Developing and deploying .NET services on Mac has become possible, either through advanced text editors like Sublime Text or through Visual Studio Code, Microsoft's cross-platform IDE utilizing OmniSharp for IntelliSense and Git integration.
The setup for .NET development on Mac involves installing SQL Server via Docker, the .NET Core SDK, and Visual Studio Code. Docker simplifies SQL Server installation, while .NET Core SDK can be easily installed by downloading and running the SDK installer. Visual Studio Code, with Git integration, provides a convenient development environment.
Additional tools and configurations for .NET development on Mac include keyboard remapping using Karabiner-Elements, Better Snap Tool for screen split view, and PowerShell Core for cross-platform PowerShell scripting. Azure CLI and Azurite aid in managing Azure services, while Azure Storage Explorer assists in navigating local and cloud storage services.
Docker for Mac enables running dockerized containers natively, and GitKraken offers a GUI for Git. IDE options include Visual Studio for Mac and Visual Studio Code, both suitable for .NET application development.
Postman remains popular for API development and testing, while Snag It and Camtasia assist with screenshots and screen recording, respectively. Grammarly aids in writing technical documents by analyzing sentences for grammatical errors.
In summary, setting up a .NET development environment on Mac is feasible with various tools and configurations, enhancing the development experience. For .NET development needs, inquiries can be directed to [email protected].

Game Informer:

"Cover Reveal – Dragon Age: The Veilguard by Wesley LeBlanc on Jun 09, 2024 at 02:00 PM This month, Dragon Age: The Veilguard (you read that right – Dreadwolf is no more) graces the cover of Game Informer. After years developing Baldur's Gate and its sequel early in its history, BioWare struck out to create its own fantasy RPG. That series began with Dragon Age: Origins in 2009. It was followed up with Dragon Age II in 2011, and then Dragon Age: Inquisition in 2014. While the Dragon Age series' history has its ups and downs, fans have been patiently waiting for BioWare to return to the franchise, and 2024 is finally the year. We visited BioWare's Edmonton, Canada, office for an exclusive look at Dragon Age: The Veilguard, including a look at its character creator, its prologue and opening missions, and more. We also spoke to many of the game's leads about the name change, the series' shift to real-time action combat, the various companions (and the relationships you can forge with them), and The Veilguard's hub location. You can learn about the titular Veilguard, Solas' role in the game, and so much more in our 12-page cover story for Dragon Age: The Veilguard."

"But there are plenty of other excellent reads within this issue of Game Informer! Some of us flew to Los Angeles, California, to attend Summer Game Fest and the not-E3 weekend's various other events to check out new games, interview developers, and more. Our previews section is jam-packed with new details about upcoming releases we can't wait for. Brian Shea flew to Warsaw, Poland, to check out two upcoming releases – Frostpunk 2 and The Alters – and he came away excited about both. Jon Woodey went hands-on with Final Fantasy XIV's upcoming Dawntrail expansion (and spoke to director Naoki Yoshida, too), and as someone with 8,000 hours in the game, his words are the ones you'll want to read. On the freelance front, Charlie Wacholz writes about how last year's Dave The Diver is one of the best game representations of the rewards and struggles of working in the food and beverage industry, and Grant Stoner spoke with Sony and Microsoft about the development of process and history of the companies' Adaptive and Access controllers. And for a lil' terror this summer, Ashley Bardhan spoke to several horror game developers about why the alluring town known as Silent Hill is a crucial location to Konami's horror masterpiece. As always, you'll find an editor's note from editor-in-chief Matt Miller, reviews from various freelancers and staff editors, a Top 5 list (hint hint: dragons), and more. Here's a closer look at the cover:"

Today in modding, I upgraded the Warrior Pets mod to the development tool I'm using now (JetBrains Rider). I used Visual Studio for years, but then I naively upgraded to discover that the new version blocked the creation of new .Net 2.0 projects. Then Microsoft discontinued the Mac version. I was continuing to mod by using Battery's template creator, which I would be using anyway, but still.
So, no actual progress on Warrior Pets, but at least now I'm capable of making progress? That's, um, meta-progress.

