Yandere town but the darling works out in the park early like sun rise morning early to do yoga. I bet many of the thirsty people in town would also go over since they are also 'working out'
Oh absolutely. If not there for exercise, they're either dog walkers or cutting through the park on their way to work, hoping to catch an eyeful of you, hopefully in yoga pants. Only the most confident are able to join you at first but slowly the crowd following your movements behind you grows. After your early morning work out, every falls over themselves offering you a towel, water, a massage, anything you need. There's a fight for said towel or water bottle once you leave, each person wanting it for their own collection.

I have an idea for yandere small town. Reader is a drifter/homeless and ended up in this small town after the bus suddenly flat tire, the yanderes have the advantages and reader works odd jobs around town, like the diner suddenly needs extra hands, city hall needs a janitor. The worse/best thing is that Darling is out in the open, no where to hide. The reader trying to leave and the town come up with every escuse to get them to stay.
Ok, so when I was a teenager, during summer vacation I would go on a road trip with my dad where we stayed in a small town for an event (where I get some inspiration for this fic). We used to camp 20 minutes out of town by the hot springs with a lot of drug users. Luckily, on of the motel owners was nice enough to let us pitch our tents on the lawn and use the motel's showers.
Anyway, this is what happens to reader. The motel owner first allows you to pitch a tent (provided for free by one of the shop owners of course) outside as a way to manipulate you into viewing them favorably, when they allow you to stay for a reduced price (they'll still charge you, slowly draining your funds so you're unable. Eventually, someone offers you a couch to stay on. You never get the chance to stay anywhere long as the citizens get antsy if you spend too much time with any one person. You kept hearing about jobs, friends of relatives of the people you were staying with needed some help. The florist with the unsettling green eyes needed someone to help her with an influx of orders. Later, you were hired by the pharmacist to operate the phone. And so on. You always had a friend to stay with but never a place to truly call you own.
You wouldn't have an easy way to leave either. The bus that brought you here suddenly dropped service to the town. Apparently, the company was sick of sending the tow truck out since the bus usually broke down more often than it didn't. You were trapped until you could acquire a car. But what's that? The mechanic has no cars to spare! In fact, no one in town does. So there goes that escape route.
They barely need to manipulate you to stay, cutting off all ways for you to escape. You are slowly integrated into the town. After a while, the citizens even start to gaslight you into thinking you've always lived in town and you never want to leave. What do you mean you have a family somewhere else? No you don't, you're an orphan, your family died in that tragic house fire and you've had hard times ever since.

First Time Meeting Sabine
Anyway, have some self indulgence. You can read more about Sabine here. Hope you like her.
Female yandere ex assassin x GN Reader
For the first time in her life, the woman in blue wasn’t following orders. For the first time in 30 years, she was free to think and act for herself. And for the first time, she had the opportunity to focus on something other than… no. If she was truly leaving that life behind, she shouldn’t even think the word. Still, someone who was so good at that couldn’t ever truly leave the life behind, just take an extended vacation. Sooner or later, someone would want her to cash in on a favor for someone else. But that wouldn’t happen for a while. Her existence was dangerous enough on its own, and her threats made ensured they would leave her alone.
The woman was now independent and no longer had another’s instructions to guide her. But with this newfound autonomy came apprehension. What did she do now? She’d had all emotions and desires trained out of her from a young age, leaving only physical sensations like pain and hunger. Normal things people had things they wanted, people they cared about. She didn’t.
But she had to start somewhere. There was a muted feeling deep down within her, a wanting to want. A desire to understand others’ emotions, why they acted the way they did.
So her she was, on a sidewalk, staring into a cafe. There were a few people in line but overall, it wasn’t very busy. She’d been inside cafes before while on missions and such but always sat down without ordering. There was never a reason to.
Entering the building, she glanced up at the menu, faltering as she took it in. That was… significantly more options than she was expecting. But she was committed and so she stepped up behind the last person in line. In now time at all, the people in front of her placed their orders and stepped away. She still didn’t know what to get, paralyzed by choice. And she couldn’t take her time either, there were now people behind her, waiting to order their drinks. She must have taken too long, hearing the person behind her speak.
“Need some help?”
Of course she had been aware of you as she was everyone in the room, always on the lookout for threats and such. You hadn’t registered in her mind but now, you had her full attention. She turned around, eyes looking you over, assessing you. You just stood there, a smile on your face, waiting for her to speak.
“I… am unsure what to order.”
“Well, what flavors do you like?”
She stood in silence for a moment, thinking your question over. “…I do not know.” You tilted your head but she continued before you could ask. “What are you getting?”
You told her your usual. She nodded but showed no signs of recognition. She turned back around and perfectly replicated what you said to the cashier, ordering one for each of you and paying before you could protest.
“Right. Names for the order?” the cashier asked, writing on the cups with a marker. You stuttered out your name, looking to her and waiting for her to do the same. Her eyes flicked away as she spoke, breaking the contact between you.
“Sabine.”
Unaware of this little moment between you two, the cashier said your drinks would be ready soon and then immediately addressed the person behind you two. You and Sabine stepped to the side, waiting for your identical drinks.
“Thanks, by the way. You didn’t have to pay for me you know.”
She glanced at you, but didn’t linger, feeling overwhelmed at the thought of eye contact. Her voice held the same emotionless tone as she replied. “It is no trouble. I would not have known what to get otherwise.”
“Well, can I pay you back at least?”
She shook her head, a subtle gesture. “It is not necessary. Although…” She trailed off, not knowing if she should ask this of you. You seemed kind enough, not a threat at all. The way you were so willing to talk to something as dangerous as her, how you didn’t seem nervous at all, unable to sense the predator next to you. Taking another look at you, she was convinced.
“It has been a while since I have spoken with someone. Would you…?”
“Of course!”
Sabine felt something in her soften as you agreed. So eager, so willing. One of the few emotions she was understood was fear, it was usually the emotion she saw in her victims’ eyes before the light behind them faded away. And she was still programmed with the drive to stay alive as all creatures did as well as pain to know if her body was damaged. Looking at you, she saw none of the fear, anger, or disdain people held for her. Only acceptance. You were the opposite of afraid. How unusual.
The employee behind the counter called out both of your names, placing two identical drinks next to each other on the counter. Your hands brushed, reaching out at the same time. You also grabbed cream and sugars, offering some to her. She plucked them from your fingers, staring down at the packets.
You lead her to sit on one of the couches (right in the middle of the room, unprotected) and began chatting. Sabine didn’t say much, only asking the occasional question to pull more information out of you. How naive you were, how willingly you gave personal details away. You needed someone to protect you. There were too many people who could hurt you, take advantage of you; you needed someone to look after you and make sure you were safe. You awakened something in her, a warm feeling.
You looked at the time, eyes widening at at how long she kept you talking. You gathered your things and said goodbye, rushing out the cafe. The woman in blue waited a few seconds before slipping out the door after you, leaving her drink behind.
Please allow me to find my salvation and humanity in you

