And whilst the Royal Family wave from a balcony that they do not have to pay for, a child is excited that their parent has let them take the bus rather than walk home because neither of them feel well, as that is how bad the living crisis has gotten.

Long live our noble Queen!

And as the banners and bunting go up in windows across the country, another person exits their home with the fear that they are going to be told they do not belong in this country that is built on the blood of their ancestors (eventually that fear will be proven to be valid and real rather than an exaggeration or intrusive thought.)

God save the Queen!

And whilst the people being interviewed on the news about how wonderful it is that their monarch is able to attend the events being held in her honour, another person is dreaming of the life they would have had if the atrocities of many years ago had never happened.

And as the news rants and rave about the celebrations that will be occurring to mark this landmark event, somebody else hears the shouting in the streets grow more violent and more aggressive and they hope everybody is able to stay safe because there is a darker side to these events that nobody wants to confront but everyone can see.

And whilst her children and her grandchildren and their future children grow up in a world where everything is handed to them, simply because of the family they were born into, students up and down the country are battling their postcodes and the names of their schools to have a chance at attending university.

Long to reign over us,

And as the Commonwealth games come and go for another year along with the idea that the British Empire provided benefits and fairness, the textbooks debate how genocide should be taught as a group of teenagers learn about the inhumane ways the people whose traditions should have been passed down to them were treated.

 God save the Queen.

And whilst she enjoys all the parties being thrown for something that doesn’t need to be celebrated since it was all a matter of luck and there are still so many people waiting for an apology, the government- led by a man she has the power to dismiss- are rewriting the rules so they can avoid taking accountability and succeeding in their attempts to restrict the human rights of their citizens as the people with the power to stop them do nothing.

May she defend our laws /  And ever give us cause / To sing with heart and voice / God save the Queen.

Remember what the monarchy serve as a constant reminder of: with money that’s not really yours, you can get away with anything. Remember the power they hold. Remember that a demand for an apology is not political. Remember the pain their predecessors caused that they have never once challenged and continue to benefit from. Remember somebody in your life is paying the price for an empire that should never have been created.

Writing Advice

When I read fanfiction with a polyamorous relationship in it it's always the same kind of relationship, 3 people all dating each other which is perfectly fine but there are other types of polyamorous relationships out there, so if you're a writer and you want to write a poly couple or even couples this is for you!

And to demonstrate I'll be using Bravo Team and company.

1.

'V'

This is a relationship where 1 person is dating 2 people who are not sexually or romantically involved with each other, so for example

Sonny could be dating Lisa and Clay but Lisa and Clay are not dating each other, so if you were to draw a line it would make a V.

2.

Triad

This is a relationship between 3 people who are all romantically or sexually involved with each other.

So for example Trent, Brock, and Full Metal would all be dating each other, so if you drew a line it would make a triangle.

Quad

This is a relationship where 4 people are all romantically or sexually connected with each other.

This could be 2 primary couple connecting or adding another partner to a triad.

For anyone who's confused at what I mean at 'Primary couple', what I mean is two existing relationships before the quad was formed, like if Jason and Alana met Ray and Naima and they started a quad Jason and Alana and Ray and Naima would be primary couples because those are the pairs who were dating or in this case married before the relationship was formed.

A common example of a quad is two poly couple meet and each person begins dating someone from the other couple.

Ex.

Jason, Ray and Naima start dating and Alana starts to also date Ray but Naima is only into guys so she doesn't want to date Alana and considers her a metamor.

Remember not all Quads look like this, this is just an example!

Full Quad

A full quad is just like a triad but with 4 people, this means all four people are romantically or sexually involved with each other.

So for example Sonny, Brock, Trent, and Clay could all be dating each other so if you drew lines it would make a box with an X through it.

Polycule

A polycule is a whole network of relationships of people who are romantically connected with each other.

It's hard to draw something like this so you'll have to bear with me here.

An example of a polycule could be Ray and Naima are married but Naima has a boyfriend but this boyfriend has a husband and the husband has a boyfriend also and then on Ray's side he's got a girlfriend and a boyfriend who are not dating each other but that girlfriend she has a wife and another boyfriend and so on.

As you can see in the paragraph above a lot of people are connected romantically, so when you think of a polycule think of a drawing that shows all the links.

Remember that not all polycule's look like this! This is just an example!

Hierarchical Polyamory

Hierarchical polyamory places more importance on one relationship over the other relationships in the polycule.

The primary partner is often the partner they are married to, share finances with, lives with or has kids with.

Primary partners will prioritize each other when making decisions and commitments.

An example of this would be if Jason and Alana were in a polycule they would prioritize each other in decisions and commitments because they're each others primary partner.

Non-hierarchical Polyamory

This is the opposite of a Hierarchical Polyamory.

This kind of polyamory means no one is prioritized over anyone else no matter who is living with who or who has been together longest.

Solo Polyamory

Solo Polyamory is where someone has multiple intimate relationships but they live a independent or single lifestyle, they may not share finances, live with partners or have a desire to reach traditional relationship milestone where their life would become more intertwined with their partners.

Someone could have also just come out of a serious relationship and practices solo polyamory for a while, this mean they do not have a partner but still identify as polyamorous.

Sometime people practice Solo Polyamory due to circumstances.

Kitchen Table Polyamory

Kitchen table polyamory focus on the family vibes of a polycule, all member gather for family events and provide communal support.

Not everyone may be sexually or romantically involved with each other but they all feel comfortable to hang out with each other.

If your confused when I say 'family gatherings' think of it like Bravo Team's family barbecue's.

Parallel Polyamory

Parallel Polyamory is where members aren't interested in being emotionally involved with other polycule member besides their own partner(s).

Mono-Poly Relationships

The title is pretty much tells it's self but I'll tell you any way.

Mono-Poly relationships are where one person is monogamous (They are only interested in being involved with one person at a time) and the other is Polyamorous.

Here are some terms you could use when writing polyamorous characters and relationships!

Metamour

A metamour is your partner's partner, for example your girlfriend's girlfriend or your partner's boyfriends.

Paramour

A paramour is an outside member of a marriage, for example your husband's boyfriend or your wife's boyfriend.

Compersion

It's sometime called the 'Opposite of jealousy' it's a feeling of joy someone gets from seeing their partner happy with another person.
