Blended Learning: The Smartest Way to Learn and Grow
Tumblr media
Organizations are always looking for ways to improve. Still, when it comes to employee development, there’s often a crossroads: what´s the best option for the team, and what´s affordable for the company?
In the fast-paced tech industry, keeping teams in continuous learning can feel overwhelming. Don´t worry, this article is for you!
We’ll break down the benefits, challenges, and key futures of the three most common learning formats: Instructor-Led Training, Blended Learning, and Self Paced Training.
Basic first
Before diving in, let´s clarify what each of these formats means.
Instructor Lead Training (ILT): this is a teaching method where an instructor leads a group of learners through training material. ILT can take place in person or virtually according to google.com.
Blended Learning: is a training that combines traditional in-person instruction and face-to-face learning with digital and online learning mediums.
Self Paced training (SPL): is a process in which people proactively self-direct their learning journeys, set their own goals, and hold themselves accountable for reaching them.
Choosing your ideal training
Now that you know what each format means, it´s important to understand that each one fits different situations and audiences.

I'm just imagining using a secluded space on base to do some yoga away from the 141, only to realize Ghost's been watching disapprovingly the whole time.
Like, what you lack in raw strength compared to the boys, you have in agility. You're not nearly as rigid. You're flexible, and it's only because you take the time to work on it. You have several methods but dancing and yoga are by far your favorite.
Neither hobby you can enjoy on base much, because well...you always get stared at. So, you take it upon yourself to clear out part of old studio space used for storage. It's kind of crappy, with cracked tile and dust bunnies galore, but it'll do. You play some music in your earbuds and do your beginning stretches on your mat.
When you're in the zone you're in the zone. You end up in a place far away and yet still within yourself. The burning stretch from some of your maneuvers feels so good you nearly groan. You get lost in the personal meditation. One certain position uses a specific pair of muscles in your lower back. It takes you a moment to realize why it makes you gasp. You bite your lip and decide to take a short break.
As you untangle your body you feel something's off. You're physically fine, but your heart starts to race. Your stomach lurches. You move to stand, suddenly startled by seemingly nothing.
"Yer doing it wrong."
And just like that Ghost makes himself known from behind a shelf. He's in his workout clothes, which isn't much but some slinky basketball shorts and a tank top. Black of course. His mask is the soft one he uses when he's not on the field.
You scoff at him, still feeling on edge but also relieved at no immediate threat.
"You do yoga?" You ask incredulously. "Fine, big guy. Show me how it's done."
He rolls out a mat and gestures for you to copy him. It's a simple move, one you've perfected. And yet he still shakes his head at your form. You try it again. Wrong. Again. Wrong.
"Where am I going wrong?"
You don't expect him to reach over and grab your back leg. He pulls it out further. You stumble and he rights you with the same arm. He tuts at you, but he's the reason you're off balance.
"Lift your back. No. Higher. Your hip should be down."
Next thing you know he's behind you, his large hands making your body twist and bend. You end up in the same position as you'd been in earlier, but this time you can really feel the stretch. Maybe he was right, you were doing it wrong.
You tilt your back up and feel the familiar stretch. It's better than you've ever been able to get it on your own. You can't help the soft groan that leaves your lips. The last time those muscles had been used was before you joined the 141, when you'd still had a boyfrie-
Two hands grab at those spots. Large thumbs work circles into the areas. Despite yourself, you moan. This was going a bit too far but...
The more he kneads the more you fall to your knees. You can't hold the position with your back up anymore. You practically collapse onto the mat, ass up, Ghost knelt over you.
He still doesn't let up. His thumbs dig into those circles hard enough it should hurt but instead you only feel bliss. You bite your lip, it feels so fucking good. Eventually he relents, and stops digging into you. You whine at the absence.
"That feels so good." You groan, voice sounding way too needy for what just occurred.
"M' glad." Ghost huffs amusement evident in his tone.
Ghost grabs you and flips you over onto your back. He grabs one of your legs and pushes it as far forward towards your head as he can without hurting you. He does the same to the other. It's a weird position, but it's not far off from some of the other ones you're used to. It burns but it also feels good. Considering you're flat on your back, you feel supported.
You smile up at him, a little breathless but also happy that he's willing to help you out. Yoga did not seem like something any where near his wheelhouse.
"I didn't know you liked yoga. How did you learn about this stuff?" You ask, using your own arms to hold your legs in position as Ghost gets up higher on his knees.
Ghost huffs behind his mask as he looks down at you. He narrows his eyes, his head blocking out the white light of the overhead flourescents. You feel a hand slide between the material of your shorts and the curve of your ass.
"The Kama Sutra."

