Note
How's your sleep? Do you ever have to urgently fix an issue in the night?
I think the bags under my eyes speak to this question more than anything I could say.
Tumblr media
But yeah, if something in the life support goes down I am alerted immediately and have to hop in the EXO to get it fixed up. Minor stuff like air conditioning and the like will leave me until the morning before beeping and shouting at me. I swear, keeping this place running feels like 80% babysitting the equipment sometimes.

Writing Notes: Hypothermia
Hypothermia - A potentially fatal condition; occurs when body temperature falls below 95°F (35°C).
The danger signs include:
intense shivering;
stiffness and numbness in the arms and legs;
stumbling and clumsiness;
sleepiness, confusion, disorientation, amnesia, and irrational behavior; and
difficulty speaking.
The signs and symptoms of hypothermia follow a typical course, though the body temperatures at which they occur vary from person to person depending on age, health, and other factors.
The impact of hypothermia on the nervous system often becomes apparent quite early. Coordination, for instance, may begin to suffer as soon as body temperature reaches 95°F (35°C).
The early signs of hypothermia also include cold and pale skin and intense shivering; the latter stops between 90°F (32.2°C) and 86°F (30°C).
As body temperature continues to fall:
speech becomes slurred,
the muscles go rigid, and
the victim becomes disoriented and experiences eyesight problems.
Other harmful consequences include:
Dehydration
Liver and kidney failure
Heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure rise during the first stages of hypothermia, but fall once the 90°F (32.2°C) mark is passed.
Below 86°F (30°C) most victims are comatose, and
below 82°F (27.8°C) the heart’s rhythm becomes dangerously disordered.
However, even at very low body temperatures, people can survive for several hours and be successfully revived, though they may appear to be dead.
TREATMENT
Until emergency help arrives, a victim of outdoor hypothermia should be brought to shelter and warmed by:
removing wet clothing and footwear,
drying the skin, and
wrapping him or her in warm blankets or a sleeping bag.
Gentle handling is necessary when moving the victim to avoid disturbing the heart.
Rubbing the skin or giving the victim alcohol can be harmful.
Warm drinks such as clear soup and tea are recommended for those who can swallow.
Anyone who aids a victim of hypothermia should also look for signs of frostbite and be aware that attempting to rewarm a frostbitten area of the body before emergency help arrives can be extremely dangerous. For this reason, frostbitten areas must be kept away from heat sources such as campfires and car heaters.
Rewarming is the essence of hospital treatment for hypothermia.
How rewarming proceeds depends on the body temperature.
Other considerations, such as the patient’s age or the condition of the heart, can influence treatment choices.
Different approaches are used for patients who are:
mildly hypothermic (the patient’s body temperature is 90–95°F [32.2–35°C]),
moderately hypothermic (86–90°F [30–32.2°C]), or
severely hypothermic (less than 86°F [30°C]).
Mild Hypothermia
Reversed with passive rewarming.
This technique relies on the patient’s own metabolism to rewarm the body.
Once wet clothing is removed and the skin is dried, the patient is covered with blankets and placed in a warmroom.
The goal is to raise the patient’s temperature by 0.9–3.6°F (0.5–2°C) an hour.
Moderate Hypothermia
Often treated first with active external rewarming and then with passive rewarming.
Active external rewarming - applying heat to the skin (e.g., by placing the patient in a warm bath or wrapping the patient in electric heating blankets).
Severe Hypothermia
Requires active internal rewarming, which is recommended for some cases of moderate hypothermia as well.
There are several types of active internal rewarming:
Cardiopulmonary bypass - the patient’s blood is circulated through a rewarming device and then returned to the body, is considered the best, and can raise body temperature by 1.8–3.6°F (1–2°C) every 3–5 minutes. However, many hospitals are not equipped to offer this treatment. The alternative is to:
Introduce warm oxygen or fluids into the body.
Hypothermia treatment can also include, among other things:
insulin,
antibiotics, and
fluid replacement therapy.
When the heart has stopped, both cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and rewarming are necessary. Once a patient’s condition has stabilized, he or she may need treatment for an underlying problem such as alcoholism or thyroid disease.