Yandere jock with a super sweet, nerd/geek darling? Like, after they become friends, invited Yandere jock to movie nights with them? Just binge watching their latest obsessed show or movie series with them? I feel like spending hours alone with their darling isn’t something he’s going to pass up.
Yandere jock would daydream in all of his classes after you asked him to come over for a movie night. He’d accidentally ignore his friends questions and sit there dazed with the thought of being in your house.
He’d run over to your last class to pick you up, even asking his teacher if he could leave 5 minutes early so when he made it over to your classroom, he would already be there when the bell rang.
“Ethan! You’re already here?” You looked surprised to see his big frame right in the hallway that was filled with people.
“Yup! Let’s go now. I’m so excited to see the movie” He grabbed your hand and started guiding you through the crowd. “What if I sleep over even after the movie?”
“You wanna stay even after?” You looked up at him now that the two of you were in the students parking lot. He knew where his car was so you were just following him.
“Yeah! So then we could have a sleepover y’know? If not then it’s fine, I’m not gonna die or anything” He was going to die if you rejected him. He’d wanted to spend more time with you, he was being greedy but he really liked you.
He liked you enough to watch over you during lunch while his jockey friends got excited about uninteresting things like cheerleaders or some girl they’re talking to. He was originally the same, breaking girls hearts when they didn’t interest him but now he was obsessed you.
Maybe a little too obsessed if he was befriending you, making sure you got home safe everyday, buying you things when you slightly hinted at liking something, and doing anything that would please you. A little stalking here and there too but nobody had to know that part!
“Sure, It’s the weekend so you can stick around for a little while longer” You opened his car door, hopping in like a regular passenger. He couldn’t hold his happiness and had a big dumb smile on his face.
It must’ve been the speeding that got the two of you home so quick or the sheer excitement that was held behind the wheel, either way the two of you made it to your house quickly and you were already setting up the snacks.
He was busy getting the couch comfy and you were taking out popcorn from the microwave, dumping it into a huge bowl. He made sure to steal the comfiest pillows off your bed as you requested. After he was done he helped pour two glasses of juice and brought them to the couch.
You sat down, placing the huge bowl of popcorn on the table while you got comfortable. It was a little chilly so it was the perfect temperature to unintentionally snuggle against Ethan. If it weren’t for the movie playing he’d truly believe you could hear his heart beating out of his chest.
While you were rambling about the movie he could feel your arm wrap around his, you were so close to him he didn’t believe he could handle it anymore. Until you distracted him by pointing out a theory. He probably would’ve died by the sheer embarrassment if you didn’t.
“So that’s why people think she actually did it and not her” You pointed towards the characters that you were mentioning. He luckily listened to the theory while he was panicking.
“But what’s about him, don’t you think he could’ve killed her too?” He didn’t point at the screen but instead look at you expecting your response.
“Hmm, I don’t think he did it because he was at that party cheating on the other girl” You shivered feeling the cold air when you moved. He noticed and brought you closer, basically in his lap. Your cheeks reddened but you continued on.
Ethan just nodded and listened to your every word, even asking some questions wondering about the movie. It ended swiftly with all the talking that went back and worth. He was glad that he asked to stay over because time with you was precious to him.
“I don’t have a sleeping bag or anything so is the couch alright? I’ll leave you with all the pillows we brought and the blanket” You started cleaning up the table while you spoke, finding it easier to do it now than tomorrow.
“Yeah! I’m good don’t worry” He dutifully grabbed the empty glasses and placed them in the sink.
“Alright, if you need anything just knock” You thought the whole hangout was fun, you wished it went on a little while longer but maybe he would stay tomorrow morning for breakfast!
“Thanks for everything” He smiled, relishing in the fact that you were so sweet to him even with how the two of you met. “It’s no problem! I had lots of fun today” You looked up at him with a pleasant smile.
“No I mean like.. thanks for forgiving me and stuff. I wasn’t nice to you at all and you still wanted to be friends so I wanted to say thank you” He sighed finally getting it off his chest, he had been meaning to thank you for awhile now but never got the chance to bring it up.
“It just matters that you’re nice now and.. your friendship means a lot to me so I’m glad you turned out to be a good guy” You hugged him, feeling his arms wrap around you after a few moments.
“Fuck I love you” Ethan mumbled, greedily bathing in your warmth that you so kindly offered to him. He loves you so much and yet he can still feel himself falling more in love with you. He’d take his whole heart out and offer it to you on a silver platter if you asked.
“Hm? What’d you say?” You looked up at him after the two of you stopped the long embrace, his expression was soft but then hastily turned into a panicked one.
“Wha- nothing! I was just saying thanks! Anyways I’m sleepy, I’m gonna go to bed now!” He pat your head and jumped right into the comfort of the couch. You found it funny how fast he tucked himself but didn’t question it. You went to bed after that and had a lengthy dream about him, the same way he dreamed about you.

“only if you want to date every eligible adult in town” what if i. take you up on that offer. I wanna date *everyone*
The Town:
Tumblr media
Anyway, better buy a planner and work on your time management skills. Now more than ever, you must be diligent about splitting your time evenly, never showing too much favoritism. You’ll need to schedule a day for each of your partners, sometimes inviting multiple people out at once. You are dating a lot of married couples after all. Some people even start dating each other as well as you.
It’s common for someone to randomly come up to hold your hand or give you a kiss while you’re out in public. You’ll commonly feel arms wrap around your waist from out of nowhere, even when you thought you were alone.
If anyone hurts you in the relationship, they are immediately removed, never to be seen again. But you most likely won’t have to worry about that since everyone tries their best to keep the peace.
(also, yes there are orgies if you want to have them)

For the yandere town story-- What if the reader notices that everyone is dying to have their attention and they just use that to their advantage? Bonus points if the reader is a bit sadistic as well
Competition dialed up to 11. The townsfolk love being used by you and will do anything to each other to be in your line of sight. They bring gifts, lavish praise, and do everything for you so you don’t have to lift a finger. You never have to open a door, drive yourself anywhere, or anything else you don’t want to do.
Everyone is happily wrapped around your finger, staring at you with heart eyes. You can say and do anything to them and they relish it. Some citizens kneel before you presenting their neck, putting their life in your hands. Please dig your nails into their skin or squeeze their neck! (among them are the nurse, florist, and the receptionist at town hall)
If you’re into darker stuff, the church members and other more bloodthirsty citizens will invite you to watch them torture various sinners, people who displeased you in some way or those who didn’t appreciate you enough. Ironically, this will lead to less people being executed, being kept alive for your entertainment.
Overall, people in the town love that you’re so willing to use them. They love pleasing their most beloved member.

