Currently sobbing in bed because we sent voiager one and two out into the universe I really want to read stories about the affini finding the gold disks and fawning over the message we sent.
I want them to be just as excited to meet us as I am excited to meet them.
I guess that could be a little Eldritch horror-y from the outside. "TransGirl wants aliens to come and conquer the earth" but I just want to be able to not have to deal with parking tickets, dishes, or feeling weird or bad again.
I guess that makes me a coward to want to flee and hide behind an affini's legs.

do you have any fun journaling topics?
omg i love journaling!! here are some of my favorite topics :
things that made me smile today
random thoughts that live in my head rent-free
people i'm grateful for and why
songs that hit different lately
what i'm looking forward to this week
things i want to remember about right now
moments when i felt proud of myself
what's been on my mind lately
things i'm learning about myself
favorite memories from this month
what i want more of in my life
things that inspire me
how i've been feeling lately (the real stuff)
what i'm excited about
little wins that nobody else knows about
things i want to try
what makes me feel most like me
thoughts i have in the shower
things i wish i could tell someone
what i'm curious about right now
i also have different types of journals which are so fun!! like a gratitude journal, a dream journal, one just for quotes that hit me, and even a silly one for random observations. each one feels like its own little world!!
the best part? there's no wrong way to do it. sometimes i write pages, sometimes just a sentence. it's like having coffee with yourself 🤍
lmk if i should do more i have many more ideas!!

Jirai Journaling Prompts
i tried to make safe for those who aren't ready 4 recovery, yet still have some mental health focus that can be good for processing and not just trying to fix things ^w^ some of them might seem like recovery questions still but its rlly how you answer them that makes it recovery focused or not, i think most are neutral enough to be able to go either way and some are just fun ones
♡ what is something that set you off today? how did it feel?
♡ what was today's outfit? if u didn't dress up, what do you wish you wore?
♡ write a letter to someone who you can never forgive even tho u can never send it
♡ did i do anything that seems or is harmful today? how did it make you feel? (no need to feel shame or try and change it, this is just so you are more consciously aware of it and how you are feeling because of it)
♡ whats a place you would visit to disappear for awhile? what would you do there?
♡ what is something broken or toxic that you find beautiful in any way?
♡ what things do you wish you can do but cant?
♡ what's a piece of advice that actually made you feel worse?
♡ what emotions do you feel most comfortable sitting in?
♡ what's something that hurts but you never wanna let go of?
♡ describe a day you wish you could have? (feel free to be as unhealthy and self destructive and do whatever you want in this there are no limits, nobody is stoping you here)
♡ what outfits do u wish you have? what kinda styles? do you like styles outside of jirai kei?
♡ do you like being online? how is your internet presence and how do you wish it could be? are you different online vs in real life?
♡ is your style very connected to how you see yourself as a person, and if so how?
♡ why do you like jirai kei? how has it made you feel?
♡ who is your favorite person or closest person? how do they make you feel? if u dont have anyone, who do you hate most and why?
♡ if u have an oshi who is it and why?
♡ what are some thoughts you could never say out loud or share with anyone? toxic or not
♡ if you use substances, which ones are your favorites and why?
♡ write 3-5 songs you would add to a playlist to have a breakdown to & why you're adding them
♡ if you could design your own jirai or any other fashion clothes, what would it be like?
♡ what characters do you relate to the most and why?
if i can think of more maybe i'll make more i dunno yet tho TwT ive been trying to find journal prompts for myself tho so making a list here sounded good, maybe some others would like it too! btw i wrote these for keeping a private journal as well not exactly for journaling on a blog, some of these prompts i wouldn't write anywhere publicly but ik i cant stop anyone lul but thought that i should make that known anyways

Exploring Spiritual Kin/Exo memories using Journaling

I have used journaling for the past couple of months, read through multiple books on spiritual journaling, and mastered a technique that's helped me with processing exomemories and recording them.
The benefits of Exomemory Journaling
Having a list of proof of memories when you may feel denial
Being able to map out memory timelines as you remember more details and memories over time
Being able to process exotrauma
Being able to map out positive triggers to feel like yourself more
Being able to map out negative triggers related to exotrauma
Validating your own feelings and experiences
Self exploration
Before we go in, it's okay if your memory is vague. It's okay if it doesn't align with canon of any fictional source. These are realities that we have transcended, so our physical brains may not properly translate the code within our souls. There are also so many realities and universes, that the fictional source here might not follow your life 1-1. Don't take it to heart, you are still you, and your life was still real.