Gender Critical Autistics
"… or other children seen as ‘different’ that are often viewed as having a problem in need of ‘solving’. Those so-called irregularities or abnormalities, supposedly in need of a cure, such as autism, have been over medicalised and problematised for centuries.
Mrs A’s child is not an unusual case. Autistic people are hugely overrepresented in referrals to gender identity clinics. The Tavistock’s own figures show that, although people with an autism spectrum condition (ASC) make up only 1.6% of the population, 35% of child referrals have moderate to severe ASC traits, and a further 13% have mild ASC traits.
As an autistic woman myself, I find the efforts to pathologise and medicalise us depressingly familiar. Stonewall, Mermaids and GIRES have all claimed that autistic traits may actually be evidence that a child is ‘really’ trans, and these traits may disappear with medical intervention. Stonewall and Mermaids both attempted to give evidence at the court case against the Tavistock. They were both were disallowed by the judge — presumably because of their lack of expertise in health. The material and financial existence of these organisations wholly relies on the continued existence of trans children. Mermaids (a self-proclaimed ‘trans kids charity’) needs gender nonconforming children to continue to buy into the notion that there is something fundamentally ‘wrong’ with them. For Stonewall, the need to categorise gender nonconforming children is more existential; for trans adults to exist there must theoretically be trans children.
Diane Ehrensaft, a child gender therapist in the United States, describes pre-verbal and non-verbal children tearing off uncomfortable clothing, or getting upset at uncomfortable hairstyles, as somehow reflecting an internal conflict and declares it to be a symptom of gender dysphoria. According to Ehrensaft, it is not external, material reality that causes the problem – uncomfortable clothing and uncomfortable hairstyles – but an internal essential problem. It is consistently female children who are forced into less practical, more uncomfortable clothing — as well as having our long hair tied up in decorative styles. Is it any wonder little girls reject the straight jacket of femininity? Beyond general discomfort, every autistic person I know (myself included) remembers having a ‘meltdown’ at being put into clothing that set off our sensory issues, or strongly reacting to having someone invade our personal space to style our hair. These are known autistic traits; yet they are being declared evidence for irreversible experimental medical treatment on children. Tony Attwood, an autism expert in Australia, where up to 50% of child gender clinic patients are autistic, recently called for “extreme caution” in this area.
This misconstrued link between autism and transgenderism also plays into the popular ‘extreme male brain’ theory proposed by Simon Baron-Cohen. Starting from an assumption that men and women have fundamentally different brain structures, Baron-Cohen argues that autistic people’s brains are much more ‘male’. This, of course, lends some credence to the ‘born in the wrong body’ essentialist description of gender identity which is currently being imposed on children. However, sexed brain differences have been debunked by neuroscientists such as Cordelia Fine in her book Delusions of Gender, and Gina Rippon’s The Gendered Brain.
This is not the first time autistic people have encountered movements claiming to ‘cure’ us, or attempting to sterilise us — but it is unusual to see both in one. The eugenics movement has a long history of trying to eradicate autistic people. In 1910, then home secretary Winston Churchill recommended sterilisation of ‘feebleminds’ for ‘the improvement of the British breed’. In the 1940s, Hans Asperger, a paediatrician and autism researcher, collaborated with German Nazi authorities by referring his child patients for execution under Aktion-T4, the programme that aimed to eradicate disabled people. My own diagnosis, Asperger Syndrome, is still named after Hans Asperger, with little mention of his barbaric views and murderous actions towards autistic people during his collaboration with the Nazis (Steve Silberman’s book Neurotribes covers this history thoroughly).
In the late 2000s, groups like Autism Speaks (which has no autistic board members) began to appear. Autism Speaks has been accused of pathologising autism and demonising autistic people and their families, which in turn led to the rise of autism acceptance, autism pride and autism self-advocacy movements. Autism Speaks and other such groups focused on genetic testing and screening for autism, which combined with their established attitudes to the condition became a cause for concern.
Today’s use of drugs and operations to impede sexual development is not the first-time disabled children have been given treatments similar to those used to ‘transition’ children. Ashley X, a severely disabled American child with static encephalopathy, was given hormone treatments to stunt her growth, and a hysterectomy and double mastectomy. The justification for this radical treatment was that if Ashley’s growth were restricted, her carers would find it easier to move her than if she were adult-sized, and after a hysterectomy they would not have to clean her menses, and breast amputation would make it more comfortable for her to be strapped into her wheelchair, and less vulnerable to sexual abuse.
When the case became known to the public, Arthur Caplan described this as ‘a pharmacological solution for a social failure’. This phrase is a perfect summary of all of the treatments directed at children who do not fit society’s mould. If Ashley, and all disabled people, were kept safe from sexual predators through proper safeguarding; if care work was properly valued and adequately provided to disabled adults; and if equipment for disabled people were more comfortable and suited to their owners, the question of the ‘Ashley Treatment’ would never have arisen.
Similarly, if there were no profit motive in medicine, there would be no material drive to pathologise neurodiverse people, gay men or lesbians, and otherwise gender nonconforming children in order to sell them the ‘cure’. Puberty blockers such as Lupron and Decapeptyl are sold off-label so the manufacturers can deny any legal responsibility for harm, while still making the sale.
Puberty blockers are a marked change from the ‘watchful waiting’ approach previously supported for gender dysphoric children. It is no coincidence this change arrived at a time of severe cuts to NHS mental health services, including child and adolescent mental health services, and a backlog of ever-growing waiting lists. The push to fast-track children onto dangerous medication without regard for safeguarding, as the Tavistock whistleblowers described, is a cost-saving exercise derived from a profit driven model. Rather than take the necessary time to support children with psychotherapy in order to treat any comorbid mental health conditions, private sector interests’ sector have seeped in, representing a wider neoliberalisation of the NHS.
The medicalisation of disabled, neurodiverse, and gender nonconforming children is driven by economic and political motives — not by consideration as to what is in their best interests. A Marxist approach to healthcare, that would entail the socialisation of caring for disabled people, and pharmaceutical manufacturing untethered from the market, would do away with the profit motive, remove any conflict of interest between the private and the public sector, and put patient need and interests first.
A material analysis of the restrictive gender stereotypes pushed onto children, inscribed early in childhood by sex-roles inside the family, as framed in Engels’ Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State, would lead to recognition of sex stereotypes as a form of social control. This control is designed to secure the sexual and social reproduction inside the heterosexual nuclear family, an institution which relies on gender norms being upheld. Its survival is tied to sexual normativity and therefore gender non-conformism is a threat to its existence. As Marxists we must clearly interrogate and oppose the ideological forces that pathologise children who, for whatever reason, don’t conform to dominant gender ideology. In fact, gender non-conformity should be actively encouraged and we would do well to do with the gender straight jacket altogether.
I hope for a return to the brief period in the late 2000s and early 2010s of autism acceptance, when the positives of our condition, and our gender nonconformity, was celebrated, rather than viewed as a disease to be fixed. We, the autistic community, are a proud that within our membership is so many great and accomplished people. We will not be eradicated."

⚕️Severe Trauma Protocol for Gallifreyans
For use on Gallifreyans and Time Lords only. Always seek your human advice from human health providers.
📖 Understanding Severe Trauma in Gallifreyans
Gallifreyan resilience is remarkable, but severe trauma remains a critical emergency. Due to their unique skeletal, circulatory, and nervous system structures, injuries can escalate rapidly if not addressed correctly. The Severe Trauma Protocol (STP) ensures structured assessment, stabilisation, and intervention while minimising complications unique to Gallifreyan physiology.
Key Considerations:
✔️ Higher risk of compartment syndrome due to denser circulatory & nerve networks.
✔️ Medullary 'motorway' injuries can cause rapid internal bleeding and respiratory complications.
✔️ Regeneration is NOT a first-line treatment—attempting to regenerate under unstable conditions can worsen injuries or lead to catastrophic failure.
✔️ Certain pain management techniques are unique to Gallifreyans, requiring a tailored approach.
✔️ Neurological injuries pose additional risks due to psionic function interplay—telepathic overload can complicate neurological assessments.
💥Pain Management in Severe Trauma
Gallifreyans possess unique methods of pain regulation, including nerve manipulation and endorphin control, but these techniques are limited for severe trauma. While minor injuries can be self-regulated, major trauma requires external analgesics and medical intervention.
📌 Pain Management Protocol:
Mild Pain: Paracetamol (2g every 4-6 hours).
Moderate Pain: Codeine (60-120mg every 4-6 hours) or tramadol (100-200mg every 6 hours).
Severe Pain: Morphine (10-20mg every 4 hours) or controlled healing coma.
Aspirin is NEVER to be used—severe anaphylaxis risk.
Emergency nerve block techniques may be considered for limb trauma and extreme pain cases.
🛑 Types of Severe Trauma & Immediate Management
1️⃣ Blunt Force Trauma
💥 Includes: Falls from height, vehicle impacts, physical combat. ⚠️ Risks: Internal bleeding, compartment syndrome, rib fractures, head trauma. 📌 Management:
Stabilise the spine and monitor for hidden fractures—Gallifreyan skin absorbs impact well, masking underlying skeletal damage.
Check for medullary bleeding—dark, thickened blood suggests severe internal trauma.
Administer fluids cautiously to avoid vascular overload.
Check for signs of latent telepathic shock—high-impact trauma can disrupt psionic pathways.
2️⃣ Penetrating Trauma
💥 Includes: Stab wounds, impalements, projectile injuries. ⚠️ Risks: Organ damage, haemorrhage, high infection risk. 📌 Management:
DO NOT remove deeply embedded objects—stabilise the object to prevent worsening of bleeding. It will work its way out on its own.
Use biological sealants for deep tissue damage—Gallifreyan wound healing can be accelerated with proper treatment.
Monitor for asynchronous heart activity—penetrating trauma may affect cardiac function.
Consider nerve suppression techniques to reduce excessive pain response.
3️⃣ Skeletal Trauma & Fractures
💥 Includes: Long bone fractures, spinal trauma, cranial injuries. ⚠️ Risks: Disrupted nerve function, prolonged healing, structural instability. 📌 Management:
Immobilise fractures immediately—Gallifreyan bones heal quickly but improperly if not set correctly.
Monitor for nerve damage—fractures near the shoulder nerve cluster can cause severe pain and paralysis.
Apply regenerative stabilisation techniques cautiously—improper healing may result in malformations.
Assess psionic coherence in cases of cranial trauma—brain injuries may induce temporary psionic instability.
4️⃣ Severe Burns & Radiation Exposure
💥 Includes: Plasma burns, time-radiation exposure, chemical burns. ⚠️ Risks: Tissue necrosis, hyperartronosis, systemic failure. 📌 Management:
Flush with sterile solution—time-energy burns require specialised decontamination.
Monitor for artron overload symptoms—increased energy absorption can trigger metabolic instability.
Assess psionic damage—radiation burns may disrupt telepathic function.
Consider metabolic stabilisation agents to counteract time-energy exposure.
5️⃣ Neurological Trauma & Psionic Overload
💥 Includes: Head trauma, telepathic shock, spinal cord injury. ⚠️ Risks: Psionic shutdown, memory fragmentation, neural instability. 📌 Management:
Assess consciousness WITHOUT relying on psionic input—young Gallifreyans may give false AVPTU results.
Monitor for telepathic seizures—spinal damage can cause neurological and psionic disruption.
Immobilise suspected spinal injuries—movement can cause irreversible psionic dysfunction.
Use psionic dampeners where needed to reduce neural overload.
📌 Key Points to Remember
Monitor metabolic changes post-stabilisation—Gallifreyan trauma can cause delayed systemic responses.
Use regeneration as a LAST RESORT—only if the patient is fully stabilised to prevent worsening injuries.
Assess psionic faculties in cases of prolonged unconsciousness—cognitive dysfunction may not always be physiological.

