When I read a fanfic I like, the author becomes a mini celebrity to me. So when an author with a work I like kudos’ or comments on my own fanfic I just-

Me, following my own tutorial instructions because I forgot how I was doing these

She’s SO pretty, oh my gosh. I tried a few different color schemes for her too, and I did like a light cape with a dark dress, but decided the contrast with the dark leather skirt over a light dress was too good to pass up. As always, this was drawn by @vagueandominousvibes (here) and simply colored by me :)

As someone who knows several Zelda designs pretty well (two and a half cosplays), it was very cool to see some of those design elements echoed here! I noticed the leaf designs on her crown, her bracers, the stripe on her dress, the gold necklace thingies, and even the cape. It’s fantastic

Knights’ Lodge AU, anyone?

It’s been a while, but finally we’ve got a design for the Princess! She’s been the most challenging one so far, because how do you convey “light” as a power, while differentiating it from the other characters and retaining the cultural vibe this AU has had so far?

I knew I didn’t want the stereotypical Princess Zelda outfit for her, because I wanted her to come across as a fighter on par with the guys. But I also wanted to emphasise that she’s primarily a magic user. Then I drew the ponytail and for whatever reason it made me think of Greco-Roman goddesses, particularly Artemis. Which, I suppose, is rather fitting considering Zelda’s connection to Hylia.

This Princess is a tanned red-head. When she’s not hero-ing, she studies and does competitive swimming, and is on her uni’s swimming team. She’s far-sighted and has to wear reading glasses. Her colour theme is primarily in the white-to-merlot range (leathers being a compatible shade of brown), with golden accessories. After much thought, I’ve decided that her staff is not only a conduit for magic, but can also change into different weapons. Her bracers can transform into shields at will.

Not sure what the triforce pendant does yet, so it’ll be fun to find out!
