why don't people in zombie apocalypse stories ever just wear suits of armor? you think any zombie is gonna get their shitty rotting jaws through this?

I'm gonna rip and tear my way through the zombie apocalypse completely unharmed because none of the undead hoards will be able to get through my plate mail

Everyone has seen Los Angeles, my city, in the news.
I moved here, as many do, to pursue dreams of art and creativity. The only reason this city has become the cultural hotspot it is due to the vast array of people living here. All of them are needed to make this place what it is.
The rise of fascism in this country disturbs me deeply. This pattern was called out years in the past by many authors, musicians, and artists. It is our JOB as artists to call out these things when we see them. We hold up the mirror to the world and say "Behold. This is who you are. Come to terms with your place." Yet, as I see many brave young people at protests and speaking their mind, I also see many bright artists missing from the discussion.
Get a grip. Maintaining your peace does not keep the monster from hunting you. Staying on your release schedule, promoting your upcoming album or show this weekend is not going to save you when cops or ice come knocking at your door for what they think is wrong with you and your neighbors aren't there anymore to protect you.
You have the ability to speak up in a way that you've spent so long working on. A set of skills that allows you to share your thoughts and feelings for others. Now is when the world needs that mirror the most. Speak your mind. Your silence is deafening.
That being said: The United States and Israel have an alliance dead set on bringing about suffering the likes of which we have not seen in quite a while. Our government is funding genocide all across the globe and having others do its dirty work. No one is illegal on stolen land. White people are in someone else's home telling them they have to get out. Protect your community and neighbors. Abolish Ice. Fuck Donald Trump. The only violent ones are them.
I can't go to protests because I can't stand or walk for very long. Here are some other ideas. Call your governor, reps and the hotels 🧊 is staying in. 5Calls is a site I've used for years because it gives you the script and phone number, so it makes it easier for me to call even with brain fog. Send emails to these people as well. Your thoughts matter and your voice needs to be heard.

I think this mindset makes a lot of sense.
This is a world where capitalism currently exists and due to the nature of current global society to have a customer base there are some.... things, companies must currently hold opinions on.
While I don't want Disney or some shit profiting off of a community they clearly dont care that much about I'd sure rather see a bunch of pride mickey ears than maga ones. Disney has influenced their previously rather conservative customer base to be more accepting and thats nice to have.
We've kinda gotta pick our battles and corporate pride is a much smaller thorn in my side than genocide and global fascism.
Corporate pride is one of the less evil byproducts of capitalism.
I'm gonna be honest.
I'm not 100% against corporate pride.
Reasons
Every business that celebrates pride represents a group of people who haven't given up on me. Who are in fact willing to lose customers to tell me so.
A lot of humans are followers. Trump and leaders like him embolden the bigots to get loud. Businesses who support pride embolden allies to get loud.
It keeps us visible, in the public eye. They can't forget we exist if there's rainbows in their stores and ads.
It normalizes us. If our stuff is in the clothing and next to the kitchen utensils and hardware, it becomes just a part of everyone's life.
Capitalism sucks. Immensely. But wouldn't you rather the stores had pride flags than Nazi ones? As long as this continues, I hold on to a little hope that we're not completely lost.

What do you do when you see a car with no plate or placard in a disabled spot?
I know I cant make these people feel shame or regret because they're clearly ableist trash anyways, but its a so beyond disgusting.
Thinking about getting stickers to smack on these assholes cars