Altered States of Consciousness
I'm going to discuss different types of consciousness, most of which result from brain injury, and I'll also talk about inaccuracies I see in writing. Before we start, I need to give some definitions.
Arousal: this isn't the sexual sort, this is the general term that encompasses forebrain activation and the peripheral physiology (heart rate, pupils, etc.).
Alertness: This is a cognitive state that is marked by forebrain cortical activation. You're typically more alert when focusing on a task. Activities that increase alertness don't necessarily increase arousal, but some can (I could ramble on forever, I love this kind of shit).
Awareness: This means that someone is aware of what's going on. They are aware of a stimulus, they understand that they are processing that stimulus, and they are aware of their output towards that stimulus.
Coma
This is a state of low arousal and low response. This person will have an absence of eye, verbal, and motor response. They also will not have a normal sleep-wake cycle, and will usually need respiratory support. Comas can be medically induced or be due to lesions of the reticular activating system (part of the brain that makes us stay alert) or both cerebral hemispheres.
Practical stuff: people in a coma can sometimes breathe on their own, but I've only seen coma patients with a breathing tube, so I feel like it's less common. Also, if someone is in this state, you should look in their eyes and see if they can move them when you tell them to. That way you know they're not just locked in.
Persistent vegetative state (unresponsive wakefulness)
This person has moderate arousal but low awareness. They'll do things, like respond to stimuli, move/open their eyes, grind their teeth, etc. They also don't need respiratory support. If this state lasts longer than a year, it is very unlikely they will ever return to normal. This state can be very difficult for loved ones, as the person seems there, but they really aren't aware, they are just awake but unconscious.
Practical stuff: the reason that this is such a big deal legally (like whether you should pull the plug or not) is because these people can occasionally look at an object, and that may be misinterpreted as recognition. So even though they are doing things, they don't know why or what is happening. It's pretty sad to see families of these patients, especially when they believe that the person will eventually "just wake up."
Minimally conscious state
This person also has moderate arousal, but will be intermittently aware. Occasionally, they will show external indications that they are conscious. This can be responses to instructions, gesturing, some language use or verbalization (words and even phrases), and recognition of objects. Recovery from this state is rare, but it is possible. It can also be a transitional state after a vegetative state.
Practical stuff: this is a newer condition (like the name for it), but is probably one of the more common altered consciousnesses I've seen in media. I'll get into its confusion with catatonia in a second, but they're very different. Anyway, I want to note that for this condition, the patient may say a person's name when they see them, or gesture that they want something, but this is a fluctuating state. Other times they'll be a vegetable.
Catatonic state
This person will appear unresponsive, and this condition is mostly associated with psychosis and schizophrenia. There is no structural brain damage, and there will be none of the pupil/reflex abnormalities seen in other conditions. There will be resistance to movement, such as eye opening and limb placement, that is described as "waxy." This means that the limb will have some resistance as you move it, but will get easier to bend as you go. The person may also stay in uncomfortable postures for a long period of time (catalepsy) and can be positioned that way. They may also perform repetitive motions or echo words that are spoken to them (it's honestly a bit freaky to see this sort of thing).
Practical stuff: the biggest thing is confusing this with minimal consciousness. Catatonic states are characterized usually by their waxiness and relation to psychosis. People who are minimally conscious will still do things, say things, and be somewhat aware. I think 90% of the time, that is what you're looking for. I think the reason we see everyone being catatonic is because saying "she was catatonic" makes sense to people and rolls off the tongue a little better than "she was in a minimally conscious state." So I doubt this will change any time soon, and I don't even care if it does. I just want everyone to know that they're wrong (lol).
Locked-in syndrome
So in this condition, the person is fully aroused and aware, exactly how they would be in a normal awake state. This is because their reticular activating system is intact (the system that allows us to be alert). However, they are completely paralyzed (except for their eyes - due to area of the brain that allows for eye opening and movement being somewhere else). These people are completely normal conscious, but they just cannot move their body (literally one of the worst things I can imagine). Their senses are also still intact. This can be due to a bilateral stroke and severing of the motor tracts in the pons. It is also permanent.
*Cool note: the book The Diving Bell and the Butterfly was written by a man with locked-in syndrome using his eye movements to dictate it letter by letter.
Writing Tips
The main thing I will say to both writers and clinicians, is to put down the actual symptoms the patient is experiencing, rather than trying to name it a specific thing. So you may say the patient has minimal eyes tracking, is aroused, and can say short phrases rather than saying the patient is in a minimally conscious state. Consciousness is a spectrum, so it's best just to say what the hell the actual patient in question is doing.
Also, dumb it down and lay it out (which works with a lot of medical conditions) because it's easier to write and understand, in my opinion. So don't say "she was catatonic" (because you'd be WRONG), but maybe describe how the character just mumbles words occasionally or sometimes reacts to someone in the room while other times they don't. But, if you wanted to have someone who was actually catatonic, maybe write some weird fucking scene where they can be moved but they'll stay in an awkward position for a while, instead of just saying they're in a catatonic state. Because that means nothing. Describe the signs and symptoms instead of labeling the disease.
I've been reading a book (like a random novel), and they'll say a character has some random medical condition, so I'll have to stop and look it up because even I don't know what it is. So, in my opinion, don't try to sound smart, just say what the fuck you're talking about.
Anyways, thanks for reading my post. I hope to have some more neuro stuff. Maybe I'll talk about the RAS eventually.

