worth, bobbing his head up and down. “God you look so hot right now, Buck. Taking my cock so well,” Eddie panted. “Such a fucking good boy for me.”
Buck moaned around him and Eddie’s head fell back into the mud. Buck reached for one of Eddie’s hands, guiding it to the back of his head. Eddie got the message, gripping Buck’s hair, using it to slowly fuck up into his mouth. Fuck yes. Buck had wanted this for so long, to be with Eddie, to be used by Eddie for his own pleasure. He wanted to be a good boy. He wanted to be Eddie’s good boy.
“So fucking good for me, baby,” Eddie picked up speed, his thick cock hitting the back of Buck’s throat. “Fuck, I’m gonna cum. Can I cum in your mouth?” Buck moaned at the thought, which must have been answer enough. “When we get home, I’m going to lay you out on my bed and fuck you until you’re a crying mess.” Where the hell had that come from? Not that Buck was complaining.
“I bet you’d let me do whatever I wanted to you.” He would. Buck 100% would and he’d enjoy every second of it. “Tie you up, finger you open, fill you with my cum and then plug you up, making you keep it inside for the rest of the day.” Yes. Yes. Yes. Eddie came with a cry of Buck’ name. Buck swallowed Eddie’s cum eagerly, taking each drop as if it was holy communion.
Buck cleaned Eddie’s cock, kissing the tip before tucking him away. Eddie used his hold on Buck’s hair to bring him up for a kiss.
“You know, there is one thing I’m sad about,” Buck said when he pulled away, loving the way Eddie arched up to follow his lips with a soft whine.
“What’s that?”
“We missed breakfast.” Eddie cracked first, laughing with a fond roll of his eyes and Buck joined in, leaning down to kiss him again.

Christopher's first moon, Eddie's first transformation without pain, and, well, there's werewolf sex.
a/n: If you're not down to read werewolf smut, skip everything between the first set of line breaks. But honestly, if you're skipping the werewolf smut, what are you doing here?
The pack filtered into the field and Christopher was far too excited to hang around his dad for his first transformation. Buck had followed him into the middle of the field where the other kids were, reminding him where the boundaries were and to trust his wolf to guide him through the transformation. Eddie watched him with soft eyes, the sight of his boys making his heart swell. Buck was a great dad to Christopher, even if he didn’t see himself as one, which drove Eddie crazy. Eddie gave his son to Buck. How did Buck not get it?
“Remember, don’t fight your instincts,” Chimney reminded him, rubbing Eddie’s shoulder as he passed to get to Maddie. Right. He needed to focus. He needed to relax and just give in. Eddie closed his eyes, feeling the familiar sensation of his skin tightening like he had a sunburn after too long at the beach. Then his whole world felt like it shifted on its axis and when his eyes opened, the first thing he saw was Buck running towards him. He didn’t need anyone to tell him who the white wolf was, he just knew. There was no pain. His skin wasn't burning like acid had been poured on it. Eddie let his head tilt up, letting out his first howl in a decade, and it felt good.
His paws felt heavy and awkward but they worked, moving him forward, taking him to Buck. They met in the middle, the other members of the pack running all around them, howls and growls filling the night air. Buck licked his muzzle in greeting and Eddie followed suit, his wolf knowingly guiding him. Why had he fought this? Why had he not talked to Buck about being a werewolf sooner? Why had he let himself miss out on this?
Buck didn’t give him long to think about it, coming around to his side, directing Eddie's attention towards the center of the field. There were three wolves, a grey and brown wolf slightly bigger than the third, all chasing in circles after each other. Christopher has shiny, black fur, and even though his back legs weren't as stable as the other kids, he had no problems moving around. Buck bumped his head against Eddie's with the closest thing to a smile a wolf could make, as if to say, see? I told you. And fuck if it didn't make him love Buck more.
Mate. Mate. Mate.
His wolf rumbled inside of Eddie's chest, his brain's focus shifting solely onto the white wolf beside him. Buck whined, rubbing his snout against Eddie's.
Mate. Mate. Mate. Claim. Buck. Mine. Mate.
Eddie whined in return, licking Buck's head, his teeth burning with the need to bite. To bury themselves in Buck's neck, to claim, to mark, to make everyone, including Buck, know that Buck belonged to Eddie.
Claim. Mark. Mine. Mine. Mine.
Yeah, okay. His wolf was onto something.
Buck whined again, nipping at Eddie’s ear, like he was trying to tell him something.
Mark. Claim. Mine.
Buck huffed in annoyance when Eddie didn’t move. Then. Then he did something that Eddie’s wolf knew how to respond to. He ran.
Chase. Run. Catch. Dominate.
Buck was fast and he knew it. Letting out taunting barks as he disappeared through the trees. His sweet, cinnamon scent was intoxicating, leaving a trail for Eddie to follow as Buck navigated the woods nimbly, jumping over downed trees and taking sharp turns to throw Eddie off balance. Buck was enjoying this, making Eddie struggle to keep up. Asshole.
