Guys.
Who gave everyone in Nod Krai permission to be so hot or adorable!?
WHO!?
WHO DID THAT!?
I'm not financially or emotionally ready to try pulling for these people!!! I want almost everyone!!
Varka and Flins better be 5 stars because they are too hot and too cool not to be. I should not be simping for both of them so hard they're not even playable yet but I am.
I can see Durin being a 5 or 4 star and I'd be okay with either cause he's so adorable. That's my son. I love him.
Alice is gorgeous!! Again, she better be a 5 star. She's too awesome, chaotic and pretty not to be.
Nicole, Columbina and Lumuria (idk how to spell her name the Frostmoon Saiyons priestess deer lady) are all so ethereal and amazing. Columbina at minimum needs to be a five star 'Cause she's like Nod Krai's Archon figure but with Nicole and Deer lady it's a toss up on 4 or 5 star and either or is fine for me.
Sandrine seems pretty cool but I'm honestly not sure if she'll be playable or not.
And I don't care about everyone else. They look cool. And are pretty and adorable, they just haven't intrigued me yet.
I'm not pulling for Ineffa - so they better not make her Flins best support like they did with Kinich and Emile - because I will crash out. I am ABSOLUTLY pulling for Flins but skipping pulling in 5.8 to save for everyone I want in Nod Krai because it's like half the character roster.
I have 102 wishes and a dream guys pray for me please.
How much money is this game going to make me spend to get all these charecters?????

im in disbelief at the fact that a lot of folks are simply over palestine. like protests are dwindling down. people are not very interested in news related to gaza. some are simply over it.
israel hasn't let aid in gaza in 70 days. gaza has been starving for 70 days. the condition of people there is horrendous.
i find it distressing to think about children in gaza. how does one continue to have a childhood in a genocide? they don't have school. they don't have safety. they don't have food.
despite all this, the kids will be alright. they'll be alright once the genocide stops and they get back to 'normal'. till then, can we please try to support them however we can?
this fundraiser (verified) helps feed a family which includes two young children. please consider helping their mother take care of them.

Guys I am so freaking late to catch the Arcane hype train but omg--
I love this show.
Just watched the first 3 episodes today.
Episode 1's opening was haunting and beautiful and so intense I loved it. The colors in this show are gorgeous. All of the emotions hit so hard. The music slaps - it's emotional the song "Playground" they used to introduce the lanes was so perfect to set the tone. The voice acting and sound design - I love it - it makes my ears happy. The intense a dark themes and vibes are so good! And Zaun's aesthetic and the whole vibe of the lanes are super cool. Piltover is neat too ig. But I like Zaun more.
This show does not shy away from death and blood. Or from darkness. The scene where Vander gets taken by Slico and Grayson dies gave me chills. Literally every second of episode 3 had me on the edge of my seat. The ending made me so sad.
Vi is amazing and a badass, I love her.
Powder is a sweetheart and deserves a hug.
Vander is cool.
Clagger and Milo were fun - RIP.
Joyce and Viktor are gay I can feel it in my bones.
Mel is a Queen and I love her.
Caitlin seems nice
Rip Grayson you seemed like the only reasonable enforcer.
Since I hope you fall into a pit of venomous Sankes.
Okay that's all my rambles for now. I'll keep you guys posted on my Arcane journey.