Autopsy Report Name of Decedent: Riley Wilson Age: 21 years Date of Birth: [Redacted] Date of Death: [Redacted] Case Number: [Redacted] Performed by: Dr. [Redacted] Date of Autopsy: [Redacted]
Circumstances of Death
Riley Wilson, a 21-year-old male college student, was reportedly exercising vigorously in the gym when he suddenly collapsed. Witnesses stated that he was engaging in intense weightlifting, accompanied by a significant level of physical exertion. Emergency medical personnel arrived on scene promptly and attempted resuscitation, but all efforts were unsuccessful. His death was pronounced at the gym.
External Examination
Clothing and Personal Effects:
Gym Attire: Decedent was wearing a pair of athletic shoes, gym shorts, and a baseball cap.
Accessories: He had on a pair of lifting gloves. An Apple Watch was on his left wrist, showing recent workout activity, and his cell phone was located nearby with various gym-related applications open.
Physical Description: The decedent was a well-developed, muscular young man, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 190 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. His skin showed no evidence of injury or trauma beyond minor abrasions on his hands, consistent with weightlifting.
Internal Examination
Cardiovascular System
A detailed examination of Riley Wilson’s heart revealed significant abnormalities indicative of a genetic cardiovascular defect. His heart was notably enlarged, with a weight of 520 grams—considerably heavier than expected for an individual of his age and build. The myocardial tissue displayed focal areas of fibrosis, particularly in the left ventricular wall, suggestive of long-standing cardiomyopathy, likely the result of an undiagnosed genetic condition.
Coronary Arteries: The coronary arteries were severely compromised. Although the arteries themselves were not heavily occluded by plaque, there was evidence of excessive thickening in the walls, characteristic of a genetic condition leading to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. This thickening likely obstructed adequate blood flow, even under normal conditions, but particularly during strenuous physical activity.
Ventricular Wall and Septum: The left ventricular wall and interventricular septum were both hypertrophic, measuring 2.5 cm and 2.8 cm in thickness, respectively—well above the typical 1.2 cm. This degree of thickening is consistent with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a condition that increases susceptibility to life-threatening arrhythmias, especially under stress.
Myocardial Condition: Microscopic analysis of the myocardium revealed disorganized muscle fibers, along with areas of scar tissue, confirming long-standing fibrosis. Fibrotic tissue disrupted the otherwise smooth cardiac muscle, a classic indication of genetic hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. In several sections, clusters of damaged myocytes were observed, demonstrating substantial cellular stress and wear.
Lungs
Both lungs were moderately congested, with fluid accumulation indicative of acute pulmonary edema, likely due to left-sided heart failure precipitated by the sudden cardiac arrest. The left lung weighed 480 grams, while the right lung weighed 510 grams.
Other Organs
All other major organs, including the liver, kidneys, and spleen, appeared grossly normal upon inspection, though some displayed signs of mild congestion as a secondary effect of the heart failure.
Cause of Death
Cause of Death: Cardiac arrest secondary to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a genetic condition.
Contributing Factors: The decedent's intense physical activity at the time of collapse likely precipitated the fatal heart arrhythmia. His heart’s structural abnormalities, including the severe ventricular thickening and myocardial fibrosis, greatly increased his risk of sudden cardiac death under stress.
Conclusion
Riley Wilson’s death was a tragic and sudden event triggered by undiagnosed hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. This genetic condition resulted in severe myocardial and ventricular abnormalities, which under intense physical exertion led to a catastrophic heart failure.

ALRIGHT I was gonna talk about this like a month ago but I forgor
Vocal digitalization is a very common condition in shapes, affecting around 35% of the total population. It has four distinct levels of intensity, and is basically when a shape's voice is naturally robotic or retro-sounding, and in rare cases can also have a natural autotune. Low intensity vocal digitalization is often harmless, and can even be beneficial in the perspective of some shapes.
The four levels of vocal digitalization are very distinct: light, moderate, heavy, and severe.
Light cases of vocal digitalization are often harmless to the shape. Their voice may sound slightly robotic, and they have a very large range of notes they can easily hit. Along with that, they also seem to have higher stamina in electronically charged areas of Paradise.
Moderate cases of vocal digitalization can be more prominent. The shape tends to have a very robotic voice, often sounding like chiptune. Talking can sometimes be difficult, as if the condition flares up, other shapes often can't understand what they're saying. These shapes can also make more erratic and quick movements, and can even weaponize their voice. Shapes with moderate or higher vocal digitalization can disorient other shapes without the condition, because when they scream it can sound like sharp chiptune effects, they often bounce through the air in a way that makes other shapes dizzy.
Heavy vocal digitalization has more downsides that benefits. Shapes with this often can't talk coherently, and their voices are almost completely robotic. Their own voices can become dizzying to them, though some shapes are more or less affected than others. A scream from a shape with heavy vocal digitalization can easily inflict headaches and disorient others, and of course that includes the shape screaming. Along with that, these shapes tend to have more difficulty breathing unless they're in electronically charged areas. Because of this, these shapes often have special devices if they aren't often in charged areas (they're basically special inhalers, that kind of resemble a Gameboy).
Finally, severe vocal digitalization. This level of extremity is very rare and quite dangerous. Shapes with this level can't at all be understood, their voices completely incoherent and sounding like nothing more than retro sound effects. The digital sounds are strong enough that it can be heard in their breathing, which can cause headaches to be a common occurrence. The digitalization is so strong that it's a chore to talk (or try to) any louder than the average talking volume, trying to go any louder often causes the shape to become lightheaded.
With how common the condition is, there's of course many ways that have been developed to help shapes out with the higher levels of digitalization. Along with the special inhalers, moderate and severe level shapes can get special translators that attach to their neck. They help correct the voice and make it so they can talk to others. Having this translator on for too long though can cause overheating, so it's advised to only use them while trying to talk. Heavy and severe level shapes also often wear strong headphones to tune out the sounds.
Some smaller things to note, shapes that could disorient others with their voice don't effect others with the condition as much. It depends on the level, but light and moderate levels are often very tolerant to the sharp sound. Low levels of vocal digitalization are also often wanted by many shapes, as a lot of shapes like the natural robotic sound, especially ones that like to sing. For those shapes though, there's external ways to achieve the sound, often through a microphone setting. Shapes that have a genetic history of vocal digitalization can also learn to make the sounds over time, even if they don't have the condition themselves. Being able to make these sound effects is also extremely sought after by many shapes.
One last thing, the four original heroes of Paradise all have light vocal digitalization. Cyanide, being part corrupt energy, has moderate.