-
Buck was having so much fun. Eddie was beautiful in wolf form. So big and strong with dark brown fur that bordered on black in color. Buck had been unable to resist getting close to him, licking him in greeting, wanting his attention.
Mate. Mate. Mate.
His wolf was whining. He wanted Eddie to show interest in him, to put his spiced citrus scent all over him, to show Buck that he wanted him. But Eddie only seemed to be picking up on half of Buck’s blatantly obvious fuck me signals. Guess his wolf was out of practice after being denied for so long. That was okay. Buck could help him.
When he took off running, Buck’s blood felt like it had been replaced with lightning, the electric sensation shooting through his body. This was going to be fun. Eddie was going to catch him. Eventually. Buck knew he was fast, the fastest in the whole pack. He could run and run and run for miles before letting Eddie catch him.
Run. Run. Run.
He’s coming.
Run. Run. Run.
It’s not that he didn’t want to be caught. But Buck’s wolf had some self-respect. He couldn’t make it easy. Eddie’s wolf seemed to be on the fence about Buck being his mate and Buck’s wolf wanted to put on a good display, to show off the fact that he was the perfect omega. Cute, athletic, good with pups. All of the important things according to his wolf. Buck howled as he ran, showing off, you can’t catch meeeeee. He wanted to shout, howling some more. Eddie growled from somewhere behind him, giving Buck a rush of adrenaline.
Buck didn’t know how long he had been running but he had found the creek that Michael and Bobby liked to go fishing in, which was at least a few miles from the cabin. He could keep run-
Buck went flying, tumbling down the embankment and into the water. Somehow Eddie had caught up with him, managing to surprise him from the left instead of directly behind like Buck had been expecting. Damn soldier with his tactical brain. Buck yelped, trying to dig his claws into the mud to right himself. He managed to get back on all fours but this time when he ran, Eddie was much closer. When he got out of the water, Eddie’s jaws closed around his leg, stopping the chase.
Caught. Mate. Submit. Claim. Please. Please. Please.
Eddie howled, deep and possessive, letting anyone who could hear him know that he had caught something and it was his.
Eddie. Eddie. Eddie.
Buck whined and whimpered, rolling onto his back, exposing his neck and stomach, fully submitting. Eddie growled, low and rough, the sound vibrating through Buck from snout to tail.
Yours. Yours. Yours.
Eddie sniffed at Buck’s fur, licking over his chest and up to his neck, marking Buck with his spiced scent. Buck’s higher functions were offline, his wolf in full control of the show as he lolled his head to the side, whimpering and begging. Come on Eddie. Do it. Do it. Do it. Eddie’s razor sharp teeth closed over the juncture of his shoulder and neck, right where the scent gland was, and Buck’s whines got louder.
Pain shot through him followed by delicious pleasure, Eddie’s teeth sinking into him.
Claimed. Eddie. Mate. Yours.
Buck leaned up to reciprocate the bite, to claim Eddie as his in return, but he backed away, leaving Buck biting at air. What just happened? Buck and his wolf were equally confused, wondering what they did wrong.
Eddie wanted Buck to be his but he didn’t want to be Buck’s?
Did he already change his mind?
Did Buck mess up that quickly?
It didn’t make any sense.
Maybe he was just confused on how this worked? Yeah, that had to be it.
Buck’s wolf whined, sorrowful noises filling the air. Eddie cocked his head to the side, leaning back down. Buck took his chance, pushing himself forward and latching onto Eddie’s scent gland, completing the mate bond. Now it was Eddie whimpering as warmth washed over them. Yeah, now he got it. Eddie was just confused.
Yours. Mine. Mates.
Buck licked at the wound on Eddie’s neck, tasting his blood, their scents laced with the copper taste. They were bonded together now. Forever. He was over the moon with happiness, wiggling to roll onto his front. He could keep submitting or…
Eddie growled when Buck shot off into a run again, barking over his shoulder, taunting his mate. His mate. Eddie was his mate. He didn’t run as fast this time, letting Eddie catch him and bully him to the ground.
Mate. Mate. Mate.
Eddie was so strong, pinning Buck beneath him, growling in his ear. Buck’s brain melting into a puddle of goo, his wolf chanting Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. Buck whined and whimpered as Eddie rutted against him before sliding in. If they were in human form they would take their time, kiss, explore each other first, but this was pure animal instinct. Buck howled, feeling stretched, filled, and oh so full of Eddie, whose rapid thrusts were plowing him into the dirt without mercy.
Yes. Yes. Yes.
His own hard cock was bouncing against his fur, angry and neglected. If he had hands instead of paws he could fix that but right then all he could do was whine in submission. Eddie’s thrusts picked up as his growls got louder, driving Buck to the bridge of insanity with love and lust, heat coursing through him, his claws digging into the dirt for some kind of handle on reality.