putting some thoughts down that have been rattling in my head since i've been playing the kpop demon hunters soundtrack non-stop and also watching the clips related to the songs and various reaction videos and also trying to figure out some worldbuilding details for when i maybe write fic (i will probably write fic lbr)
i'll focus on the songs that actually showed up and wer seung by characters in the movie proper and then how they play into worldbuilding and my theories on it
How It's Done - perfect introduction and battle song, it's so hype, i love it. honestly, i think it's probably the typical style for the songs huntrix puts out in-universe. there's a mostly even distribution of lines between the girls too, which shows how much they are in sync during this song in particular. it is also a great song for the honmoon - "singing songs of courage and hope" when this song's thesis is basically 'we're the best and that's why we CAN and WILL kick your ass'
Jinu's Lament - not much to say other than also perfect intro for jinu. wrote a song literally mocking the guy who owns his soul. the fucking audacity of this man, i love him. there's this sort of... i don't want to say toxicity but maybe negativity is in all his songs tbh, but i'll get into that. it's definitely manipulative and self-serving as almost all his songs are
Golden - i adore this song and was originally very strongly drawn to this one and it took me a while to figure out why - this is the 'i want' song of kpop demon hunters disguised as a triumphant victory song for huntrix as a whole. rumi wants the golden honmoon to happen so so so badly, because she sees it as her ticket to finally being able to live as the person she wants to be - human, without fear and without having to hide and able to be close to her friends. zoey and mira want the golden honmoon too but not nearly as badly rumi does, which is shown by most of the lines of the song being rumi's - it makes sense in a way why this song was marketed as huntrix's story despite almost all the lines being rumi's because huntrix was built around rumi by celine and their shared goal of obtaining the golden honmoon. rumi's desperation to fulfill her life's goal unintentionally leads huntrix to disaster - rumi releases the song when they were supposed to be on break, which leads to her losing her voice due to stress, which leads to the cancelled concert, which leads to giving an opening for the saja boys to swoop in with their debut and steal huntrix's fans, which leads to the honmoon faltering. in fact, i would argue that this song is directly the reason why the takedown scene happens in the movie - again, almost all the lines are rumi's because this is supposed to be rumi's entire life's work coming to fruition and her finally being able to live freely. and that means rumi was alone on stage for a good bit of time singing her parts while mira and zoey were off stage, which led to the whole lure-away-and-switch-with-demons plan. if Golden had the same line distribution as How It's Done, there's no way the demons' plan would have been feasible as mira and zoey would have needed to stay on stage to sing their parts. rumi kept doing things on her own while being driven and blinded by her fear, which directly leads to her being on her own and her fall deeper into demonhood
Soda Pop - i...actually really unironically like this song. reminds me of seventeen, which is the only kpop boy band i've listened to more than once. BUT ANYWAY this is another jinu song, which means it has an agenda - jinu and the other demons want to slurp up the kpop fans' souls and they will act as hot and cutesy and approachable as they need to. it's also the perfect debut song for a boy band, making them look all innocent and fresh and attractive/approachable. the song itself is catchy and fun and easily meme'd to hell and back (literally lmao). it's actually a brilliantly calculated move on jinu's part, i love how much effort he put into this demon boy band plan of his lol. the lyrics do unintentionally give a weird unhealthy undertone to it....just like soda pop lol. there was a therapist reacting to it on youtube and he immediately clocked into the co-dependency vibes of "i need you to need me" despite enjoying the song a lot and not having watched the movie yet at all. great song to move the plot along
Free - i always think i somehow switched to listening to the blue prince soundtrack when i first hear this song lol. anyway, this is the one and only song rumi and jinu sing together - that any human and demon sing together in the movie - and it's especially significant because this is the first song in the movie where there's no facade or mask or certain image that needs to be put up by the singers. rumi isn't trying to look strong and flawless - she opens up to jinu and honestly tells him how she's been feeling and struggling. jinu doesn't mock rumi for this or manipulate her for his own ends - he returns rumi's honesty with his own raw feelings and struggles, probably for the first time in centuries. they bond and take comfort over how imperfect they are and how constrained and trapped they feel by their lives. they reach out and connect with each other. it's very bittersweet because while this is probably the highest and best point in their relationship in the film, it's not the healthiest dynamic (it's a jinu song after all lol). it, again, has a weird co-dependent vibe - i believe someone on tumblr described it as two teenagers sneaking out together in a secret relationship and feeling like only they could understand each other. this is not a healthy or sustainable dynamic for any relationship, but i think it was something they could have grown past if rumi and jinu had the time and space to do so. alas.
Takedown - this song is so fascinating to me. at first blush, it sounds similar to How It's Done but it's core is the polar opposite. if How It's Done's thesis is 'we're beating you because we're the best of the best', Takedown is 'we're going to KILL you because you are the WORST and you deserve to DIE'. it's actually a bit shocking how violent and hateful the lyrics of the full song are, even compared to How It's Done and in kid's media generally - i'm so used to euphamisms and silence when it comes to death in kid's media these days, but this movie doesn't shy away at all. while the movie does use shorter versions of the full songs, this is the only song that's never played even the shortened version all the way through and is repeatedly interrupted. and it's clear why. zoey even says it herself, this song can't bring huntrix together. it's also a terrible song for the honmoon. if How It's Done is courage and Golden is hope, then Takedown is solely focused on hate. their hate for demons, and uncomfortably, rumi's self-hatred, and her fear of mira and zoey's hatred manifest. she can't even bring herself to tell them why she doesn't like or want to do the song, even though SHE'S the one who came up with concept in the first place. the song drives a wedge between the group, just like all of the lies and walls between them do. the demons use this song to effectively break rumi right before she reaches her goal of the golden honmoon. the look on her face when her body immediately falls into muscle memory and starts dancing to Takedown is actually haunting. she's blank with panic. it's completely fitting that this song directly leads to huntrix breaking up, rumi spiralling and reaching peak demonic, and the honmoon ripping apart.
