In today's world, where endlessly doomscrolling 12 hours a day on Instagram reels in bed is the new normal, our health has taken a back burner. You will be surprised at how little the average person today walks. Most people are walking less than 4,000–5,000 steps, which is way below the recommended holy 10k steps number. As a fellow university student, I completely sympathize completing the 10k steps goal seems daunting with back-to-back lectures and endless assignments. No one has the time or motivation to complete this goal.

Daily Goal I have my Fitbit set up to notify me whenever I hit my daily goal of walking 10,000 steps. Most days I’m able to reach this target and be rewarded with several seconds of buzzing vibration on my wrist and flashing colours on the watch screen , complete with animated fireworks to celebrate my mini success. After a while, it becomes an obsession to see that I hit the target every day. There have been some nights, usually close to midnight, when I discover that I’m only a few hundred steps away from my goal, and I’m compelled to jump up from my bed and start pacing around just to get the number up to an even 10K. Looking back on my habit trackers from January. 🔹 Some were redundant (tracking hydration and cleaning and steps and also marking in a master tracker whether they were completed). 🔹 Some needed more space (I drink a lot of water). 🔹Some needed more detail (all task involved with caring for cats). It really interesting to see a visual spread of when I do (or don’t do) things. This has helped me set clearer goals for February. Also, considering getting a new Fitbit.