Thank the moon Buck was built for this. Eddie howled as his knot began to expand, tying them together, stretching Buck to the edge of too much, that delicious pain and pleasure mixing together yet again. Their scents, orange, spice, and sweet cinnamon perfumed the air as Eddie spilled inside of him. Rope after rope of hot cum filling Buck’s needy hole. Eddie’s teeth sank into their mating mark again as he continued to cum inside of Buck, heightening the sensation of their bond, Buck’s own release spilling over into the dirt. Their howls sounded together like a melody and Buck felt a heavy but comforting weight in his chest, a weighted blanket of love soothing his overactive mind and body.
Eddie practically collapsed on top of Buck, rolling them onto their sides. The sudden movement forced Eddie deeper inside of him, the stretch of the knot pulling more whimpers from Buck. Eddie whined in response, licking Buck’s neck and head, wherever he could reach in a wolfy-sort of aftercare.
After a while, when Eddie’s knot deflated and Buck was able to stand, they sniffed around each other, getting used to their mixed scents. Buck’s wolf’s mind turned towards the pack, who were probably well aware of what just happened, only to have Eddie begin nipping at his ears, growling playfully.
Run. Run. Run.
Again. Again. Again.
And off he went, running through the trees with Eddie chasing after him.
-
If wolves could laugh, the adults in the clearing would have been rolling with laughter when Buck collapsed in front of them, a very proud Eddie purring beside him. They were going to give them so much shit for this in the morning but his wolf didn’t care, it was happy and satiated at the deepest level with Eddie’s scent all over him and his mark bleeding on his neck. Eddie had used him as a damn chew toy over the last few rounds, biting love marks all over Buck’s body, his white fur pink in splotches. He hoped that the marks transferred over to his human body, leaving permanent marks to remind him of their bond. Was that weird? Buck didn’t want to think about the answer to that question.
Eddie laid down beside him, licking Buck’s face, adding another layer of his scent to Buck. It wasn’t long before the moonset and the pups were already fast asleep in the center of the field, laying in a pile with Hen and Karen close by. Michael would probably show up in a few hours, bringing donuts and coffee with him to tide everyone over until he and Bobby finished cooking breakfast. Until then, Buck could close his eyes and enjoy the feeling of Eddie pressed up against him.
-
What the hell did he do last night? Eddie gripped the edge of the sink, staring at himself in the mirror. His neck was throbbing where Buck’s bite - mating bite - had left a scar and his muscles were tired from running so much. From chasing after Buck. The second Buck had run last night, his wolf had taken full control and Eddie had let it, not a single doubt crossing his mind until he woke up cuddled up against Buck with Michael smiling down at him, a coffee in hand.
Eddie had jerked awake, running to lock himself in the bathroom before anyone could see him freak out. He had bit Buck. Buck has bit him back. Did that make them werewolf married? Oh my God. He had werewolf sex with his best friend. Sweet Jesus he needed to breathe. Eddie’s chest tightened to the point of pain as he struggled to take a breath. He needed to talk to Buck but how did he even bring that up?
Hey, man. So, I vaguely understand what happened last night with the biting thing and I really enjoyed topping you but, um, what does this mean for our friendship? Are we only married as werewolves and bros as humans? Also, by the way, I might be in love with you. Scratch that, definitely in love with you and I don’t know if you feel the same?
Yeah. He didn’t know what the hell he was supposed to do. Eddie focused on his breathing, in for four, out for eight, trying to get it under control. A sadness that wasn’t his own panged in his chest. Buck.

Buck.

The hours leading up to the full moon from Eddie's point of view
a/n: I meant to get to the transformation in this chapter, I really did, and then the boys took over and started being cute
The day was going perfect. Eddie had woken to Buck trying to get out of bed to help Bobby with breakfast but he had convinced him to stay a little bit longer. Eddie’s wolf had purred with pride when he had gotten Buck back in bed and had convinced Eddie to lay on top of Buck, holding Buck captive.
“You’ve got to let me up, Eds,” Buck had whispered with a smile on his lips after a few minutes and Eddie thought he deserved a trophy for not kissing his best friend senseless. “I wanna make you and Chris breakfast.”
“Or I could just eat you,” Eddie’s wolf was to blame for that one but Buck’s cinnamon roll scent flooded the air around them, Buck’s pink lips parting in surprise. Bobby had mentioned that he’d be able to determine certain emotions from scent alone once he got the hang of his senses but he didn’t need lessons when it came to Buck. Buck was turned on and Eddie didn’t know what to do about it. Bite. Mark. Scent. Claim. His wolf was throwing out all sorts of suggestions Eddie couldn’t use.
“Cannibalism is frowned upon,” Buck joked, hooking a leg around Eddie’s and flipping them so that he was on top. Fuck that was hot. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Buck inhaled deeply, eyes fluttering shut for a moment. Could he smell Eddie’s arousal too? Shit. Shit. Shit. “But I have been told I’m delicious.”
