“One man’s food is another man’s poison!” I heard this for the first time as a kid, from my grandad who always reiterated about our personal tastes and preferences and our free will at the dinner table. Over the last 2 years, this proverb has been dreadful in it’s literal sense for me. Foods I loved stopped being healthy for me. All the nagging about eat your greens, eat your veggies, they are good for you, finally influenced me, the old me, to love a few, like a few, and tolerate the rest because they were considered healthy food. But over these 2 years, these same healthy foods reversed their role and caused my immune system to go on overdrive mode. There came a point in all this chaos where, the tap water in my place in France was no longer something that “I” could not only drink(all my colocs could) but also wash and bath in because of it’s mineral composition. I had to take drastic steps and make very strict and difficult choices. My cost of living went up because I had to get bottled and canned water and stopped eating most types of food in order to control and reduce my IgE levels that indicated that my immune system had gone bonkers. So, long story short these were the only ingredients apart from having chicken once or twice a week, and non-citric fruits that had me hanging in there long enough to graduate 👩🏻‍🎓 I said bye to everything gluten, everything lactose, a few veggies, eggs, even most legumes, lentils and nuts. What else is left in the list of foods that I can eat that’s not going to kill?Finding what was HEALTHY FOR ME was stressful, involved several emotional breakdowns, introduced me to insomnia and it’s package/baggage by extension, and leaving my dermatologists, neurologist, immunologists, nutritionists, dieticians spellbound and my sitting in their office with a silly, uncomfortable and helpless smile. What used to be IgE 1500+ is now 500+. I still have a long way to go. Maintaining this is a huge challenge for me everyday. If you happen to notice that I am struggling with deciding what to choose from the menu, I think that I am being too picky, think again. “One man’s food is another man’s poison”, literally! Swan: Yes, if you look to your right, this café is very popular and you should try “les frites et des gaufres, c’est très délicieux!”
Tourist (All of them): Definitely! Can you stop? We want to take pictures!
Swam: Come on people! This water doesn’t stop for anyone. Just go with the flow!

First, I pre-order a copy when I get his mail, get super excited about getting it, then thanks to the pandemic, things changed. So, I waited, hoping his team will figure things out soon. Finally, this morning it arrived, even though I was still sleeping and it was my mom that received it.🙇🏻‍♀️ Should I wait to finish my current reading pile and then start on this book? After all that waiting and hype( come on) so, I just began reading it.😉 I finished the Introduction(small steps) and all I could hear is @jayshetty voice in my head while I was reading it the entire time. Where did my reading mind-voice go?🕵🏻 Anyways, let the journey begin! #thinklikeamonk #trainyourmindforpeaceandpurposeveryday #jayshetty #positivity #power #selflove #selfdiscovery #love #compassion #lovingkindness #purpose #harperathome #bookstagram #reading #bookstagramindia #hapercollins #harpercollinsindia #letthejourneybegin (at Bangalore, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CE_cuVWF7GJtlL1MmKxpRyZbRRSHKx0cdf17SE0/?igshid=1umrdppcnlnpx