Cinnamon Cream
Yan Couple [F+M] + G.N Reader
A.N: The winning pair from a poll I ran to satisfy my craving for edible partners. The duo are heavily implied to made out of the foods they represent as a heads up
-
"Care for another roll, Hun? Can't send you home on an empty stomach."
This woman was trying to kill you. The tinge of cinnamon fresh on your tongue, you couldn't fathom the consequence of taking on another pastry when you've only sampled the first. Your stomach being empty was the last of your concerns with how big it was. Your free hand lie flat on the table and even it was off by a few inches. She claimed to have made this batch smaller so you could finish the full dozen before you left which you found quite impossible. Prying the fork from your teeth, you let the woman down as best you could - praying to be let off with the rest to take home.
"No thank you, Mrs. Cinnabar - I haven't finished the first."
Her jovial demeanor is not lost as she takes the utensil off your hands. "You can drop the formalities, Love. We're all friends here. You'll have to forgive me for everything else. Izzy worked so hard on his part and I would hate for it to melt before you become addicted to us both."
The smell hits you before you take the bite she offers. No matter the date in time, she always smelled like a bakery. Mrs. Cinnabar has been your neighbor for about a year now following the disappearance of the last tenant not even a week before she and her partner moved in. A friendly face to all, she had taken a special liking to you when your paths finally crossed. Being next door neighbors was one reason, but she also told you she took an immediate interest to you similar to the instant attraction she felt towards her husband. He wasn't in the picture often, and so your company patched up the hole his absence left. With the combination of her loneliness and the rewards of free meals - who were you to say no when she asked for you to visit? Today's dessert was meant to be special and now you knew why.
Cheeks stuffed with pastry, the sweet bread takes up a new texture as you manage to scarf it all down. Rich, velvety cream with just a hint of vanilla; the cold, ceremonious blend to an otherwise warm and sticky treat. As the taste settles on your tongue, you could piece together traces of the ice cream mixed directly into the icing of the cinnamon roll - the delicate flavor you had trouble putting your finger on before. It certainly lived up to the hype set for it by the woman at your side. The scent of cinnamon is almost overpowering as Cinnabar sweeps her thumb up the corner of your sugar crusted lips; smile as sweet as the roll on your plate.
"Well, don't keep me waiting. You like it - don't you, Hun?"
"I-it's great... Wish I could give my compliments to your spouse."
Cinnabar peaks up in her seat; a chill running down your spine at the extend of her grin. For a brief moment she looks behind you. "Who said you couldn't?"
Leaning back in your seat, you come to find that the source of your chattering teeth is not her smile, but the hands of the man gripping the back of your chair. His glare is as icy as the frost radiating off him, your breath visible as you exhale in surprise. Stoic as a brick wall, his eyes show signs of satisfaction drifting over the missing forkful of the now frozen dessert. Ever so slow, he cleans the remaining crumbs off your face before joining his wife's side of the table. Perching an arm over her shoulder, he slides a metal ring into her breast pocket as she takes his hand.
"Y/n, Izzy. Izzy..." Cinnabar rests her head on his wrist. "knows all about you already. Nosy thing has listened in on all of our conversations before now and I'd say he adores your company as much I as I."
"but... I thought you said he was gone most of the day?"
"Oh, he is, Hun. Up in his study. Not too good at speaking with other humans. Specially cuties like yourself, isn't that right, Dear."
Izzy nods his head with a grunt - pale face just shy of a flush under the kitchen lighting.
"We both care about you so much, Hun. Watching you has opened so many doors for us so it's only fair we open ours to you. We've thought hard about how to introduce you to life with us, but the best start was showing you have well we work together. How good all of us could be for each other. I'll keep you warm in the winter, Izzy can cool you down in the summer. You...can just be you. We know this is a lot to take in now, but soon you'll see things our way."
Cinnabar retrieves a set of keys from her pocket, twirling the familiar ring round her finger. "We can talk more about this after you finish your dessert."