The 6th House and Bad Fortunes
In Hellenistic astrology the 6th house is referred to the “place of bad fortune”, connected to disease and decline in vitality. Here it’s more associated with hardships and illness than daily routines and activities. This is due to it being twelve houses away from the 7th house, which would mean imprisonment to significant commitments, like our health and vitality.
It represents the challenges that arise when our creative and romantic aspirations meet reality. By addressing the issues related to health, routines, and service we can transform the challenges here into opportunities.

Reading about the Japanese text of the game giving Claude a few lines talking about how he was an angry kid is sending me in circles. Like, of course he was, ostracize and bully a kid he might turn out angry. Very humanizing. It also tells us that Claude is at odds with himself.
Fight or flight, right? The common two responses to stress, avoid a problem or run into it. Claude is neat because he learned to avoid, to be indirect, to fight smarter and not harder, when he was young. However, Claude has an inner desire to fight, you do not even need to know about his past as a kid to figure this out. Claude chose to come to Fódlan, on his own, the moment he learned he had a crest and was invited to be his grandfather's heir! Claude saw that Fódlan had the same problems as Almyra, that xenophobia was everywhere, and he chose to stay! Edelgard started a continental war and Claude did not run away! Claude has a fight response, a desire to rise to challenges when they present themselves to him. Which is at odds when we first meet Claude, that he ran away for a better position when the group got ambushed by bandits. Claude takes pride in being the 'embodiement of mistrust.' Claude thinks that being evasive is the smart thing, it is what helped him survive this long, but being forward is the right thing, it is why he is in the story to begin with. Claude is flexible in his methods, but is inflexible in his principles.
Claude is a person with two distinct halves, in more ways than one! Fitting for a kid born of two nations that are at odds, Claude has his desire to stand his ground be at odds with his wisdom telling him to approach problems indirectly and to manuever around them. Just as Claude mends two nations in Verdant Wind, so does Claude mend his two halves. Claude pushes his own agenda, he does not sit on the sidelines in indecision like in the other routes, but in his own way. Claude makes Byleth into the figurehead, but he plans the strategic maneuvers. Claude has a bombastic duel with Nader, but the whole thing is a subtle piece of theater to teach the Leicester and Almyran soldiers present to respect the prowess of both nations (remember that only Nader knows Claude is of mixed heritage in that scene, to everyone else he represents the Alliance). The supports with Marianne! Claude is so direct with Marianne in those supports, you can see a lot of the angry and impatient kid who just wants to get to the center of the problem, but the resolution is Claude opening up about his own past, but in the form of a story that is very indirect and gives him plausible deniability. How Claude's final gambit against Nemesis is a bold one, putting himself in harm's way in order to distract the crusty bastard from his arrow.
Claude's greatest weakness is that he constantly has two voices going in circles in his head, he is as ponderous and indecisive as the very Alliance he leads at times, but that scope of perspective allows Claude to approach problems in a unique and genuinely brilliant manner. Fight or flight is a false dichotomy, just like the world telling Claude that he is Fódlan or Almyran, Claude will find a way to choose both.

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of medicine with a history spanning over 5,000 years. It's a holistic approach to health and well-being, focusing on balancing the body, mind, and spirit to prevent and treat diseases. The term "Ayurveda" means "knowledge of life" or "the science of life". It considers the individual as a whole, taking into account their physical, mental, and spiritual aspects. The diet and lifestyle is very intrisinc to it. The "father of Ayurveda" is widely regarded as Charak - who wrote charak-samhita . It came in first millennium BCE , this knowledge was transmitted from gods to sages than to the human physicians which came to be printed in sushruta-samhita - frame work of bharatiya or Hindu diety of Ayurveda ; Dhanvantri , who recarinated as king divodas to give this knowledge .

HIGH ACHIEVER - ONE: HOW TO BE A TEAM PLAYER

Tumblr media
Suguru Geto was the very apex of campus.
Not only was he a big name in the basketball courts, but Geto was also the most skillful martial artist and exceeded in every single class he took, being among the top students in the academy. He was cocky but never unkind. In fact, Geto's amiability was a matter of admiration throughout the grounds. As if that hadn't been enough, he was beautiful. With his tall frame, broad shoulders, silky black hair, perfect complexion, kind caramel eyes, nihilistic smile… He was also the utter and absolute bane of your existence.
It seemed to give him the utmost joy to counter every single point you brought up in the classes you shared or to find and point out inconsistencies in your arguments. In other words: he lived to antagonize you.
You didn't even care about being valedictorian; it was nothing but a title - who were you kidding? Gojo would be getting that anyway, the boy simply didn't know how to lose. Not even Geto could surpass his GPA and ranking position combined - but you did pride yourself on your grades and learning. It's why you even attended college to begin with: it's the goal, isn't it?