Supergirl 2025 issue 3 thoughts (spoilers ahead)
Hi y'all. Hope you are doing alright. So I just read issue 3 of the newest supergirl book and I have some thoughts about it. First and foremost: it's a nice issue and it keeps building up this new tone for supergirl. A more silver age tone with all the sci fi wackiness of it. And I'm completely in love with it. It's fun and engaging to see a silly side to these characters from time to time.
At last Kara is starting to have some personality here compared to the first two issues. I think many have had the same issue as me with the previous two issues where Kara's personality did not shine through and she was too reserved and subdued. Now we get a Kara who is more outgoing, who loves a mac and cheese sandwich and has deep wells of compassion. Basically Kara is showing more of herself in this issue compared to the previous two and it's a welcome development. Now the parts that worry me and where heavy spoilers will be featured.
Spoiler alert! If you haven't read it, I suggest you do, the issue is awesome!
Ok, with that warning out of the way, let's talk about a worry this issue just gave me. During the final battle, Lesla shoots Kara with a black kryptonite laser gun that turns her into Satan girl. I loved Satan girls design btw. Not much her personality. She's basically an evil bizarro and I was hoping for a more sinister twist to Kara's personality. I know it's in tandem with the tone of the story but this leads to a bigger worry which I will discuss once I discuss the ending. So we got the fight with Satan girl, Lesla realizes the error of her ways once she sees Satan girl attack the Danvers and Lena saves the day by turning Satan girl back to Kara. Kara forgives Lesla and we end with Lesla's parents coming to arrest both Lesla and Kara.
Now the part that worries me a bit is there in the end. Lesla realizes the error of her ways and Kara forgives her. Barring whatever happens in the next issue, here's my biggest worry: you just took away a villain from Kara's rogues gallery. You suddenly turned a villain into a good guy and now Kara has one less villain in her gallery that other writers can use in the future and that's a pet peeve of mine. As of late, many comic book writers try to redeem villains from the heroes and end their stories there and then or they turn the villain into a misunderstood person who eventually understands what they did wrong and change. It's been happening a lot more with newer heroes. Ms. Marvel is my favorite example of this. She has gotten many series over the years and yet she has no rogues gallery to speak off. Beside the thomas edison turkey clone. No consistent villain future writers can fall back to and that's a pet peeve of mine because without a solid rogues gallery, many heroes tend to meander throughout the years. Their individual stories might be good but leaves future writers to pick up the slack with no safety net and make it harder for newer readers to get into.
I understand why writers do this. They want to tell more stories with the heroes, stories that do not devolve into the basic good and evil dynamic. But the problem with that is that it makes it harder for that character to shine on their own in the future, for future writers to use these villains in new ways and challenge the heroes over and over again.
And it happens with supergirl. Kara does not really have a rogues gallery right now. Yes, she has villains that she has had in previous runs, but they are rarely brought back and used. They are always coming up with new villains, or god forbid, they use a villain from superman's. It makes it harder for Kara to stand out in a sea of heroes. This was actually an issue I had with the supergirl show. It barely used villains from her own books, rather using superman villains. And by redeeming Lesla here, I feel they just took away what could have possibly be a great arch enemy for Kara to have in the future. A rival to call her own and push her to her limits.
And of course there's Satan Girl. Who could easily become her own independent being in the future but what she had in personality here hardly qualifies as a future rival for Kara.
Basically put: Kara needs her rogues gallery desperately to rise up. I feel she could be a solid seller and ongoing series if writers made use of her rogues gallery without throwing it to the side after their own story. And having Lesla turn good at the end is a worrying sign for me that maybe Sophie Campbell may not be interested in cementing a rogues gallery for future writers to be able to use and after she is done, regardless of how good her run on supergirl turns out to be, will leave Kara in the same position as when she came in to write her: a bonus to superman but not one to stand on her own.
Obligatory reminder that this is all my opinion and Sophie Campbell may prove me wrong in the future. I'm just sharing my raw feelings at the moment after reading issue #3. Thoughts? You think I'm right? You think I'm wrong? You think superheroes need their rogues galleries or they can be just fine without them? Feel free to share them respectfully and kindly. This is not a debate or an argument. Just a thought.
Cheers!

