If you were to create a story from scratch with original characters, what would you go for and what kind of characters would you have?

I've actually use to write original stories (well snippets and short stories because I have the attention span of a squirrel and can't write long content) with original characters before really getting into fanfiction. There all on paper not digital because I was self conscious about them and didn't really think anyone would be interested in them. But I can share the premise of a couple of them on here!

The one that was very different from the other content I wrote was a piece that took place right after the Civil War. A southern farmer dies leaving his daughter Elizabeth land in Oklahoma but women aren't allowed land ownership so she becomes Elijah and begins her/his journey through the harsh wild west. On the way she runs into Caroline, a tutor from Virginia, who is on the run from the law for killing a man in self defense. Caroline suggests that they pose as a married couple so that Elizabeth's disguise as Elijah goes more smoothly and for Caroline's safety as unmarried woman. They navigate the wild dangerous world in their horse drawn buggy and start building their homestead, hoping they can live a life women could only dream of, while steadily falling in love with each other.

Ever since I read the Kiesha'ra series by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, I have been obsessed with writing wlw shapeshifter romance stories. I've written bits and pieces of an avian x serpent love story between a rebellious avian girl and a sweet shy serpent girl. I've written an enemies to lovers arranged marriage love story between two head strong girls, one a feline shapeshifter and the other avian. And yet another between an older queen of arachnids x younger avian princess. (I have a thing for winged people so that's why there's so many avian protagonists lol)

Idk if anyone here has listened to Starline series by asmr gav on Youtube (Which I highly recommend, it's what first got me into alien romance) but the main love interest at one point absentmindedly wraps his tail around the MC and then has to explain that it's a gesture of compassion and intimacy, which leads to them experimenting with other forms of intimacy.

Most of my alien characters have tails of some kind. They can be prehensile, used interchangeably with other limbs to grab things or balance themselves after a tumble, with the added benefit of having something to hold you with while still being able to work. (Or hold you in a way out of sight, literally under the table if the relationship is looked down upon, but they still want you to know how much they care)

Maybe they were evolved for some social reason, an extra method of emoting that remains even when they interact with members of another species. Tails that twitch or lash out in annoyance, tails that swish back and forth with adorably obvious glee when you get closer than they were expecting.

And my favorite, tails that usually hang low but perk up when they spot someone they like. Crewmates have to be aware of how close they are at any given time, no one wants to be smacked because you walked into the room and accidentally triggered their "happy tail".

What kind of dynamic do you think Luka and Mizi will have now? Do you think they'd get along with how Mizi and Ivan did?

Ngl I can't understand why so many people seem so sure Mizi's going to take everything out on Luka the same way she did R5.

The beatdown of R5 happened because Mizi was overwhelmed by the despair and anger of facing not only her death but Sua's too. She directed this at Luka who was actively provoking her (justified), but also because he, as another victim, was the only existence weak enough for her to attack.

The system? Conceptual.

The segyein? It's been reinforced to her since birth that they're untouchable.

But Luka. He's a human. The only plausible outlet for her rage in her situation and their reality.

These conditions haven't been recreated by the end of Wiege. Luka has no motive anymore to provoke her.

It's possible Mizi would lash out at Luka again, wanting to find someone to blame, but on an objective level he isn't the cause for this, merely the closest reachable target, so it'll be a meaningless beatdown.

Eventually, Mizi will have to turn to the fact that the source of it all is the system and segyein — those she once believed she was powerless against, but has since been shown otherwise through Hyuna and the rebellion.

Do you think they'd get along with how Mizi and Ivan did?

In an AU where they're in the same class, I think they'll be friends for sure if only because befriending everyone is Mizi's Thing, and Luka has never driven people away as a conscious choice. But they probably wouldn't share the same kind of relationship Mizi and Ivan did.

Despite their innate parallels, Ivan and Luka don't behave the same way socially. (Or rather, according to Vivimeng commentary, it's exactly because they're too similar that they made Ivan and Luka's surface level traits completely different.)

For Mizi-Luka friendship, I think the closest comparison is how Luka sees and interacts with Hyun Woo! These incorrect quotes are pretty close to what I think their dynamic would be

Could you do a bot that was like a young teen alien who had kind of a special interest on humans, but when they snuck out to go to earth they ended up getting captured by the government and Price (or anyone) gets stuck with being the caregiver and he keeps accidentally like showing them new things and a bunch of their info on humans was wrong?