Eddie’s mind went blank, trying to process those words. The human half of him registered that Buck was flirting with him but the wolf part of him wanted to know who had said that and what their home address was. That was his Buck. He was too stunned to stop the other man from escaping. Buck kissed Eddie’s forehead and hopped out of bed.
“I’ll wake you up when breakfast is ready.”
Eddie’s brain was still offline for most of the day after that. Buck hadn’t mentioned anything about Eddie’s increased levels of affection over the past few days, in fact he seemed to be reveling in it just as much as Eddie had been. But what did that mean? Best friends could be affectionate, share beds, and kiss each other on the forehead, right? Right? Damn it. He was screwed.
He didn’t have a lot of time to think about it either because Buck had an itinerary planned for the day. First was breakfast, then Buck took Eddie and Christopher for a hike to burn energy and show Chris the boundaries that the pups were expected to stay within. Then they had played Monopoly with the rest of the pack, proving once again that Buck’s competitive streak was genetic.
Buck had also organized a soccer game with kids vs. adults, using Karen as the referee, and kitchen chairs as the goal posts. Christopher was having the time of his life, everyone was careful not to roughhouse with him but they still treated him like part of the team, passing him the ball and cheering him on when he was doing well. They were already family but Eddie’s wolf wanted to be pack.
Next Buck had pushed Eddie out of the door with Bobby, kissing his forehead again, so that they could do another sweep of the perimeter again. When they got back, Eddie’s heart melted at the sight of May and Buck curled up on the couch together, sound asleep, with Gnomeo & Juliet playing in the background. Bobby covered the pair of omegas with a blanket.
“Omegas don’t usually exert so much energy before the full moon,” Bobby whispered, guiding Eddie towards the kitchen. “The three of them are normally just curled up on the couch all day beforehand.” A wave of guilt washed over Eddie, threatening to drown him.
“Why?” He managed to keep the emotion out of his voice when he asked. Bobby passed him a juice from the fridge.
“The moon affects every wolf in some way, normally alphas get more territorial,” He gave Eddie a knowing look that had him looking away. “Betas tend to get more protective and omegas usually feel exhausted from dealing with the rest of us.” Bobby chuckled softly, gazing over Eddie’s shoulder towards where two of his kids were sleeping.
“So he organized a whole day of activities even though what he needed to be doing was relaxing?” Eddie wanted to strangle and kiss the man in equal measure. It was classic Buck behavior, sacrificing his own well being for those around him.
“What he needed to do was take care of his…packmates and that’s what he did.” Bobby said with a conviction that soothed Eddie’s concerns. “He cares about you Eddie, we all do, and today was his way of taking care of you.”
“Still,” Eddie sighed. “I wish he would’ve at least told me what he was doing.”
“And then you would’ve tried to mess with his perfectly laid plans, which is why the rest of us let Buck do his thing,” Bobby chuckled. He had a point, Buck would’ve pouted like a kicked puppy if Eddie had argued against Buck’s carefully crafted itinerary. “Why don’t you help me with dinner, that way you can do something to take care of Buck?” Yeah. That sounded like a good idea.
After dinner, Eddie’s anxiety struck with a vengeance. His chest was tight, his breathing shallow, his heart pounding rapidly. The full moon meant pain, it meant losing control of himself, it meant danger. Everything that he didn’t want for his son. Christopher was playing Mario Kart with the other kids, his laughter ringing through the house. It should have calmed him but it just made his heart pound faster because Christopher didn’t know what was coming.
“Come on,” Eddie let Buck pull him away towards their bedroom. “Breathe for me, Eds,” Buck pushed him down on the bed. But Eddie couldn’t breathe. He needed to run, go home, find his silver chains and make sure he couldn’t hurt anyone. But what about Christopher? He couldn’t do that to Christopher. He couldn’t chain up his son, not when it was going to hurt him.
“Buck,” Eddie managed to choke out. Buck would fix things. He would take care of them.
“Breathe, Eddie,” Buck crawled onto Eddie’s lap, pulling Eddie’s face into the crook of his neck. “Breathe me in.” And he did. Once he got a whiff of Buck’s sweet scent, sweeter now that he was trying to comfort Eddie, he felt his anxiety easing. “That’s it, baby, everything’s okay.” Baby. Eddie liked that. “Keep breathing for me.”
“I’m scared, Buck,” Eddie dug his fingers into Buck’s waist, keeping him exactly where he was. “I don’t want Chris to be in pain and I don’t want to do something that’s going to make him, or you, or anyone hate me, and I-” His chest tightened and Buck’s scent turned tooth-rotting sweet.
“I promised you that I would never let being a wolf cause Christopher pain or let you be in pain like that again,” Buck pulled Eddie’s head back by his hair, the tension at his roots grounding him. Buck’s face was serious, blue eyes staring deeply into his own. “Do you trust me?”
“You know I do.” There was no one in the world that Eddie trusted more. As he came back into himself, Eddie realized the position that they were in. Buck was straddling his lap, hands in Eddie’s hair. Eddie could easily lean in and kiss him. Kiss his best friend. “How much time until the moon?”