Left in the cold for too long, dogs can develop hypothermia, a dangerous condition that occurs when the core body temperature drops too low. For dogs, mild hypothermia begins to set in when their body temperature drops below 99° Fahrenheit.
Frostbite can also become an issue at extremely low temperatures. If left untreated, hypothermia can also result in cardiac and respiratory failure, brain damage, coma, and even death.
Mild hypothermia: body temperature of 90 – 99°F
Moderate hypothermia: body temperature of 82 – 90°F
Severe hypothermia: any temperature less than 82°F
Signs of Hypothermia in Dogs
Shivering and curling up for warmth are some of the first signs of mild hypothermia in dogs. Other signs to watch out for include the following:
Increased heart rate, followed by a slow heart rate.
Rapid breathing, followed by progressively slower and shallower breath.
Sluggishness and delayed reflexes.
Depression.
Paleness.
Dilated pupils.
Loss of consciousness.
What Dogs Are Susceptible to Hypothermia?
While most dogs will only experience hypothermia in cold temperatures, newborn puppies can suffer from hypothermia in normal temperatures. Small dogs, senior dogs, puppies, and short-coated dogs are at a higher risk of rapid loss of body heat.
Treating Hypothermia in Dogs
If you suspect your dog may be suffering from hypothermia, bring your dog somewhere warm if possible and contact your vet immediately.
A dog with hypothermia will be treated until they reach a normal body temperature. Minimize your dog’s movement while they are being warmed up.
Mild hypothermia can typically be treated with insulation and blankets.
Moderate hypothermia will require active external heat sources such as radiant heat (in addition to a protective layer such as a sweater).
Severe hypothermia requires invasive core warming, such as warm IV fluids.
Preventing Hypothermia in Dogs
A warm dog jacket or sweater and dog booties will help minimize the risk of hypothermia in dogs. However, clothing for your dog should never be used on an unattended dog or as a substitute for proper care, but rather as an adjunct. In general, it is safer for pets to be in an area where temperatures can be controlled.
Make sure your dog is dry before taking them out for a walk. If a dog is wet or damp, these areas are more vulnerable to frostbite. Keep winter walks short when possible and limit time outdoors in extreme cold.
When in doubt, always consult your veterinarian.

Do you have any little personal projects to keep yourself busy outside of your regular work?
Yeah absolutely! My current side project is this arm mounted “plasma shear”. My main work involves a lot of plant life, which can sometimes get out of control. A machete has to be sharpened and serviced, this blade is sharp, trustworthy, and can be especially precise for specific pruning duties.
Tumblr media
Also if you’re my boss reading this, I promise this is all done after I’ve clocked out for the day haha. I just like substituting my down time with… more work…
But yeah, having a lot of fun with this model! Not pictured is the clunky battery pack that I can strap to my back, but I’m working on its efficiency! And honestly, being able to have a cool laser sword is worth the extra work ;P

SOME NOT SAFE FOR TUMBLR HEADCANONS ABOUT LUTE,
Lute instinctively leans into restrained environments: tight spaces, nitrile gloved hands, fabric pulled taut against her, the stillness she feels when held in place elicit arousal [ depending on who is doing this ] Being physically restrained [ by words, pressure, or position ] paradoxically lowers her internal alertness. She misreads submission as stability; her body / mind registers this as safe,
If one pays close attention, her voice changes under stress; especially under intimacy. The closer the proximity, the more animalistic she becomes; speech gives way to First Gen patterns: clipped commands, low growls, shrieking, instinct over intention; linguistic control utterly collapses & resets to a primal state,
Her focus locks onto repetitive movement: slow biting, thumb circles, jaw tension. She can watch someone fidget with a lip or press into a palm & lose track of time. These gestures stimulate instinctive recognition patterns tied to observation-training loops. She finds them ‘useful’ & hypnotizing without fully understanding why, [ she can watch her partner masturbate for eternity without getting bored ]
She is highly reactive to close-range vocal frequencies. Whispered words, especially just below the ear, trigger chemical irregularities in her system: flush responses, optical flutter, unstable breathing patterns. In her correctional phase, verbal commands were issued during near-skin contact. Her system reads soft speaking as a command-layer override, [ whisper that she is 'exceeding expectations' in her ear, or command her to do something ]
Lute has no concept of moderation in affection: if allowed to feel, she wants all of it at once or none at all. She’ll oscillate between total detachment & unnervingly intense fixation; pressing close, memorizing pulse points, scent markers, breath patterns. ‘Needy’ doesn’t describe it exactly, it’s more like… she’s imprinting you without realizing it, committing you to her memory
Because her body was engineered for sanctified violence, any desire she feels outside combat registers as deviant. Lute treats arousal like a software fault: something to be compartmentalized or weaponized; the thought of wanting without function is foreign… & secretly addictive. She often interprets longing as malfunction,
She responds more positively to obedience than to romantic stimulus. External approval [ especially from figures perceived as higher-order ] triggers a conditioned behavioral pattern rooted in early Exorcist programming: perform, prove, maintain worth. Intimacy tends to be misclassified in her system unless framed as evaluation, [ the more you praise her, the better she will perform ]
Being praised for anything non-functional [ beauty, softness, tenderness ] makes her very confused & flustered. These types of compliments are not tied to output [ obedience, lethality, precision ] & bypass her reward system, hitting something rawer, buried. Sometimes she repeats the phrase later in private, like trying to parse a riddle. She isn’t accustomed to being complimented sincerely [ outside of commentary on her performance & combat skills ]
She will never initiate [ cough, debatable, cough ] out of theological hesitation. If instructed to touch, to respond, to stay, she will; but always with a pause. Her mind searches for confirmation that this is allowed, but the moment someone provides the green light, it’s over… [ there may be certain trigger words that can activate a more active state ]

I am autistic. That is a neurodivergent trait, but not a mental disorder.
I have OCD. That is a neurodivergent trait which is also a mental disorder.
Neurodivergent refers to a recognizable variance in neural/mental function from the typical norm, which causes a variety of different behaviours, experiences, and capabilities. Neurodivergence is often innate but can also be acquired through either significant physical or mental/emotional trauma.
A mental disorder or illness is a neurodivergence or other atypical difference of thought, emotion, or behaviour which directly causes significant distress and impaired functioning. Mental disorders can develop through a combination of innate genetic factors and situational exposure to things like trauma in one’s environment.
Thus, mental disorders and illnesses are neurodivergent traits, but not all neurodivergent traits are mental disorders or illnesses.
Me being autistic is defined by certain differences in how my brain is structured and functions from what is standard in most/non-autistic people, causing my subjective experience and behaviour to also differ accordingly. These differences are not inherently negative as in they do not have a wholly or definitively distressing effect on my mental/emotional well-being, nor my ability to function and live my life. Sometimes being autistic can cause distress and/or impairment, but those instances do not compose the whole of it and are often caused by external factors and not as an inherent quality of being autistic in itself.
Me having OCD is defined by me having involuntary and intrusive negative thoughts/feelings and the subsequent need to do specific and repetitive rituals to alleviate these thoughts/feelings, despite how these rituals can negatively effect me in different aspects. I am fortunate in that my OCD is rather moderate and manageable, but my OCD is, in itself, a condition which causes distress and impairs functioning by its own nature, which are the defining qualities that make it a mental disorder.
Thus, me being autistic and having OCD are both neurodivergent traits, but only having OCD is a mental disorder. And that is a hugely important distinction for me personally (and many other neurodivergent people) and on an overall practical level for general understanding and clinical treatment.