. . ⇢ ˗ˏˋ [ yandere cheerleader ] ˎˊ˗
Tumblr media Tumblr media
.°୭̥ ˎˊ˗ a yandere cheerleader and her darling 💕 i sincerely hope she lived up to everyones hype despite her huge delay (sorry 😫). also a gentle reminder that i have pinterest boards for all my ocs, you can find maggie's here – 'the cheerleader.'
outcast gn!reader (w/ nondescript genitalia) x female yandere 💕 sfw in this one even tho i REALLY wanted to make it nsfw i just couldn't think of a good gn scenario 😔
tws/contents: general yandere behavior, obsession, mean girl behavior, suggestive content
Tumblr media
💌 the yandere cheerleader, magnolia king, is the most popular girl on campus– ask anyone.
💌 anyone even remotely related to the sports circles know her. the faculty and staff know her. everyone knows that a party isn't a real party if magnolia isn't invited– or doesn't show up. she can make or break someone else's reputation with a snap of her fingers.
💌 maggie is a queen bee if ever there was one– and she's got the attitude to match. not always mean, per say, but she's no stranger to being an absolute bitch. sometimes its what you need to do to get by in life, after all– and she's more than willing to be mean to anyone who deserves it.
💌 (just ask the frat boy she outted for trying to spike a girls drink last summer; the mere mention of her name is enough to make him cry. not only did she blast him on social media, get him arrested, and get him kicked off campus and expelled, but his social presence is in shambles).
💌 she's hot, she's smart, she's athletic, she's confident, she's cunning, she's the head cheerleader, she's everything.
💌 specifically, she's everything you seem to lack. you aren't a total loser, but you're nowhere near maggie's level. you're unpopular, and you stick to yourself. you know her, but have no reason to think she even knows you exist.
💌 and that's where you'd be wrong. once, you nearly bumped into her in the library, and commented anxiously on how you liked her dress. a socially awkward moment for you, one you have all but forgotten... but for magnolia, it was so much more.
💌 it was a spark of some kind. you didn't fawn or gush over her, but were still so awkward and shy, hardly able to look her in the eye, despite how much she wanted you too. and then you scurried off so quickly, turning on your heel and practically running away. she was... intrigued.
💌 suddenly, it was like she was seeing you everywhere. you passed each other so often, went to the same coffee shop, had some of the same classes. how had she never noticed you before?
💌 you were an itch she couldn't quite scratch, a creeping obsession bubbling under the perfectly manicured facade that was magnolia king.
💌 and so you become her project. she's not quite sure where her obsession with you begins or ends, or why she feels such a pull to be around you, but... she's not one to deny herself of what she wants. and if she can cover up her true intentions by helping you along through a maggie-branded glow up, even better.
💌 and you make her feel things she's never felt before. it has to be something special. you say her name and she feels her heart thump in her chest, and her face go hot. she finds herself excusing herself to the bathroom to splash water in her face, leaning against the wall until the memory of your smile stops making her feel weak in the knees.
💌 if it didn't feel so nice, she would be so much more mad about it. don't you know she has a reputation to uphold, y/n?
💌 suddenly, she's everywhere you are. tracking you down and inviting you to sit with her at lunch, if you're in the same lunch hall. moving you to the desk or table next to hers in classes that you share. going out of her way to meet up and walk between classes or extra-curriculars.
💌 and heaven forbid she catches anyone being rude to you, let alone bullying you. if she catches you upset at all, she'll deal with you first, and them later. pulling you into the bathroom, muttering that she 'can't let you run around looking like that, with snot and tears all over yourself,' while she wipes away your tears and applies a concealer (in your shade, which she bought just for opportunities like this~) to your red, puffy eyes and smooths it so gently into your skin with her ring finger.
💌 it doesn't matter who it was that upset you. they could have been her closest friends or total strangers– she will have no mercy for them. it'll be like a mean girls x heathers crossover.!
💌 and thats only the beginning. before you know it, she's practically attached to your hip, always begging you to come to homework with her, to come get food with her, to come to a party with her.
💌 she invites you to everything she gets invited too, and suddenly, the fate of everyones parties rest on your shoulders instead of hers. if you don't feel like going? neither does she. she simply doesn't want to go without you.
💌 it ramps up a notch when she begins asking you for your opinion on her hair, her makeup, her clothing. you don't catch right away that it's flirty– at least, not until she begins insisting on putting on little fashion shows for you every time you accept an invite to her place.
💌 doesn't her filly new skirt match her hair bow so well? don't you like the charms in her new braids? doesn't her new, tight tank top look so pretty? don't you love this new shade of sparkly lip gloss? what about this sundress? do you want to see the matching set she's wearing underneath, too?
💌 you don't take the bait right away, too afraid to upset the balance of this new, delicate friendship– and it drives magnolia up the wall.
💌 can't you see how perfect you would be together? how powerful you could be together, the perfect couple? how much she has done for you, how much more she is willing to do? she loves you so much, but seriously, how can you be so dense? don't you want her? please say yes. she'll go insane if you say no.
💌 she begins inviting you to sleepovers at her place, without any of her other friends. before, she had been inviting you over with other people, ingratiating you into her circle, not wanting you to feel cornered. but now? she's over playing nice. if she has to ramp it up, she will. she needs you to notice her.
💌 if she has to strategically end up in your lap during a scary movie, or planting a lipstick kiss on your cheek when saying goodbye, or stroking her well manicured fingernails up and down your forearm when talking, or 'accidentally' flashing you when she bends over to pick something up, or even has to 'accidentally' cop a feel when she sneaks past you late at night in her kitchen....
💌 she'll do it. whatever she has to do to get you to notice her– and only her.

Can you do Yandere Small Town if that’s ok with you
I can! All I ask is you give me a specific prompt or at least a direction to go in. It may take me a while to answer them because I have a busy schedule but don’t hesitate to send in anything you like!

Sorry to bother you but here's a thought that's been stuck in my brain: Imagine the reason reader moved to the town was to get away from someone that's obsessed with them. Like reader got major bad vibe from that person and decided to moved to the town so they could avoid that yandere for a while. And some time later, that person finally located reader and moved to the town as well. Imagine they absolutely got folded by the whole town. I'm sorry if this makes little sense because I'm writing this at 3AM and half asleep
It really depends on if you told anyone before hand. If you had ever mentioned moving to town because you were afraid of someone, multiple citizens go on a hunt for this person. They may even bring back a newspaper. They typically don’t like news from the outside world reaching you but they felt you should know they were dead.
If this person arrives in town, it’s simply a matter of who gets to them first. Maybe they get poisoned in the diner or maybe they drown in the motel pool. As soon as you even hint you’re uncomfortable, that person is disposed of.

How do you think the yandere town would react to the reader actually dating one of the residents? Like one of the workers from the stores in town or a groundskeeper in the park that they just had chemistry with and decided to get together with them? Very curious about how bad of an idea that would be.
There are different reactions depending on the type of person each yandere is.
Some are delusional. They won’t believe you’re actually in a relationship, at least of your own free will. They may swoop in to rescue you from this awful person.
If the person you’re dating had any alliances, expect them to take the opportunity to move in on you, cashing in favors owed for the times they stalked you or stalled you, talking to you while in the store so you would stay long enough for them to clock in.
Then there are those who view you as the most divine being. They view your partner as your chosen one, keeping them under protection. If you were ever to break up, they would turn on this person in an instant since they no longer held your blessing.
And of course there are people trying to separate you two. They start with manipulation but will eventually get violent.
In the end, you have to look at the ratio of worshippers to people wanting to separate you. Don’t expect your relationships to last long or at least choose someone with a lot of allies.
(maybe, if you’re brave enough, you could suggest everyone ally. but only if you want to date every eligible adult in town)

So I was wondering. For your yandere town. What if the darling was a HUGE animal lover? Like they see some stray dog and the darling goes "ight, you are mine now".
You’re in luck. I’ve actually had the idea for a yandere pet store owner for a little while now. Rex is a big friendly man, who always has a smile on his face (he looks like Makoto from Free!). He is a huge hunk with an even bigger heart. It's hard not to melt at the sight of him bottle feeding a tiny kitten in his hands.
The shop itself serves a few purposes. Instead of just selling pets, it mostly serves as a supply shop. There isn't really the market to justify having many pets in the shop. Most of the animals end up being adopted by Rex eventually. Additionally, Rex used to be a vet in a big city before he moved into town and continues his practice here. His gentle demeanor soothes the animals in his care whether it's a puppy, a bird, or a snake. He looks after each one with the same amount of affection, even the tarantula someone has. Finally, he runs a pet daycare out of his home connected to the shop for people who need to leave town or work late hours.
That's where you come in. With your love of animals, of course the two of you would cross paths. You happened across a cat outdoors. You coaxed it over, looking for any sign of ownership. It seemed perfectly happy to let you pick it up and examine it. You hoped it wasn't someone's cat that they let outside (outdoor cats are not good everyone, they're destructive to the environment and spread parasites). You decided to bring it to Rex, wanting to see if he knew its owner or if it was chipped. How could he not fall in love, seeing the cat purring in your arms and refusing to leave. He scanned between its shoulders, finding the contact info of his owner. He left to make a phone call, coming back a few minutes later. Apparently his owner had been worried after her cat escaped out a window.
The two of you got to talking and Rex took the time to show you the other animals in his care. He watched you coo at the puppies and lizards sleeping under a heat lamp. How could he not extend the offer to you? He could always use an extra set of hands.
If you say yes, most residents will find an excuse to come in. Anyone who doesn't have a pet will adopt one as a way to connect with you. They'll leave it at the daycare in the hopes you'll be there when they come back to pick their pet up. Rex works alongside you, protecting you from the more aggressive citizens. He loves taking the opportunity to show off for you. He could sling large bags of dog food with ease, something he always insisted on doing instead of you. He was also surprisingly good at math, able to calculate prices fairly quickly.
He has a cousin named Lumi who moved to town two years after Rex did, but she rarely speaks to him. She's far more reclusive. You might see her peaking out at you from the shadows of the fish and aquarium supply shop across the street. (i haven't seen totally drama island but she kind of looks like gwen from that)