“About two hours,” Buck replied, cocking his head to the side in curiosity. “Why?”
“Nap with me?” Eddie’s voice cracked, unsure if he was asking for too much. He never liked to ask but he wanted to be selfish. Eddie wanted to be selfish with Buck, he wanted to take everything Buck was willing to give him of himself and a little bit more. Buck chuckled, resting his forehead against Eddie’s. Eddie’s eyes fluttered shut, scared to see hesitation or disgust in Buck’s blue eyes.
“Only if you lay on top of me again.”
“Deal.”
Buck had tried to take Eddie for a run before the moonrise but he had refused, bullying the bigger man onto the couch, insisting that he could go on a run with Chimney instead. Buck had protested until Eddie had grabbed Christopher and put him in charge of keeping Buck in place.
“Be good,” Eddie kissed Christopher’s curls and then after a moment of hesitation, he kissed Buck’s curls as well. The wolf side of him was content knowing that Buck and Christopher were together and safe. Chimney grabbed him by the back of the shirt, dragging him away from his boys,
“Come on, let’s see who’s the fastest.”
“Hey!” Eddie yelped at the strength of the smaller man. “Don’t stretch out my shirt,” Chimney laughed at him, giving his shirt another tug before letting go.
“Sorry, man. I didn’t want poor Chris to be exposed to you and Buck scent bombing the living room.” Oh. Eddie’s whole face went red with embarrassment. He had been so focused on Buck that he had barely noticed the scents of his crew and it hadn’t even crossed his mind that they would be able to smell what Buck did to him.
“Um,” Eddie fumbled for a response. “No comment?” Chimney rolled his eyes, starting a light jog that Eddie easily matched.
“Come on, man. You're telling me you're not angling to be my brother-in-law?” Eddie tripped over his feet, barely managing to stay upright as he sputtered, trying to come up with a response. Brother-in-law. Chim's brother-in-law. Chim who was married to Buck's sister. Which would mean marrying Buck. Marrying Buck.
“No idea what you're talking about,” Eddie coughed out, picking up the pace. Chimney matched his speed with an annoyed huff.
“C'mon, man. It's obvious,” Eddie sure as fuck hoped it wasn’t. “You’re in love with Buck and even if you don’t admit it now,” Chimney gave him the side eye. “Your wolf isn’t going to show the same restraint.” New fear = unlocked.
“What do you mean by that? My wolf is going to start reciting love poems or some shit?” Chimney laughed, kicking up the pace another notch.
“Something like that, let’s just say more than one couple has sealed the mating bond under the full moon without talking it over first.” Sealed the…? Eddie knew mates were a thing, obviously, but the way Chim put it he had a feeling “sealing” the bond took more than a conversation or a few licks.
“And by, um, sealing, you mean…?” Eddie’s face was read because of the exercise. No other reason.
“Biting the scent gland, right here,” Chim tapped the left side of his neck. “Bite hard enough to break the skin, it’ll bind you two together, mix your scents permanently. Every wolf will know you two belong to each other.” A spark ran up his spine. Oh yeah. He liked that idea.
“You know what, let’s just run.” Eddie needed time. More time than he had before the full moon. He needed to think things over, decide if he really wanted to possibly set fire to the most important relationship in his life besides that with his son, and then talk it all over with Buck. Eddie wanted to make sure they were on the same page before anything happened between them.
“If you two are this gross now, I’m going to need to bleach my nose when Buck’s heat hits.” His WHAT?!?
Eddie had kept running long after Chimney called it quits but still found himself wired. It wasn’t until Athena came out and told him that he was making Buck nervous that Eddie gave up and went inside to eat a protein bar and drink some water. Buck wasn’t on the couch where Eddie had left him, Chris, Denny, and Harry were playing video games there instead. When Eddie asked where Buck was, Chris pointed him towards a room that was off of the kitchen.
Eddie recognized it as a carport that had been converted into a new room. It was a small library with the shelves jam packed full of books, there were blankets and cushions all over the ground, and a rocking chair in the corner. Buck was curled up in the blankets with a book, an empty mug of tea beside him.
“Bobby built you a library?”
“It’s Michael’s actually,” Buck didn’t look up, flipping a page. Eddie and his wolf were both concerned by the sedated response. “You should eat a snack, it’s almost time.”
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” Buck huffed. Yeah, Eddie didn’t believe that for a second. Eddie took another step into the room, letting the door close behind him. Buck finally looked up, his eyes rimmed red. Eddie’s wolf snarled and the next thing he knew, he was on the floor next to Buck, bringing the larger man into his arms. “I’m fine, Eds,” Buck laughed, burying his face in Eddie’s shoulder, confusing him. How was he fine? He was being quiet and he looked like he had been crying, and- “It’s just a sad book.” Oh.
“I have the embarrassing impulse to bite the book,” Eddie laughed, holding Buck to him, his cheeks going hot. Buck laughed even harder,
“No biting my book, I like this book.” Buck shoved his shoulder, a smile bright on his face.