The problem began when Suguru decided to make it his business always to show you up. If you were happy about your 98% on a test, he just had to point out his 99. If you accurately responded to a question made by the professor, he felt obligated to mention details you had "seemingly forgotten".
It was frankly maddening.
"Sometimes the best solutions come from intuition and an understanding of the specific circumstances of the case - it requires flexibility." you spoke when asked about evidence-based practices in class. Mr. Yaga nodded complacently and took a breath as if preparing to launch into another rhetoric when there was a loud sneer.
You knew that sound well enough it immediately caused your spine to stiffen. You didn't even have to turn on your seat to find its source.
"Anything you'd like to share, Mr. Geto?" the professor promptly asked, arms crossing in front of his chest as one of his dark eyebrows shot up above the black sunglasses that were usually covering his stern eyes.
Of course he had. Geto always had. You rolled your eyes, already anticipating his antithesis. Countering your arguments were his favorite pastime after all.
"Yes, actually," you felt his eyes burning on the back of your head, but you refused to turn and give him the satisfaction. "Relying on gut feeling when people’s lives and well-being are at stake is… precarious. Evidence-based practice relies on proven methods, which is exactly what we need: tested and effective approaches." You could almost hear the arrogant smugness in the tone of his voice and your anger bubbled over to the point of spilling.
"So you'd prefer to overlook important nuances? People are individuals, not statistics. Using averages when each case is different is inadequate at best." You retorted as you twisted in your seat, your indignant eyes meeting his cool ones.
"Mrs-" The professor tried to stop the argument before it picked up, but it was already too late the moment you decided to counter Geto. He knew exactly what the result usually was. Every member of the docent body was aware of the rivalry between you.
"All that sounds lovely, very idyllic. But we should remain grounded in measurable outcomes, not guesswork, sweetheart." Geto spoke in his usual smooth cadency, but the disdainful undertone was not lost on you. He had this complacent closed-lip smile that grated your nerves on.
You scoffed at the belittling term of endearment he used, "A more creative, personalized approach builds trust and leads to success."
"And how do you plan to measure this success?"
"Success cannot be measured by research."
"And you suggest not relying on research? That is irresponsible."
"That is not what I-"
"Enough!" Mr. Yaga bellowed, clearly having had enough of the back and forth between the two of you. You clamped your mouth shut, embarrassment making your skin warm. "As much as all of your points are valid and very pertinent to our subject matter, you're letting your nerves get the best of you. I wish to continue my lecture now though." He paused gaze moving from you to Geto, "unless that would inconvenience either of you, of course."
You let your body slide down on your chair so as to avoid the attention still feeling Geto's gaze lingering on you. You hated that you let yourself be moved by his obvious bait, that you coulddn't help but rise to the occasion whenever he so much as breathed in your general vicinity. You wished you could say you had better self-control but you simply did not. It's a pain and a chore really.
The lecture picked back up after your humiliating schtick without further incidents… mostly because you decided not to chime in anymore. And, of course, without you to counterattack, Geto felt it would be pointless to partake in the discussion. Asshole.
You sighed in relief when the professor dismissed the class, quickly throwing your laptop and water bottle inside your bag and making a beeline to the door when he called your name followed by Geto's.
"I'd like to speak to both of you for a moment."
"I have to get to my next class-" you started to protest, hands tightening on the strap of your bag when he interrupted you:
"It'll only take a minute, Mrs."
You sighed and timidly moved closer to his desk, fingers still fidgeting. You could feel Geto's presence right beside you, but refused to even glance his way.
"This feuding between you is getting out of hand. I'd like to ask you to take it easy on the altercations from now on. You both make valid points most of the time, you should learn to compromise every now and then. Being this intransigent will get you nowhere in life." Mr. Yaga glare had you cowering slightly, shoulders hunching in. "You two are my best students in this subject so I decided to pair you up for a special semester-long project. That should teach you a little bit about accommodating the other's needs."
"What?!" you nearly choked on your spit.
"I want you to write a paper evaluating the impact of local outreach programs. It'll be worth 25% of your final grades. I'll email you the details. You're dismissed."
"Profes-" once more you tried to object but Yaga gave you no chance to even finish your thought:
"I said you're dismissed." He stood his ground, not bothering to even look at you as he started stacking the papers on his desk.
You huffed in annoyance and marched out of the auditorium. You heard Geto's steps and tried to walk ahead of him, avoiding the consequential conversation after receiving such horrid news but he easily caught up to you with his stupid long legs.
"Give me your phone." his velvety voice demanded. You stopped in the middle of the corridor and he did the same, turning his body to you, proudly crowding in on you and towering over your form, mindless of the other people walking past form both directions.
"What? No," you scoffed indignantly. Geto sighed and rolled his eyes, clearly regretting this exchange as much as you.