╰┈─➤ ❝ Canine: 80s slasher oc ❞
introducing a new slasher oc: jesse! information about him + a oneshot. this one was harder for me to write because there was less oc x reader content to rely on right off the bad and i could just... never get happy with it. this is what i settled on and it is sort of based on my canon darling for him, but i tried to keep it a lot more vague for you guys 🖤
anyway, it was nice to flex some of the horror muscles again~ i know im sorry its kinda all over the place but 😫 i'll do better in his other posts i SWEAR
gn reader and sfw (aside from.. ya know. the murders)
oneshot word count: 2.6k
tws: death/murder, blood & gore, knives, kidnapping, reader sustains a head injury, implied yandere/obsessive behavior
Tumblr media
🔪 jesse heil, otherwise known as the ghost of mercy rock mall to mercy rock as a whole or 'canine' to the smaller population who swear up and down they've seen him through the broken windows of the abandoned mall, was once a regular teenager in the mid 70s. now, he's a violent urban legend.
🔪 back before the 1976 tragedy, mercy rock mall was the main attraction on the north side of mercy rock, colorado. it has arcades, all the hottest stores, music stores, an ice cream shop, a food court, and even a tiny indoor playground to drop your kids off at while you went shopping. it was a bustling shopping center, fit for the every growing side of town that was quickly becoming the 'good' side of town.
🔪 until the summer of 1976, when a shooter entered the building with his feral dogs. on his own, he claimed nearly twenty lives, with nearly 30 others sustaining bullet & panic related wounds. his dogs wreaked havoc, having been abused and starved, and claimed another five lives themselves.
🔪 one such casualty was that of then 16 year old jesse heil, whose body was never officially recovered. it was assumed he was 'eaten by the dogs.'
🔪 the community healed over time, but the mall itself never recovered. it was closed down within a year.
🔪 over the last nine years, the building has become unrecognizable as it has fallen into disarray. the walls are molding and crumbling, parts of the ceiling are collapsing. the place is a hazard, but it remains untouched– oddly enough, not even vandals and daring teenage punks looking for somewhere easy to spray paint will venture inside.
🔪 now, in 1985, people believe it's haunted, and thats why no one will tear it down. (in reality, the contracts are so messed up & convoluted that none of the contracting companies see any use in trying to straighten them out).
🔪 its well known in the town of mercy rock that you stay away from the ruined mall. people who go in don't come out, and the police are more likely to chalk the stories up to runaway teens than actually investigate. they've never found any bodies before, so they simply don't care.
🔪 still... there's rumors that the mall is more than haunted. that something evil is there, and it's the reason no one comes out of there alive. rumors of something with the face of a dog and long, pitch black hair watching from the shadows.
Tumblr media
"but those are just rumors, right?"
your friend (though 'traveling companion' was more apt) jenna shrugged, taking a heavy drag from the cigarette between her fingers before passing it to her boyfriend, ryan.
“might be, might not be.” she smirked and wiggled her fingers at you, making spooky ‘ooooh!’ noises to mimic a cheap ghost.
“well, do people actually go in there and disappear? or are they really just runaways?” you asked, kicking at the rubble in the empty parking lot, the rubber sole of your shoe making a tiny squeaking sound as it kicked over the damp weeds pushing up through the ruined pavement. you turned your head away from jenna and ryan, looking at the dilapidated building off to your right. you didn’t really believe in ghost stories, but you had to admit, the building was... ominous in the dark.
“i think it’s just a dumb scapegoat,” jenna answered. “no one wants to admit that their kid ran off to do drugs or get hitched, so,” she shrugs, gesturing vaguely to the run down mall, her movements causing the skateboard she was sitting on to slide and bump harmlessly into ryan’s side. “the ghost of mercy rock mall must’ve gotten 'em instead.”
“nah,” ryan shook his head, pushing greasy hair out of his face and blowing smoke directly at you, despite the many times you had asked him not to. “there’s gotta be something up with that place.”
you tune the couple out as they start arguing again. everything seems to make them argue; it’s been like that since you first hitched a ride with them, all the way on the other side of colorado, long before they offered to show you the infamous mall on your way through the city. the outside walls were tagged with various spray-painted profanities and signatures, but there were less than you would have expected for it going on nine years of being abandoned.
“well, let’s just go in and put your little theory to the test then, huh?” jenna snapped, bringing you back to the present as she stood up, slamming her foot down on the end of the board and catching it as it flipped upwards.
“wait–” you started, frowning, but she was already heading across the parking lot towards the front of the building.
ryan got to his feet, grumbling to himself about how much of a bitch jenna was, hardly sparing you a glance over his shoulder as he jogged to catch up to his girlfriend.
“come on!” jenna called back to you, grinning over her shoulder. “don’t tell me you’re scared?”
were you? you couldn’t decide. but you knew you didn’t want to be left alone in this parking lot in the middle of the night, so with a lot of hesitation, you pushed yourself to your feet and trailed after them.
ㅤㅤㅤ∘ ─── : 🔪 : ༉─── ∘
it didn't matter how many people disappeared, how many people he made disappear... more just kept coming.
he had grown numb to it in the last nine years. the first few kills were fueled by panic and rage, fueled by their terrified expression at seeing his face, the way they were so disgusted by him, the way they were so loud when they screamed. he had only been sixteen. sixteen and terrified. back then, he hadn't really meant to do it at all.
but now, he wasn't sixteen anymore. he was twenty five, if the calendar he scratched into the wall served right. it was easier to get them out of the way before they started making a mess of his home. before they started screaming and crying. before they started insulting him.
he watched you while you sat in the parking lot. your friends finished a bottle of alcohol, smoked and argued, and you watched the ground. you would have all been fine if you just stayed out there... but no.
why did people keep coming? there was nothing here for them anymore. this was his home now, his territory. the only place he was safe, and alone. the only place he could find peace and quiet.
he watched the three of you new intruders head towards the door, though he didn't miss your initial hesitance. the way you lagged behind, and followed so slowly, eyeing the mall like it would swallow you whole. you had a different demeanor than anyone else who had come to trespass before and it gave him pause– but only for a moment.
he narrowed his eyes at the other two as the girl opened her mouth and shouted, 'there's no fucking ghosts, ryan! don't be such a pussy!'
she would likely have to go first.
ㅤㅤㅤ∘ ─── : 🔪 : ༉─── ∘
the inside of the mall was eerie, and in even worse condition than the outside.
jenna had bravely led you both inside, pushing the collapsing doors aside and shouldering her way in. once inside, she had boldly cupped her hands over her mouth and shouted, "hello? anyway home?" she grinned smugly at the answering echo of her own voice.
confident, she ventured further into the mall, choosing to follow the path to the left, down the east wing. she and ryan cracked jokes to each other, ignoring you almost completely. you, in turn, trailed behind and studied the ruined building. the empty shops, some still full of abandoned merchandise, left you with a strange, empty feeling. you noticed how little graffiti there was on the walls, and couldn't figure out why that was so odd to you.
as you were coming up on a series of doors labeled 'maintenance’ and ‘service room,’ something rattled off to your left, followed by the faint sound of feet scuffling on a dirty floor, scaring all three of you enough to jump. jenna screamed. you put a hand over your heart and let out a long breath when you didn't see anything accompanying the sound.
"see, there's someone in here!" ryan hissed.
"yeah probably a homeless person," jenna muttered, although you didn't miss the way she shifted on her feet and started anxiously picking at her nails. "who else would hang out here?"
you silenced their bickering by speaking up. you figure if someone really was squatting there, you would at least try to be polite. no need to be rude, right? "we're sorry if we intruded, we didn't know anyone was here!"
there was a long pause, and you watched the darkness of the long, wide hallway. you didn't hear anything aside from jenna mumbling behind you about how stupid you were, but you were almost sure you caught the faintest glimpse of... something. something that glimmered, a tiny reflection of light, peeking out of the maintenance closet. it was gone too quickly for you to be sure if was anything at all.
"we'll be leaving now," you tacked on, voice coming out a bit quieter than you meant, but the heavy silence of the mall was weighing down on you, swallowing up your voice. the thought that no one was there at all entered your mind, that your brain was playing tricks on you, making you feel a little silly, but you ignored it. better safe than sorry.
you were just turning back to jenna and ryan to usher them back towards the exit when something silver flew past you, a sharp whistling sound filling the momentary silence.
then ryan was screaming, and you looked on in horror at the knife that was now sticking out of jenna's throat. clumsily, she reached for it, and pulled it out before either of you could think to stop her– warm blood sprayed across your face, and you were too frozen to even scream.
"fuck, jenna! fuck, what the fuck!" ryan screamed, reaching for jenna as she collapsed, the knife clattering to the floor and making you flinch.
your thoughts screamed at you to move, to do anything, but you couldn't get your feet to move. not until you heard the door swing open behind you, and a second knife flew through the air on the other side of you, completely avoiding you but only missing ryan by mere inches.
you dashed forward, grabbing ryan by the arm. "get up, get up, we have to go!" you demanded, voice low, nearly slipping in the pool of blood jenna was lying in. her eyes peered up at you, but she was gone. it was just you and ryan now.
he let you tug him to his feet, leaving jenna much easier than you thought he would. you pushed him in front of you, trying not to focus on the sound of heavy footsteps behind you as you forced ryan to run faster. unfortunately, you were headed deeper into the mall, whoever had killed jenna between you and the way you had all come in.
the only thought on your mind was finding a place to hide, or another exit.
you glanced over your shoulder, and couldn't see anyone following you. it was too dark to see much at all. quickly, you rounded the corner and tugged ryan into one of the empty stalls in the food court, forcing him into the kitchen.
"get down," you hissed at him, pushing him forcefully down to the floor and behind the cover of one of the steel counters. the floor in here was greasy and grimy on your hands as you crawled into place next to him.
"what the fuck, what the fuck," ryan babbled to himself, and you reached out to shush him, a hand over his mouth.
"ryan, please, shut up!" you begged in a harsh whisper. he whimpered against your hand, full body shaking, but his voice died out. slowly, you pulled your hand away. "we'll wait it out! we'll wait them out, and break for the exit. just shut up!"
but as soon as you saw the thin beam of light slide across the dirty floor, flooding in through the crack below the door, you knew hiding wouldn't solve your problem. you had made the wrong choice, and there was nothing you could do but sink further back against the counter and hope by some miracle the killer wouldn't look on this side of it.
the kitchen door swung open, and the soft glow of whatever handheld light the killer was using flooded in, casting heavy shadows across the far wall. their footsteps were heavy as they entered, and you could hear the sound of their breathing. it was muffled, like something was over their face.
you turned to look at ryan and signal for him to be quiet, but almost immediately, he snapped.
“no! i don’t want to die! fuck, kill them!” ryan shrieked, and before you knew it, he was pushing you out of your hiding place, forcefully enough to knock your head into the side of the counter. it sent you sprawling out onto the floor, directly into the beam of light.
dizzy, vision going spotty from the hit to your head, you looked up into the light, and wondered idly of it was the last thing you would see. ryan was still screaming his head off to your left, babbling and begging.
the light moved– but not towards you. it shifted towards ryan, and you felt the breeze of someone walking past you. they were headed for ryan, and you thought dully that you should stop them, but you were staring to feel queasy as well, the room spinning around you.
you shuffled, forcing yourself to your feet. "wait," you groaned, but it was too late.
"what the fuck?!" were ryan's final words before his shrieking reached a fever pitch, hurting your ears– before it cut out into wet gurgling sounds and low pitched moans. a dark figure stood in front of him, blocking most of the carnage from your view.
"fuck," you muttered, and stumbled backwards towards the door. it felt like the floor was moving beneath you– you pitched forward with the vertigo, barely catching yourself on the edge of the door as you spun towards it. your face felt damp; was it sweat, or blood?
you just barely stumbled out of the kitchen and back into the food court when a pair of strong arms circled around your waist, pulling you backwards.
you kicked and whined, but your voice was caught in your throat, halfway between a sob and being worried you might throw up. before you knew it, you were being pinned against the wall, blinking through the double vision as a light shined directly in your eyes.
you gasped, panic seizing your lungs and making it hard to breathe.
"why aren't you screaming?"
the voice was masculine, deep and gravelly, nearly the point of sounding uncomfortable, catching you off guard. it takes you a second to process his question, and another to process that he was waiting for you to answer him.
"n-no point," you groan, teeth chattering together. "you'll kill me either way, right?"
his hand, clad in a black glove, enters your field of vision, heading for your face. you flinch lightly, which gives him pause, but he continues. he pokes at your forehead, and it burns. you suck in a breath at the sting.
"...were they your friends?"
what kind of sick game was this? you squinted your eyes against the harsh light, but still couldn't see who was speaking to you. would he kill you faster if you played along, or if you didn't? did it matter either way?
"no," you answer honestly once you feel his grip on your upper arm tighten, perceiving it as a warning.
"...he hurt you."
when the man pulled his free hand back, the fingers of his glove were wet with blood. you felt woozy, like you couldn't stand up straight anymore. the grip on your arm tightened again.
finally, the blood loss from your head wound was catching up to you. your vision closed in, blacking out until there was nothing left, not even the harsh light from the killer's flashlight. you vaguely felt something supporting you, strong arms catching you as you crumbled, and just before you passed out, you wondered if you would ever wake up again.
ㅤㅤㅤ∘ ─── : 🔪 : ༉─── ∘
jesse's heart hammered in his chest. what was this feeling? why was he so warm? so... jittery?
why hadn't he killed you already?
it would have been so easy to take you out before the other one, 'ryan' he believed he had heard you say. you were injured and sick, and ryan was cornered. but he hadn't done that. he had seen the way ryan gave you up immediately, sacrificing you without a second thought, and hurting you in the process.
and jesse had been so angry. angrier than he thought he ever had been in his life.
and now here you were, unconscious and bleeding in his arms. it would be even easier to kill you now. but... he didn't want too. for the first time in years, he looked down at another person, and didn't want to hurt them. what the fuck kind of magic powers did you have to do that to him?
he brushed a gloved finger over your face. you didn't flinch, or even stir.
without really thinking about it, jesse hoisted you into his arms. he cradled you into his chest, maneuvering carefully out of the food court to keep from bumping you into anything. he went through a checklist of what he would need to clean and bandage your wound, trying to think of anything else except for the way looking at you made his chest feel tight.
he returned you to the service room, the room he had made his home. he laid you gently on the mattress he had stolen from the rundown home goods store at the other end of the mall, and studied your face.
was this worth it? you would wake up soon. you would probably scream and cry and beg, like all the rest. you would see his mask, or his face, or the scars all over his body, and you would find him disgusting, just like all the rest.
but... there was a little voice in the back of his head. maybe you wouldn't. maybe you would be different. you had made it this far. the sound of your voice didn't hurt his ears.
he stood, making up his mind. if you screamed, if you saw him and panicked... he would kill you. but only then.
he tried to ignore how terrible the thought of killing you made him feel.