“It made you sad, I think I should get to bite it,” Eddie jokingly snapped his jaws at the book, letting Buck’s laughter wash over him like a golden light in the summertime. “Come on, just one bite.”
“Down boy,” Buck smacked his shoulder with the book. Before Eddie could say anything else a whistle sounded, the kind Bobby made when he wanted their attention at a scene. Buck perked up, looking like a golden retriever at dinner time, “Come on. It’s time to meet your wolf properly.”

Note
Speaking of constant state of emergency.
What does Jake do when you break a tooth eating a cracker? 😭😭😭😭😭
A tooth I should have taken care off a long ass time ago.
Jake's no stranger to handling a broken tooth (there was that time his best friend fell out of a tree in high school) and would immediately be there with the ice pack. He'd call your dentist and sweet talk them into seeing you that same day and hold your hand in the waiting room. If you're trying to be stoic about the pain, he'll tell you how good you're doing and kiss your forehead. If you're absolutely losing it over the pain, he'll whisper affirmations and sweet nothings (and of course give forehead kisses).

I mean, pretty sure "I love you" is what I wrote 🤣 but I now see that oblivious™ Eddie Diaz might've missed it

Something About The Moon Brings Us Together | Ch. 3

Previous Chapter
Buck was waiting for the day that Eddie came clean about being a werewolf. The entire 118 pack had scented it on him during his first day but he hadn’t brought it up or taken Bobby up on his offer to join them for their full moon night in the mountains. As it turns out, Christopher was going to force his father’s hand because in the middle of Buck’s living room was a half-transformed and terrified child.
Or: The one where Buck takes care of the Diaz boys, especially when Christopher turns out to be a werewolf too.
Maddie tries talking sense into Buck, Eddie wants Buck to take a nap, and the rest of the pack shows up.
“He’s my best friend and as far as any of us know, he’s straight.” Buck argued to Maddie, who had spent the last twenty minutes quietly trying to convince Buck to make a move on Eddie. Which was a terrible idea. World ending. 0/5 stars. Because then he’d lose his best friend. Or at least make things extremely awkward for a while and possibly be separated from Chris again. After the lessons he had learned with the lawsuit, that was not a situation he wanted to be in again.
“And he has announced this straightness to you or did you just assume because of Shannon?” Maddie pointed out with an accusatory arch of her brow, “Drink your tea before it gets cold.”
Right. Tea. How was he supposed to drink tea while his sister was trying to give him a heart attack and existential crisis at the same time?
“I can’t ruin this, Maddie.” Buck groaned after taking a sip of his rapidly cooling tea. “Even if this is all I get, I’ll be happy.” Liar. He knew it. His wolf knew it. Maddie knew it. Hell, the aliens on Mars in the documentary he’d watched this morning probably knew it too.
“You could at least, I don’t know,” Maddie gestured vaguely, “Bring up the idea somehow?” Buck rolled his eyes,
“Oh yeah because that wouldn’t be suspicious at all,” Buck sassed, rolling his eyes. “Great plan.” Maddie smacked his shoulder, glaring at him. There was a short, quiet growl that drew their attention, both him and Maddie turning to find Bobby and Eddie approaching. Eddie was glaring at Maddie, which Buck thought was weird, because the two of them always got along.
Even with the stormy look on his face, Eddie was devastatingly handsome. He had skipped hair products that morning so his hair was soft and loose, falling across his forehead, and Buck was a sucker for Eddie’s big, brown eyes any second of every day. Buck sighed wistfully.
“Oh yeah,” Maddie chuckled, “Tomorrow’s going to be a lot of fun.” Buck didn’t understand what she meant by that or really care, too focused on Eddie. Maddie patted his arm, heading back inside, and Bobby just offered him a smile before doing the same, leaving him and Eddie alone on the porch.
Eddie smelled like spiced citrus, like a mulled wine that deserved to be sipped and savored, warm and rich. Buck never got tired of smelling it and had no complaints when Eddie left only the smallest of spaces between them. He took Buck’s tea, nose scrunching when he sipped the cool drink.
“That’s mine you know,” Buck teased. “Doesn’t even have caffeine.”
“Good,” Eddie’s voice was a little rougher than normal, eyes trained on the door to the house. “You probably need a nap after driving us up here.”
“I don’t-” Buck began to argue even though he was tired. He wanted to find his sister and finish their conversation, play a few rounds of video games with the boys, and then help Bobby cook dinner, helping and eating every flavorful morsel passed his way.
“You’re taking a nap.” Eddie wasn’t his alpha, not technically. That was Bobby. Because it was Bobby’s pack. But whether it was the natural omega instinct to submit to an alpha or the fact that Buck would do anything, possibly including murder, for Eddie, Buck gave in quickly.