"I'm just gonna add my number to your contacts. As much as I'm dreading this, it is not the kind of project we can just work on separately and then put it all together. It should be seamless."
That made you pause. You really couldn't argue with that sentiment. Still, you were so used to it that you couldn't help but affronting Geto: "Huh. I didn't think you had it in you to be reasonable."
"Ha. Ha. Very funny." He deadpanned. You did hand over your phone after unlocking it and opening the contact info page after a second of hesitation when you found no hidden agenda behind his demeanor.
"Just type in your number so we can get this over with. I'd like to get this over with as soon as possible. My daily quota of you is already blown over." You said as you crossed your arms in front of your chest.
Your words had the opposite of the expected reaction though as you saw the moment his smile turned predatory. You steeled yourself for his upcoming retort but none came.
Your eyes instantaneously flitted to the strand of hair that fell off his half-up hairdo and covered his left eye as he lowered his head to type on your phone. You hated that if anyone ever critiqued a man bun that's because they had never seen Suguru Geto's. That man sure knew how to pull off one of the most controversial hairstyles to ever exist. You couldn't imagine there was something he wouldn't be able to pull off, to be honest… what a shame he had to be an insufferable asshole.
"That implies you need at least a small amount of me in your day." you were so enraptured in your analysis of his hair that you almost missed his jab.
"No, I-" you scowled in disgust, nearly ripping the unoffending device from his offering hand once he turned it back your way. "In your dreams, Geto."
He only hummed in response, that stupid smirk on his face. Again.
"Fuck you, Geto," you threw over your shoulder as you turned on your heel, not wasting any more time before heading for your next class.
"I'll text you, sweetheart!" He called after you, the sound of his laughter following.
You ground your teeth together in anger, your face feeling uncharacteristically warm. You only let yourself check your phone after you turned a corner so you were absolutely certain you were no longer in his field of vision. You stared in perplexity at the name he saved his number under.
"I can't believe this pretentious douchebag had the audacity… most brilliant colleague my ass!"
You were switching up his name in your contacts to 'arrogant prick n2' instead when you heard your friend's voice calling you over.
"Where were you? The class starts in less than a minute and you know how Gakuganji gets with laggers," her short dyed blonde hair swayed as she glanced from your approaching form to the open double doors to the lecture hall by her right.
You rushed towards Akari with a quick apology and a "what are you doing out here then?"
"It's not as if his lectures are ever full." She shrugged easily flitting her arm to yours so you could enter together.
"Noted."
The two of you easily found and occupied a couple of seats by the back right before Gakuganji launched into a dull monologue on the psychological effects of music on the brain, which could have been an interesting subject if it wasn't taught by someone closer to a mummy than a human with the most boring cadency to his voice.
"Did Yaga hold over the class?" Akari mumbled the question as she set up her laptop.
"Held me over, you mean," you murmured back. You felt her questioning gaze settle on you, so you decided to further explain, "he wants me to work on some big project about local outreach programs."
"That sounds like a lot of work, why only you?"
"Not only me. Something about learning to concede or some shit like that."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Well, apparently I have been too intransigent with Geto and now we gotta learn to work together."
She let out a loud sound, a mix between laughter and a snort which immediately had Gakuganji dark eyes turning your way.
"Sorry!" Akari winced, "I, uhn, chocked.
The professor huffed and you waited for some sort of reprimand, but he only got right back into his spiel.
"You're joking? You mean to say you have to work with Suguru Geto?"
"Unfortunately."
"Well, say goodbye to Jujutsu Tech, because the two of you are about to wreck this whole school."
She wasn't wrong.

respect money as a long game: think retirement accounts, real estate, business equity, etc.
define what financial security means to you.
be okay with taking practical steps: you're laying bricks while others prefer to follow the path.
improve your finances
track your income and expenses: use spreadsheets and apps - do financial check-ins.
prioritize skills that age well: think accounting, management, trade skills, strategy, etc.
be ruthless with your financial standards: "on sale" isn't always "worth it."
apply for the thing you feel unqualified for anyway: saturn actively grows into the role.
refine your values
value responsibility, integrity, and respect over short-term thrills.
"if i can't imagine it long-term, i won't start it now."
say yes only to what aligns with your long-term self - not your anxious or distracted one.
hold yourself accountable - that's self-respect in action.
surround yourself with quality
curate a wardrobe of staples and classics, not trends - timeless over tiktok shop.
invest in things that last: leather, tailored clothing, real jewelry, skilled crafts, etc.
choose relationships with integrity and emotional maturity: no flings that drain your bandwidth.
2h ruler in the 4h
Tumblr media
strengthen self-worth
heal the cause, not just the symptoms: self-worth issues are likely tied back to early emotional conditioning.
redefine "home" as a place within yourself: create inner stability so no matter what’s happening around you you still feel safe.
you don't need your family’s permission to value yourself: approval is optional, alignment is not.
let softness be part of your strength: emotional self-trust is true security.