Yandere girlfriend x fem!reader
Warnings: yandere content/dark content, unhealthy relationships dynamics, power imbalances, reader is implied to be naive and sheltered, manipulation, gaslighting kinda, toxic-ish. DNI if you are a minor. Although this post doesn’t have nsfw themes, this is mature content.
Lucille first fell in love with you the second she laid her eyes one you. It was truly a magically moment for her. Going through the grocery store was always a bore for her. She never really appreciated the mundane things in life. Having been lost in her thoughts, her hand reached out to grab some apples. However, at the same time, your hand had been aimlessly grabbing items while marking stuff off your grocery list. With the two hands bumping into each other, Lucille felt an electric shock. A sharp zap that turned her grey and gloomy life into one with colour. Immediately you begin to apologise to her. However, all Lucille can do is stare at you in awe. Your wide, doe eyes. Your soft complexion and the pink tinge on your cheeks. You looked so beautiful. Her heart was beating faster than it had ever beaten before.
Has she come across an angel?
“Please, take them!!” You offered her the item in your hand. Oh your sweet and melodious voice. She took the apple from you hand, making sure your hands brushed one another again. Oh there her heart goes again. Her face flushed, not knowing what to do.
“Thank you… Have we met before?” She finally was able to get out of her lovesick trance.
-
From that day on, your lives have been intertwined. Whether it be by fate or by someone pulling the strings. An unhealthy infatuation began. Lucille did everything she could to make you both cross paths again. She befriended you. She acted as someone you could trust, someone you could tell your deepest secrets to. It was almost too good to be true. And too good to be true it was. Lucille had finally found something - no, someone to live for. Someone to take care of. Everything in your world all started to get brighter with her around yet also fall apart. Your friends no longer call you or hang out with you. Lucille made sure of that. She manipulated you into thinking they weren’t good enough and were bad influences.
Given that you were rather sheltered and naive. You clung to Lucille crying about how your friends don’t talk to you or how badly they have treated you. Lucille would merely coo at you whilst rubbing your back, giving you small but sweet palm kisses.
Whenever you both did make your relationship official, you could see a shift in her behaviour. She became more protective or should I say: possessive. Every little thing that threatened your relationship was carefully eliminated. That guy in the cafe that was eyeing you up? Gone. The bartender who was not so subtly flirting with you? What bartender? That one annoying friend that thinks your relationship is toxic? Moved away.
Lucille had perfectly found ways to isolate you from people and to get you to rely on her. She carefully crafted a meek, vulnerable darling. Of course you weren’t aware of this having your full trust on her. It was so adorable really.
One day, you came home rather distressed. You cried and cried for what seemed like hours until Lucille arrived. Seeing your red, puffy eyes, Lucille saw red. Who on earth hurt you? How dare they?
“Darling… What’s wrong?” She rushed over to your side. Quickly placing gently pecks on your head to soothe you. She rubbed circles on your back as you cried on her shoulder. Trying your best to calm down, only your sniffles being heard, you spoke: “These men were har-harassing me at w-work and they said these r-really awful things about what they wanted to do with m-me.” You hiccuped out the sentence. Lucille’s face hardened. How dare they make her sweet angel cry?
“Darling, tell me what are their names,” she demanded.
Needless to say she got you to quite your job and also got them fired. Turns out those men harassing you turned up missing on the news. Apparently they all left for a bar late at night and hadn’t return back home. You didn’t need to know what Lucille had done to them. You were too innocent and cute. The cries of the men that hurt you were like music to her ears. As they begged for mercy, Lucille cackled and struck the last blow. She made you completely rely on her. You didn’t need a job anyways. She will provide for you.
All you gotta do is be hers forever.
- umm there will be a continuation maybe
Kinda how I imagine her. Btw got this off picrew <3 much love to the creator hunbloom. 10/10 would recommended