Searcher tool resource!
Hey all! With some help from @autistic-sidestep, I've been working on this tool (and some associated sorting and filing of stuff I am unable and unwilling to share publicly) for about six months now? Tumblr is awful to find things on and I like being able to find information.
The upshot is, this is a tool written in C# to search and filter json files constructed from a tumblr blog in a way that is more user friendly than simply ctrl+f-ing through a large document, allowing for filtering on multiple tags or terms. For our purposes, Fallen Hero's tumblr specifically.
To use this
Download the zip file in the drive and unzip it. You may have to tell your antivirus it's okay (I am just some guy on the internet with free time not an antivirus recognized developer and you SHOULD be cautious of random files on the internet etc etc).
You'll also need to add the data it's looking for, which has been Aurrie's project for the last couple of months! They shared the files over here, and you need to place them in the Data folder. The files you want read in must have names that start with "Tumblr_" and end with ".json".
Then run the .exe file. If you don't already have the .Net framework this uses to run, it'll point you to where to download it.
There's further instructions on how to use it in both the readme file and once you have the program running, but feel free to reach out to me if you're running into any issues!
This is, unfortunately, Windows only - I may work out how to make a mac version at,, some point, but I initially made this for Just Myself and I don't have a mac and did not consider it. You may be able to make it run with Wine or Mono, but I haven't tested that or anything.
As a sidebar, there's no reason you couldn't use this with other .json files with the same format as the ones Aurrie made, so if anyone's wanting to use this for other similarly unsearchable blogs (all of them. tumblr does not have a functional search system.) we used this tool to scrape the blog, which is a good starting point and you're welcome to reach out to me if you have questions!
#fhr#fhr resource#fallen hero#world's blandest UI but it's functional u know#bookish.txt#okay this program didn't take me six months. ive just been working on various stuff related to its creation for six months.#side-eyeing the CoG forums

Sony PlayStation - Gadget "Past as Future" (Gadget: Invention, Travel & Adventure)
Title: Gadget "Past as Future" / ガジェット [パスト・アス・フューチャー]
Developer/Publisher: SYNERGY INC.
Release date: 27 November 1997
Catalogue No.: SLPS-01082~5
Genre: 3D First Person Adventure
Coming from the same developer that made Yellow Brick Road for the Sega Saturn, I wasn't expecting much from this game, but I was actually surprised. Understanding Gadget is pretty much an impossible task, just as previous games from Haruhiko Shono like Alice Interactive Museum or L-Zone, which garnered some modicum of notoriety when initially released for Macs (more of a testament to the lack of quality games for Mac than anything else really), the game is really not a game but instead an outlet for Mr. Shono's artistic visions. This is probably the clearest example of videogames as art, not in the "oh it means something so deep" sense of art (which is actually more allegory than anything else) but in the sense of art as an abstract representation of subconscious ideas through a medium, in this case, an interactive story of a meteor on its way to earth.
"Digital Artistry" has become a much too prostituted term these days, with just about anyone doing some meaningless shit on the net being called a "Digital Artist", but Shono was one of the original pioneers that dared not only to investigate the artistic possibilities behind 3D modeling and interactive storytelling, and he managed to release commercial products and not just relegate his creations to underground art houses. Granted, the timing couldn't have been better for Mr. Shono, at the time when he released his "games" the "multimedia revolution" was in full swing, and publishers everywhere were more than happy to publish anything with lots of video, images and that took up a lot of CDs...
Anyhow, provided you understand what you are getting into, you'll be rewarded with a pretty interesting "experience" when you load Gadget up. You'll essentially engage in a dream-like trip into the Gadget world with the excuse being for you to find a group of scientists that have some connection with the approaching meteor. The world of Gadget is a Victorian empire that is really a bizarre collection of impressionist, Victorian-like, sepia-colored locations that seem to borrow elements from noir mystery films, in fact, if there's someplace that reminds me of the Gadget world is the city from Metropolis and the one in Dark City, except the penchant for towering skyscrapers is replaced with a penchant for trains and mechanical machinery.
The characters in the game serve all sorts of symbolic purposes that would surely turn the game into a field trip for any psychologist who tries this game out. There's a disappearing mute kid that comes and goes for no apparent reason, a shady government officer called Theodore Slowslop (??) that comes and pushes you around the assignment, and I'll be damned if the scientist doesn't represent a fragment of a collective psyche. Similarly, there are a lot of actions in the game that obviously have a deeper meaning, such as getting off a train in the middle of nowhere to follow a glinting light, or chasing after that elusive kid, etc... If you've seen movies like Fellini's Amarcord then you know the deal, lots of seemingly meaningless characters, doing seemingly meaningless things that collectively are representative of a bigger meaning for the creators. Just what meaning is that it is pointless to try and figure out, being an intellectual game fit for those with just too much time on their hands. The fun part is figuring out what they mean to you and what emotions they trigger, it sure helps to be in sync with the creator, but otherwise, it's a free-for-all experience.
The technical aspect for the uh... "product" is truly top-notch, with stellar pre-rendered graphics (done by Shono himself) that illustrate the Gadget world with lush detail and a great sense of style. The game is really after all a Myst-like slideshow, so graphic detail is a given. As for the movies themselves they are lovingly animated but fall prey to the shitty compression techniques of the time using very early Quicktime videos. The haunting music composed by Koji Ueno deserves special praise however as it uses a collection of imaginative arrangements and experimental sounds that perfectly suit the game and create a surreal atmosphere for the game itself. It sounds like the more imaginative scores by Oscar/Golden Globe-winning composer Ryuichi Sakamoto and it truly deserves to be listened to on its own.
Fair note, the PS1 port of Gadget comes on 4 CDs, just like Panzer Dragoon Azel for the Saturn. Just be thankful it did not come on 8 CDs much like the Saturn port of Phantasmagoria.