I've heard tales of the Plaidypus that lives in Gravity Falls, have you ever tried to talk to one? I hear they're great listeners.

Ah yes the wonderful Plaidypus. Fiddleford and I first discovered their existence when we were traveling to crash site omega.

We both took a break from the long trek to have some lunch while the little fellow decided to take a large bite out of his sandwich before scampering away.

Fiddleford and I shared a look of confusion due to how fast the thing moved. We tried to find it but had not an ounce of luck unfortunately.

A few days later I went back out to the area to look once more and spotted it sleeping near a tree. As I walked closer I accidentally stepped on a stray branch causing it to awake.

It stared at me for a few moments but didn’t look like it was going to run so I continued to approach slowly. They are quite skittish creatures, especially due to the fact they were frequently hunted by lumberjacks.

But once you gain their trust they are very lovable. I spent many weeks working on getting the Plaidypus to trust me and eventually I was able to even hold it. Fiddleford came with me during that trip and was able to snap a picture of me with it.

Very lovely creatures and yes you’re correct they are great listeners as well. Fiddleford could ramble to it for hours and it would just lay there watching him as though it was genuinely interested in the words he was saying.

It’s currently a fan theory as to why Alastor keeps Husk around, the theory being that Alastor simply likes cats, and spared Husk because his demon form was a cat. So to him Husk is essentially a pet, who he likes to have around to look at, not even to like most of the time (like any cat owner), just to be there, is all a cat owner asks of the cat.

Sure, but like. That’s not what Alastor does with Husk? He literally summons him to act as the barkeep/man the front desk of the hotel. Husk’s reaction to Alastor summoning him, and Mimzy’s comment about how Alastor still has him swinging hooch implies that it isn’t something too uncommon for him to do, but also not something he does everytime Alastor needs something to be done. And even then Alastor has to bribe him with alcohol to get Husk to agree with working at the hotel.

Alastor doesn’t treat him like a cat, he treats him like a reluctant employee. Husk even calls Alastor boss. Nothing about Alastor’s actions with Husk implies he thinks about Husk that way aside from that one interaction where Alastor is deliberately trying to get under Husk’s skin.

Personally, I believe Alastor keeps Husk around because 1) he’s useful, 2) Alastor’s said to have a weird moral code, and 3) Husk went to Alastor to make that deal, Alastor didn’t target Husk. And it probably happened sometime after he stopped hunting down overlords. It makes Husk interesting, I don’t think many people (overlords) would be desperate enough (or confident enough) to go to the dude who’s known for torturing and killing overlords and then broadcasting their dying screams to the rest of Hell for so much as disrespecting him, and expect to get a good deal out of him over just being killed.

The first time he met Okarun is in the Danmara Arc (Chap 161), at that time he kinda worked together with Okarun's team defeating Fairy-Tale Card. Okarun still has Turbo Granny's power! (You can find the panel of the chapter in the fb post: Rokuro Serpo)

But by the time when Sanjome-sensei asked Okarun to admit defeat (to take his powers), somehow it didn't work, and he was a bit surprised because he can't feel Okarun's power, so he retreated.

I think I did kinda mention this detail (or not) in my review manga posts of the Current Saga Part in my pin post, you can check it out, because I have bad memory whether I have written this detail in my post or not :"))

When I recheck him on the wiki, I did not realize that he was already making the first appearance in Chap 120 (Space Globalists Arc)

I kinda remembered a bit of this chapter 120, at the end of the chapter where Turbo Granny was a bit furious of this Count Saint-Germain. Both Serpo and Granny are alerted of how dangerous he is.

Throughout the Space Globalists Arc, he did not make an appreance during the big war between Okarun and Momo's team and the alien's team. And he only appeared right after the end of the war. But our first impression of him is that he is not evil, no bad intentions. He looks more like an explorer collecting yokai's power and put them in the Kozuka Knives, he even "helped" the elderly, "befriended" Okarun's friends, though he is on the list of suspicions of the group.

It's said that Saint Germain is a human-liked alien, and a part of Kur, the space globalists group. Right now, Saint Germain hasn't done anything suspicious enough, yet, as he only appeared at some panels of a chapter. He hasn't harmed any member of Okarun's team yet, which is good, and I have a feeling that the author Tatsuya-sensei might develop this character even more in the future chapters.

