HE ™ pinched a brow at the screen. “is it lagging? well, pretty sure service sucks right here, but we’re almost at the store, it’s fine.” rafe told the chat that was going crazy about the stream lagging and missing what rafe was saying.

wasn’t his first time being in public with a camera, talking to it. not his last. after his viewers took the poll about what rafe would be doing on the irl stream, going to the mall won. he planned on just walking around and shopping, but when one user brought up popmart, everyone else agreed that he should get a blind box.

rafe, not too familiar with the subject, asked what’s the best to get. his chat wasn’t too helpful, either saying different answers or telling him to just get what he liked. either way, he’d do whatever to make his viewers happy.

he was a few feet from the store when someone approached him, asking for a picture. after taking it, he took a look at his chat.

rafe pulled a blank face at the last comment. “someone ban that guy for misspelling tough.” he told his mods. weird comments like that rafe usually ignored, but when he felt like it, he got his moderators to ban the user either for a while or indefinitely from his chat. he doesn’t need that negativity in his community.

rafe stepped inside popmart, looking around. “gosh, it’s pink and bright.” he spotted some characters he recognized. he turned the camera, pointing it at a giant figure. “is that a purple hello kitty?” he asked the viewers. he read the responses. “what is a kuromi? guys, i don’t know anyone.” he defended himself when they started attacking him for not knowing the sanrio character.

he turned the camera back to himself. “okay, what do i get? there’s so many options. i see these huge figures, don’t think i need those. .” he read the chat.

“ask someone? ’kay.” he turned to spot someone. he saw a girl frowning at two boxes in her hands. he smiled at her adorable confusion. “i’ll go ask her.” he made his way towards the girl.

“did they just speak to you? i would be confused too.” you slightly startled, turning to the voice. you were looking at a blonde guy with a camera held near his face. and rafe was looking at a girl he’s so glad he just walked up to.

a soft smile pulled at the corner of your lips. “i wish. then maybe one of them could tell me which one to get.” you twisted your lips, looking to the boxes instead of the boy. it wasn’t the camera that was making you nervous. just his presence.

“what’s the difference?” rafe angled the camera down to put you out of view. he looked over your shoulder, your heights making it easy for him to see. you held the one in your right hand closer. “this one contains a rare, but it’s only a slight possibility i’ll get it.” you held up the one in your left hand. “this one is a collection i’ve been wanting. .” you trailed off.

yeah, rafe had no clue what you were talking about. “i’m actually new to this. .” you turned your head to him, excited. and rafe saw it. “i think you’re the perfect girl to explain to me what any of that means.”

you bit down a smile. “maybe. .” you turned to him fully. “what are you thinking of getting?”

rafe was so enraptured, staring at you and your giddiness to explain the world of trinkets, he didn’t notice the chat going crazy.

rafe shrugged, glancing around. “what do you like?” he peered into your eyes as he said it. you suddenly forgot everything you’ve ever liked.

you walked over to some boxes with cool looking figures surrounding them, showing what’s in the boxes. “i really like these,” you pointed. “they’re the ones i was actually deciding about.” then you turned, pointing at another set.

“but these are really popular. i. . i don’t know. i guess it’s just whatever looks nice to you.” you were slightly failing at keeping it cool.

rafe looked to the ones you said you liked. “those are sick. what are they called?” he picked up a box, showing it to the camera. you noticed, picking up another box, and handing it to him to show the camera. “they’re skull pandas. what do you think?”

rafe was stumped at you giving him a box to show his viewers. not only haven’t you mentioned the camera, but you were helping him give his viewers good content. and they noticed.

“yeah, i like them. i think i also like ones that look creepy? i like things that look weird, i don’t know. .” rafe went to grab two when you held out the basket you were holding for him to drop them into. rafe took notice of that as well. were you this nice to everyone or was rafe special? he actually doesn’t care, he just loves the attention you’re giving him.

“me too!” you spoke a little louder than you meant to. you scrunched your face in a silent wince, rafe chuckling softly at you. were you not able to speak about your interests? okay, well, that’s coming to a stop.

“yeah? what’s the weirdest thing you like?” rafe continued walking around with you at his side, you two falling into step easily, only having known each other for a few minutes.

you giggled at the last thing he said. “oh! i know this collection that i think you would like. .” you held up your index finger then scurried off to find the section.

rafe watched you go, then when he couldn’t strain his neck anymore, looked down to his chat. “i’m about to buy this entire store for this girl. .”

you scrunched your nose, sticking out the boxes. you’d end up babbling if you tried to respond to that.