McDonald’s Day
McDonald’s Day falls on April 15, the anniversary day of when Ray Kroc opened his first McDonald’s restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, in 1955. Most, if not all, people around the world know this name, we believe. It’s one of the world’s largest fast-food restaurant chains. Did you know that Ray Kroc was not the founder of McDonald’s? The founders were the McDonald brothers. The current corporation credits its founding to Ray Kroc. So, let’s celebrate this McDonald’s Day in honor of Kroc as well as the restaurant founders, the McDonald brothers.
HISTORY OF MCDONALD'S DAY
The very first McDonald’s restaurant was opened by New Hampshire brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald on May 15, 1940, in San Bernardino, California. The McDonald brothers started by serving slow-cooked barbecue, and the business took off quickly. They later found out that 80% of their sales were from hamburgers, so they closed it for three months. They then remodeled it as a self-service restaurant, where customers placed their orders at the windows. It is said that they simplified their menu to just nine: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, three flavors of soft drink, milk, coffee, potato chips, and pie.
The McDonald’s brothers developed the “Speedee Service System,” allowing them to prepare the food quickly. All their hamburgers contained ketchup, mustard, onions, and two pickles. Although this newly remodeled McDonald’s struggled at first, once the brothers replaced potato chips with french fries and introduced triple thick milkshakes, the business started to grow again. In the early 1950s, they saw their profits double. They then established several franchises in California and Arizona. Ray Kroc, a milkshake mixer salesman, visited them in 1954, wondering why McDonald’s would order eight of his multimixers.
Once Kroc knew about McDonald’s restaurant operation, he saw potential in it. He then bought the rights to franchise the brothers’ restaurant across the country. He opened his first McDonald’s franchised restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, in 1955. But, their relationship was contentious due to philosophies that differ on how to run the business. Kroc later purchased the company from the McDonald brothers in 1961. The brothers who lent their name to the business and were pioneers of the business concept gradually faded to the background. They kept their original San Bernardino restaurant until they were out of business eventually.

KEEPER - Post-Production
vimeo
Final Proof of Concept for KEEPER (This is the submission version so does not have full credits, they are in the description, it only has the assessed members credited - this will be rectified before it is made public on the film's social media and crowdfunder)
After my deep dissatisfaction with the rushes, I was over the moon with the edit. Jake managed to work his magic with the few usable parts of the footage, making something that does exactly what we had wanted it to do.
On their own, the shots seemed muddled narratively and poorly executed, however, in the context of the edit, the shots totally work! The perspective is consistent and draws us in to our main character and the stakes of the scene. The OTS shots on Graham (mainly a clean single in the final edit) really let us feel the pressure that Will is under from the coach (I'm also really happy with the effect of the moving camera in these shots). The lens gets longer and the camera pushes in constantly throughout the scene, pushing us ever closer to the moment the ball is kicked into the back of the net. While there are still some framing issues (the tracking shot of Will is very awkward) and focus issues (the tracking shot again, as well as the final shot) Jake managed to keep these to a minimum, making my work seem a lot slicker than it actually was. Really, a hell of an editor, that boy.
We had a couple rounds of feedback from the whole team and then from only Ben before the picture was locked. I got straight into the colour grade - I can't sit on footage, it must be played with.