Hi there! I'm writing a barista character and got a bit stuck. Do you have any notes on how to write baristas (e.g. what shifts are like; what you have to learn to be one, etc)? Thank you so much!
(Your posts here are invaluable, by the way, and super helpful. 😄)
Writing Notes: Barista
Tumblr media
Barista - specializes in making a variety of coffee and espresso beverages.
Usually works in a cafe, coffee shop or bookstore where they take customer orders, complete transactions and serve drinks.
May also prepare and serve a few small meals and pastry options.
Day-to-Day Tasks
As a barista, you would:
prepare the premises or outlet ready for opening
welcome customers, take orders and process payments
prepare and serve coffees, hot snacks, sandwiches and cakes
clean and tidy work areas, equipment and coffee machines
check and order new stock
Preparing Beverages. One of the barista’s primary duties is preparing various drinks to meet customer preferences. This involves:
Crafting Espresso-Based Drinks: Baristas skillfully pull espresso shots, steam milk, and create drinks like cappuccinos, lattes, and macchiatos. They ensure each beverage has the perfect balance of flavor and texture.
Brewing Specialty Coffees: Many coffee shops offer pour-over coffees, cold brews, or French press options. Baristas must understand brewing methods, grind size, and extraction techniques to achieve the desired flavor profile.
Creating Latte Art: For many customers, presentation matters as much as taste. Baristas often add intricate designs, such as hearts or rosettas, to elevate the visual appeal of lattes and cappuccinos.
Customizing Orders: Customize drinks to customer preferences by adjusting sweetness levels, switching to non-dairy milk, or adding extra espresso shots.
Other barista duties may include:
Welcoming patrons to the shop
Building a relationship with regular customers and remembering their orders
Explaining the cafe’s special menu items as necessary
Recommending beverage options if requested
Following recipes and presentation guides to make beverages
Preparing plates or takeaway containers of pastry and food items
Cleaning and maintaining the commercial coffee machine, steamer and blender
Following health and safety policies
Removing dishes from the table as patrons finish their drinks
Preparing checks and taking payment from patrons
Work Environment
Baristas work in a variety of coffee shops with the following characteristics:
Standing and walking around for extended periods of time
Lifting and carrying food and drink trays to tables
Working near many other customers, servers and kitchen staff
Wearing a uniform if required by the restaurant
Working environment may be noisy
Typical Hours
40 to 42 hours (variable) per week
Evenings / Weekends / Holidays (on shifts)
Cafes and coffee shops typically open early in the mornings
May require baristas to be flexible with scheduling to meet customer demand
The work can be fast-paced during busy periods
Suitable job for students and part-time workers
Career Path & Progression
There may also be opportunities to move into:
barista staff training
equipment maintenance
coffee tasting and buying
product development and marketing
You could become self-employed and open your own coffee shop.
With experience, you could become a:
store manager, then
regional manager, with a coffee retail chain or franchise.
Pros & Cons
Pros
Flexible Hours: Perfect for students or part-time workers.
Skill Development: Learn customer service, multitasking, and coffee expertise.
Social Interaction: Build relationships with customers and colleagues.
Career Growth: Opportunities to advance into management or specialty coffee roles.
Cons
Physical Demands: Standing for long periods and repetitive motions.
Irregular Hours: Early mornings, weekends, and holidays are typical.
Modest Pay: Entry-level wages can be low, though tips often help.
How to Become a Barista
You can get into this job through: a college course; an apprenticeship; applying directly; training with a professional body.
College. Although not essential, you could do a college course that would give you some of the skills needed for this role. Courses include:
barista skills
food and beverage service
retail skills
Apprenticeship. You can apply to do a Hospitality Team Member Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship.
This will usually take 12 months to complete
A mix of on-the-job training and time spent with a college or training provider
Direct Application. When you start, your employer will put you through training in barista skills and product knowledge. Some employers may prefer you to have experience in customer service, retail sales or catering.
Common Personality Traits
22,778 baristas were surveyed to learn what personality traits and interests make them unique. Based on the Holland Codes:
Baristas tend to be predominantly conventional individuals, meaning that they are usually detail-oriented and organized, and like working in a structured environment.
They also tend to be realistic, which means that they often enjoy working outdoors or applying themselves to a hands-on project.
Based on The Big Five:
Baristas score highly on openness, which means they are usually curious, imaginative, and value variety.
They also tend to be high on the measure of extraversion, meaning that they rely on external stimuli to be happy, such as people or exciting surroundings.