The animation project for my uni course is sucking the joy out of everything right now. I understand why character sheets are needed but the rest of this is so useless.

I am wasting so much time right now on useless arbitrary nonsense because the specification demands it while we are over half way through the semester and haven't even started 3D modelling and the lecturer won't show up for more than 20 minutes a week. She says the internet is too bad but she's at a college building and it seems she is giving her in person students way more attention.

There is no way this project gets done by the end of semester based on the timeline she is currently on. And we wasted two weeks at the start because the college wasn't even set up to teach online. And I have other subjects to work on, not just this one.

Luke’s eyes widen. “Gross.”

Quinn stands up. “Okay. Calm down.”

“Calm down?! You MARRIED my BEST FRIEND!”

“She’s more than that now.”

You both freeze.

Luke blinks. “What?”

Quinn looks at you. Then back at Luke.

“I’m not undoing it.”

Luke stares at him.

“Quinn.”

“She makes me happy.”

You press your lips together to hide the smile.

Luke rubs his temples. “I need to lie down. I need to lie down forever.”

You get off the bed slowly and walk over. “Look… we’re sorry. We didn’t mean for it to happen. But it did. And honestly? I’m not mad about it.”

Luke stares at you. “Are you in love with him?!”

You pause.

Then say quietly, “I think I might be.”

Luke makes a sound like a dying animal and walks straight into the bathroom.

The door slams.

Silence.

You turn to Quinn. “So… that went well.”

Quinn grins. “Could’ve been worse.”

You arch a brow. “How?”

He leans in and kisses you. “He could’ve walked in during last night.”

Does Yana have any part in making of the novels and manga and soon to be anime? Since she doesn't seem to have much say on the game...

Hello hello! Thank you for this question!

It is possible that Yana might have very much say on the game 👀

Inside the app itself she is credited as the creator of the game's concept, the main scenario creator, the character designer and the creative director for everything overall.

In a 2020 interview she said:

“I create the scenarios and I write the main story. I am also in charge of drafting, writing, and directing the events and vignettes. On the graphics side I do all of the character design including designing the chibis, all the card illustrations and designs for the props and backgrounds.”

She also explains how she went into her initial meeting with Disney expecting to only do the character designs, but in the end was made responsible for the basis of the entire game.

She is also the creator of the plot of the main story and wrote the lessons in dialogue, on the home screen and when leveling (together with a writer from her personal studio).

She is so involved that she even writes notes to the voice actors and the sound director, influencing the vocal performances, and has approved the English-language localization of the unique magics.

And she has so much say that she retracted Riddle's original, Disney-approved design (which was also of her own creation) in favor of the Riddle that we have today! ^^

Much of this information is from the game's release (the "notes from Yana to the VAs" information is recent) and now, five years on, there is sometimes curiosity about how much Yana remains involved.

She provides us with regular updates on her involvement, with one of the more recent being how she is still in charge of the main story.

Getting into details all in one post will be very long, so here is a compilation of similar asks for reference!

The Novels

Yana says she was in charge of the concept, the in-novel art, cover and fold-out art in the novels, while Hioki Jun (a Twst vignette/event scenario writer) is the author. 

The Manga

The artist and designer behind the 1st and 3rd comic arcs are both from Yana’s studio D-6th, doing background and card art for Twst.

Yana says that her role is overall collaboration, character design and character creation (she says that in addition to creating the basis for Trey’s parents she also designed Riddle’s mother, including her face, but they ultimately left her in silhouette).

It is difficult to tell what Yana means by “overall collaboration," but she has shared a tweet about drawing the characters out herself for the official artists to base their work on.

(This might not apply to the artists of the Savanaclaw or Scarabia arcs, who are not Yana's personal employees.)

The Anime

There was some curiosity after the announcement of the anime, with Yana commenting that she was surprised to hear that it is going to be based on the manga and she is looking forward to what it is going to be like, insinuating that she did not make that decision herself and may not be involved at all.

And the anime's first, original announcement? It credits Yana as the creator of the game, but does not list her as a member of the team behind the anime.

In a different series of tweets from early 2024, she provided more detail about how it is normal for her to not be involved in adaptations of her own work, saying she lets other creators do what they like with adaptations of her work where she is the copyright holder.

And with works outside of Kuroshitsuji, where she is not the copyright holder, she has even less influence in adaptations, saying that she will often not even know what adaptations are being planned and sometimes she is not approached for help. As Disney holds the copyright for Twst, that is possibly what happened here!