The different lighting conditions on the filming day
My main challenge with the colour grade was matching the footage from the different weather/lighting types we had when filming. Both the contrast and the exposure changed drastically throughout the day. Strangely, the bright, direct sunlight happened twice, but both those times managed to fall on when we were shooting the dive, so in actuality, it was only a few shots that were wildly different, the rest were more or less the same. I spent half a day getting the levels to match and getting the contrast to a good place before going into the the "look". At first, Ben wanted a yellow-y tinge to the grass as we'd seen in some of the inspiration images, but after doing a full pass with this style, I wasn't satisfied. Ben gave me a specific image to grade to for the dirt:
grading reference
I managed to get a look relatively close to this, however, I wasn't a fan of how luminant the greens were. I then tried a version that had deeper, colder greens, which is the final version. I'm really happy with the way Will and Graham's red tops stand out and draw our eyes in. One issue I was having was the paleness of our main actor, a complexion I've never seen before. It was a struggle to bring out any real saturation to his skin tones, but I think this added to the cold feeling of the environment. To add to the dirty feeling, I used a 35mm film grain overlay which I like, although it is a lot less noticeable on my laptop monitor than it was in the grade or on the Mac monitor. Other little effects included the aspect ratio (5:3) which Ben had suggested which I ended up really liking as it gives a nice middle ground between framing faces and framing the width of the pitch. And finally a little vignetting to accentuate the tunnel-vision feel. Overall, I'm happy with the way the film looks and although this look is nowhere close to what the final film will be like (in terms of colour and contrast) as we will be filming at night under spotlights, I think I still managed to further develop my colour grading skills which will help next year.
And then we added the credits (Just the assessed members for this submission) and uploaded to Vimeo. The workflow was all smooth on my end and I'm really happy with how we progressed through post-production.
And then I just had my final reflection to do and a few days to work on my other project...

