Just because I use parentheses and 2nd person pov and love the same concepts of what a time loop can do to a person doesn't mean it's ISAT

Obviously the action and the whole premise of bcs/brba wouldn't work in france (legal system aside, the whole cartel and walter white storyline would have to suffer major changes due to social security and the mexican cartel well. not existing here stricto sensu). But let's talk about the real Important Stuff : their names

I think Howard Hamlin would work well as Edouard Hamelin. He looses the cool HH initials yes, but it works really well as a genuine french name imo, and Howard/Edouard are pretty close phonetically

Chuck could still be called Charles without any realism issue, but he'd be nicknamed Charlie rather than Chuck because that's what a french person would go for... nicknames don't work the same, yeah

Kimberly Wexler and James McGill, I have no idea lmao. James when translated becomes Jacques, but it's such a boomerish uncool name that I cannot resolve myself to call my boy like that. It's also one generation too old. Jimmy being born in '60 could technically be called Jacques, but it'd be old-fashioned, as it's a name mostly given to the kids of the decade that came before him. McGill is an irish name, so something funny could be making Jimmy a breton with a funky last name like Gall/LeGall ? That's hilarious to me. But who knows.

Saul Goodman is a pun, so this is even harder for me to conceptualize. Saul's marketing would definitely not work in france at all, as no one would realistically hire a lawyer with a puny name and such chaotic displays (+ I think ads for legal démarchage are illegal mind you). However, let's have a crack at it. It would have to be a pun based off an expression similar to "it's all good man", or implying something positive and familiar... I need to think on that one.

The way Zionists keep going on about 7th October is so fucking pathetic. Like considering the circumstances Al-Quassam fighters consistently show an incredible amount of mercy and restraint to their oppressors, far more than Israel has ever shown to them

And then being blocked so I can't respond and explain my thoughts. So you guys get to see my thoughts/rant on the subject. (Side note: as a word lover I can't help but admire the phrase "smug and invariably incorrect generalizations")

The thing that most probably invoked that reaction would be a poll I reblogged that has the option of: Lizzie/Darcy barely interact or know each other, let alone "love" each other. A post that wasn't made by that person, I might add.

In the tags I basically said I didn't agree with that take. And that it's the kind of thing someone who has only seen the movie would say. I can see how my wording came off as smug but I'm still going to stand by the gist of what I said. For these reasons:

1) There is not a conversation/interaction/knowledge quota a human being has to reach before they can feel love for someone.

2) You can learn a lot about a person based on how they treat the people/things around them, especially when taken as a whole rather than basing it off of a few observations.

Darcy observes Lizzie whenever she's in his line of sight, he has several conversations with her, they even stay in the same house for some time where he can see firsthand the love and care she has for her sister. Later Lizzie takes note of how he runs his estate, treats his servants and family, and the changes he makes from his first proposal. Darcy gets to see Lizzie interact with his sister and hear their opinions on the other. Just an incomplete list of the instances where they draw closer/grow in affection.

3) Like in most books not every scene and interaction is written out. Some are only mentioned in passing. So we do not know all the details or even the number of interactions/conversations they had.

They spend MONTHS being in the same areas, the same circles, the same rooms... talking to, walking/dancing with, observing, and, yes, learning about each other before mutually professing their love at the end of the book. I do not think they barely interacted (would love to see an interaction scale showing the various levels if it exists) nor do I think that the love they have for each other is fake or whatever.

And the reason I made my comment about the movie is because you can only fit a fraction of the scenes/info in a movie when adapting a book so I can see how someone could think that if they've only watched the movie. I personally don't get how anyone could come to that conclusion if they've read the book several times. But you know, my bad, I stand corrected.

Of course my views could possibly be bent by my autism so maybe neurotypicals do think conversing to, dancing with, and walking with someone periodically over the course of many months is barely interacting.