“Fine,” Buck huffed, “But just a short one.” A nap did sound good, he had to admit. Buck had woken up bright and early, something he liked to do in his younger days but not so much as he got older, and had immediately been confronted with a severe case of morning wood poking into Eddie's bubble butt since they had shifted positions in their sleep. How he had managed to get out of bed and take a shower without passing out from lack of blood flow everywhere else was a divine miracle as far as Buck was concerned.
Eddie tipped his head towards the door with a stern look and Buck went, rolling his eyes.
“You let it get cold, didn’t you?” Maddie sniped at him when Buck handed her the half-drank mug, unable to stop with Eddie’s hand on the small of his back propelling him forward. Buck winced guiltily, apologizing.
“We’re going to take a nap,” Eddie told her, continuing to push Buck along. We? As in together? Suddenly walking towards the bedrooms took a lot less effort. Buck’s room was at the end of the hall, since he was the last wolf to join the pack, and Hen and Karen’s room was next to his. The bathroom and the kid’s bunk room were across the hall.
Karen had insisted on decorating it for him, adding blue curtains and a bedspread. There were also books lined up on the dresser, all of which were well read, some of which had sticky notes in them with various thoughts and questions for him to look up later. If Eddie was just going to stay long enough for him to “fall asleep” then maybe he could just read for a while before slipping out to restart his conversation with Maddie.
“Eds, if you’re not tired, you don’t need to stay,” Buck yawned the last few words of the sentence, pulling off his sweatshirt. “I promise I can fall asleep without a bedtime story.” Eddie rolled his eyes, pulling off his own shirt and unlike Buck, he didn’t have anything underneath and Buck’s brain powered off.
Listen. They had seen each other in various states of undress a hundred times but no one ever got tired of looking at the magnificence of Michelangelo’s David and Buck would never get tired of looking at Eddie. Said living artwork arched a brow at him, rebooting Buck’s brain enough that he flushed with embarrassment, looking away.
“You’re telling me if I leave you alone you’ll go to bed and not just read one of these books for an hour?” Busted. Buck pouted, moving to get into bed but Eddie gently pushed him towards the other side. “I’ll sleep by the door.” He’ll sleep by the…? Oh my god it was obvious now. Eddie was feeling protective. Growling at Maddie for pushing him, making sure he got enough sleep, putting himself between Buck and the door.
Eddie’s gaze was down, fidgeting with the bracelet Chris had picked out for him last time they had gone to the zoo together. Protective and insecure, one hell of a combination that only Eddie Diaz could make endearing.
“Come on then,” Buck went to his new side of the bed, crawling under the covers and patting the spot next to him. “Let’s take a nap.”
-
Eddie was pretty sure that the soft purrs he heard were in his head until Buck rested a hand on Eddie's bare chest, sleepy eyed.
“You're learning to listen to your wolf, how does it feel?” Eddie leaned his cheek against the top of Buck's head, loving that he had begun to wear his curls more often.
“Weird. I mean, I didn't know what these urges were so I ignored them but giving into them feels so natural. It feels like losing control and I don't know if I should be afraid or not.” Buck hummed in the way he did when he was thinking, the subtle vibration resonating in Eddie's chest. It felt so right the way they were in that moment. Laying in bed together, Buck tucked under his arm with his head on Eddie's chest. If that was what Eddie's wolf wanted, could listening to it really be that bad?
“How about this,” Buck drummed his fingers on Eddie's chest and the purring sound got louder. His purring got louder. “If you're ever concerned about an instinct, whether you should or shouldn't do it, or you're not sure what it means, you ask me.”
“Kinda always my plan,” They laughed together, snuggling closer. “So, what the hell is up with the purring?” Buck yawned, rubbing his cheek against Eddie's pec, the sweet smell of cinnamon rolls that lingered around Buck getting stronger.
“You're either happy and content or trying to comfort me.” Both. It was both.
“Does it, I don't know,” Eddie blustered, cheeks going warm. “Sound good?”
“Mmm,” Buck's limbs got heavier as he drifted closer to sleep. “Makes me feel safe.”
“Because you are,” Eddie promised. He had the urge to rub his cheek on top of Buck's head and told him as much.
“Good instinct,” Buck mumbled. “Scent, puts your scent on me.” Oh yeah, that's something he wanted to do. Buck sighed contentedly as Eddie began to scent him, making Buck's cinnamon roll scent evolve into something closer to an orange roll, their scents mixing together. It was addicting and Eddie couldn't stop until Buck's scent disappeared completely, replaced with Eddie's own.
Eddie was perfectly content as he drifted to sleep, letting his wolf purr as loud as it wanted to. Buck was safe. Eddie made him feel safe. He'd keep Buck safe.
-
Buck had the best nap of his life and was kind of upset when Athena knocked on the door to the room, waking them both. Eddie wasn’t happy either, snapping out a growl.
“Cranky as toddlers, I swear,” Athena rolled her eyes. “Dinner’s just about ready, so come on and get out here.”