Your Idol - oooooh my god, i have not loved a villain song this much since 'we don't talk about bruno' (yes, i am going to call it a villain song because the villain in encanto was def toxic family dynamics lol). i'm actually a little disappointed the full song wasn't used in the movie because it really emphasizes how negative and unhealthy the dynamic being depicted in this song is. keep all your pain bottled up and seek sanctuary in someone who will manipulate and use you...peak villainy. it strips away the mask from Soda Pop and show the true horror lurking underneath. jinu is peak problematic here along with the other demons - they're revelling in their own victory lap and hypnotizing the masses, and watching their plans coming to fruition. ALL the saja boys (except jinu) only show happiness and glee at being pure evil through out the song - it might be a performance but i think it's genuine joy. they finally get to be feral again lol. i also think this song is a dark mirror of 'Free' - you're honestly confiding to someone, and only that someone, about your worries and fears...and they take advantage. because you're alone and don't feel like you can reach out to anyone but the demon that's doing his level best to seduce you into giving up more than you bargained for. you're alone, so you fall into the temptation of oblivion. manipulative to its fucking core, holy shit
What It Sounds Like - i literally can't not tear up when hearing this song. right after the lowest point of the film, right after the most negative and blantantly evil song of the film, right after RUMI TRIED TO COMMIT SUICIDE VIA CELINE, comes the most honest, raw, unflinchingly courageous and hopeful song of the entire film for the showstopping finale. it's a culmination of the film's entire message, of rumi clawing her way back out from the darkness and pulling herself into the light with the support of her friends. it's the acknowledgment that we are human and we are flawed and we are broken but that doesn't mean we can't live on. we can live our truth and we can live freely and happily with the help of our loved ones and our community and we are never as alone as you think. and it makes perfect sense you can hear snippets of Golden in the background of this song - the idea and the goal of the golden honmoon breaks apart because rumi's want (and mira and zoey's want, to a lesser extent) in Golden isn't truly the golden honmoon but what it represented - being able to accept herself as she was and live freely without walls between her and her friends. rumi breaks it with her own hands because she sees how this ideal almost destroyed her and the world in turn and used the pieces to build something better together with her friends and her community - the rainbow honmoon (or that's what i'm calling it anyway). she built a world where she can be herself, scars and all. i truly think seeing this in rumi and have it be threatened by gwi-ma is what prompts jinu to do his first selfless act in probably his entire life.....like. augh. how can you not want to support that?
anyway, that's my rundown of the songs. mira and zoey don't get as much focus on this since i'm trying to really think about how the songs fit into the overall narrative and the worldbuilding
it's not really explained in the movie what the source of the hunters' powers. yes, they are born with voices that can call on the power of people's souls to weave the honmoon, but what's source of THAT power? is it some kind of divine force or are people really just born with it? how innate is it? can it be trained like a muscle? how do the demons come into play in all this? this might just be a common aspect of korean mythology i don't know because i haven't looked into it deeply
all this to say: i think every song listed above is, unlike most musicals, completely sung in universe. yes, even Free. there's no way rumi, mira, and zoey could come up with What It Sounds Like spontaneously AND have the crowd chant along with it to superboost it and put down the big bad without supernatural assistance. i think this was probably triggered by their music-based powers reacting to their honesty. and i think the same thing happened during Free - we KNOW jinu got his voice magically and there was definitely some magic going on in the lead up and during Your Idol to get people into the arena and gather their souls. i think them being honest triggered their music powers off each other. it's like in enchanted where you can spontaneously be pulled into giselle's musical numbers and it's not some metatextual song conveying events or the characters' thoughts - it's a real song that is being sung out loud in the real world.
i've spent way too long on this, but it's just fun to think about. also ao3 was down lol

As a writer when I tell you I put EVERY song from Kpop Demon Hunters into the Playlist I put on when writing SO FAST after watching that movie.....
I'm not joking.
It was immediate once I finished the film a week ago.
Since then the KDH soundtrack has been playing on loop in my room and I'm still not sick of it.

The way my soul would have left my body so fast if I saw 'Your Idol' live.
I would have happily given my soul to the hot Demon boyband.
But seriously though - who gave the Saja Boys the right to be that hot!? It's not fair. Demons being attractive is like a kyptonite to me I swear.
And both their songs are awesome!
Take notes Disney - THAT is how you write villians.

Zoey in KDH is such a vibe. I love her sm.
She's simultaneously a massive dork, the sweetest person ever and absolutely Vicious.
She gets a good look at the face of the Demon boy she's been simping for all movie and immediately is like "Your just my type!! Oh wElL!" And slices him to pieces.
What an icon.
I love her.
Zoey deserves more love.