Some people are hating on Zaire because their new favorite white boy «was screwed over by identity politics». I have seen at least four people complain about how PB «ruined Terror Fest» because they didn't make their red herring a murderer. Their justifiable mommy issues actually makes them a good red herring. There are so many hunky white male love interests. Why can't black queer people have that one good thing without becoming the fandom scapegoats? We're talking about a company that gives racist players the tools to erase all black main characters from their stories. A company that disregards female LIs and non-white LIs. People are seriously upset that they can't find a way to kill off Zaire? Every fandom has its jerks but I'm surprised how many openly racist people there are in the choices fandom. I wish that someone over at Pixelberry studios would realize that by completely erasing canon representation from some of their new stories they are cultivating a toxic fan environment.

I'm honestly not surprised people are doing this. Thankfully I haven't seen any of this myself, because I've pretty much blocked off like 70% of the choices fandom on Tumblr and I don't engage with the choices fandom on other social media platforms because of the misogyny, homophobia and racism that runs rampant there but I'm not surprised some of the stans that romance the killer are taking their frustration out on the black trans enby. I say SOME of the Tyson stans because I know not all of them are hateful people, and for those who aren't taking it out on Zaire and all black, trans and nonbinary ppl, I do hate it for you. If Zaire or Lucky had been the killer and we didn't get to choose to support them than I would be pissed too, but that's NOT an excuse to hate on a member of the minority, it's never an excuse to do so.

Its just shitty ppl showing their true colors. Hateful miserable people using any excuse to be racist and transphobic. POC will always be the scapegoat for these garbage people. Have you seen the standees set with all the pairs, each with one of them dead and it's called "Love-Hate"? I can get how it applies to Ivantill and Hyunaluka, but how does it apply to Mizisua?

In the Sua's Protection post I elaborated on the inherent selfishness of self-sacrifice:

Self-sacrifice doesn't need the other party's consent.

It doesn't ask for their opinion.

It doesn't give them the right to choose, because the choice is already made for them.

Conversations are about communicating, but even moreso, conversations in a relationship are about respecting each other's thoughts and opinions. It's a way for two (or more) people to touch base, know where each other are at, and find solutions together for the sake of each other and making the relationship work.

Conversations are an outreached hand, and when another person grasps that hand, communication is established.

Self-sacrifice means turning your back on the conversation and making the choice without regard for your partner, thereby placing your own feelings and decisions, your own will above someone else's.

Relationships aren't about any one singular person.

Sua's actions are for Mizi's sake yes, but by doing what she did, Sua essentially chose "Mizi" over "Mizi&Sua" and... while we can empathize with Sua's actions, I think it's also understandable for Mizi to be deeply hurt and resentful about that. In the end it was Sua who ripped "Mizi&Sua" away from her.

Someone might pose the question: "But can "Mizi&Sua" really exist in a world where one of them needs to die in a death match?"

Honestly I think yes, because "Mizi&Sua" will exist for as long as both of them are still invested in this relationship and its future — as long as both of them are putting in the effort of keeping this relationship alive regardless of whatever frightful things to come.

But what happened in Round 1 is that Sua gave the lie, the illusion of "Mizi&Sua" (in on this together) when in actuality she has long since chosen "Mizi" (and deleted herself from the equation of this relationship without Mizi ever knowing).

The moment Sua chose death, she gave up on "Mizi&Sua."

Now that we've established some of the logistics of MiziSua love-hate, let's take a closer look at the art itself, which seems to reflect a very nuanced manifestation of love-hate in Mizi.

Hate is often seen as a harsh, violent emotion. It's an aggressive feeling that you need to put energy into to fuel.

Yet this scene is almost... tranquil.

Mizi is very docile here, curled into herself like a small animal.

Her expression is numb. The type of numb you only reach after breaking down and crying for hours upon hours until you can't cry anymore.

We see none of the raw rage she showed in Round 5. There's no lashing out, no screaming and no ferocity in this scene.

This artwork shows that Mizi's hate is tender. It is subdued. It is a hurt that festers in her chest.

Mizi's hate is a quiet, vulnerable, "Why?"

In their post, @/crustyfloor describes Sua here as "simply hovering over her and watching in an eerie, enigmatic way" which imo captures it perfectly.

Sua is an eerie ghost now to Mizi, an enigma in death.

Round 1 shattered Mizi's perception of the world and as a result, of Sua and the bond they shared as well. But she has nowhere to go, reeling in all of her newfound questions, because Sua is now no longer with her.

Here, Mizi looks up at the one she loved, the one she still loves, in askance.

And her hate is one of questions that will never receive answers.