Barista Tools
Baristas use a wide variety of tools to complete their duties. Some common tools:
Espresso Machine. Allows you to brew highly concentrated black coffee. During this process, the machine forces pressurized hot water through finely grounded coffee. Some types of drinks you can make using an espresso machine include: Macchiato; Cafe latte; Cappuccino; Mocha; Affogato; and Americano
Frothing Steam Pitcher. Used to create any drink that requires milk. A frothing stream pitcher helps you create a milk foam to top off a cup of coffee. You can also use this type of pitcher to create an assortment of latte art. Frothing pitchers are stainless steel and feature a handle and pouring spout. A narrow spout can offer control when pouring latte art, such as a heart or rose. You can also find frothing pitchers in different sizes, depending on the amount of milk you want to froth.
Foam Frothing Spoon. After creating foam from a steam pitcher, you can use a foam frothing spoon to control how much foam you pour over a cup of coffee. Using a frothing spoon can prevent spilling that may occur when pouring the foam into a cup of coffee. This type of spoon features a flat tip that makes it easier to scoop only foam from a steaming pitcher.
Thermometer. When making espresso, it's important to consider the brewing temperature, along with that of the milk froth. If your espresso machine doesn't come with a proportional-integral-derivative, use a thermometer to measure espresso as it leaves the brew head. When making a drink that requires steamed milk, it's important for the milk to reach the ideal temperature of about 149 degrees Fahrenheit. To reach this temperature, consider using a frothing thermometer for complete accuracy. A frothing thermometer can also help you avoid burning the milk while ensuring a caramelized milk finish that can elevate the flavor of any coffee.
Commercial Coffee Maker. This type of coffee maker lets you brew a standard cup of coffee. After filling it with water and coffee grounds, a coffee maker filters hot water through a basket holding coffee grounds. After filtering, black coffee enters the coffee pot. You can use this black coffee for a standard cup of coffee or for other drinks such as an iced coffee or latte.
Tamper. Baristas use tampers to brew espresso, whether in a machine or through a stovetop espresso maker. A tamper lets you pack loosely dosed coffee grounds so they're tightly pressed, ensuring a quality espresso shot. You can also adjust the length of a tamper depending on the espresso dosage.
Scale. Helps you achieve a consistent and accurately measured espresso shot. In terms of measurement, a scale helps you determine the amount of beans you use for one shot. If you use a quality grinder with a doser, you may not need a scale.
Coffee Grinder. Grinds fresh coffee beans before the brewing process. A coffee grinder lets you grind as much coffee as needed, whether for an espresso shot or a large batch of coffee. Many coffee grinders have conical burrs that let you select the size of your coffee grounds.

The role of beliefs in shifting based on the survey of people who shift on command + personal hypothesis
1) Beliefs: not everything, but a lever among others
Many people claim that believing = shifting. However, according to the survey, the average response regarding the importance of beliefs is around 3/5. This number is very significant and challenges some common assumptions in the community:
→ It shows that beliefs are seen as important, but not sufficient or omnipotent.
My personal hypothesis:
Beliefs would act more like an amplifier or a stabilizer → but not as the sole trigger of the shift.
Tumblr media
25% of people say the moment they shift is unpredictable.
2) Mindset and belief ≠ same thing
Some people in my data report having shifted without an "ideal" mindset , that’s powerful.
This breaks several common myths:
❌ "You have to be positive"
❌ "You need a high level of faith or confidence"
❌ "You need to know it’s going to work"
And instead confirms this:
✅ Shifting can occur in calm or neutral emotional states, even sad or tired ones, if they allow enough letting go.
✅ Belief is not synonymous with control , it’s not a remote control.
People who are ultra-rational or have a highly active critical mind are not always at a disadvantage. Those with mental flexibility, cognitive plasticity, and an ability to enter altered states seem to be the most likely to shift easily.Even if it’s not an absolute rule, it seems helpful ,maybe working on your mental structures through, for example, meditation, new activities, and learning to let go of ego, could support shifting far more than precise methods or repeated affirmations.
Tumblr media
More than 50% of people who shift on command rated the importance of their beliefs at 3 or lower.
3) Role of the unconscious and neuroplasticity
My results , especially those showing successful shifts among people with strong inner dialogue, hypervigilance, or dissociative mechanisms , suggest that:
The unconscious might be more important than conscious belief.
It's a matter of mental architecture, not just conscious willpower.
People who are ultra-rational or have a highly active critical mind are not always at a disadvantage.
Those with mental flexibility, cognitive plasticity, and an ability to enter altered states seem to be the most likely to shift easily.
Even if it’s not an absolute rule, it seems helpful , maybe working on your mental structures through, for example, meditation, new activities, and learning to let go of ego , could support shifting far more than precise methods or repeated affirmations.