Yandere Himbo X Disaster Reader X Yandere GirlBoss Headcanons (Including NSFW)
Tumblr media
•Himbo definitely notices you first. Your stumbling around the convenience store obviously frazzled and exhausted and he just wants to wrap you in his arms and carry you home with him so you can rest.
•He barely keeps his composure when you trip into him and immediately melt into his warmth. Poor thing couldn’t even keep them self upright. He asks if you’d like him to help you and from the way you only mumble a response and snore a bit he assumes it’s a yes.
•Himbo happily carries you home. He doesn’t quite know how to explain it to girlboss when she gets home but hopefully she’ll be just as in love with you as he is.
•She 100% is as in love with you as him if not more. How easily you nuzzle into her hand when she goes to brush your hair from your face.
•Girlboss absolutley insists on being the first one you see when you wake up. Himbo will just get too excited and ruin it all.
•Once you wake up girlboss is there holding aspirin and a glass of water to your mouth. She explains the situation before you can even ask. Assured you there’s nothing to be afraid of. They were just worried you’d be taken advantage of if they left you all alone in your previous state.
•With the calculated manipulation of girlboss and not so calculated manipulation from Himbo they manage to convince you to stay to rest some more. Himbo cooks you breakfast and gives you one of his shirts to wear. It dwarfs you and both yanderes love the way you look in it.
•Girlboss has her assistant dig into your life while she talks to you face to face. Willy breaking down your walls until you tell her exactly what had you pushing yourself so hard. Once she finds out then it’s all over for you.
•Suddenly your crappy job fires you and all your applications are rejected. You get evicted and your stuff is left on the curb.
•Luckily Himbo and girlboss are there to help you pick up the piece of your life. They offer to let you move in with them and assure you that you won’t need a job. Girlboss makes more than enough to take care of all of you.
•Left with no other real options you agree. The two try to take it slow and follow your lead but it’s just so hard.
•Girlboss can’t help bringing back expensive gifts and a personalized credit card for you. Can barely fight back the urge to lay her head on your chest while you card your fingers through her hair and make her forget all about her day.
•Himbo is even worse though. He’s always accidentally forgetting to wash your clothes so that you’ll have to wear his, misplacing your makeup because he thinks you look too cute bare faced. He’s always touching and smiling and looking at you. Glancing when he thinks you’re not looking or letting his finger tips graze your hand.
•Both simply want to worship and take care of you but in different ways.
NSFW Headcanons
Tumblr media
•Girlboss is a dom. Shes all about your pleasure for sure. She would never indulge any harmful/painful kinks even if you asked. She simply can’t imagine hurting you.
•Probably has a mommy kink. If you ever thanked her for taking good care of you and called her mommy at the same time she would literally have to reward you until you couldn’t walk.
•Into overstimulation. Wants to make you feel so good that all you can do is whimper and whine and squeeze her hand for support.
•Himbo is a sub. He wants to do whatever you want to do.
•Loves when you leave marks on him. He’ll proudly show off any bruises or hickeys or scratch marks. He’d even wear a collar if you wanted him too. He’d actually love it because it’d show the whole world that he belongs to you.
•He likes being tied up and completely at your mercy. Literally please use him as nothing but a tool for your pleasure. Like sit on his face for as long as you want, ride him while denying him his own release. All while he writhes against his binds but never once even thinks of asking you to stop.
•Girlboss likes to tie Himbo to a chair and make him watch while she takes care of you. Unable to touch you or even himself all he can do is watch and wish they could swap places. Girlboss teases the both of you the whole time. Him for missing out and you for how you react to Himbos predicament.
These are my first nsfw Headcanons so don’t judge them too harshly <3