@grison-in-space : "The thing is, my students are so much less comfortable with basic shit like directory structures and hunting for basic workarounds in response to errors than I was at their age. And it's because apps silo all that shit away from users! It wasn't possible to use computers the way I did as a teenager WITHOUT that shit, especially because I used to routinely have to navigate around and bypass narc shit like Net Nanny if I wanted to read fanfiction in peace. There is so much more advanced spyware now and it's so much more normalized! It's harder to dick around in filesystems -- hell, I have to actively work and sometimes search the Internet to find out how to get to the directory of my phone!
And I mostly lay the root of the problem at the foot of two places: apps/mobile, and the increasing arms race between technology developers and end users to control user experience.
Apps function effectively by hiding all the parts under the hood from the user, so as not to overwhelm. But what hiding all the parts does is prevent the user from learning how to lift the hood up and tinker with the machine! Sure, you might break it, and it's certainly more frustrating to use that way, but what a wealth of power lies at your fingers if you learn how the machine works."
Yes.
I think Apple are one of the biggest culprits; their entire model is based on turning tech users from creators (people who could tinker with the machine, even in the broadest, simplest sense) to consumers, and tech itself from a tool to a display. For a while at least (maybe it's changed now) you couldn't even move an ebook your had purchased from your iPad to your computer, or just retrieve a file you had transferred to it yourself, to put it on another device or save a back-up copy, much less open up the file to see how it was made or fix something you didn't like (regardless of DRM). There are some exceptions, but I feel like there has been a fundamental shift in how many people use devices, that started with the Mac graphic interface and got exponentially worse with the iPhone / iPad. Of course there are ways to use a tablet to be creative, especially with images (and Procreate is basically magic), but most of them are fairly constrained and involve using an app in the specific way the app was designed to be used, with little to no flexibility for tinkering even with your own creations outside of frustratingly narrow parameters.
seriously, though. i work in higher education, and part of my job is students sending me transcripts. you'd think the ones who have the least idea how to actually do that would be the older ones, and while sure, they definitely struggle with it, i see it most with the younger students. the teens to early 20s crowd.
very, astonishingly often, they don't know how to work with .pdf documents. i get garbage phone screenshots, sometimes inserted into an excel or word file for who knows what reason, but most often it's just a raw .jpg or other image file.
they definitely either don't know how to use a scanner, don't have access to one, or don't even know where they might go for that (staples and other office supply stores sometimes still have these services, but public libraries always have your back, kids.) so when they have a paper transcript and need to send me a copy electronically, it's just terrible photos at bad angles full of thumbs and text-obscuring shadows.
mind bogglingly frequently, i get cell phone photos of computer screens. they don't know how to take a screenshot on a computer. they don't know the function of the Print Screen button on the keyboard. they don't know how to right click a web page, hit "print", and choose "save as PDF" to produce a full and unbroken capture of the entirety of a webpage.
sometimes they'll just copy the text of a transcript and paste it right into the message of an email. that's if they figure out the difference between the body text portion of the email and the subject line, because quite frankly they often don't.
these are people who in most cases have done at least some college work already, but they have absolutely no clue how to utilize the attachment function in an email, and for some reason they don't consider they could google very quickly for instructions or even videos.
i am not taking a shit on gen z/gen alpha here, i'm really not.
what i am is aghast that they've been so massively failed on so many levels. the education system assumed they were "native" to technology and needed to be taught nothing. their parents assumed the same, or assumed the schools would teach them, or don't know how themselves and are too intimidated to figure it out and teach their kids these skills at home.
they spend hours a day on instagram and tiktok and youtube and etc, so they surely know (this is ridiculous to assume!!!) how to draft a formal email and format the text and what part goes where and what all those damn little symbols means, right? SURELY they're already familiar with every file type under the sun and know how to make use of whatever's salient in a pinch, right???
THEY MUST CERTAINLY know, innately, as one knows how to inhale, how to type in business formatting and formal communication style, how to present themselves in a way that gets them taken seriously by formal institutions, how to appear and be competent in basic/standard digital skills. SURELY. Of course. RIGHT!!!!
it's MADDENING, it's insane, and it's frustrating from the receiving end, but even more frustrating knowing they're stumbling blind out there in the digital spaces of grown-up matters, being dismissed, being considered less intelligent, being talked down to, because every adult and system responsible for them just
ASSUMED they should "just know" or "just figure out" these important things no one ever bothered to teach them, or half the time even introduce the concepts of before asking them to do it, on the spot, with high educational or professional stakes.
kids shouldn't have to supplement their own education like this and get sneered and scoffed at if they don't.

FIFA World Cup 2026: Argentina Possible Squad Breakdown
Argentina will return to the global stage as defending champions, aiming to retain their crown at the FIFA World Cup 2026. With the tournament hosted across the USA, Mexico, and Canada, La Albiceleste will look to repeat the glory of Qatar 2022 with a squad full of talent and belief.

Their last World Cup victory came spectacularly, overcoming France in a thrilling final at Lusail Stadium. Led by Lionel Messi and backed by Emiliano Martinez’s penalty heroics, the triumph was their third world title and their first since Diego Maradona’s historic 1986 win in Mexico.
After dominating the CONMEBOL qualifiers, including wins both home and away against arch-rivals Brazil, Argentina head into the Football World Cup 2026 as one of the favorites. With quality across every position, they are fully prepared to mount another title challenge.
Messi’s Final Chapter Set for the Football World Cup 2026
Lionel Messi is expected to take part in his final international tournament at the FIFA World Cup 2026. Despite being nearly 39 years old, he continues to perform at an elite level in MLS and remains Argentina’s most influential figure in big matches.

With Angel Di Maria having retired after the 2024 Copa America triumph, the leadership role now fully belongs to Messi. As Argentina targets the Football World Cup 2026, their iconic captain remains the emotional and tactical heartbeat of the squad.
Defensive Backbone to Lead the Charge at FIFA 2026
Argentina’s defense is built on strength, discipline, and experience. The central partnership of Cristian Romero and Lisandro Martinez continues to shine, combining physical dominance with calm distribution from the back.
Full-backs Nahuel Molina and Nicolas Tagliafico are the likely starters in the wide positions. Both have World Cup experience, provide width going forward, and are capable defenders, making them essential to the Football World Cup 2026 plans.