To put everything together, the game seems to be where Yana might have the most influence out of every iteration of Twst, even five years on.

She also seems to have some influence in the Heartslabyul and Octavinelle arcs of the manga, but this might be an unusual arrangement made possible by how the official artist and layout designer are also both her own employees.

She might have the least (if any) amount of influence on the anime, but that is also where we have the least information :>

this summer is a hot one, and one way that i've been getting my vegetable and fruit intake is through smoothies. smoothies and juices are perfect for the summer because they're SO refreshing so im going to talk about some smoothie recipes.

smoothies make amazing breakfasts or just amazing drinks to have when ur craving a sweet drink. for me, i like to keep my smoothies simple and use ingredients like strawberry and banana, but lately i've been loving mango in my smoothies.

I don't read the comics very often but I do watch Young Justice and I have been meaning to ask- Is Dick Grayson's portrayal different in the animated series from the comics?

Because he definitely seems very goofy to me, with some serious streak.

p.s" I am *very* new to this fandom and I hope that I haven't set off anyone with this question in my hyper-fixation quest.

I've actually answered this question a few times I think, but I answered them so long ago I hardly remember what I said. I've also not watched YJ in so long at this point that I'm not sure I can remember enough to comment on super specific things. And me having more comic knowledge now than I did when I first watched the show may also impact how I felt about it then vs. now. I'll try to dredge up some things though.

I feel like most Dick Grayson comic readers enjoy Dick's portrayal in Young Justice. I only watched Seasons 1-2 of YJ and some of S3, so I can't say whether or not Dick's portrayal in the later episodes or seasons are accurate.

In Young Justice, we see different sides to Dick. As Robin, he's more playful and expressive, and as Nightwing, he's more serious. In an old post of mine, I talked about these sides of him from the perspective of his comic counterpart:

I always see Dick as a mixture of serious and playful whether he's solo or working with a team. He's not just one at all times. When there's downtime or a mission that involves some simple beatings, he's more personable and willing to joke. When there's a serious situation where death is more likely, the serious demeanor falls into place. In Outsiders, Dick is serious when he's with the team, but he's playful and personable towards Roy at times. In Teen Titans, Dick is playful when they're giving some villains a beating, but he's very serious when Wally is hurt. In Nightwing, Dick is more chill when he's living his regular civilian life, and sometimes when he's out as Nightwing, his inner commentary is lighter. Like all things, his demeanor depends on the severity of the situation as well as whether the story is focusing on his civilian life or vigilante one.

By the time we got to YJ S2, the situation that was occurring was quite serious, and on top of that, Dick had experienced Jason's death at that point. Between those past losses and all the weight on Dick's shoulders from his responsibilities, it's no wonder that we got the more serious version of him in S2. So yeah, S1 Dick is more playful, which does reflect comic Dick's kind and more personable side. S2 shows Dick in leader mode, which also reflects comic Dick's leader side well.

I think YJ at least does a decent job of showing Dick's duality in that sense. And it was nice in YJ for us to see Dick get that character development where he went from doing things on his own out of habit of working with Batman to learning how to be a more effective leader of a team.

Hm what else. Dick's manipulation/secret keeping in YJ is accurate (aka the whole Artemis and Kaldur situation). It's the "Batman" in him. This is something that's dealt with in the comics. Dick's friends in the comics may call him out for being too much like Batman or pulling some kind of Batman stunt. Oh and Dick wearing sunglasses in S1 to hide his identity... also accurate to his comic counterpart in keeping his identity to himself.

Then maybe one other thing I didn't necessarily like in S2 was that Dick was held back at the base to coordinate things rather than being out in the field. Which like. I guess makes sense for YJ because, if I'm remembering correctly, Dick was leading different squads of heroes. I guess it would make more sense for him to be in one central location where he could keep an eye on all teams at all times. However, in the comics, Dick would normally be out in the field with his team.

As for a name, they don't really have one! Nor do they deserve one, they don't deserve anything.

Endearingly though, I tend to use Lambie as a little nickname and I DO like the name Lambert, because it makes me giggle, but I will only use both for personal and organisation reasons, not because its their name . In universe they're "The Lamb" and nothing else, theres no name behind the title.

I know I mentioned that I had specific experiences that are very specific to me and don't get me wrong it impacted my life to a level thats obviously more severe than normal, but also, I don't know everything, I am not the arbiter of the experience of every practitioner, cult or religious organisation. this is an experience that isn't one size fits all, it can vary and be influenced from culture to culture, folklore and upbringing.