Since the first post about it, I am now eternally rotating Yandere Town in my mind. Lately it’s imagining how the townspeople would react if the reader was a complete recluse. There’d be clandestine watchtowers in place with a view of the readers home, and any time they left people got some equivalent of an amber alert that their darling is out and about, so be on your best behavior! Everyone working double time to make every second count should they encounter the reader, tripping over themselves to try and make enough of an impression that they just might come out more often.
The more desperate folks get dressed in blue collar outfits and pass themselves off as inspectors who “just need to take a quick look around, make sure everything’s in order.” The reader is equal parts relieved that the town takes citizen safety so seriously and confused as to why five people have showed up in the last three days, not to mention that they seem more interested in chatting than doing any work. The local government cracks down on that pretty quickly, but a few people still slip through the cracks.
Once they all get some idea of what the reader enjoys, the events going on in town get weirdly specific. Checked out a lot of horror books at the library? Big horror movie night in the gym! Spotted shopping around the farmers market? Time for the local festival with plenty of fresh pies and homemade treats! Frequently stop by a certain restaurant? What do you know, they actually throw this big feast in town every year! Crazy how it just happens to fall on the readers birthday, huh? They wouldn’t want to miss it, would they?
And since I’m a big fan of darlings who can read between the lines, the reader catching on that people are acting weird and leaving the house even less than they did when they first arrived, and turning away any unexpected visitors, even if they really are there to check on the house. Unrest sweeping through the streets because nobody’s seen them for the past month, and the leaders have to resort to drastic measures to keep the peace. The fireman chalk up the destruction of the readers entire house to be a horrible case of flawed wiring, they really should’ve let someone check that out. Nowhere to stay? Don’t be silly! Anyone in town would be happy to take them in until they have somewhere new to stay. It’s a close knit town, so expect plenty of guests! Surely the reader won’t mind, they can’t dictate such things in someone else’s home, right? :)
(Apologies for the long-ish ask, it’s just been rotting my brain and I needed to get it all out of my system. Love the stories, love you, have a wonderful day.)
YES YES YES!!! You have reached into my mind and took my exact thoughts to the point where I don't actually have much to add to this.
I definitely think being a recluse would lead to more yanderes invading your privacy, ironically enough. If they can't come in for inspections, your "neighbors" offer to renovate and maintain your home. New paint, gardening, one of them even offered to start digging a hole in your backyard to put in a pool (no ulterior motives here! they totally aren't hoping to catch you in a bathing suit on the dozens of cameras surrounding your house). While you may be missing some things and you're pretty sure you have less locks on your windows now, you can't deny how much nicer the house looks. Hopefully you don't get too attached because, like you said, something bad may happen if you spend too much time inside. They won't resort to burning it down unless they're really desperate. Most of the time, a burst sewer line or power outage is enough. Maybe the utility company will shut off your water, forcing you to stay at a friend's for a while.
Never apologize for long asks! It's a genuine delight to see how excited people get about my writing <3