for maximum, most extreme body function, what is the ideal environment for a time lord fresh out of regeneration and in the moulding period to be in?
What's the ideal environment for a Time Lord during the moulding period?
Fresh out of regeneration, a Time Lord's body is like a work-in-progress sculpture—it has the framework, but the final design can still change. The environment they inhabit during regeneration and through the moulding period can influence their physical traits, durability, and biological efficiency.
🌀 The Zero Room: Optimal Stability
The Zero Room is the gold standard for recovery. Designed to be perfectly neutral, it provides a calming, stable environment free of external stimuli. This allows the regeneration process to unfold smoothly, reducing the likelihood of erratic or dangerous adaptations. While it's not where you'd go to be Superman, it gives the best long-term stability for the new body.
🌍 Extreme Environments and Adaptation
For maximum, extreme body function, environments that challenge the body to adapt could push the limits of Time Lord physiology:
High-Mavity Environments: Spending time in high-mavity conditions might lead to denser bones, stronger musculature, and enhanced physical durability in atmospheres with less mavity.
Low-Oxygen Atmospheres: Regenerating in low-oxygen environments could optimise respiratory efficiency, potentially creating a body capable of thriving in oxygen-poor conditions for extended periods.
Variable Temperatures: Exposure to extreme temperature fluctuations might enhance the body's ability to regulate heat and cold, which would be useful for missions in harsh environments.
💨 Avoid Extreme Conditions Without Oxygen
While extreme conditions could be beneficial in moderation, environments completely devoid of oxygen are a potential train wreck. If a Time Lord regenerates and moulds in an atmosphere filled with, say, Space Gas #237 instead of oxygen, their body might adapt to process that specific gas. This could mean they'd lose the ability to breathe oxygen-rich atmospheres like Earth's, limiting them across a wide range of environments.
🔬 Other Factors
Biochemical Environment: A good diet filled with the right amino acids, artron-rich particles, and other energy sources could further enhance the regeneration process and possibly improve nutrient absorption long-term.
Radiation Levels: Exposure to low doses of non-lethal radiation could theoretically enhance certain regenerative processes and radiation resistance. However, this is highly speculative and not advisable unless you have a very robust understanding of Gallifreyan biology.
🏫 So ...
The ideal environment depends on the desired outcome:
For extreme adaptability and performance, environments with high mavity, low oxygen, or temperature variability might push the body's limits. However, these come with risks—unpredictable changes or dependencies on specific conditions could limit functionality elsewhere.
For long-term stability and safety, a neutral, controlled space like the Zero Room is always the best choice.
In the end, extreme experiments in regeneration and moulding are best left to the foolishly reckless.

White Fang Thread, Drabbles, Other Ideas
Tumblr media Tumblr media
General Info.
The White Fang, a Faunus organization in the world of Remnant from the series RWBY, was established following the Faunus Rights Revolution as a symbol of peace and unity between Humans and Faunus. Despite its initial goal of fostering camaraderie, persistent discrimination against Faunus led the group to become a political voice for their people.
Under High Leader Ghira Belladonna, the White Fang pursued nonviolent activism, organizing mass rallies and boycotts against discriminatory institutions, notably the Schnee Dust Company (SDC), infamous for its exploitative labor practices. Key members like Adam Taurus, who was scarred by SDC abuse, and Ilia Amitola, driven by the loss of her parents in an SDC mining accident, joined during this period. However, the slow progress of peaceful protests frustrated many, leading to internal tensions. After Adam killed a Human to save Ghira—an act Ghira condemned but others, including Sienna Khan, praised—Ghira lost support and stepped down, with Sienna succeeding him approximately five years before RWBY Volume 1. Ghira and his wife Kali relocated to Menagerie, while their daughter Blake remained with the White Fang.
Under Sienna Khan, the organization radicalized, adopting a militant stance to achieve equality through strength and retributive violence. Tactics included firebombing discriminatory businesses, sabotaging operations mistreating Faunus, and targeting SDC associates. Sienna appointed Adam as leader of the Vale branch, where his methods grew increasingly extreme, prompting Blake to leave after a train heist in Forever Fall due to her disagreement with the group’s escalating violence. The White Fang’s actions yielded results but bred fear rather than respect among Humans and alienated moderate Faunus, who viewed the group as a cult.
The organization’s Vale branch later aligned with Cinder Fall, a Human operative, after she offered resources and threatened destruction. This partnership led to a “joint business venture” with criminal Roman Torchwick, involving Dust robberies and escalating tensions in Vale. The White Fang established a base in Mountain Glenn, planning to detonate a train to unleash Grimm into Vale, though this plot was thwarted by Team RWBY and Huntsmen. During the Vytal Festival, Adam’s faction participated in a massive assault on Beacon Academy, releasing Grimm and attacking students, marking a peak in their terrorist activities.
Sienna’s leadership ended when Adam, backed by Salem’s envoy Hazel Rainart, assassinated her and seized control, aiming to dominate Humanity under a Faunus supremacist regime. His plans included an attack on Haven Academy, supported by the Menagerie branch led by the Albain brothers, Corsac and Fennec, who also targeted the Belladonna family. These efforts failed due to Blake’s intervention, a militia from Menagerie, and Ilia’s defection, leaving the White Fang fragmented.
The White Fang’s structure featured a centralized High Leader, with autonomous branch leaders like Adam in Vale and the Albain brothers in Menagerie. Members wore uniforms with Grimm masks, symbolizing Humanity’s demonization of Faunus. Equipment ranged from standard weapons like pistols and rifles to advanced tech like Bullhead aircraft and stolen Atlesian Paladin mechs, though most fighters relied on numbers rather than skill. The group’s evolution from peaceful activism to terrorism reflects its response to systemic oppression, shaped by its leaders’ ideologies and external influences like Salem’s faction.
Traits
Resentment of Exploitative Labor Practices: The SDC’s notorious use of Faunus labor in harsh, unsafe conditions, such as mines, fueled White Fang animosity, exemplified by Adam Taurus’s facial branding from SDC abuse. Symbol of Human Oppression: The SDC, led by the Schnee family, represented systemic discrimination against Faunus, making it a prime target for White Fang protests and attacks. Personal Grievances: Members like Ilia Amitola joined after personal tragedies tied to the SDC, such as her parents’ death in a mining accident, intensifying the group’s vendetta. Targeted Violence: Under Sienna Khan, the White Fang conducted raids, abductions, and assassinations against SDC associates and executives to retaliate for Faunus mistreatment. Ideological Conflict: The White Fang viewed the Schnee family, particularly heiress Weiss Schnee, as complicit in perpetuating anti-Faunus policies, though Blake later challenged exaggerated claims like their supposed goal of human extermination. Strategic Attacks: Actions like hijacking SDC cargo trains in Forever Fall under Adam’s leadership aimed to disrupt the company’s operations and weaken its influence. (Like they hate the Schnees, Weiss being a major example with Banesaw (The second in command to Adam) trying to chainsaw her)
Questions and Maybe Answers?
Did the White Fang exist before Ghira Belladonna’s leadership?
No canonical evidence confirms the White Fang’s existence prior to Ghira’s leadership. It was founded after the Faunus Rights Revolution as a symbol of peace between Humans and Faunus, with Ghira as its first known High Leader.
The organization’s origins are tied to post-revolution efforts, suggesting it formed under or shortly before Ghira’s tenure to address ongoing discrimination.
Do Faunus civilians generally support the White Fang?
Support among Faunus civilians is mixed. The White Fang attracted many disaffected Faunus, especially those harmed by discrimination, as seen in secret recruitment meetings where large numbers joined.
However, moderate Faunus, like Sun Wukong, viewed the White Fang as a cult using excessive force, indicating a divide. Under Sienna and Adam, their violent tactics alienated some Faunus, who feared reprisals or disagreed with their methods.
Civilians in Menagerie showed some eagerness to join or support Ghira’s rebuilt, peaceful White Fang after Haven, suggesting appeal for a nonviolent approach. However White Fang is also fine with Menagerie seemigly operating with no problem
The citizens of Menagerie, previously neutral to the state of affairs, are instead so furious with Adam for turning on his own kind that they rally behind Blake to help her stop him from destroying Haven Academy.
What became of the White Fang after the Battle of Haven?
After Adam’s failed attack on Haven and his subsequent death, the White Fang fragmented into smaller groups, with many members surrendering or abandoning the cause.
Ghira and Kali Belladonna aimed to rebuild the organization as a peaceful activist group, absorbing remnants of the White Fang. However, no large-scale, onscreen efforts are shown post-Haven.
In Atlas/Mantle, where Faunus discrimination was severe, no organized White Fang or alternative Faunus rights movements are depicted, leaving the Belladonnas’ efforts offscreen and vague.
Lack of organized Faunus civil rights efforts beyond the White Fang and Belladonnas:
The White Fang (violent resistance) and Belladonnas (peaceful protests) are the primary onscreen Faunus rights movements. No other large-scale, organized efforts are shown, even in discrimination-heavy Atlas/Mantle.
After Sienna and Adam’s deaths, the absence of visible, coordinated Faunus rights campaigns suggests a narrative gap, with the Belladonnas’ work implied but not depicted.
This highlights a focus on the White Fang’s story over broader Faunus civil rights struggles, limiting exploration of other potential movements.
Who was Sienna Khan, and why is her role limited?
Sienna Khan was the High Leader of the White Fang after Ghira, succeeding him when he stepped down due to losing support. She led the group into a militant phase, advocating retributive violence to combat discrimination.
Key traits: She rejected Ghira’s pacifism, authorized attacks like firebombing and SDC raids, and appointed Adam as Vale’s branch leader. She was pragmatic but opposed unprovoked escalation, like Adam’s Beacon attack.
Her limited role stems from her assassination by Adam in Volume 5, orchestrated with Salem’s backing. She appears briefly in flashbacks and is mentioned in dialogue, but her death early in the series curtails her onscreen presence.
Her character provides context for the White Fang’s radicalization but is underdeveloped due to the focus on Adam’s arc and the Belladonnas’ redemption efforts.

