Ever since your betrayal, I have developed nothing short of distrust, needing constant reassurance, the fear of abandonment, and the feeling of unworthiness. Your demeaning words cut so deep into my heart that it still stings up to this day. I tried so hard to give you the love that you want from me and all I ever get in return is being put down and stepped all over.

I submerged myself in a self-loathing bath. I was never an insecure person before you. After you, I became this anxious, clingy-ass bitch of a sensitive person who needs constant validation from my loved ones. It's exhausting, for them and especially for myself. I lost my self-worth and I didn't know how to love myself anymore. I hate that I became this people-pleasing mess who doesn't know how to set boundaries, in fear of rejection and abandonment. I hate that my emotional regulation got even more out of control. However, I owe it to myself to fix these issues. You may have been the catalyst, but it is my responsibility to seek help and get better.

It's been almost two years now since you cheated on me and left me for your best friend. No matter how much shit you've given me, how much pain and suffering I had to endure from your abuse, I still wish you all the best. I hope that you don't come across someone who will do that same shit you did to me... because good lord that feeling fucking sucks. It changes a person, and in my case, it changed me for the worst.

It's taken me that long to get to this point but... I forgive you. People make mistakes. I forgive you. People make choices that hurt other people. I forgive you. This is not me excusing your behaviour and actions, because I will NEVER forget what you did to me. It is completely ingrained in my heart and brain. But I forgive you and I hope you become a better person moving forward. I don't want you in my life ever again, and I don't want to hold anything against you anymore. I'm finally letting this go so I can heal and become a better version of myself.