Tumblr media
58% of people report a strong, constant inner dialogue, showing that having a highly critical mind is not necessarily an obstacle to shifting.
Tumblr media
Only 25% say they do not naturally experience altered states of consciousness.
4) Belief ≠ pure autosuggestion.
Tumblr or TikTok discourse often pushes the idea to the extreme that
“what you believe becomes real,” like:
“If you assume you’ve shifted, then it’s done.”
But my study shows:
Some people “assumed” and nothing happened.
Others didn’t assume anything consciously… and still shifted accidentally.
(Many say that shifting happens unpredictably or that they feel like they are pulled into a reality sometimes without their conscious consent.)
This suggests:
Shifting seems to operate on a deeper level than verbal or mental assumption.
It’s about creating internal coherence between perception, emotion, and the unconscious , not just repeating “I shifted.”
Testimony from an anonymous shifter #1
In response to the question:
“Have you ever shifted without control, script, or intention ,and if so, describe the experience.”
The feeling? Uh, I guess it was a little exciting, but also unsettling.
I knew I could always shift back for safety, so I wasn’t TOO worried, but it felt weird. Basically, I just asked to shift anywhere, I didn’t care where. So I ended up shifting to early 1900s London. At first, I thought I was in Peaky Blinders but I’m not sure, I didn’t stay long.It was very disorienting, since I had no digital devices and none of the safety nets scripting usually gives. So after the first day, I left. Normally I include spells etc. in my script, but this time I just went for it blindly. I looked totally different, and people treated me differently too. It was a weird moment, so I don’t remember much, but I do remember it felt really strange. The best way I can describe it is like sitting in a speeding car with no seatbelt.
Anonymous testimony #2
Sometimes, I wake up in realities that are neither planned nor intended. They’re usually alternate realities (though they vary a lot , sometimes completely different from here). When that happens, I think it’s in that moment that I need time to remember that I’ve shifted and that it’s not my “original” or desired reality. Sometimes it happens when I intend to change, sometimes even when I don’t. These realities feel just as normal as any other.
5) Belief as internal permission
My survey suggests that beliefs:
– Don’t necessarily trigger the shift.
– But they can remove mental blocks, like an unconscious green light.
Belief then becomes a kind of permission granted to oneself to leave CR (current reality).
6) Ego: an unstable variable in shifting
Many shifters say they "believe", that they are "ready", that they "think they can do it"... but they still don’t shift.
Why? One hypothesis comes back:
– The ego believes it wants to, but another part of the self doesn’t follow.
This joins a central idea:
the gap between the conscious mind (ego) and the deeper structures of the brain or the unconscious.
The ego says "I want to shift", but:
– it tries to control
– it fears "losing control"
– it clings to rigid methods or ideals
– it sees failure as a personal threat
Consequence? The more the ego takes over the process, the more it becomes a personal value test, and the less the brain can let go.
7) Advanced hypotheses on beliefs and ego
✴ Here are some hypotheses based on my data + shared experiences:
– Shifting is easier when the ego fades or falls asleep. → This explains shifts under hypnosis, drowsiness, substances, or moments of mental emptiness.
– Cognitive overload seems blocked. → Overthinking "if it works", "if I believe enough" strengthens the ego and self-identification = cr self.
– Useful belief is passive, almost silent. → It’s a "I allow myself", not an "I must prove".
Tumblr media
Only 16% of people say they have a very anchored identity in this reality.
8)The role of the unconscious
Beliefs don’t seem to be only mental.
They also live in the body, in emotions, and in unconscious associations.
For example:
A person may consciously believe "I can shift"...but unconsciously associate shifting with fear of disappearing, failure, or loneliness.
(I believe working gently on unconscious beliefs without ego could really help the process, especially through hypnosis or meditation.)
And the opposite:
A person may say "I don’t fully believe it"
...but their unconscious is ready, emotions calm, imagination aligned, and boom, it works.
→ That explains accidental shifts.
They bypass the ego, will, and conscious contradictions.
9) Emotion as an unconscious trigger
My poll reveals that emotional state has more impact than stated belief.
And not in the sense of "you have to be happy."
On the contrary:
→ Gentle sadness, calm solitude, or even fatigue can sometimes open more doors than excitement or euphoria.
Why?
– Because these states are:
• Low in mental agitation
• High in receptivity
• Associated with a temporary dissolution of the ego
These are not “positive” emotions that facilitate shifting,
but low-resistance mental states. (This isn’t universal , emotional relationships and other factors may come into play!)
10) Conscious belief vs unconscious belief
Many think that "strong belief" or "assuming" is enough.
But my poll shows:
– some people shift without consciously believing
– others don’t shift despite great faith
This strengthens an important idea:
→ The body and unconscious believe differently.
It’s not about repeating or affirming,
but about allowing the inner self to feel total permission.