Starhead Industrial Company (SIC) Overview
SIC is a fictional corporation in RWBY: The Session, set between Volumes 1 and 2, operating on Sapang Island. Its mechanical animal drones and advanced technology suggest industrial prowess, but its darker purpose under Fort Lee’s leadership aligns it with anti-Faunus oppression.
The alliance with the White Fang predates Fort Lee’s tenure as CEO, likely involving arms trading, as Roman Torchwick supplied SIC equipment to the White Fang. This partnership soured when Fort Lee’s anti-Faunus agenda became clear, prompting Blake to exploit the White Fang’s knowledge of the island to disrupt SIC’s operations.
SIC’s resort island served as a facade for a Faunus enslavement operation, using surveillance drones, trackers, and jammers to trap victims in a facility called “The Cage” for slave labor. This mirrors real-world corporate exploitation but is exaggerated for the RWBY narrative.
Fort Lee’s Character and Motivations
Fort Lee, a former Beacon Academy student expelled for anti-Faunus bullying, embodies human supremacist ideology. His founding of the Silver Bullet Brotherhood and rise to SIC’s CEO reflect a calculated escalation of his prejudice into systemic oppression.
His personal loss—his son’s murder by the White Fang—fuels his vendetta, creating a cycle of retribution. This mirrors Adam Taurus’s trauma-driven extremism, highlighting a thematic parallel between human and Faunus radicals.
Fort Lee’s use of an arm cannon and direct confrontation with Team RWBY suggest combat training, possibly from his Beacon days, but his reliance on technology (drones, security systems) indicates a strategic rather than purely physical threat.
His presumed death in the mine collapse, orchestrated by Torchwick’s hack, leaves his fate ambiguous, a common RWBY trope for villains. His failure to flee in favor of targeting Blake underscores his obsessive hatred, akin to Adam’s fixation on Blake.
Silver Bullet Brotherhood’s Role
The Brotherhood is a secret society of wealthy humans advocating Faunus subjugation, contrasting the White Fang’s Faunus supremacist faction under Adam. Their elitist ideology, rooted in bloodlines and class, positions them as a foil to the White Fang’s grassroots radicalism.
Operating covertly, unlike the White Fang’s open militancy, the Brotherhood’s low profile enhances their menace, reflecting real-world clandestine supremacist groups. Their enslavement and trafficking operations on Sapang Island amplify their villainy.
The group’s collapse after Fort Lee’s defeat and SIC’s exposure suggests limited reach beyond Sapang, but their influence on Faunus prisoners joining the White Fang indicates lasting consequences.
White Fang’s Involvement
The White Fang’s attack on Sapang Island, triggered by Blake’s tip, aligns with their militant phase under Sienna Khan or Adam Taurus, focusing on freeing Faunus prisoners. This action contrasts their earlier alliance with SIC, highlighting their opposition to human supremacist oppression despite their own extremist tendencies.
The implication that freed Faunus joined the White Fang for revenge suggests the organization’s appeal to traumatized victims, reinforcing its role as a radical outlet for Faunus anger. This complicates their narrative as antagonists, showing their actions can stem from justifiable grievances.
Roman Torchwick’s role as a double-dealer, supplying SIC and later betraying them, underscores his opportunistic nature, consistent with his canon portrayal in Volume 2.
Thematic Connections to RWBY Canon
The SIC-White Fang alliance and subsequent conflict echo the White Fang’s canon partnerships (e.g., with Cinder Fall, Roman Torchwick), where Faunus goals are manipulated by external actors. Fort Lee’s enslavement scheme parallels the Schnee Dust Company’s labor abuses, reinforcing the White Fang’s anti-corporate stance.
The Silver Bullet Brotherhood serves as a rare depiction of a human supremacist group, addressing a gap in RWBY’s main series where Faunus discrimination is often discussed but rarely shown through organized human opposition. Their extremism mirrors Adam’s faction, suggesting a cycle of mutual radicalization.
Iona’s defection after learning her father’s role in Faunus enslavement parallels Ilia Amitola’s arc, emphasizing redemption through rejecting hateful ideologies. This reinforces RWBY’s theme of personal growth amidst systemic conflict.
Narrative Context and Limitations
RWBY: The Session is side media, not main canon, which explains its limited integration into the broader RWBY narrative. The novel’s focus on a self-contained island plot allows for exploring human supremacist villains without altering the main series’ trajectory.
The lack of follow-up on SIC or the Brotherhood in the main series aligns with the my observation that organized Faunus rights efforts, beyond the White Fang and Belladonnas, are rarely depicted post-Haven. This suggests a narrative prioritization of Team RWBY’s adventures over systemic issues.
Fort Lee’s ambiguous fate and the Brotherhood’s dissolution leave room for fan speculation, common in RWBY side stories, but the novel’s epilogue ties up major threads by confirming SIC’s downfall and the prisoners’ release. (This raises further questions as they are never brought up again I'll go more into them in another post)
Ideas Kinda Implemented
The White Fang: A Comprehensive Overview
General History and Evolution
Origins and Initial Mission: The White Fang was founded after the Faunus Rights Revolution as a symbol of peace and unity between Faunus and humans, aiming to bridge divides through diplomacy and advocacy. This idealistic phase, led by figures like Ghira Belladonna, focused on nonviolent protests, boycotts, and rallies against discriminatory institutions, particularly the Schnee Dust Company (SDC).
Cycle of Revenge: Persistent human discrimination, exemplified by SDC’s exploitative labor practices and tragedies like Ilia Amitola’s parents’ death in an SDC mine, eroded the White Fang’s pacifist ideals. The organization became a political voice for Faunus grievances, but the failure of peaceful methods led to radicalization.
Shift to Militancy: Five years before RWBY Volume 1, under Sienna Khan’s leadership, the White Fang abandoned banners for bombs, adopting a militant anti-human agenda. This shift was cemented by Adam Taurus’s extremist faction, which escalated to terrorism and Faunus supremacist goals, secretly backed by Salem’s inner circle.
Modern Context: By the series’ start, the White Fang is a fragmented paramilitary group, with ideologies ranging from reformist to genocidal. Its actions, including Dust robberies, Grimm attacks, and assaults on institutions like Beacon Academy, have made it a global antagonist, though its core grievance—Faunus oppression—remains a complex moral issue.
Structure and Operations
Hierarchical Organization: The White Fang operates with a centralized High Leader (e.g., Ghira, Sienna, Adam) overseeing autonomous regional branches (e.g., Vale, Menagerie). Branch leaders, like Adam in Vale or the Albain brothers in Menagerie, have operational freedom, leading to ideological and tactical diversity.
Marshals and Lieutenants: A cadre of elite operatives, dubbed “Marshals” serve as ideological enforcers and field commanders, each embodying a distinct emotion or motive (e.g., Joy, Hatred). Lieutenants, like Adam’s Lieutenant or Banesaw, handle tactical operations.
Recruitment and Training: The White Fang recruits disaffected Faunus through secret meetings, exploiting personal traumas (e.g., Ilia’s loss, Adam’s SDC branding). Training occurs in hidden bases like Mountain Glenn, focusing on guerrilla tactics, Dust manipulation, and weapon use. Some members, like Adam, are skilled fighters, but most rely on numbers and surprise.
Equipment and Resources: Members use mass-produced weapons (pistols, rifles, swords) and stolen tech like Atlesian Paladin mechs or Bullhead aircraft. The White Fang’s alliance with figures like Roman Torchwick and Salem provided Dust and funding, though internal corruption and external betrayal (e.g., Torchwick’s double-dealing) strained resources.
Notable Locations: Key bases include Mountain Glenn (Vale’s abandoned expansion, used for the Breach plot) and Menagerie (a Faunus haven and hub for the Albain brothers’ covert operations). Unlike the MLA’s Deika City, these are less centralized, reflecting the White Fang’s decentralized structure.
Ideological Spectrum
The White Fang’s unity is tenuous, held by the High Leader’s authority and shared resentment of human oppression. Like the MLA’s Moderates, Centrists, and Radicals, the White Fang comprises diverse factions with varying stances on humans and goals. Below is a spectrum of ideologies, addressing the:
Human-Friendly Reformists: Some members, echoing Ghira’s original vision, seek coexistence and advocate for Faunus rights through dialogue. They view humans as potential allies and reject violence, though they’re marginalized within the militant White Fang.
Neutral Pragmatists: These Faunus are nuanced, distrusting humans but open to cooperation if it advances Faunus interests. They focus on practical goals like dismantling oppressive institutions (e.g., SDC, Starhead Industrial Company) rather than ideological purity.
Sienna’s Loyalists: Adherents to Sienna Khan’s philosophy of retributive violence, they use targeted attacks (e.g., SDC raids, firebombing) to force human respect through fear. They reject Adam’s supremacism but see violence as necessary for equality.
Anti-Corporate Crusaders: A significant faction despises corporations like the SDC and Starhead Industrial Company for exploiting Faunus labor. Their actions, like hijacking SDC trains or attacking Starhead’s island, prioritize economic disruption over racial ideology.
Faunus Supremacists: Inspired by Adam Taurus, these members seek Faunus dominance, viewing humans as inherently inferior. They range from those advocating segregation to extremists plotting human enslavement or genocide.
Genocidal Extremists: The most radical, worse than Adam, aim to eradicate humans entirely. They see the White Fang as a tool for total war, often clashing with less extreme factions over strategy and morality.
Opportunistic Criminals: Some join for personal gain, using the White Fang’s chaos to commit crimes like theft or extortion. They lack ideological commitment, prioritizing profit over Faunus rights.
Trauma-Driven Recruits: Many, like Ilia, are groomed into the White Fang after personal tragedies (e.g., SDC abuses). Their motives are less ideological, driven by anger and reliance on the group as a surrogate family.

