Hello World!

I think I've started to figure it out!

I've been working on trying to make a website now for 4 years and something clicked today. Every time I sat to design what I wanted to make and then being daunted by not knowing how to make it, which then kept me from creating. I get it! At least a bit more than I did!

When I tried to create in the past I did not understand that i was creating a space that reflected me. The reason it didn't work before was because I wanted to be something I wasn't.

The empty space, the vast openness that I wanted to fill like the other pages I saw scattered across the internet, but I could not because that was not me.

I was starting from level one , I am starting from level one, and I wanted to be at level one-hundred. I wasn't okay with being at level one before. I didn't appreciate what it meant to be at level one.

Now, I feel like I do. A bit more any way.

I have to be to become and it starts at level one.

Learn from the things you enjoy --> figure out what you like about it.

Use what you learn to make something of your own.

Don't let fear keep you comfortable/complacent.

For a long time now, I've been running. Having to think of the next move without every really considering the whole picture. I don't think that this way of going about my life is helpful.

From the current world events, with all the talk about tariffs and AI, it is easy to get fearful and nihilistic.

It seems that the best thing to do is to focus on fun, creating, and learning. It may not make me anything, it doesn't have to make or do anything, but if it brings me even a little bit of joy, that is enough.

Process??

If you've ever attempted to create anything and are able to get to a point of completion, hats off to you!

Creating something from scratch teaches you very quickly what you know and what you don't.

I began working on creating a small animation with a flower to ring in the spring and I wasn't quite sure how to begin, so I just went for it.

The simple idea, was anything but simple. Not that I overcomplicated the process (I think...), but I didn't really know where to start. So, like any good experiment, I started by gathering some references, and then I tried to recreate the references to better understand what I was working towards.

And, I got about this far

I'm going to work on refining it and keep creating!

Going for it!

First attempt at creating a type of water background. The details were as muddled as my understanding of what water looked like.. I’ll be sure to use references next time! I’m working on shaking off the mental grime and just have fun! I've had some big ideas for this space, and I still do, but I think there is some learning and experimenting I need to do.