“Is everyone here?” Buck yawned, sitting up and stretching upwards. Athena nodded and Buck felt a sense of excitement begin to build in his chest,
“That’s right but you’ll have to wait until after dinner, Buckaroo.” And with that, Athena left the room, closing the door behind her. Buck’s excitement propelled him from the bed, he was tripping over himself to pull on his discarded sweatshirt from earlier in the day. When he looked back at Eddie, the man was pouting in the bed, quickly schooling his features when he caught Buck looking.
Right. Alpha. Omega. Feeling protective and obviously very clingy.
“Come on, everyone’s going to be excited you’re here,” Buck held out his hands, coming to the side of the bed but Eddie didn't move. “Why the long face, Eds?”
“You were just really happy to get away from me and it, I, we?” He groaned, burying his face in his hands. Buck’s shoulders dropped, pained at the internal struggle Eddie was going through. “We didn’t like it.”
“Hey,” Buck said softly, sitting down on the bed beside Eddie, pulling him into a side hug. “I’m not excited because I’m getting away from you, I mean, come on, have you met me?” Buck squeezed his shoulder, “I’m nothing without you and Christopher.” God did he sound pathetic, even to his own ears, admitting that without Eddie and Christopher his life would be next to meaningless. Besides them all he had was the job.
Sure, he loved his sister and niece, and the 118 pack, but everyone had someone else. Everyone besides him. All he had that was his were the Diaz boys and they weren’t even really his. Shit. Now his wolf was sad.
“Evan, we’ve talked about this.” Eddie turned, hugging Buck tightly. “You’re not expendable.”
“I know, I know,” Buck mumbled into Eddie’s shoulder. “But my point is that I’m not excited to get away from you, hell, what I’m excited for includes you and Chris. The other omegas and I get really needy,” Buck’s face burned with embarrassment. “As we get closer to the moon, it’s kind of become a tradition that we do a puppy pile in the living room and sometimes we watch a movie. Everyone just kind of gives us affection for a little while.”
Eddie didn’t say anything for a minute, rubbing his hand up and down Buck’s back. Buck’s anxiety spiked in the silence and he could feel a ramble starting to come on before the smell of spiced citrus began to fill the air around them, soothing him.
“Then I guess we better get out there and eat dinner.”
Hen gives them shit for taking so long to come out to dinner and Christopher accuses them of snoring so loud they shook the cabin, which earns him an eye roll from his father.
“Smells delicious, Bobby,” Buck’s mouth waters at the lasagna on the table. “Sorry I didn’t help.” Bobby smiles, looking between him and Eddie like he does when they do something good on shift.
“It’s okay, kid. You needed a nap.”
Eating dinner didn’t take long with a table full of hungry wolves under the influence of the moon. Lasagna, garlic bread, salad, and strawberry cheesecake all devoured within an hour, then it was time for the movie. Buck, Karen, and May, the omegas of the group got to settle in on the couches first, and then the rest filtered in.
Bobby and Athena were on either side of May with Harry laid out sideways across all three of their laps. Hen and Maddie were on either side of Karen, with Chim next to Hen because the two friends would talk across their significant others during movies if they weren’t beside each other. Karen was holding Jee and Denny was laid out on the floor in a pile of blankets and pillows. Sandwiched between Athena and Eddie was Buck, who was on cloud nine with Eddie’s arm over his shoulders and Christopher on his lap.
“You going to stay awake through the movie, Superman?” Buck teased, rustling the boy’s hair. “You’re looking a little sleepy.”
“Not sleepy,” Christopher protested, scrunching his nose at Buck in offense.
“Sure you aren’t,” Eddie chuckled softly. “Just make sure you don’t spill the popcorn when you fall asleep.”
“Daaaad,” Chris whined and as the credits rolled and the Diaz boys continued to bicker quietly, Buck felt content. More than content, he was happy. He was surrounded by pack, all of their scents mingling in the air, emotions of amusement, happiness, and excitement were everywhere. Love filled the room in a warm, comforting haze, and Buck leaned his head against Eddie’s shoulder, listening to his soft purr.
The purr was new and Buck was over the moon about it. He hadn’t lied to Eddie when he said that the purr was comforting, a sign of happiness, and it brought Buck joy that he was able to express himself like this now. That Eddie was beginning to embrace his wolf instead of suppressing it and that he was trusting Buck to guide him through it all.
Tomorrow was going to be a good day and an even better night. Eddie would get to learn what it meant to transform without pain and Christopher would get to meet his wolf for the first time. Buck knew that the new experiences could potentially be overwhelming for his boys and silently began constructing a checklist of things he could do to make it less of an ordeal for them.
“Stop it,” Eddie whispered, lips brushing against his ear, sending a shiver down Buck’s spine. “We already have everything we need, we have you.” Buck melted into Eddie's side, keeping a tight grip on Christopher who was quickly fading. “Tomorrow’s going to be just fine.” If someone told Buck that Eddie had learned how to read his mind around the same time that grenade exploded, he would have believed them because there was no person on earth who knew him better.
