Google Calendar, new feature announcement
I like how this modal title starts with an action/power word, and incorporates its value up front (to make scheduling easier)
The description not only solidifies the value to you (let others know...), but also in relation to others (to make it easier for them to schedule time with you)
Select a default - Hint text: I like how they let you know up front that you can modify certain settings anytime, to help manage expectations
Office/Home/Multiple locations - Hint text: I appreciate how they chose to use a conversational tone, to get in the head of the user ("I work from the office Mondays...")

15Five, in-product feature enhancement announcement
I like how they include the value add of this feature enhancement (so you'll never have to manually create your next agenda again) which reflects a level of self-awareness on the brand's part
I like how the CTA is Go to 1-on-1s, keeping it in-context (rather than something generic which I sometimes see on other products, such as 'Try it now' / 'Take me there'
Tone-wise, I definitely got a strong sense of how excited they are, though, I probably would've taken it down a notch (maybe lose an exclamation point or limit to just 1 ta-da emoji instead of 3 (ugh I know, am I even a Millennial for suggesting this?)

Bamboo HR, auto log out during session. Most automated events display a robotic message, but this one humanizes it as well as reinforces the benefit of safety and security. It also proactively answers the question, “will I be able to resume where I left off upon logging back in?” Nicely done.

SoundCloud, Premium promotional banner. I love me a good contextually relevant heading to pair well with sub copy. I found this one to be pretty cute!

Dovetail, onboarding. I can’t help but love it when an app makes you feel good about yourself during the process of onboarding. Stop making me blush, Dovetail! 😊

InVision, requesting permission to access. What I like about this is how conversational and complete this message is. It makes it very clear what the user needs to do in order to gain the access they desire. Plus, they take it a step further by being very explicit around what will happen precisely if and when they gain access, managing the user’s expectations very well.

Happy first Monday / day back to work of 2021! Off to a great start...
With Slack down first thing in the morning, my natural inclination was to monitor their Twitter feed as well as their up-to-date status page.
What I can appreciate about the language used on their status page is how human readable it is. Often I’m used to seeing highly technical systematic jibberish that might mean more to tech savvy folks or developers but don’t mean much to me. Here, you can see layman’s terms and accessible easy-to-digest language being used. Nice one, Slack.
Here’s to more uptime in 2021 :)

🐷 There are so many great things happening here:
- a huge hi-res photo of bacon; straightforward product placement without the BS
- ‘Bacon on Board’ play on words
- hilarious peer-to-peer dialogue to showcase social proof and to establish trust

Don’t you love it when apps just *get* you? Love the empathetic language used by Skillshare. This is also one of the more appealing notification opt-ins I’ve seen.