First, you want to top this entry off with a date, time, and location. This is pretty standard for journaling, it helps you keep track and have a record
1.Starting Point (Skip this section if you want to retain the details of the memory and can be quite forgetful, come back to it after step 2 instead)
In this section, you want to write down what feelings you felt before this flashback and what feelings you felt during, and the feelings you feel now as you begin writing. Also write down what you were doing beforehand in detail such as where you are, what you were doing, what you were hearing and etc. If this flashback was not discovered through meditation and instead through a random hit of nostalgia, detailing your surroundings might let you find what triggered this flashback. Could have been a lyric to a song, a certain smell in the air, someone you saw might have reminded you of someone etc. These triggers are good to know as they can help align you more with your identity and past life, or maybe map negative triggers you should know about.
2.The Memory Itself
This section is more quoted from a book Journaling for Joy by Joyce Chapman
Close your eyes to get the full perception sense of the visual and sensory details of the memory. Where are you? What are you wearing? What lighting or shadows do you see? What sounds can be heard? What do you smell? Describe your body and how its reacting. Who else is there? What expressions lighten or darken their faces? What do you imagine they might be thinking, what is said? How is this different from or typical of other memories from that life? What is assumed and what goes unquestioned? If possible, does this connect to a period of time/date? What other memories does this connect to?
You want a full, detailed search of this memory to the best of your ability. Trust your gut, you may feel sometimes that you are fabricating some parts of the memory or it may have not went down the exact way you are writing down. That's okay, even if your mind is trying to fill in some spots and make sense of this memory through a translation, the theme around this memory is still real and even if this happened in another way that you can't fully see, it still happened. This is why journaling these memories are important, you may feel vague on the memory now, but later on it might get triggered again and you get the full story. Be patient with yourself.
3.Afterwards
You now have this memory written down to detail to the best of your ability, now let's analyze it using feedback statements. You can start this part with "I now realize that.." or "I learned that.."
What conclusions can you draw from this memory, and during this incident what did you draw from it then as compared to now? How does this memory affect me now?
What does this memory mean to me?
What emotions do I feel as I write these conclusions/questions?
Keep asking questions as they come to you, all the questions you have about this memory. you might not have all the answers now, but as you continue this technique those holes will be filled over time.
In my experience and the experience of many others, writing more has lead me to remembering more, and as I write one memory it may suddenly bring back another and another and another. It's great for self exploration.
A Quick Format
This format is for if you don't bring your journal with you, or are busy, and have a pocket notebook or phone to just jot it down real fast. It's supposed to be quick enough so you can deeply journal on it when you get the time or spoons.
1.What caused this Memory?
2.What was this Memory?
3.How do I feel/What feelings are rising?
4.Details you think are important to remember/write down real quick for later
5.Extra Thoughts about it
Conclusion
Anyways, I hope this helps you guys out as much as it's helped me. Would love to hear your experiences trying this out.

something I enjoy is how the semi-official Finnish name for Eurovision Song Contest is "Euroviisut"
viisut = a word that means "songs" and just happens to sound a lot like the word "vision"
the Eurosongs song contest
#by semi-official I mean: Euroviisut is used in the news and everyday speech#the only places I could find that call it Eurovision Song Contest are Wikipedia and TV guide + a random master's thesis#anyway! just thinking about this since Finnish media had been going absolutely nuts about Euroviisut for months now#the leading newspaper already hired an analytics company to find out how age & party affiliation affects whether you prefer Erika or KAJ#and it's still over a week to go#I fear we're going to reach unprecedented lows in the field of Finnish journalism before the contest actually takes place!#Finnish things

Journaling Prompts ☁︎
☀︎ I wanted to share a journaling prompt - these questions aren’t just questions for your journal, but creating a safe space to breathe and reflect. A chance to listen, feel, and realign with who you’re becoming ☀︎
Prompt #1: Do I look to other people to know the “right thing to do”?
Prompt #2: Do I have a deep fear of being criticized? Who/what made me feel this way?
Prompt #3: What are the parts of myself that I am afraid to express?
☀︎ Write without judgment. It doesn’t need to be perfect, and if it brings up emotion, let it ☀︎