Like the MLA’s critique as a “wasted opportunity” in My Hero Academia, the White Fang’s post-Haven dissolution leaves Faunus rights unresolved. The Belladonnas’ offscreen efforts suggest a reformist revival, but the lack of onscreen movements mirrors the MLA’s absorption into the Paranormal Liberation Front, sidelining their original cause.

The CEO of the Sofia Commodity Exchange, Vasil Simov, dismissed speculation about any dramatic price hikes on the market, stating that current conditions do not support such developments. Speaking on market trends in agricultural goods such as wheat, corn, sunflower, and oil, Simov stressed that barring major geopolitical disruptions - especially wars - the market situation is expected to remain stable at least through the end of summer.
According to him, the recent global wheat harvest exceeded 806 million tonnes, driving down prices on leading exchanges in the U.S. and France by 10 to 13 percent over the past year. A similar trend is visible in the Black Sea region, including Russia, Ukraine, and Bulgaria. Bread wheat prices show no upward pressure, as the strong harvest is offsetting other market influences.
Corn prices are following a similar path. Though the bulk of the harvest is expected in September, projections already point to a bumper crop of over 1.27 billion tonnes globally. Simov noted a temporary price rise in Ukraine but expressed confidence that summer trends would bring levels back in line with last year - around 0 per tonne.
As for sunflower, current prices are slightly up compared to last year - about 0 per tonne now versus 0 back then. However, the upcoming harvest in September is expected to prompt a market correction. Simov predicts a return to around 0 per tonne, in line with last year's levels. The price of sunflower oil has also seen an uptick, with Rotterdam rates reaching ,200 per tonne, up approximately 14% year-on-year. Still, Simov believes that with the arrival of new supplies, prices will adjust.
The sugar market continues its downward trajectory, marking a second consecutive year of decline. Refined sugar prices have dropped by roughly 15-16%, driven by falling consumption even as production remains steady.
Oil markets also reflect a more moderate trend. Brent crude is currently trading at per barrel, down from last year. Simov noted a slight seasonal increase in recent weeks due to higher summer demand, but he emphasized that prices remain significantly lower than in the previous year, which is already being felt at the gas stations.
Simov firmly rejected fears of price spikes, stating that market fundamentals do not support such concerns. Even commodity categories not discussed in detail, such as metals, remain stable. His outlook was clear: unless major external shocks occur, markets are poised to stay calm in the months ahead.