We could say:
→ Conscious belief = intention, verbal discourse
→ Unconscious belief = inner climate, deep coherence. And that second level is more decisive.
Tumblr media
The majority of people seem to think that breathing and meditation are the things that helped them shift most easily, perhaps because ego detachment is greater during those times?
Anonymous quotes from the survey, translated:
“I believe that if I fail, it’s because I didn’t really want to shift.”
→ This shows that conscious will isn’t enough, and that non-shifting can be a form of unconscious protection (or other factors).
“I often shift when everything turns black and I come back here without understanding.”
→ Dissociation + total mental release = favorable state.
“I’m tired, too many thoughts, but sometimes I shift anyway.”
→ Proof that mental chaos doesn’t always prevent shifting. It’s not an exact science.
12) Shifting = co-creation + subconscious alignment
A new hypothesis that could emerge from my post:
What if shifting isn’t a controlled creation (as some claim),
but a co-creation with a vaster unconscious part of us?→ A part of us knows how to do it.
But our ego, our analytical mind, our inner tensions... prevent this natural process.
So:
→ Conscious belief is a key
→ But emotional and subconscious alignment is the doorway
Tumblr media
Emotional stade reported after shifting
What if belief were just an access code?
Maybe:
→ Conscious belief is a password for the unconscious
→ But if it’s not deeply accepted, it’s like an incorrect code
→ You can believe with your mouth, but if the body says “no” (through fear, tension, or deeper doubt), nothing happens.
If belief were enough, half of us would have shifted years ago.The true doorway might lie deeper,in the body, the unconscious, and the subtle state of emotional surrender.

So…I supposed it’s fair to say you’re an outstanding author and so I’d like to ask for some advice! I wanna get into writing for fun in my free time but whenever I write I just kinda make it up as I go…and I’d like to know how you go about planning how a story goes? And how you lay it out and such. It would really help! Ps THANK YOU FOR TWO CHAPTERS IN A DAY YOU’VE BLESSED US 🫶🫶🫶
HEY! First of all thank you so much for being kind, and I'm thrilled on your behalf for writing for fun! That's how it should be!
So I just want to start of by saying there is no wrong or right way to write, the act of writing is learning, we gain new knowledge as we go, and any form of it is building resilience.
Making it up as you go is a valid and powerful method called discovery writing, I've done it too before, but I find for me I need a lot more structure, well personally I tend to make it up as I go for one-shots since they're short formed and don't require as much structure. In the sense that I can complete Freytag's triangle easily since everything would happen in one small story.
When I start planning a story I begin by asking what I want to accomplish with the story, and what I want the tone to be. I write out the characters I know will be in the story, I try to read up and write everything I know about them and then once I have that in mind and written down on a doc I can begin to outline my story.
I often keep a loose three-act structure in mind, but never let it box me in. The first act sets everything up who they are, what they want, and what’s missing. The second act brings tension, conflict, secrets, or obstacles. The third act is the shift: a choice, a change, a moment of clarity that echoes everything they’ve been through. Even if I deviate, that structure is a comfort. It reminds me what kind of journey I’m walking the reader through.
But above all, character drives everything. Before I even touch plot, I ask What does this character want? What are they afraid of? What do they believe about themselves, rightly or wrongly? A well-built character will naturally create story through their actions, reactions, and contradictions. That’s where real plot comes from people, not just events. (this is just my biased opinion)
From there, I usually write a “zero draft.” Not a first draft just chaos. No pressure to be pretty, coherent, or even readable. It’s where I let myself play and explore, knowing I’ll shape it later. (not always but sometimes) Alongside that, I open up a little ramble document where I talk to myself “Okay, what happens next? What’s her deal? Why would he react like that?”
Being your own co-writer your own curious narrator helps you break through blocks without feeling like you’re failing.
And honestly, the best thing I’ve learned is to be flexible. A plan isn’t a prison. If I fall in love with a different ending halfway through, I let myself follow it. If a character surprises me, I let them. Changing your mind isn’t giving up it’s discovering what the story really wants to be.
But I know what really helps is to learn rhetoric, and rhetorical appeals. It's not required at all but it does help, I'm sure you've already learned it in school before but it doesn't hurt to watch a short video on it.
If it helps, here's a mini template I use sometimes when planning chapters
Chapter X
Purpose: (What is this chapter doing? Revealing something? Deepening a relationship?)
Setting: (Where are we? Where will we go?)
Mood/Theme: (Soft? Tense? Bitter? Bittersweet?)
What changes: (By the end, what’s different?)
Key moments: (Write them out as bullet points.)
Sorry this was super long but my writing process mainly goes like that but of course I'm never confined by it, so I always can just go as I want but I make sure I write down what I changed and how I deviated from my original plan.