Getting Started: Junk Journaling
So you want to get started with scrapbooking/junk journaling? This is a craft, like many others, that you can get started on with very little supplies! However, we'll get a little deeper into stuff as well for some additional tips and supplies that might be fun or helpful.
What You Absolutely Need
Scissors / Cutting Implements - If you can, buy a nicer pair of scissors for your own sanity, but any scissors will do starting out! Detail scissors specifically are really helpful. Exacto knives can also be helpful, but you'll also need a cutting mat if you don't already have one. This category is worth investing in because dull scissors are a nightmare.
Adhesive - ZipDry is designed for paper so it doesn't bleed through thin stuff and it dries quick and clear. Double sided tape rolls are also very helpful, especially with large areas or gluing a bunch of stuff quickly. This is an area worth investing in earlier! Thin paper and magazine paper will have bleed through with certain glues.
Notebook/Paper - Use what you have! If you, like me, have a million journals lying around, use that! As you get deeper in, you might find it helpful to specifically look for notebooks that lie flat when opened. You can also use sheets of art paper if you want to go more independent collage style rather than journaling. Watercolor paper/notebooks are nice because they are thicker, but you can use whatever.
Materials to Actually Cut/Glue/Use - Okay, here's where you really can do whatever you want forever and spend as little or as much as you want. You can cut up books and magazines you have on hand. If you have a printer, you can print stuff out! People sell really amazing curated mixed packs of materials (you can support some great shops on etsy doing very cool and niche stuff! If you are really on a budget, amazon sells some bulk packs as well).
Material Tip
If you don't have a husband that works in a mailroom (we are very lucky) and you don't have a lot of magazines on hand, try going to your local post office and dig through the recycling bin! A lot of people will throw out magazines/ads/catalogues there and you might find some gems. You can also get a free trial for some magazines and just cancel once they want to charge you money. Nic finds Vogue and GQ helpful for people. National Geographic can be helpful for backgrounds and animals.
Leveling up details below the cut!
Level Up
Slide Cutter - Make sure you get one with a replaceable blade! Super helpful for bulk cutting out big shapes.
"Okay, but I see people online with fancy stuff and I want to get in on that action!" you may say. Here is some fun stuff to play with!
If you see someone whose junk journaling content you like, you can also just reach out to them! A lot of people are happy to share links to the stuff they use and a lot of junk journalers online run their own shops/have affiliate links to the stuff they use!
Fun Junk Journaling Variety Packs - truly this is where a lot of people spend a lot of money because you can buy all sorts of fun niche packs depending on the vibe/focus you want to go with. You can also buy packs of quotes / letters / sayings. This can be helpful especially when doing character focused stuff. My wife really likes the packs from PengellyCrafts on etsy.
Washi Tape - People really like using washi tape, especially the transparent ones. These can be surprisingly expensive.
Transparent Stickers - These are fun because you can get a lot of detail and layering without intricate cutting. If you are careful with detail cutting you can cut the white border on normal stickers if you can't swing transparent ones.
Stamps - Like transparent stickers, this can add fun depth and layering, though with perhaps slightly less detail. The best part about stamps is that they are infinitely reusable and you can get all sorts of stamp pads. The downside is they are surprisingly expensive. You can even get stamps that help you make backgrounds like stars or wood texture. There are also "container" stamps like jars and bottles that you can put stuff in!
Embossing Powder - You can pair stamps with a glue stamp pad (or get glue markers) to use with embossing powder and a heat gun to create embossed details that add depth and texture. Make sure you are careful about what order you do things in when using heat!
Distress Ink (or Distress Oxide) & Blender/Diffuser - Make things look aged! This is a stamp pad you can use to make any paper or image look older than it is. Make sure you also get the little foam blender they also sell for application since it'll go on too thick if you try to use it directly on the paper.
Wax & Wax Seals - Wax can be fun to play with because it is both an adhesive and also adds dimension. Note: a lot of embossing or wax in a journal can make it hard to close a notebook.
Old Books - You can buy used books or use books that you don't want anymore for backgrounds to cut out words. Things like recipe books and encyclopedias can be especially helpful/vibe-y.
Fun Edges / Frames - You can get scrapbooking scissors or edge punches to add fun details and shapes to paper edge. It just depends on whether you like that look! Something like a simple round edge punch can be helpful.
Have Fun With It
Do you do other crafts, like painting or cricut? You can pair so many different crafts with junk journaling to make a cool multi-media piece. The most important thing to remember is to use what you have and have fun with it! Don't put off starting because you want all the bells and whistles or think you have to spend a bunch of money like the people who create junk journaling internet content! Create joyfully and lean into the chaos.
Please let us know if this guide was helpful and if you'd like a more specific buy list or tutorials on anything! We are here to help make crafting more accessible <3 You got this! Go junk journal!
If you want to see Nic's junk journaling, we are going to queue some in the next few days. Check our pinned post to find our junk journaling tag for inspiration!