Veteran Nicolas Otamendi still provides valuable cover, while depth players like Gonzalo Montiel, Valentin Barco, and Leonardo Balerdi will compete for spots. With young names pushing through, Argentina’s defensive setup is more balanced than ever.
Argentina’s Midfield Engine Ready for the Football World Cup
Argentina’s midfield will be crucial in their pursuit of glory at the FIFA World Cup 2026. Rodrigo De Paul, Alexis Mac Allister, and Enzo Fernandez remain the heart of Scaloni’s system, offering pressing, creativity, and ball control in equal measure.
Enzo Fernandez, a breakout star in Qatar 2022, continues to grow and is likely to reclaim a starting role. Mac Allister brings flair and forward momentum, while De Paul’s work rate and aggression remain irreplaceable on the biggest stage.
Behind them, exciting young midfielders such as Thiago Almada, Franco Mastantuono, and Claudio Echeverri are making strong cases. Their inclusion could add unpredictability to Argentina’s play at the Football World Cup 2026, giving Scaloni valuable rotation options.
Firepower and Flair in Argentina’s Frontline for FIFA World Cup 2026

Football fans around the world are counting down to the FIFA World Cup 2026. At gettickets365, we bring you exclusive access to Buy FIFA 2026 Tickets, from opening games to the epic World Cup Final. Buy World Cup Tickets now and be part of the world’s most electrifying football event live in the stadiums!
Lautaro was the top scorer in the 2024 Copa America and netted the winner in the final against Colombia. His development under pressure makes him a likely starter alongside Messi and Alvarez in the front three for FIFA 2026.
Another rising name is Giuliano Simeone, who has been gaining recognition at the club level. With Angel Di Maria retired, Simeone and other young forwards will look to grab the opportunity and make their mark in the Football World Cup 2026.
Star Performers Set to Shine at the Football World Cup

Cristian Romero’s leadership and defensive presence will be crucial, especially against top-tier opponents. Alongside him, Lisandro Martinez provides both composure and steel, forming a defensive unit capable of keeping the best at bay.
Julian Alvarez and Rodrigo De Paul have also cemented their positions as vital contributors. While Alvarez offers goals and movement, De Paul is the engine in midfield, making them both key to Argentina’s Football World Cup 2026 campaign.
Predicted Argentina Line-up for the FIFA World Cup 2026
Scaloni is expected to stick with a familiar 4-3-3 shape that balances defense with creativity. In goal, Emiliano Martinez is the undisputed starter. His performances in previous tournaments have left little room for competition.
In defense, Molina and Tagliafico will take the wide roles, with Romero and Lisandro Martinez in central defense. This backline offers stability, experience, and the tactical discipline needed to compete deep into the Football World Cup 2026.
Midfield will likely see De Paul, Mac Allister, and Enzo Fernandez starting, while the front three of Messi, Alvarez, and Lautaro remains unmatched in chemistry and execution. This XI blends veterans and young stars with World Cup-winning pedigree.
Experience the passion, drama, and glory of the Football World Cup 2026 live! With gettickets365, it’s easier than ever to buy FIFA World Cup Tickets, including premium access to FIFA World Cup Final Tickets and Football World Cup Final Tickets. Don’t wait, secure your World Cup Tickets now and cheer for your team on the biggest stage in football.