☀️Morning Pages☀️| Journaling
- “the bedrock tool of creative recovery”
🔗 Come join our journaling community here on tumblr! 🔗
‘Morning Pages’ is a simple technique by Julia Cameron covered in her book The Artist’s Way intended to clear the mind of any brain clutter that stunts your creativity and productivity. This technique is loved by many because it’s helped them work through creative blocks, sort and prioritize their ideas, and reduce their anxiety.
Method:
Morning Pages involves starting your day by filling three pages in long-hand writing with your stream of consciousness—don’t think about what to write, write about what you think. You write without interruptions or distractions. You don’t correct it share it, you don’t even have to read it once you’re done!
“Does it have to be three full pages?”
No, of course not! While Julia Cameron recommends three pages of A4-sized paper, there is no wrong or right way. Adjust this method to your needs, whether this means writing more or less, setting a timer instead of a page limit, doing evening pages unread of morning, or taking breaks between days.
Key Words: stream of consciousness, longhand writing, brain clutter
Bellow I elaborated with key terms, tips, tricks, helpful video and article links, and my personal experience.
Stream of consciousness means writing nonstop whatever pops into your mind without worrying about grammar, legibility, or comprehensiveness. It’s about recording flow of your thoughts onto paper as they happen spontaneously.
Longhand writing is simply the practice of hand writing on physical paper. This practice is recommended as it forces you to be mentally present in the writing process, slowing your thoughts so you may record record and reflect on them.
Brain clutter consists of all the “noise” you have in your mind. They can be your self doubts, your insecurities, your stress, ideas… Often, this noise creates a mental block that restricts your creativity and productivity.
Tips:
Pens over pencils, the permanence of ink will deter you from the urge to erase or back track
Use a comfortable, smooth flowing and quick drying pen to better your experience
Listen to music to aid your focus, non lyrical songs are recommended
Start small. You don’t need to start with three pages, work your way up to it, or,
instead of setting a page goal set a time goal.
It doesn’t have to be in the morning, choose a time of day that best suits you, like before bed.
Getting through obstacles:
“I don’t know what to write.” That’s your first sentence! Go from there. Look at morning page prompts before you begin if needed.
“I’m having trouble being consistent.” Dont be afraid to adjust your goal to more manageable levels. But also: Building a habit is hard, but try to pass the three day mark. You’ll find that it’s easier the longer you keep it up
“I’m ashamed of my writing.” This is a personal, private journal that is not meant to be shared. It’s not meant to be pretty. Heck, it’s not even meant to be read. It’s meant to empty all your brain clutter so you may continue onto your day with clarity.
“I tried it but I find it torturous.” That’s okay! You’re not doing it wrong, it’s just not a good technique for you. There are so many other journaling methods to explore. You’ll know when you find the right one because you’ll feel good after doing it.
My personal experience:
As a person who has always struggled with deep rooted anxieties, stress, and even anger, I find this method therapeutic. I started doing morning pages this March and here are my thoughts 23 days after.
Brain clutter has become the major source of my self limitations. These inner thoughts of mine that loop in my brain endlessly with worries and doubts have prevented me from doing even the most mundane of tasks.
Starting my day writing without concern of the outcome has left me feeling lighter. Like I can breathe. I take those inner voices, everything that’s bouncing around right when my day starts, put them on paper and shut my notebook. They don’t disappear, it’s not a cure all, but they’re quieter. I’m able to sort through them better and in turn organize myself so I can tackle the day.
It’s not only the negative, though. For me, the first page or two may start that way and then I run out of worries to write about—which actually make them seem so much more finite and manageable than first perceived. Then I have to pick my brain and force the last of my thoughts onto paper. They’re so much less profound and heavy, some silly even.
I write about what I’m exited about, interrupt myself as my brain goes into a tangent, circle back and talk about what I have planned for the day, talk about the dream I had the night before.
I’ve missed 3 days in total since I began, and at that point I had developed the habit enough that it would be on my mind nagging me as I tried to fall asleep. Sometimes I would write more than three A5 pages, sometimes I would write less, and that worked for me. It was more about venting until I could focus on what my thoughts were beneath the dark gunk.
I will continue doing morning pages, allowing myself to miss a day here and there, unless it keeps me from falling asleep in which case I’ll do them in the evening to wind down. I’m curious to see if doing these pages before bed will help me with my sleep.