Rentlord Combines Chaos and Real Estate Fun

Rentlord a chaotic combo-making roguelike game where real estate meets risk and reward, has officially launched on Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. Thanks to the creative mind of developer Verty. Which you can find on Steam with 80% Very Positive reviews. Rentlord isn’t your grandma’s Monopoly session — it’s the sweaty-palmed, neon-flashing combo-making roguelike love-child you’d get if Isaac sold park-place while ducking the tax man in a cyberpunk alley. Boot it up on your favorite Linux distro, crack your knuckles, and get ready to gamble everything on a pile of wobbling apartment blocks that could explode—or explode with cash. Picture this: You start a fresh run on Tuesday night thinking you’ll squeeze in “just one game.” Three hours later you’re still glued to your keyboard, chasing that glorious moment when all your properties click together into a rent-printing super-machine. Every run is procedurally generated, so the market, the plugin shop, and Lady Luck herself will never show you the same hand twice. Fail hard? Hit “New Game” and dive back into Rentlord; the stakes reset, but the salt sticks around for flavor.
Buy Weird, Win Big
The marketplace is a carnival of delightful oddities: haunted duplexes, desert yurts, even an underwater studio with terrible Wi-Fi but killer tax write-offs. Each property comes with its own perks and pitfalls, so drafting your early portfolio feels part poker, part mad science. Snag a “Graffiti Tower” that spits out extra rent when neighbors upgrade, or grab a “Solar Commune” that shrugs off environmental fees. Throw them together and watch the sparks fly.
Plugin Mayhem on Rentlord
Plugins are the secret sauce—the “legendary loot drops” of roguelike real estate. Slot a “Rent Doubler” into that Graffiti Tower and suddenly the cash erupts like popcorn. Chain that into a “Late Fee Loop” plugin and now every unpaid coin snowballs into more profit. Build enough of these daisy-chains and the screen practically shakes under the dollar signs—until Uncle Sam shows up, eyebrow raised.

Free Updates, Zero Landlord Fees
Post-launch, Rentlord is scheduled for four chunky free content drops. New property sets, extra plugins, fresh weekly challenges—each update rewires the meta just enough to keep veterans on their toes and rookies screaming “one more run!” The live roadmap on the store page ticks off milestones as the devs ship, so your fun never goes stale. Leonard Lauder, Visionary Behind Estée Lauder’s Global Rise, Dies at 92
Source: people.com
Leonard Lauder, the influential businessman who turned Estée Lauder from a small family business into a global beauty powerhouse, passed away at the age of 92. His death was announced by Estée Lauder Companies in a statement confirming he died peacefully on Saturday, surrounded by his family.
Born in New York City in 1933, Leonard was the eldest son of Estée and Joseph Lauder, the founders of the cosmetics brand. He joined the company in 1958 after serving as a U.S. Navy lieutenant. At the time of his entry, Estée Lauder’s annual sales were under $1 million, a modest figure compared to the brand’s modern reach. Under Leonard’s leadership, the company experienced extraordinary growth, now generating $15.6 billion in sales across 150 countries.
Lauder served as CEO for 17 years, overseeing the company’s expansion into international markets and its foray into research and development. He led acquisitions of iconic brands such as Clinique, Bobbi Brown, and MAC, solidifying Estée Lauder’s dominance in the beauty sector. His leadership was also marked by the 1995 IPO, which saw a 33% share price jump on its first trading day. Though he stepped down as CEO in 1999, Lauder remained actively involved in the business, holding the honorary title of chairman emeritus until his passing.
Tributes Pour In for a Global Icon
Following news of his death, tributes from celebrities and industry figures poured in, reflecting Lauder’s far-reaching influence. Stephane de La Faverie, current CEO of Estée Lauder, hailed him as “an icon and pioneer” whose visionary leadership helped define the company’s success. He added, “His energy and vision helped shape our company and will continue to do so for generations to come.”
British actress and model Elizabeth Hurley, who launched her career with Estée Lauder, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, calling Lauder her “American Daddy” and expressing disbelief at his passing. Steve Forbes, editor-in-chief of Forbes Media, described him as a man who “lived life well,” while former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg praised Lauder’s enduring legacy, saying it would be “felt for generations to come.”
According to Forbes’ 2025 rich list, Leonard Lauder had an estimated net worth of $10.1 billion, placing him among the world’s wealthiest individuals.
A Patron of Art and Champion of Health
Beyond his corporate achievements, Leonard Lauder was a notable philanthropist and art connoisseur. In 2013, he made headlines by donating his billion-dollar Cubist art collection to New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the most significant gifts in the museum’s history.
Lauder was also deeply involved in charitable causes, particularly in health and cancer research. He served as honorary chairman of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s board of directors, advocating for greater awareness and funding to combat the disease.
Leonard Lauder leaves behind a legacy not only in beauty and business but also in culture and philanthropy. His life’s work has left an indelible mark on the world, both through the products millions use and the causes he championed.
